By all means...I do! God is a spirit and he had to come to this earth and get in a body to be seen; and he called that body Jesus; Christ meaning the Anointed One. If the devil knew he was God then he would not have crucified him. St John 1:10-11 He was in the world, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

i don't believe for one minute. People that go to church and worship a dead man are wasting their time....

If people want to worship a dead person then they are stupid....most of them get drunk, go gambling or cheat on their spouse and hundreds of other idiotic things, then get up and go to church.....

Hell, sleep in and get that rest you need, let the other fools worship.

I believe in a higher power, but it isn't God, for sure, or any other person. How about a cloud, duh!

People ask where my church family is  and I say they are all dead. It's NONE of your business either. So lets not talk religion as it makes me sick.....

I believe in both Jesus and God, why? because he created me he provided for me and he loves me. All you athiests have nothing to gain for spreading your false words, we have everything to gain for spreading the truth. Its always going to be a battle between us who believe and you who dont, that is until he comes the second time and then we wont have to hear YOUR garbage anymore.

    Thank you Lord!

So, your god created you, provides for you and loves you.

Disproportionally or in defiance, he has created thousands of children and does not provide for them, so they starve to death. Does he love them, too, just as much as you?

How is it that your abundance from god isn't shared with others?

      1. chambersgirl21 profile image59
chambersgirl21posted 14 years agoin reply to this

So easy to blame God for our faults huh. I hope your doing your part to save those children......

I don't blame god for your fault in thanking him for your abundance while others starve to death. I place that blame squarely on YOU.

Clearly, someone has to save them as your god is far to busy serving YOUR needs and fulfilling YOUR abundance to provide them with a morsel of food.

If there is no God why aren't you feeding them? Christians and other people give money and volunteer their time to help, not sit there and blame God(which you don’t believe in) like yourself. What are you doing? If evolution was true how can you judge the death of these children to be wrong? Survival of the fittest right? You’re reaching out for some objective standard(God) that does not exist in your worldview. Stop borrowing from us. Be Consistent.

I'm not the god claimed to be providing all the abundance, if I were, I would feed them all. Perhaps, a key characteristic difference with human compassion when compared to godly attributes.

As you say, "other people" give money and volunteer, not just Christians.

And, had you been paying attention, you would have noticed gods were never being blamed.

If what you say IS true, do we then need to thank gods for our abundance or can we understand it to be an evolutionary process?

I am demonstrating the sheer hypocrisy and bad taste of those who thank their gods for their abundance while others starve to death in abject poverty. Their offensive beliefs that a god provides for them not only insult the intelligence but insult the dying and the dead whose lack of abundance is both puzzling and contradictory of such beliefs.

Clearly, I was pointing out a glaring inconsistency. Please pay attention.

No you're borrowing from Christianity to try and refute it. That's my point. If you believe there is no God so be it the fact that you try to go for an” emotional" plea(starving kids) show you got nothing. Why don’t you feed the hungry? Christians give more that has be proven. Atheist love to try and blame God. If God were to remove ALL evil whose to say He wouldn't start with you... or me. You can't judge God He gave you free will and we must deal with the consequence of our actions in this life and on judgment day. As for evolution.... well you know my response to that but I'll link my hubs for those who may be reading along.

Gladly, but could you ask your god to stop creating those children for a while that we might catch up?

                  Proven only to be hogswallop.

I blame you, not your god.

He would have to remove himself first, then.

I would be happy to stand in front of your god on judgment day and judge him for his evils, but that's another story.

I am just clearifying that, so Eanest doesn't try to trap you in the two, saying you don't know what your talking about.

Atheists love to have you argue yourself in circles over minor points. That way one never addresses the facts, or supporting evidence, of the issue at hand.

There are hundreds of thousands of scientific studies from hundreds of different scientific institutions all converging to examine ideas which are falsifiable, and no theory is accepted as useful unless it fits across all disciplines and is falsefiable. To compare scientific knowledge with any religions belief is a joke.

