I put answer of your question in following three categories:
1st Case: Natural Death
In this case, People can see their death duration in between some margin of time, but they cannot predict proper time.
So I give 75% Probability to this case.
2nd Case: Accidental Death
In this case, People die with unexpected reasons such as natural disasters (Earthquake, Tsunami, etc.) or by human made errors like accidents in traveling, death by suddenly heart attack, workers can die by industries machines errors etc.
So I give 0% Probability to know death time when will they die.
3rd Case: Suicide
This is happens when people have no choice to live on beautiful planet earth and due some reasons whatever personal, familiar, loss in business, very high interests, love etc., they choose to die.
So L give 100% Probability to know death time.
It really should not matter as long as one is able to live a life devoid of the fear of death.
I have some experience with this, on my family, at least. My grandfather, for example, looked perfectly fine the week before he died. He had no apparent health problems and his doctor never detected any serious health issues during the year of his death.
Some days before he died, he started talking about several things about his life, told his children he loved them and told them to not worry, because he'd be going soon. Nobody took him seriously, obviously, since he seemed better than ever.
He died a few days later in his sleep. In fact, my mother didn't even notice he was dead till she tried to wake him up for the third time, since he looked very peaceful and as if he were confortably sleeping. The ideal way to day, if you ask me.
ok so a saturday afta my boyfriend came home from diving he was standin infront of the door way eating and said to our child i kno wen i died all what i earn will be yours and i didnt put it to taught and a nxt tym he and his mom argued ova sumn n he told her he kno dat the day she need him will be the day he dies and monday he ent and dive n caught d divers disease which is commonly called bendz and that just shattered all hopes and dreams because we planned our life together and i used to see in sleep him in sleeep when ever we argued i used to see how he died out in d ocean but just used to think dats anger tekin its place he died march 2015 and d saddest part d song i loved so much brakes my heart every time i hear it now its goes like wen ur legs dont work like they used to b 4 and dat part b4 he died he was a vegetable and d odda part of d song fall as hard at 23 and yep he was 23 plz read and post ur comment nothin negetive plz
My whole life I was very close to my grandfather. He was given 1 year to live 11 years ago and faught to live until 3 weeks ago. i was heading to Europe for 5 weeks in June/July so my grandparents came over the night before I left to say goodbye. That night I knew it would be the last time I saw my grandpa even though he was no sicker/better than usual. The last few days of my trip I knew something was wrong with him, I could feel it. My family didn't want me to know so I would enjoy myself but I got it out of them. I saw him one last time when I got home and he knew he was going to die but he waited for me. He defied medical odds even though he knew he was dying to wait, he stopped eating and talking the day I got back and passed away two days later.
I think some people just have that instinct, it is when they discuss it.
Most times elderly people tend to know their death on or before it happens and try to pass necessary information to others. Some try to make amends for wrong and others try to bring the whole family together to give pep talk or advise or offer prayers to them all. Only a few people do not get the signals
no one know about this in world . and in future no one going to know about this . its a top secret of nature and no one can know he/she going to die before die.
some people might have their sixth sense telling them that they are going to die.esp those who are sick or are in a dangerous place
I think a person feels that they are going to die. They accept it or they put it in the back of their minds and try to forget it. There are sometimes signs to warn us but we choose to ignore the signs if it happens suddenly.
I work in hospice and the answer is yes, and no. Some people acknowledge their imminent death openly, others get a burst of anxious energy, but never accept that the hour is at hand.
My grandmother, God bless her soul, a day before she died was very happy. She was happy because her entire family (6 kids, 18 grand kids) was together after almost two decades. We had gathered for a family reunion and it was then when I heard her saying "Now I am ready to die because I got to see all my kids at once" Well the old lady stuck to her words because the next day she suffered a stroke. It was very sudden however quick. I would have replied no to this question if I had not witnessed that incident. However I think even though they have some inkling about their fate, I don't think they are afraid. I think people are pretty excited - they just don't know they are excited about death. They are excited about the unknown and I chose to believe it is because it is their time to go to a better place
My grandmother also seemed to know. She requested all her friends for her 88th birthday. She passed a week after. Grandfather, too. He said, quality of life was low, did not want to turn 90. Passed a few weeks prior.
