Hitler was a pschyopath. A genius would be able to make the distinction between right and wrong. In Hitler's mind, the destruction of all species who were not light-skinned and blue-eyed was essential to betterment of the world. The fact that he enticed a public and gained a leadership role is not so much genius as it is opportunity and timing. In effect, one could compare it to the same charm which Ted Bundy seemed to have with young women just before he murdered them...not genius but sex appeal. But Ted was no genius....like Hitler, he was a psychopath on a mission. WB
Hitler wasn't even the smartest mass murder of his generation
Hitler was no genious. If he was, he would of found another way to try make Germany a great nation. Instead he brought destruction to Germany along with 75% of Europe!. But like most psychopaths, he had some good points. He banned smoking, loved nature and animals.
Jeez, I am so glad you pointed this out! That makes everything he did all right then??
Gimme a break!
wow, they really took what you said and twisted it. That was impressive.
You: "Hitler was basically the devil, but he had a FEW good ideas"
Everyone else: "OH SO YOU LIKE MURDERING PEOPLE!?"
Yes and he liked his race to be good looking .. your point?
Right there is no point. . the facts are and I am sorry to be redundant but this is one point that needs nothing more said other than the fact Hilter was nothing more nothing less than an . . . . .
Evil, bad, a horrific atrocious, awful, dreadful, frightful, ghastly, grosteque, gruesome, hideous, horrendous, horrid, horrible, horrifying, unspeakable monstrous, nightmare, nightmarish, shocking, terrible, wicked demon like entity to have ever walked this earth.
And that is the only description that should ever be associated when mentioning Hitler.
Yes, I agree. But as far as mass murders of the 20th century, he ranks #3 (after Stalin).
What is this the weekly NFL standings?
Who is talking about rankings . . or Stalin?
So again I repeat,
Evil, bad, a horrific atrocious, awful, dreadful, frightful, ghastly, grosteque, gruesome, hideous, horrendous, horrid, horrible, horrifying, unspeakable monstrous, nightmare, nightmarish, shocking, terrible, wicked demon like entity to have ever walked this earth.
And that is the only description that should ever be associated when mentioning Hitler.
of course, on the flip side of that argument....he shot his dog in the head, his armed forces destroyed much of Europe's landscape, and set much of Europe on fire
To add to Brown's righteous statement, without the weak and critical economy at that moment, never would Hitler have risen. Th
The heads of government should remember history. Revolutions were born from hunger not for too much cake!
Not really, here are some relevant quotes from Mein Kampf.
"I had become a little ringleader; at school I learned easily and at that time very well, but was otherwise rather hard to handle. Since in my free time I received singing lessons in the cloister at Lambach, I had excellent opportunity to intoxicate myself with the solemn splendor of the brilliant church festivals. As was only natural the abbot seemed to me, as the village priest had once seemed to my father, the highest and most desirable ideal.
As it happened, my temporary aspiration for this profession was in any case soon to vanish, making place for hopes more stated to my temperament. Rummaging through my father's library, I had come across various books of a military nature among them a popular edition of the Franco-German War of 1870-71. It consisted of two issues of an illustrated periodical from those years, which now became my favorite reading matter. It was not long before the great heroic struggle had become my greatest inner experience. From then on I became more and more enthusiastic about everything that was in any way connected with war or, for that matter, with soldiering."
Like many other "great men" who failed Hitler had some good points that everyone prefers to forget.
He came to power after Germany was in ruin from WWI. Inflation was so far out of control that only radical moves could accomplish anything. There needed to be someone who could galvanize the people and get things moving in a positive direction.
In the begining Hitler did this. He got the transportation system back online.
He got the factories back to work and rebuilt the shattered communication system.
But, as we all know, he was also a psychopath and a sociopath. He took what was a good start and redirected it as he became drunk with power.
The German people wanted someone to blame for the total defeat of WWI and the resulting total economic carnage and Hitler used that desire to target his enemies. He also needed a weak and faceless scapegoat which he found in the Jews and others like atheist, communists, gypsies and the handicapped.
