Like the time I had nodded off at the wheel for a moment and had strayed into the medium and then heard in my ear a voice that said "Wake up son!!" Yeah that got my attention...

It was the Aramaic accent and the slight scent of cloves on the breath smile

          Mmm clove!

By the way, I've always loved to read. One day I was walking toward a corner, nose firmly within some novel I was reading. I looked around, saw a bunch of people standing there, and started to cross the intersection. I DID NOT have the light. A woman on the corner grabbed my collar (she was behind me) and pulled me back just as a bus went by. I don't think her name was Jesus though.

          I did thank her.

My husband had a very close call when he was a child about 9 or 10.  He and some of his friends were playing with matches, dropping lit matches down a street manhole.  Apparently there was gas leaking slowly below the street. Him and his friends gathered around this street manhole peering down about 4 or 5 small air  holes.  There were not enough of the small air holes to go around so he was pushed away, well as he was walking away he felt someone push rather strongly on his shoulder, just as the the manhole exploded, burning badly many of his friends. He feels that he was protected for some reason by God and I have to agree with him.

It's quite likely that was the shock-wave from the explosion, don't you think? After all, wouldn't Jesus have saved the kids who were to be 'badly burned' as well?

To God be the glory for the wonderous works he has done...But yet so sad, we do not give Him the glory and praise He alone is due...Thank you for sharing we do indeed all have different beliefs. But in the end of it all, there can only be..."One Way!" We will see you was right and who was wrong...

Absolutely. It is very very sad that these will never be right. There IS only one way. And we will see who was right - in the end. Well done for pointing that out.

A rebel against a king or government in this world may save himself by taking refuge in another country, but where shall a rebel against God flee for safety? Wherever he goes, even in heaven or hell, he will find God ever present.  He will find his safety only in repentance and submission to his Lord.

I have been saved several times from accidents. One would have been a head on collision as a car crossed a line of cars and sped towards my own.I said:"Jesus!" knowing that it might be my last word. The car swerved then crashed into a wall.Another time I dreamt that I was in an accident.Every morning without failed I woke at 5 a.m.- without an alarm clock- and prayed. On the day of the accident,I could have turned off and changed my route; but I did not.I guess the accident was inevitable.A passenger bus ran a red light and hit my car in the same area- driver's side as I had seen in my dream. However, because of divine intervention, the bus did not hit the door.It missed by mere inches!Although I was charged for the accident, the bus driver was in jail during the court date for the second hearing;and I was acquitted of all charges during the third hearing.

Yes - several times - for instance, one dark night I was traveling home with my children and future son-in-law on a stretch of road we hit black ice.  The car couldn't be turned right or left and was traveling approximately 35 mph.  It had begun to snow, so cars were sliding along this stretch of road.  Ahead of us, about a block away, a brown and white stationwagon was turned across both lanes going in our direction.  There were 4 men trying to push the stationwagon off the road to the ditch on the right.  There was heavy traffic going in the opposite direction.  I could not stop my little toyota corolla and could not get it to turn.  We were headed straight for the stationwagon.  I told the children to make sure their seat belts were snug, because we were going to hit the car and possibly the men who were not moving out of our way.  I am a Believer and a Prayer Warrior.  We never slowed down until we were about a foot from the stationwagon.  Suddenly, my toyota turned to the right and stopped within that foot from the stationwagon.  The men looked at us and continued to push their car out into the ditch.  The oncoming traffic was looking at us and we waved to them as they passed us by.  When the road was clear, I turned back into my lane and we went home.  My future son-in-law kept telling me what a great driver I was!!!  I told him it wasn't me... we had Angels surrounding us!  I am Grateful for His Protection and for Saving my family...

Not me but he has for my son. I went to my moms job to drop off my son to her cause she was going to watch him for a weekend to give me a break since I've got two that are 11 month apart. We decided to go to the zoo while we were there. So we were leaving her job, (a teacher at a Christian School which is connected to a church), and she was carrying my 13 month old son. I went down the ramp with my stroller with Bellanova in it and my mom decided to take the stairs while holding my son Zander. All I remember seeing is her and my son tumbling down cement stairs. The force of the fall made me think that my son was dead or with some serious injuries. Amazingly, he didn't even have a red mark. My mom wasn't so fortunate. She broke her ankle in four places and had to get screws and a plate in it. We later found out that she was very low on vitamin D. They also have found something else but we don't know what it is yet. She has to go to a specialist to find out. So we think that the accident happened so that we would find out about something my mom might have that we wouldn't of known otherwise. The paramedics said my son was lucky to not have any injuries. They said they saw a lot worse from accidents with less amount of stairs and such. They even said that somebody must of been watching out for us.

I was sight-seeing in Ireland and was a bit under the weather, (in the gastric sense, if you know what i mean).  we were taking a tour of a castle when the urge "to go" suddenly hit me.  i pinched my "cheeks" together, and waddled the best i could toward the nearest loo.  when i came to the realization that i might not make it in time, i said, "Jesus Christ!", sort of under my breath and hurried along even quicker.  i managed to make it just in time, and after i sat down and let loose the "big whoosh" i said, "thank god!".

all hail the father and the son, for that was one accident NOBODY wanted to have to witness!