my brother was was mentally sick since 16 or 17.in june of 2013 he went to the mental hospital and was release 3 days later he told me who he had a dr.appt with but he throw away his insurance cards and started saying he did not need it when he was going.all he wanted was his birth certi.so i ask him where was he going he si sigua i never here of.so in july 16 2015 he was talking too me you know every since he was 16 he always talk of demons so i hear him and i did't.he told me how he was going to die but i did not pay attention.the last thing he side to me was he will see me aug 15 2015 day before his birthday he said a demon looking like my brother was going to kill him dam i miss all of that.well he got shoot by my oldest brother just like he said.why did'nt i remwber, why wouldnt he come with me like i ask.why did he choose me to tell/.well on aug 15 i was outside singing thinkin of my deceased brother and look up.and saw my brother in the glory of the kingdom of heaven big beautiful golden gates he was looking at me smiling and then he turn and went into the gate.so yes they know when death is on them
aoiffe396,
They know they're going to die if the doctor tells them they've got two months to live.

Very interesting question. A family member of mine died a few years ago. The week before his death, he took several of his relatives, including me out to dinner on separate occasions. He didn't say that he was going to die. However, after he passed away, many of us shared how he had taken us out to dinner on separate occasions, and we all thought it odd that he felt the need to have these last dinners. To me this says a lot about how God communicates with us without clearly providing reasons. I am sure that my family member had a strong feeling that he should meet with us all separately without knowing why he had those feelings.
She probably was warned by her own biological system of the diminished lively activity inside her own system.
That is to say that disease can tell people when they´re going to die. On the other hand, there are those who prefer to fight back the biological nature within the system and resist dying or let the soul leave the body.
This is a difficult question. But some people have fate may have to look beyond the understanding of ordinary people.
In short, I would have to say yes they do, as long as they have a certain level of awareness. There are a great many people who are operating more or less unconsciously. For those who are "self-aware," I am pretty sure they do.
I believe that if people think negatively about living and decide when they will die, then if they do it long and hard enough then it will happen.
When someone decides that they want to live then and they think long and hard and positive about it, then it will happen. They will have a long and happy life.
You cannot decide on the exact time that you will die at, or live to, but you can have a longer or shorter life depending on how uou think. Negatively or positively. It has to do with your mind and your inner self, and taking care of your outer self. Besides things like eating properly, proper sleep, etc.
Yes,there is some things happening.but any way it is not a happy thing. my grandma told me the day before she died ,that somebody is after her some times close to her and telling her that we must go.
The clearest answer would be that no one knows, because people who are here to answer the question have not experienced death. But in reality death is something that happens to your body and not your mind. Death is similar to going to sleep, you can feel it but even you dont know when it happens. According to human knowledge people does feel the death before it just like sleep but like any other feeling we may not try to understand it. Another psychological throry sujjests that thinking about something over and over leads you to the situation that you have thought. Many inventors like Thomas Edison used to think about inventing repeatedly to invent things.Another example is Michael Phelps who had won 9 gold medals in Olympics, Phelps thinks repeatedly about winning the medel just before he starts his swimming. Thus people who thinks they are going to die would die soon because their body and mind would prepare to die sooner.
Its hard to say a concrete thing, as I don't have any 1st hand experience here. But yes, many people show unusual behaviour and behaviour drifts at times. Would like to know if anyone has read something scientific about these recurring patterns.
Yes, but it depends largely on your relationship with God.
God is a gentleman and will not impose on someone who wanted nothing to do with Him, or His church, his whole life.
But for many who have accepted, and surrendered to eventuality, He gives dying grace - an emotional and spiritual state that removes the terror of dying.
So yes, they do know and in a way look forward to eternal life.
I looked this up because I believe that i am dying. No i havent been diagnosed with anything. But i can feel it inside me that something is wrong. I have had a strange calmness begin over the last few weeks and what now looking back what felt like a turbulent mind a whirlwind mind has slowed and an odd feeling of calmness has entered my body and mind. One ive never experienced before. I know my mum knew she was going to die before being diagnosed with cancer she told me. I feel like everything is ok everything is calm everything has slowed. Im not running anymore. I am at ease. I can feel physical symptoms too. I was a registered nurse. I am happy to leave if it happens. I feel that life tiredness, someone explained, i have found myself sorting stuff, just like when i nested preaparing for the birth of my children. I guess thats why i looked up this question to see if other ppl knew of ppl who felt like i do before they died.
Update. Yes i was right iwas dying i have a couple of rather serious illnesses i had no idea about. Luckily I guess they finally worked it out about nd am treating one illness at a time. But had it been left i would have died. I knew I could feel it.
Some people know about their death. But some don't. It depends on each individual's circumstances, place and time. I have just attended a young man who died 28 days ago.