Well, I have read these answers and I am not confused.  I am fully aware that God is the father and Jesus is the Son.  If you read the book...and you want to know His blessing you can find them. When people do not buy it as one answer was...it makes it easier for them to do what they want to do without guilt, maybe.  I don't know but I guess my question is this...Why is it when something terrible happens to a person...they cry out Oh God?  Do you have an answer for that?  I have never seen anyone who was suffering a horrible experience, one they did not expect but they reach out to a higher power for help for the hurting and relief.  If you haven't, you will.  John 3:16 JKV "For God so Loved the World that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting Life".  "Many are called but few are chosen" is also in the Bible. I would not want to live my life without belief in Jesus Christ. The Bible is not a story book, it is real and I hope that you take the time to look at it differently.  I do not know how anyone could bear this life without praying to the God the Father and Jesus, His Son.  I BELIEVE!

I find this fascinating, so many views but I wonder, do people deny God because of knowledge as of yet unattained? Through out world history, Great leaders have admitted and admonished God. If you look at the bible as a history book rather than a religious artifact, you will find that it is extremely accurate and supports all events as the "why" they happened, the element missing from most textbooks. Everything (Of international importance) is explained or predicted with uncanny accuracy. And in retrospect, approximately 78% of the predictions and prophecies have come to pass. Jesus is found mentioned in history through many text outside the bible, as prophet and messiah. Astrological validations and star charts have re-enforced the timelines coinciding with biblical events. I believe denying God is more a decision based on a lack of study rather than a choice. It's true that if we deny the existence it allows us to incorporate immoral and scandalous activities and relieve us of guilt or shame, but that too shows a lack of knowledge. Its hard enough to live our lives under scrutiny of our peers, with out having to think about an all knowing and all seeing God.

After review of these things and personal experiences...Yes there is a God, Yes Christ was his son, and I hope and pray my beliefs and lifestyle will allow me to be with them when I leave this world. I leave this thought with anyone that might read this. If I live my life with the concepts that God is real (which I do), and find it was not as I thought, then I was a better person for it and that is how I will be remembered. If I live my life in denial and incorporate the morals accordingly, and find that he is real and Christ lives, then there will be literally be hell to pay! I choose the first. Think abut it, where will you spend eternity?

I did not mean to offend you tantrum, I only meant that I believe if one really takes the time to investigate all avenues of enlightenment, that things will reveal themselves. The movie "Star of Bethlehem” was made by an attorney that set out to disprove the biblical account of Christ birth. Instead of supporting his beliefs, he found only immutable truths and solidity of its existence. If we look at space and all it encompasses, how can it and all of its beauty be accidental? For that mater, looking at ourselves and the beauty that exist in and around us, can that be accidental as well? From what basis do we found morality on? If we believe there is no god, and no ever after, then why have dignity, morals, and consciousness. We as humans are instilled from birth knowledge of discernment between good and evil, right and wrong and an inner calling “Back to God” Yes I did say that, “Back to God” for we all start as carnal creatures with an innate desire to return to our creator.

Just as the bible written so many years ago is still applicable with truths and principals that if used will make our life less stressful and at peace; God provides answers for us to the questions we ask: Is this all I am? Is this all there is? To you I pose this, would you want to be thought of as a Godless individual; with no eternal hope or future?  We all have the same wants and desires of life love and the pursuit of happiness. I have seen the light at the tunnel, after a near fatal automobile accident, and was turned back. I know not what Gods plans are for me. I do believe whole heartedly what the future will hold for those whom believe, I know also therefore, the future of those whom do not. If you read my hubs you will see I hold no grudge or judgments, that’s not who I am. I desire only happiness and joy in all I do, with everyone I am honored to come in contact with. My wish for you is one of peace and happiness. I do not regard your choice with disparagement; it is your choice and yours alone. Rather I offer you a request to explore all avenues before making decisions that will affect you through out eternity. Please do not be offended when I say to you from my heart, may God Bless you  fully and completely in the directions you choose.

World leaders can be wrong, too.

No, it hasn't. But, you're free to demonstrate that if you can.

Sheer nonsense. Provide evidence for your extraordinary claim.

No, they haven't, but you are free to demonstrate that if you can.

Jesus is in NO history books as existing.

Again, sheer nonsense. Please provide evidence.

Reading your posts is enough to know one who lacks study.

In other words, anyone who doesn't share your beliefs is evil, yes, we've heard that nonsense before too.

It's as easy as taking a drink of water or making up nonsense.

You will be remembered as a deluded fool, certainly by anyone who reads your post.