If people have so much faith we can surely forget about safety systems... what need is there for them, if God wants you to survive you will, if not there is no amount of safety that could save you... So in effect are you unfaithful when you wear a safety belt?

That's not so far from the way of things in the (Islamic) Gulf States. People drive like maniacs, often with their toddler unsecured and standing in the front seat. They believe Allah decides who dies when.

Back in my youth we had a welder who preached at my friend and me all bloody day!
We were 270ft up rigging. I was just a kid, and told him if god walked with him, how about both of them walk off the end of the RSJ he was working on!

He held it down a bit after that. A bit cruel I know, but he really was annoying! lol

I know people like that... quite annoying you're right, an ex colleague of mine used to sing hymns during work, this got particularly bad around Christmas time so the rest of us made up our own lyrics to "deck the halls", if you can imagine anything rhyming with "halls" you could join in.

@Poster, I had an accident 7yrs ago on a commercial bike in my country Nigeria; long story...but before we hit the car in front of us(the rider and I). I consciously called the name of Jesus. Guess what?...Believing has always been a choice. Bamm!!! was the last sound I heard and saw myself stayed on air untouched. The rider was badly wounded such that I followed to rescue him out. In fact, some around who saw the accident more than both us wondered how I remained unhurt, no dent. Knowledge is Power. Jesus never hated the rider nor loved me better. The name Jesus could just be a religious name for so many, even meaningless to some but as to many who consciously believe, trust, and put to work the Name Jesus will always dwell in safety. It's a "faith" walk.

Thank you Jesus! Till this day I am thankful to be alive.

December 13, 2005. I had gotten into an argument with my (then) wife very early in the morning and left the house to go to my friend's to stay for the night. I was in the Army and the military frowns on domestic abuse/disturbances so I HAD to leave.

Anyway, I was so pissed that I jumped behind the wheel and headed toward my friend's house. If anyone's been to Germany, you know about the windey back roads and 'black ice' that covers it in the winter months.

I wasn't factoring in the risk, nor the speed in which I was driving (about 225 kph) which is roughly 140 mph or so??? I suddenly hit a patch of ice and immediately the car turns 180 degrees until I am dtiving backwards toward the cliff. In a split second my car upended and began to flip backwards. I rolled and crashed and smacked against every object headed toward the cliff.

The only thing I could think of besides "this is going to hurt," was my family and God. I didn't scream or blink while I was in the air, nor during each moment of impact with the ground. I silenty asked Jesus not to let me die like this.

On or in the middle of the "15 estimated flips" my car did, headed towards another impact with the ground I saw an image of a man, a person underneath my car standing in the spot in which direction my car was headed towards. Everything just felt calm and I knew I was safe. Very hard to explain, but HE stood directly in the spot where I was going to smash after I was coming back down ftom one of the flips.

    I knew it was HIM.

When I crawled out of the car after it came to a rest, I saw the damage and knew it was only God. I was supposed to die that night but God had other plans.

When the Polezei and ambulance arrived they immediately took a breathelizer and thought I was drunk. One of them said "how aren't you injured? You're supposed to have died...someone was looking out for you!"

    It was Jesus. Amen.

Misha, it's funny but I've thought of that actually. I ha....well, I have thoughts, feelings. LOL, I dreamed once that I was 'marked' sort to speak. Not to delve too deep into my 'visions and dreams,' but I thought that maaaybe I was being spared because I had unfinished work. Not relating to 'Godly' tasks FYI.

Funny thing is (no lie) it was dark so I'm not sure, but the 'man' had a dark, gray robe and he had no face, just black.

I told my mom and we discussed that. I'm just not sure Satan would "save" anyone. It's just NOT in his nature....

Of course not. Jesus would have saved you to keep you from going to heaven, but He would not have saved you to stay here in His domain.

You are special and needed here for the work you will do for Jesus in the future. After all - Jesus came down from heaven to save you and you just need to work out what it is you need to do for him.

Seeing as you know what Satan would or would not do - you are already half way there.

Now you just need to decide why you are special and all the dead children in the Philippines are not as special and important as you. Just remember how special and important you are though....wink

Steve and Paul from Walmart are also Satan as well.

My answer to the question has God saved me from an accident... absolutely yes.
First time that I am aware of was when I was a teenager,(1967) driving home after a date on an unfamiliar road.. I woke up, looked at the speedometer .. 90 mph.. saw a sheer cliff about 100 feet ahead. It was an intersection with a stop sigh. A Tee in the road. I don't know why or how but I floorboard the accelerator and made it around the 90 degree turn.
The next day I had to go back and see that intersection. It was no larger of an average city street corner.  No way I could have made that turn without some kind of assistance.

One of the dumbest thought processes (or non thought process)
    around religion.
We have apparently got ourselves a god who "saves" the religious loonies, and lets little children die horribly with the explanation that man is responsible for their suffering.

Prayer works for saving your loved ones, while the rest of the world's innocent are left to die.

How can anyone believe that and not be a megalomaniac!

The brakes when it is properly working saves people from accidents

(I am not joking about this but this is true. When I first arrived here in the US, I take care of my friends child who is studying at that time, and one time, the phone rings and I answered the call. Apaprently it was somebody from school telling me that the boy had an accident at school. I was shocked I thought all along that something bad happened, the boy BM in his pants, thats all. Thought it was the same accident thing and the meaning too)