He had told his wife what went wrong with his health. He was under going medical treatment from the doctors for his hepatitis for long period. But started taking nature cure process. That might have ended his life.
Sad but true I was the person who had recommended him the natural medicine.
He has left behind some poems in his last days. One of his poem has been posted by his son.
This event within a month makes understand the people know when they are going to die. Thank you.
I've known people who were aware of their impending death. Sometimes there was sickness involved, other times they just "felt it coming" despite that it was a sudden accident. Intuition is an amazing thing.
Some people know when they are going to die because of their declining poor health. Most people don't know when they are going to die though. A lot of people try to predict when they are going to die, and some of the predictions come true by coincidence. But, I guarantee, a teenager walking across a busy cross-section does not know he will get hit by a car and will die shortly after.
Yes people do know but before the couple of moments they die
Sorry for your loss!
But yes, they get some sensation or whatever you can say, it's just like they get to know now it's the final time unless they have an heart attack or a sudden accident.
They don't know but they feel that they will die soon .
I think some know, that they are at deaths door. Whereas others don't. If they are going through a medical issue and under medical supervision especially.
On the other hand, one could have a sudden heart attack, stroke or some other heath issue; or even some sort of fatal unexpected injury, which could be a cause of sudden death as well.
I've heard one guy at the hospital say to his wife something that i never heard it again. He said"Come closer, let me see you properly one last time before i close my eyes forever". The next moment he just closes his eyes and never wakes up. The doctor comes and just says that he's sorry. I guess most of the people do know that they are going to die just before they die unless the death is sudden such as a accident.
We all know that we are going to die. So make the most of life and stop dwelling on thoughts of the inevitable.
I don't know the phenomenon scientifically. I can answer you with this: my grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a given about a month of time left. I was going to visit her over thanksgiving when, all of a sudden, I got a call from my aunt the 3 second week of November saying that my grandmother felt she wasn't going to make it that long. I flew out to visit her. She passed 4 days later. The doctors had said she was going to live through Christmas the next year, but she internally knew that she didn't have that.
I wouldn't want to know when I die, mainly because live is a mystery even if I had a chance to know the date of death. That is the beauty of life, I suppose. Unless I am sick then, yeah, so I can still do the things I didn't do, and fulfill my wishes that I didn't had the chance to do it.
My brother passed a month ago and he was 34 years old. He died from retroperitoneal infection. We didn't find out about the infection until he could no longer take the pain and went to the ER. Before this he had only been sick for less than two weeks , complaining about pain , but the doctors had diagnosed him wrong. Me and my mom were finally gonna go visit him after 5 years of not seeing him because he was in a different country and I was helping my mother get her legal stuff together so she could go with me to visit him since he couldn't visit us. I believe my brother sense his death but didn't really understand it. Before his death when he wasn't even sick, he spoke a lot about death. He always said he wanted to die young , but he talked about death more and more a couple of months before his death. I kinda felt it to because once my mom had everything she needed and I bought the ticket three months out to go see him I had made a comment to myself about all going to well and it would be crazy if something happened to him before we reached him. I also had a thought in my mind that I wanted my brother to be in my future child's life and how important it was to me for him to be in my life. Why would I make comments like that and himself as well when we didn't know what was going to happen. He died unexpectedly and it all happen so quick! I just don't understand why when we were finally going to go see him. We were all just so close! I loved him so much,we had a special bond! Why would he die once everything was going good and we were finally gonna go and see him after so many years! I will never understand it and I will never understand how and why he made those comments about death more frequently before his passing when he wasn't aware that he was going to die!
three cases in my life happened and gave sign of death but then i did not notice but when the death happened the i recall the things that they were telling about and i just did not pay intention.
someone who is going to die speak about something one or two day before which is ultimately the sign that he is going to leave us for his permanent life.
I would say in some cases, yes--especially if the person is intuitive and possesses precognition. That ability allows a knowing about future events and can guide someone to make decisions or get their affairs in order.
I would not know, you have to be the person dying to truly know what it feels like.
I am revealing my personal experience. There are some who knows pretty well about their date and time of death. My father made some calculations and noted down the date of his death as 19th June 1999. This was what exactly happened. On 18th he asked for the time and went to sleep and had not wake up again. Exactly early in the morning at 4.30, he expired as noted down in his Diary. I never believed it until I got experience with my father. A great man to love.