But one also should be asking why Germany was left in such dire straights after WWI. Why didn't the allies help rebuild like they did after WWII.
Hitler was a madman but the web is more complicated than what is most often taught in history classes or shown in documentaries.
Like every other coin there are two sides but only one faces up.
it depends on if you're a nazi or not.
hmm...this person only been on for 5 hours, and profile, he must be hitler reincarnated! lmao! Why we all answer to these people! They drama mama's lol
A genius? He ground a country full of proud creative, excellent Germans into dust. He was a fool and a monster.
he is hated now, but in his time, it seems he appealed to the masses - some kind of charisma & ability to manipulate
if he was a genius he could've avoided hyperinflation... maybe he should've been a national capitalist rather than a national socialist.
I guess it's a personal choice... i myself prefer my megalomaniac, psychopathic, war-mongering, mass murdering evil despots to have more than one testicle
Your Brazilian is just too comprehensible. Romans learnt it from the East, otherwise no mathematics!
You remind me of the Colonel Bogie ditty "Hitler's only got one ball. Goering has two but very small. Himmler's similar. He's got none at all."
So much cuter and funnier when Bette Midler sang it.
If memory serves, I heard it first in the "The Bridge on the River Kwai" starring David Niven and William Holden.
"Hitler Has Only Got One Ball" is a song that mocks Nazi leaders using blue comedy in reference to their testicles. Multiple variants of the lyrics exist, generally sung as four-line verses to the tune of the "Colonel Bogey March".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hitler_Has … t_One_Ball
Hitler has only got one ball,
The other is on the kitchen wall,
His mother, the dirty bugger,
Chopped it off when he was small.
She threw it, into the apple tree
The wind blew it into the deep blue sea
Where the fishes got off their dishes and ate scallops and bollocks for tea

Hitler, has only got one one ball
Goering had two, but very small
Himmler had something similar, and
Goebbels had no balls at all!

Hitler was one of the most evil men in history. How could you ask such an inane and preposterous question? What is your thinking capacity? Hitler insituted one of the most egregious genocidal acts in the history of mankind. Before that archetype of Satan came into power, there was a beautiful and thriving Jewish culture and civilization in Europe, especially in Eastern Europe in places such as Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Lithuania, and Western Russia, including the Ukraine. During his heinous tenure, that beautiful culture and civilization was all but annihilated! These poor souls in addition to countless other Slavs, Roma, non-whites, and others whom he and the other Nazi cohorts considered to be outsiders were ruthlessly placed in concentration and extermination camps and killed!
Was Hitler a nice man? You should be horsewhipped for asking such a question. Please read some intelligent books on World War II and Nazi Germany. A good book that I suggest is William Shirer's THE RISE AND FALL OF THE THIRD REICH. Another book I recommend is Eugen Kogon's book, THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF HELL. Please start reading these books and please think before you post another embarrassing and ludicrous question. Thank you.
his mom won't let him read books... her customers trip over them on the way up to her bedroom
gross topic but as always leave it to wise Greek One to put some humor on an otherwise moronic and gross topic.. .
To wavegirl22: I shall paraphrase an old but wise dictum-it is better to be perceived as foolish then to completely reveal yourself and say/write something so inane as to remove all perceptions! I even have a better quote- if you think of something moronic and utterly stupid, just let it be a passing thought!
Thanks guys! I know it was my fault for actually clicking on this thread. I thought it was relatively safe to do with my daughter laying on my lap... after all she can only read about 3 words. Pictures of corpses are great fun for two-year-olds.
