Is there less or more racism in American society?   Yes or no?   State your position on the subject-delineate your points?

Demands, demands, demands, yet I'll try. Where I live there is prejudice, though it is of ethnicity, not race. However, it is a double edged sword dependent of the bearer if swung this way or that way. Though they possessed the land long before my kind arrived, some are treated as if they don't belong here, by some without virtue. While those of nobility, too, share a crossed eyed stare now and then speaking in tongues with their companions. I hear contempt.

There may be racism with the local tribal members as targets, though I have not personally witnessed it. I have heard rumors and soft spoken whispers of distaste. You see, they own the casinos in my neck of the woods and envy rears its ugly head up. Alas, perhaps they are in terrace two of Purgatory working things out. Eyes blinded woven shut barely a tear passes.

Compared to 55 years ago where blacks couldn't vote or have mix marriage and were greater segregated. Today the same human rights apply to all races.  Hardly anyone is listening to the KKK anymore. They mainly
smoke weed and talk crap about races, no sticks, stone or set anyone on fire.
      Overall less.

Class wars are greater than ever.
Today is an apocalypse combination of American revolution,  civil war and world War, yet not as bad of each overall.  People better wake up or suffer more of the same.

      Just my view

Well, isn't this just the perfect picture of progress? We were cruising along just fine, but then, oops, we took a sharp turn into the abyss. Now we've got a lovely mess of toxic waste to deal with, and guess who gets the credit? Yep, it's the Democratic Party and their media pals, leading us straight into the swamps of chaos. Thanks a bunch, folks.

The only club I belong to is the optimist club.
The beauty of chaos is it's far greater reaching than order. If your a strong individual and a creative entrepreneur, there is plenty of ways to win in the this matrix game. We are all employed by the human race and the game of love and life.

Oh good grief, Sharlee, I don't recall that it was the democrats or anyone for their causes marching in Charlottesville. I was reading and agreeing with everything said on both sides of the fence and the water until I read your post. They were sticking to the subject, but you introduced politics into it.

Hi, Tim! Racism and Ethnicity are not limited to America only. It is there all over the world. We can't get rid of these issues. We need to get adjusted and habituated.

I grew up with segregation, forced busing and the n word. Things have improved, but not nearly enough. Any time you think you are better than someone else, there is a problem.

The beauty of the world's freedom is there is alway another country with your ideas of a better life and freedom to go to.  That's from  experiences of over 100 countries traveled.  Canada and US were for me once the best countries to be in. Latin America is more Ideal for me today. Still one foot is in Canada because of family and pension, the government energy vampire try sucking as much as they can from.

I can live in a one bedroom house in Argentina for $150 a month. Where in Toronto it would be $2000 a month. Canada has the worst overall housing cost in the G7.

Spot on Shar! Starting with Mr. Barack "let's *transform (*code for destroy) this Nation, because I've decided it's not worthy" Obama and his #2.

Ditto that "thanks a bunch folks."

I believe that Obama's policies and actions, especially in domestic and foreign affairs, were harmful to the values and interests I associate with America. His initiatives seemed to lean towards a globalized agenda, which I perceive as a push for a one-world order. His handling of immigration and international relations played a significant role in shaping my perspective and my dissatisfaction with his leadership.

From my perspective, he seems to be the one influencing Biden's decisions. It's probable he assumed Hillary would win in 2016, ensuring continuity for his agenda. Trump, in my opinion, was a blessing in disguise. He demonstrated that America could have a leader who takes pride in the country and its citizens, genuinely working for the people.

Trump 2024 !   No more time to sit on our hands..

"He (Trump) demonstrated that America could have a leader who takes pride in the country and its citizens, genuinely working for the people."

Yes that's true. For white people or people who perceive themselves as white. When I worked in broadcasting, I worked with a few African Americans one African, and one Jamaican. I saw no prejudice in that field because everyone was judged by their abilities and talent. In fact my first husband was the only white employee (chief engineer) of a black radio station in Ft. Worth, TX. All of those people of both races I met in the business were color blind.

The reason I used the phrase "perceived as white" is because many white people are just passing as being of pure European descent. You can look at videos of all those white people demonstrating in Charlottesville and tell that some of them were not 100% northern European.  And some don't even know it. One of my friends, a natural blond, told me that in doing genealogical research, she was surprised to discover that her great grandfather was a slave on a plantation in KY. She doesn't try to hide it now that the knowledge has surfaced. So although prejudice is still around, we are more free to be open of our genealogy and in our relationships whether they be friend or romantic.

Wow. Some here are really on a roll! Pot stirring elevated to an art form. Just how many angry responses are we going for today?

Choose not to play. Going outside to enjoy the day.