The fact is even if we are able to know when we are going to die most of us would be least interested to know it because it's better not to know it and die a sudden death than to know it and die everyday waiting for the same. Death is the most certain thing to happen in our life decided from our birth itself but than also we are very much afraid of it and try to avoid and ignore it as if we are going to live for ever... for more on the Life, Death & God feel free to go through the below article :-

I had a very close friend that traveled for an international dentist seminar to EU, back from that trip she gave all her close friends, really all of them, we were all wondered and amazed as she didn't even missed one person, a bottle of Dolce Vita Christian Dior body lotion, that Im crazy about. Few weeks later she past away of brain hemorrhage during the trip to Jakarta, we were having a business meeting there. And that lotion is no longer in production at the moment. I dont know if it is a good sign.. as the last bottle I had always made me sad as it was always reminded me of her. May she RIP next to God. Amen
Yes, my Dads girlfriend said goodbye to me the night before she killed herself and she had tried twice before to do it before I met her and she had lived, so I think she knew. I wish I had known. It was heartbreaking. She had just turned 30.
Im really sorry to hear that tragic event that had happened to your Dad's girlfriend. may she RIP
Hi Jaxxi: In all fairness, your Dad's girlfriend did know when she would die because she died of her own hand. When that happens there's no doubt you know when you will die. If people who die of natural causes or an accident know, that's awesome.
But did she know? She expected to die the other 2 times she tried, but she lived.
Yes, she knew Jaxxi, that's why she said "Good Bye" to you. That is very sad and I'm very sorry for your loss and that you had to be a part of that. If only someone knew her deep feelings they could've taken her for counseling. The best thing for you
Yes.one can dicide its own death. Is is said that thee great Hindu philosopher SWAMI VIVEKANANDA's death was decided by him.He died during his last special meditation.knowing of death is only possible if one can create a bond and relation between universe. And feel own existence in this limitless universe. As a part of universe we all have power gaining ability from universe. But now a days no one thinks about all this and just follow their daily routine like a worker ants..
Death is just a natural part of life. We are just passing through. We have choices about everything else but the only thing we have to do is die. We have to live every moment as if it is our last. read more
Death is unexpected thing it never comes with warning.Only God know Who,
When, where will Die.I think and the regional books says that nobody know when they will die.death means comeouting mans soul .It is invisible .No one can see it.At lastly i want to say That Death never cames By any Warning and none will know when their death will come.
You are right hasan22 about death being unexpected. However, I've had a warning about my Son's coming death. My Mother had a warning of my Father's coming death. We (my Mother nor I) didn't know exactly when but we knew it was soon.
I am not any Science Student or any of the the Experimental person but as and were i have heard that it May be the recorded Words in subconscious mind Like : it will be the religious Mattered Story or story seen in the movie that would influence more to that mind or some articles and media have told that the person who died and came back to life has saw some people who are only seen to the deceased person and More over it may be just like going to coma stage and coming back or Astral travel.
So Yes people will know when they are going to die before they die by seeing all this details but still there is no strong proof provided by any of the Country Scientists or research Centre,
It is Deep and Vast Subject which can be writtern In Volumes.
More and More Can Be Explained In This Topic, but Shotly the Humans have Created the Religion and Religious Customs, According to their Ideas matters moves on Like : If a person is hindu belives in Yama, if Christian belives in judgement Day and so on to their Culture and Rituals But one thing to know, may be People will know when they are going to die before few mins to pass away.
I think it depends on the person. I do believe that a person can sense that they are going to die before it happens. Just like i believe that there are people (and i do know 2 of them that does this), that can sense if someone is going to die soon or not. They have never failed over the years and it is a bit scary to know.
Anything can happen in this world. We can all be people of science if we have too but there are still things that can't be explained.

How do you cope with the thought of your own death?Calling all you 'older' (ahem) writers out there. Do you find yourself becoming a more melancholy person as you get older? Does your mortality begin to hit home? If it does, how do you cope with it and stop yourself becoming just an old misery guts?

It was a future event that only those who believed in Jesus would see either when they died or were raptured, whilst the remainder of humanity would go to hell. A Christian could be disqualified...

I've read about many different theories about death and what happens. It is the main question that is in the back of everyone's mind. It's very difficult to picture it or to question the point of existence. The fact that we are here is a miracle in itself, who says that some sort of afterlife isn't...

How do atheists fight depression? This is a legitimate question. I'm an atheist and I find that when I start to think about death and the sheer vastness of the universe, I get overwhelmed. The birth and death of the earth (and the human race) is so quick and insignificant in the grand scheme of...