Eugenics. Eliminating undesirables, from mentally incapacitated individuals to ultra intellectuals whose only crime was to be born Jewish. Ruling by division, hate and mistrust. Encouraging betrayal of friends, neighbors and family. Turning your nation into an extermination oven, AND attacking the Soviets were not acts of a genius. The genius was Albert Speer, unfortunately his talents were wasted on the Third Reich
"...Was Hitler a good man"!!!!!!(*&^%%%%$$$$$
Does a chicken have lips???
duhhh
ha ha lord, think this was just created to get a reaction out of people! You gotta luv those people that like to get you all stirred up with no explanation! So if you ask such a question, maybe you deserve a dumb answer! lol
I would just like to know what makes this person think Adolf was a genius, evil or otherwise. He was obviously educated...but exactly WHAT did he accomplish? Bill Gates is a genius, Stephen Hawking is a genius. Hitler was an educated idiot. Dime a dozen.
Well if starpinker knew anything about hitler he would know he went out and hunted the genius's and made them do all the work for him. lol Hitler had no brains! lol
And what he did have he blew out with a pistol. Brilliant move.
Wow, I never in a million years would've thought this would be a question brought up on forums. However, to answer the question, I think every person has the capacity for good just as much as they possess the ability to do evil things as well. It ultimately depends on the person, and the choices they make in life that determine it. Was Hitler a good man? I don't think he was because he because of the actions he did in his life. But, I think he also owned a dog, and dog's are prone to sensing evil, so there was probably some good in him. However, based on his actions alone, I think he was a misguided a**hole if you ask me. Hitler may have been a genius and had some capacity for good, but he was ultimately one of history's biggest monsters because of his horrible acts of cruelty, and how organized a nation to genocide countless of innocent lives just for being born a certain way.
Personally, one can only hope that there will never be another man like him again...
Josef Stalin had a dog, too, that he was fond of. I don't buy the dog theory.
Fair enough. All I was getting at is that I think everyone has the capacity for evil every bit as they have the capacity for good. In the end, it boils down to choices that one makes in life that determines how we're perceived. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending anything that Hitler did, as I personally see him as one of history's worst monsters along with Stalin. However, it's the choices that we make that ultimately define us.
OMG. . .did you ever see footage the trains where the SS herded people into cattle cars with dogs barking.. .
Do you actually think someone such as this evil very evil monstrous man had one ounce of good in him?
Evil bad a horrific atrocious, awful, dreadful, frightful, ghastly, grosteque, gruesome, hideous, horrendous, horrid, horrible, horrifying, unspeakable monstrous, nightmare, nightmarish, shocking, terrible, wicked entity to have ever walked this earth.
And those are the only type of adjectives that should ever be associated when mentioning Hitler.
Fair enough. As I said earlier, I too think of Hitler as one of history's biggest monsters, but as I also said before, everyone has the capacity for good just as much as they have the capacity for evil. The only difference is that some people are prone to act more on one impulse over the other, and it's ultimately the choices that one makes in life that defines us. As I said before, I'm not defending him for what he did, nor do I intend to. I'm merely stating an opinion.
You talk of Hitler as if he is a man who simply made the wrong choices in life. he was a classic text book pyschopath.
The difference with psychopaths to normal people as that they have no conscience whatsoever.
People without consciences are capable of the worst more dreadful , most awful acts, and they can still sleep at night.
They never feel regret, because they do not think they did anything wrong.
And you mentioned dogs in a previous post. I used to think dogs were canny that way, but they can't tell a psychopath either.
Well you make a very good point, as psychopaths aren't often able to distinguish the moralities of right and wrong the same way a sane person would.
However, let me put it another way. Hitler was at one point a baby in his life. Can we all agree on that? After all, I doubt seriously he popped out of thin air, or was some spawn of spontaneous combustion. Okay, would you say baby Hitler or any baby is evil? No. Why? Because nobody ever starts off in life with a clear definition of right and wrong. Therefore, at one point in Hitler's life, he was a good person, even if that moment was short lived as a baby. It still counts. Now, at some point in his life, SOMETHING must've happened to him psychologically that caused him to spiral down the path that he did. Again, I'm not justifying anything that he did, nor am I saying that I agree with anything that he did either.
