   My father was the most important person in my life...I loved both my parents but I spent more time outside with my father in the farms rather than inside the home learning other things as cooking, sewing..etc etc..

   Well, it was my Mom as a kid. Then as I got older it was Me. Then, when I became a Mom and my mother died it was Maria, Jacey, and Annette equally! Now I'm a Mommy of three!

   I'm going to say my grandfather because he's no longer with me and hasn't been for well over 30 years but I carry him in my spirit and on his death bed he told me to take care of my mother (his daugther).
   Living it would be my son and my mother,I would gladly take a bullet for either or both.

   I could really name many people that I believe have been important to me over time, but it wasn't until I knew how important I could be to someone else before I learnt the true meaning of importance in an individual.

   She had done so much for me before passed away. Now my wife is the most important person in my life.

   I think my mom has been the most influential person in my life. Of course my dad was also very important. Then come my brothers, grandparents, my own children , grandchildren. It is hard to point to just one!

    There was not one but two who fit this answer. Both of my parents gave me courage and strength.
    They taught me to
    * value relationships over any thing.
    * believe in myself
    * be the best me I can be.
    * respect others.
    *keep on keeping on.
    and so much more.

    I have a number of people who are very important in my life. I can’t categorize any of them as being most important because they are all important. However, my father was probably the most influential of them.

    My Dad, of course. I was the "apple of his eyes" and there was nothing in this world he could not give me, even forgiveness and love despite all my delinquency in many things...I was his super star and there is nobody in this world who can love me the way he did. I felt so lucky I had a Dad like him.

       He is deceased, so the 'was'...but maybe he can still be loving me even if he is now in another dimension? who knows? but his love for me lives on in my heart and is demonstrated in my life experiences.

    My grandmother was the most important person in my life. She was the rock that held the family together. A person that loved everyone unconditionally. I remember when I would go to my grandmother's house when I was a little girl. We would sit on the porch and swing for hours. She would tell me stories of my family's past. She had such beauty and wisdom. I miss her dearly.

    Yehoshua of Nazareth, our brother who cared enough about us to visit this den of iniquity long enough to teach us the greatest lessons.
    
    After that, I have many honorable mentions:
    Gautama Siddhartha Buddha, for being brave enough to walk the narrow path to salvation -- something most of us could only dream about until the Nazarene.
    
    L. Ron Hubbard, for being a scoundrel and daring enough to investigate the mind and the spirit. He may not have made it all the way, but he opened up the frontier to many who had no idea it existed.
    
    My late father, Rod Martin, Sr., for holding it all at neutral affinity (turning the other cheek), and for his love.
    
    My late mother, Elaine Martin, for her love and strength.
    
    And my wife, Juvy, for wisdom, love and humility.

    Without a doubt my dad for loving me unconditionally and trying to instill in my thick headed skull that no matter what mistakes I made, his love for me would never change.
    
    He was the greatest man I've ever known and probably the reason that I am still alive today.  He devoted his life to raising me on his own, never even considering another mate to help him along the way. When my son came along and I needed more help as he grew up, he was there every second of the way. He never even stopped or changed when the defiant, rebellious, oblivious to reality stage came along. It is literally amazing when I think of it today.
    
    To have someone that never considered his own desires, wants and needs as a man because the needs of his family came above all else is a quality I've never seen again in another individual.
    
    I know to this day that he watches over me from above and gives me a little tap on the shoulder every now and then when I am almost ready to give up hope.  His unconditional love and devotion is something I will always cherish and remember as an inspiration today.
    
    Thanks for a great question that reminds me of the gratitude I owe for the greatest gift I was given, my dad.