Good advice, try thinking for a change. Your post is one most void of any thoughts and is riddled with complete nonsensical claims. Your words further insult the intelligence and everyone who doesn't share your deluded beliefs as you stand atop your ivory tower looking down on the rest of us spewing patronizing and condescending verbal diarrhea.

      Shameful, to say the least.

One of us is right; if it is you then I lived a better life because of my beliefs. But If I may quote: Proverbs 17:28 (New International Version) 28 Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue. I will worship in the way I believe and not make judgment. As Jesus said in Mathew 7 1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

you keep thinking that your being judged? the funny thing is this if people who are truely walking in faith and with GOD then they are simply speaking words from the Bible and in return some people feel like they are being judged funny how that works isnt it... hmmmmm correct me if I'm wrong but obviously if you feel that you are being judged when people are speaking from Bible quotes then its not the people judging you its actually the enemies little ways he likes to twist things around... of course the enemy wants you to think that people of GOD are all a bunch of hocus pocus liars and really are judging you and blah blah blah just to start some sort of "DEBATE" so keep listening to those little thoughts of his and "some of your own" and see how far that gets ya because I'm sure it won't get ya too far living in sinful ways and being a slave to it...

Okay, so how do you explain the fact that Jesus raised the dead, even after they were beginning to rot? As far as I know, no one else has been able to do that.

Also, WHY would Chrisitanity begin in the first place? You can't build a religion on nothing and then have it florish the way it did. Let me remind you that many of the pagans hated Christianity to begin with, until there were so many MIRACLES in the name of JESUS, that even the pagans of days of old started to see the light, and these people had been worshipping their gods for many thousands of years! There were no wars fought so that people converted to Christianity, they did it WILLINGLY!!!
Even my Viking ancestors, who were very no nonsense kind of guys, knew that Thor was finished, when they saw one miracle after another in the name of Jesus!

Just take a moment and think about this! People don't just fall to their knees and begin to worship a God form Israel unless there is a very good reason to do so!!

For these pagans to cringe in fear and wonder in the name of Jesus was monumental!

However, my unbelieving friend, that day will come again. All those who do not believe in Jesus now, will!! Once again the power of the Lord, the POWER of Jesus will produce so many signs and wonders that every man, woman and child will fall to their knees in wonder and awe and know that the Lord God Jesus is the son of God, is the king of this world!

It's sooo exciting, that I cannot wait! How wonderful the world will be once Jesus comes and takes over this world from Satan!

You're right, so it must be a myth, by your own logic.

Perhaps, for many of the same reasons thousands of religions have flourished. So what?

Notice how one religion always seems to come along to replace another, even after so many years. Fascinating, isn't it?

Whoops! Historical books have clearly erred in their labeling of "Holy Wars" and "Inquisition" to name a couple. Maybe they just didn't get the memo.

They were "no nonsense kind of guys" but they believed in Thor.

And, lightning and thunder, too, evidently.

You must be right, thousands of children are falling to their knees every day, so it must very well mean the "POWER of Jesus" is upon them.

          I tingle.

But in the truths of Jesus' word and God's love you are transformed into the love that forgives the hate of oppression, transcends the detestable and destruction of ones environment, and lives the life of love despite the world's lustful desire to destroy you mind, body, and soul.

That really isn't a choice, is it? It's merely the threats of a sinister ideology that demands you join them or die horribly.

But, if that's the case and what you believe, then I'll probably see you in hell since you didn't make the "choice" to join another religion with similar threats.

Well you have no need to shout.  Following along---well that can be said of religions as the bible that you now have is not correct and things have been changed in it so much that it is not like the original text.  It is also stated in the Cononization of The Catholic Church documents that things are to be in the dark and the truth kept from the clergy and parishioners---That is what it says and I am not kidding.  So that being, I have wondered what all they are PURPOSEFULLY keeping from people in their attempt to keep them followers and slaves.  If you read in your bible and you say that you have--then you would know that God only calls certain people--we don't choose anything--we are pawns on someone fiendish game.  Perhaps you should read a much older version then the KJV.  All the angels that were in the bible prior to the 6th cnetury have all but been ommitted from the Bible that you have today.  The book of Enoch was ommitted because the scholars of that day thought the people would get scared---only flaw with that is that most didn't know how to read.  Some other books that were left out--were left out AFTER they put the books together and they didn't want to edit them.  The Catholic Bible has a few more books in it then the KJV ones.  So go figure how many things were screwed up and not even like the orginial when they lie and say they are all gnostic!  Hey, here is one for ya!----Jesus was a Gnostic--grew up that way and yet all those books that are not included in the bible were and are gnostic---make sense to you----not to me.