However, at one point in his life, something happened to him to make the choices that he made to become one of history's biggest monsters. Again, this all goes back to choices that we all make in life.
Besides, I doubt seriously baby hitler came out of his mommy's womb and said, "I'm going to be a ruthless dictator when I grow up." Anyone who says that is crazy, as babies don't have that kind of comprehension to know the difference; thus something had to have happened to him to make him go down the road that he did. As I said before, I agree with everyone here that says that he was a monster and a psychopath. I truly do. However, I also believe that at one point in his life that there was some good in him, as i like to believe in everyone. Call me naive if you want, but I do believe that every human being is capable of great things when pushed into the right direction...it's just unfortunate that not all human beings are....
It would be nice if you could simply explain Hitler away as a psychopath- and perhaps he was. But then many of millions of Europeans idolised him and followed him willingly to their deaths.
No Hitler wasn't born that way. None of us are, except....
Hitler as a child hurt small animals. A lot of kids do this. Studies have shown that a higher number of the population currently in prison did this too.
There are some suggestions a faulty gene may be responsible.
Studies are being carried out to identify the gene, then from there it is a simple test to check all newborn babies that carry it.
While I would suggest that all such children are monitored from a young age, Hitler's Germany would have had them exterminated.
We must keep a closer eye on what is being discovered and who we put in power, because there is a very real danger in future of someone (someone who has this gene obviously) deciding to create the perfect race, which is just history repeating itself.
Okay, here's a photo that I'm sure we all can agree on.
Looks like Starpinker has been banned from Hub Pages. Darn, he seemed like a really smart and cool dude with lots of potential! Hahaha. (sarcasm, people, sarcasm)
I do think Hitler and Mao and the like were very smart. Perhaps even genius in some areas. But intelligence has nothing to do with being good.
Oscar Levant said "There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line." So did Hitler.
i dont know. but what i do know is that Captain America socked him a good 50+ times.
simply refering to hitler as a psychopath or sociopath, or what ever label you might want to aply,.... but in the end he was just a man,....
perhaps rather than aplying lables and then dismissing the subject, taking in whole what has been written in the last 50 years as definative,... written by those on both sides with thier own agendas,...
it would probubly serve us well to learn more aout the man and less about the monster,.... the monster lurks beneath the surface of all men,...
jeffrey dahmer was a man,..... ted bundy was a man,.... joe stallin, mao was a man,... nepoleon,...jefferson,... nero,... all men who all took radicaly different paths at diffrent times in history,... we remember them because they changed the known world,.... but they were in essence,.. men.
just sayin
we've spent 60+ years talking about this little school yard thug ad we still know next to nothing about him as a peson,.... every picture painted of him in print always included the monster,....
if we knew this man as a person instead of a much agrandized monster,... we might learn from it,... we might learn how to recognise the monster, before we happily gleefully help it wipe 12 million+ from the earth.
You really think people haven't been studying his psychological profile for the past 60+ years?
with all due respect to the psych proffesion,.... a mans psychological profile is not the man.
throughout the length of this forum,... is any one realy discussing his psycg profile?
we throw about words like psychopath,... but theyre just poorly aimed bullets from a gun of a different caliber.
we all live with men(women too) that we know as a person, and we have no idea what they are capable of,.... we see the quote all the time,... i had no idea he/she was capable of such things,...
its usualy the good that one does hat jusifies the bad we do,.... just sayin
if he painted like raphael,... or rubens (nude, over weight blond blue eyed women),... would it all be ok then? ha! just sayin
Yeah if his paintings matched them he would have been a famous artist and we would celebrate his artistic achievements, but since he was a war criminal then he should have had a better hair cut!
Since it is still going, he was sharp as a bubble, bright as a burnt out light bulb
Why is this pathetic thread still open?
I've noticed that this thread has reached a good number of pages. Why exactly?
Greek One is back from his 24 hour ban (after making certain references to neo-nazi's mother, I suppose).
It feels so invigorating to be free!!!!!!!
Have we determine if Hitler was wonderful yet?
Can we now discuss whether Idi Amin was bad, or if he just had an eccentric dietary requirement?
Huh, why do you only get 24 hour bans? I've never managed less than three days.
I believe Hitler was geniusly retarded. He was also part Jewish yet tried to eradicate all Jews? Now I might be going out on a limb here but I do not think that being mentally insane and being a complete psychotic sociopath qualifies you as a genius, but maybe I am wrong who knows.
can you tell us from what authority this is true?
Hilter was no Jew.
He was an evil, bad, a horrific atrocious, awful, dreadful, frightful, ghastly, grosteque, gruesome, hideous, horrendous, horrid, horrible, horrifying, unspeakable monstrous, nightmare, nightmarish, shocking, terrible, wicked demon like entity to have ever walked this earth.
And that is the only description that should ever be associated when mentioning Hitler.
Hitler was not so different to many of his contemporaries. He was not an aberration. That is the genuinely scary thing.
Almost any population can be whipped up into a frenzy of nationalism, militarism and racism. All it needs is bad economic times and a sustained propaganda effort from a determined group that seems to offer a solution.
As an aside- this is one reason that political correctness (as annoying as it is) is actually valuable. It inhibits the development of all those precursors of fascism that exist all around us.
Finally someone has something valuable to say and I do not feel the need to repeat myself . .thank you Will
+1
Political correctness cuts one way. There are groups who are insulated and there are groups who are castigated. Political correctness is a tool to batter some while insulating others from legitimate criticism.
One need only look at the heated rhetoric from the occupy crowd to see that political correctness is not much of a deterrent. The antisemitism displayed by occupy crowds won them the praise of the American Nazi Party. The antisemitism of Obama's own minister is invisible among the politically correct "sheriffs" in the media.
Political correctness is no protection. A strong defense of the Constitution and the elections it guarantees is a much better one.
i agree with you that political correctnes has no real perpose in free speech other than to inhibit it,....
that said,...
at what point did i miss the antisemitism at OWS rallys?

The internet is the most marvelous tool ever created for disseminating information. One need only ask the correct questions.
link #1,... wow,... some one found a black woman to spout racist talking points,...ok,... good catch,... did sh get a big mac and a double order of fries for her effort? (i know, that was bad of me,... i just dont care)
link #2,... a right wing attack on obama does not count in a world looking for honesty in politics
link #3,... please see #2
link #4,... once again,... please see #2,... if this is where michele bachman gets her news and information it would explain a lot.
link #5,... the OWS spokesperson seemed to have a rational statement,.... can OWS help it if fringe groups want to hijack thier coat tails screaming ME TOO to any available camera?
the internet is living proof that where once we believed that .... "truth is starnger than fiction",.... we now parot.... "fiction is the new truth,.. if propperly packaged"
I would make no claims to any truth - however, if you would like to examine all the information I am sure your own efforts will reward you. It is easy to contradict what one has not bothered to learn for ones self.
As for the Jeremiah Wright quote - it never made the big news but it is as follows.
and not from a "right wing" anti-Obama source - what ever that means - since all sources contain with in them information that one with a keen mind can discern.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/1 … 13768.html
By the way - very few want objectivity in news or politics or in appraisals of their appearance or character or... pretty much anything. What we want is for someone to reassure us that we are correct, or smart or pretty. If one claims that theirs is the objective view you can be assured it is among the least objective. The claim to objectivity is specious and silly. Everyone, everyone sees the world through a personal lens and interprets it accordingly.
the link would not display.
perhaps a victim of the ovelords trying to block the huffington post from disseminateing truth.
in all honesty, you need to know that my mean sense of humor gets the better of me at times,... so please,... take no offence at my words here,... they are often for my entertainment than others enlightenment,... but at least i'm honest about myself. ha!