you can blame MANKIND for most mistakes made in the first place.... that is all up for GOD to deal with. It is quite odd to me and always has been that people argue or "debate" so MUCH over GOD. Always makes me wonder why is this? why is it that SOOOOOOO many people who do NOT believe in him always insist on so much so arguing the fact that he doesn't exist? Doesn't anyone else find it rather interesting? I mean seriously there are other things I'm sure that you must not agree on but put so much energy into trying to convince yourself and others that he doesn't exist! Think about that for a minute and let it sink in real good because honestly if you were an enemy of the supernatural world wouldn't YOU also try rather hard to make so many people believe your lies? especially when you HATE all human beings.. let's not forget that is the reason WHY we have an enemy in the first place.. The devil has no love or compassion whatsoever so doesn't it make sense that he would have so many people convinced? LETS ALSO NOT FORGET THAT THE GREATEST TRICK THE DEVIL PULLED.... convincing the world that he does not exist... which would make those who believe this also believe that GOD doesn't.... people where there is GOOD there is always BAD... you cannot have one without the other and thats with everything... living or not... of this world and not of this world. Now tell me something. what will YOU do when you die and face the almighty? what will your excuse be to his face as to why you didn't believe that it was possible that a being not of our disgusting world loved YOU so much?? because let me tell ya even people who don't believe have a very hard time trying to keep hold of that same belief when they are literally on their death bed..........

Why not? Who said we have to have bad things happen?

I'd kick him squarely in the happy sack and call him a mass murderer and despot, of course. Then, I would judge him for his past evil deeds on mankind.

your beliefs Q will never impact mine and I obviously DONT find it far more interesting that you assume people read their children make belief books or whatever u call it... if I found that more interesting dont u think I would OBVIOUSLY STATE THAT?? the way you people always word things never holds up much of anything and is simply based on your own thoughts and not what you have seen for yourself...not only to mention the simple fact that your ways of debating are always even if slighty overlooking the ACTUAL topic of mine or there fore missing it all together... which just proves my point over and over again... this will continue to keep going in circles and its really rather sad... I come to the simple fact that some people choose not to believe and the Bible tells of what happens to them.... which I also believe... maybe you should actually read your Bible and to say that you don't believe it and what not like so many others say because MAN tampered with it isn't FAIR to GOD.. it isnt HIS FAULT that MAN has chosen to be IGNORANT!!! stop blaming him for mankind and start taking responsibility!!! and for those of YOU WHO KEEP ASKING WHY DOESN'T HE SHOW HIMSELF... well the answer to that is this... IF GOD SHOWED HIMSELF THEN THAT WOULD IN FACT TAKE AWAY FREE WILL.. which is something he gave us and it would take that away because then people would believe and he doesn't want that.. he wants us to have faith... God is very powerful yes BUT you cannot blame him for EVIL works on this EARTH... it is MAN who CHOOSES to do the EVIL deeds... this kind of stuff irritates me that so many don't see it for what it is because its sooooooooooooooooo simple!!!! MAN DOES EVIL BECAUSE MAN HAS CHOICE AND SOME CHOOSE TO DO SO PERIOD!!! where others believe that we have a choice NOT to commit evil acts because God says so makes pretty darn easy sense to me rather then having a million different other theories!!! ill say this again... its simple as cake!!! God loves mankind gave us free will we OURSELVES choose then what we act on... end of story. now u can either listen to your EVIL thoughts and impulses and what not or NOT... either way God exists these things are held up extensivley in the Bible everything in the Bible has soooo many things that talk about these sort of conversations and things taking place in our world today... if you DO NOT believe then that is your choice and I feel sorry for you because SIN IS BLIND therefore living in your sin will only continously keep you blind and u cannot see the truth... of course this being said to you sounds like bs im sure but thats because SIN IS BLIND in all aspects of how we SEE and think is pretty much what that means... and again people like you who don't believe are not for ME to decide for I'am NOT the one true judge and you will face him one day and that isn't my choice to judge you... it is HIS alone and good luck to you on that....