i'm not fan of the tea-party movent,... i think they have long since exchanged tea for kool-aid. they had greatintentions in the beginning,... but got hijacked by those with other agendas,.. and now they will forever be labled as they are now.
the OWS movement could well suffer the same fate if they dont forcefully condemn those who would hijack thier enerygy and base for less than honest purposes.
the rebel flag was a scource of southern identiry symbol of rebelion,.... until the KKK co-opted it.
and the swastik was a eastern good luck symbol .......until the nazis hijacked it.
perception is everything these days,.... its not about managing aleged facts,.... its about crafting perception
ok,... finaly got hufpost 2 load,....
wait,.... o gota run back through our conversation,...
as i suspected,..... what does jeramiah wright have to dowith this?.... or anything at all????
nothing.
he gets drug back into the light of day when theres nothing better to talk about, or when some one needs web hits,.... or when someone needs to find a link to post....
you do realize ths article if from june of 2009?
i truly do not mean to come off as combative,.... but i still fail to see your point.
Because antisemitism is frequently ignored among those associated with Obama or the "left"
the treatment of antisemitism on both the left and right is far more than deplorable,.... its moraly repugnant.
the left ignores it unless forced to deal with it beccause of the comments of some american black muslim idiot,.... black americans embrace this because theyve never had a whipping boy before,... and having a scape goat feels good,.... but then lots of things in life feel good momentarily, but have bad long term results.....
and the right wing screaming tea-bagger uses isreal like some holy grail rallying cry for far out christian jack waggons that would rather horde beans and rice and bibles, than help thier fellow man.
as long as far left victimhood-addicts,..... and far right jack waggons with little man syndrome form sizeable voting blocks,... they will be catered to.
I love it when you post, you are a glittering jewel of the left.
Like I said, the smartest thing he did was commit suicide.
It's the wrong question.
We should ask,'Was Hitler a man?" - No.
He was a paranoid schizophrenic, a went-wrong political idea.
If Hitler was a dire criminal, then all those that followed him and murdered millions, were also dire criminals. They were no more innocent than Hitler. Call all the Germans who followed Adolf Hitler dire criminals?
Who is exactly a criminal? One that does not care a constitution? Who made it?
He was an evil, bad, a horrific atrocious, awful, dreadful, frightful, ghastly, grosteque, gruesome, hideous, horrendous, horrid, horrible, horrifying, unspeakable monstrous, nightmare, nightmarish, shocking, terrible, wicked demon like entity to have ever walked this earth
Wow, I went to Starpinker's profile to see what exactly his angle was and he has been banned after two days......................................................................................................................................................................................................... That's just funny!
actualy i think he was banned within hours,..... i'm not sure weather to laugh or look over my shoulder. ha!
Nazi's I think shout something rediculious like,
"Mein Rennen ist in jeder Hinsicht überlegen Sie niedrigen Schwein! Atmen Sie das Gas, ATMEN sie jetzt!"
We would hear them long before we would have to look over our shoulder!
i wait wil bated breath for the englich translation! ha!
"My race is in every respect superior to low pig!" You breathe the gas, BREATHING it now!"
is this what newt meant when he told OWS protesters to take a bath,... a veiled refference to hit the showers? ha!
i just love hitler refferences! make people just bug the F out! very entertaining
You do realize that that is practically the definition of a troll?
Starting threads for the sole purpose of making people bug the F out for your entertainment. It's not like you had anything to actually say in defence of the man.

Hitler was hated ?! some hated him some loved him he dint go to war by himself
was Hitler genius ! no he wasn't he dint win the war.
but however wrong he was according to our views... he had an idea he went for it and did rather good ( on making his idea a reality) so as a personal achievement a man can only do what he thinks is right or wants. you cant do that if your stupid
was Hitler evil? yes everyone that goes to war on attack for gain is evil...
now you have way to many other dictators that killed alot more than him and still killing but we dont hate them as much because we have nothing to do with them.
don't get me wrong i'm not a fan just looking at it from another angle.