What exactly is blind faith? Jesus proved Himself to Thomas by showing the evidence. Likewise, we have plenty of evidence. Jesus said He would raise Himself from the dead and He did so. Where is the body?

The tomb was closed up with a great stone and sealed with a Roman seal and guards posted. If the guards had fallen asleep, they would have been executed. They knew this and were trained accordingly.

Anyone who breaks the Roman seal would also be executed. Remember the disciples fled when Jesus was arrested. They were cowards and not soldiers.

If the Sanhedrin had taked the body, they would have produced it when the disciples talked about Himn being resurrected. Of course evidence means nothing to anyone who don't want to really see it. No amount of evidence in the world will change someone's mind until that person wants to know the real truth.

A stellar line of reasoning, so well thought out. How silly of me not to have seen it before.

The conclusion for a missing body is that of the dead body being raised from the dead and immediately thereafter, disappearing altogether. I guess we now have an explanation for missing bodies.

            Alert the media.

What bribe is worth dying for? It just doesn't make sense.

              The disciples were not criminals.

You also have the fact that Jesus showed Himeelf to many people after being resurrected, including Saul who was the biggest persecuter of Christians at the time.

You have the writings of others who wrote about Jesus even Josephus who wrote about Him being a man then added, "If it be lawful to call Him a man." That in itself states there was something extraordinary about Him.

As I said above, no amount of evidence will change the mind of someone who doesn't want to see.

Criminals are criminals, and can be bought to do crimes, even by the most distinguished. You fail to acknowledge a great deal of alternatives, SirDent.

So, now you offer zombification as another line of reasoning for missing bodies?

Yes, and here's what John Dominic Crossan had to say about Josephus:

"The problem here is that Josephus' account is too good to be true, too confessional to be impartial, too Christian to be Jewish."

And, I will continue to remain awestruck and dumbfounded by your use of those words.

Jesus raised a man from the dead when he was beginning to rot! In fact, he raised a lot of people from the dead, broguth them right back! He healed the sick, wherever he went, he HELPED people who had no hope, no money. Just imagine someone today going to the homeless and healing them and giving them hope, and bringing back the dead! Can you imagine what the newscasters would say about such a person?

Jesus is coming back to get his believers, to take them to a safe place, and after that, there will be the war of wars here on earth....because Jesus is going after the Devil, and Satan knows his time is coming to an end here on earth!

I can tell you right now, that you will be here on earth to see that war! If you do not believe in Jesus today, then you will have to go through the tribulation, and believe me, YOU WILL SEE JESUS IN ACTION!!! There will be no doubt in your mind, that Jesus is the son of GOD!

Over and over the Bible and Jesus has been proven to exist. When you have a house that is under demonic attack, those demons are exorcised by the name of Jesus Christ! If you want to know the power of Jesus, read the book "The Demonologist" and see what the name of Jesus can do when a house under vile and evil demonic attack!! These invisible, supernatural beings, go running with their tail between their legs when the priest even utters the name of Jesus. I mean come on...these houses are being pelted from rocks out of no where, the furniture is spinning in the air from unseen hands, and there is the most horrible stench you can imagine. And the name of Jesus makes this all go away!

I know the Muslims do not believe in Jesus, but God loves you just as much as he loves anyone else, and you will come to have a very personal relationship with Jesus. He died so that you can live. Everything he did on this earth was GOOD. And, yes, he even raised the dead, after they started to rot! Now, if he is not the son of God, how could he possibly do such a thing? I know of no other person in the history of the world who raised the dead, do you???

You might stop to take notice of the fact that your conclusion in the form of a question is self-evident. In other words, you're right, no one has ever raised the dead, despite Mary Shelleys' portrayal of such an event.

So, to go on as you did attempting to demonstrate your god exists by taking seriously into consideration a book in which the authors who made the claim of someone being raised from the dead AND had never actually even witnessed the event themselves, and then ask the question you asked, finds it rather self-defeating.

Our knowledge has been fileter and we don't know if someone else could and did do that.  Rome burned the Library at Alexandria where they had many books and research into everything you could imagine.  They burned it because they only wanted people to look up to their empire as the empire of everything.  They turned around and told and blamed it on the Jews of that day.  There were books about the human body that will astound you that they knew these things way before christ was even born or thought of.  Do your research.

Hell is not mentioned in the Bible.  I did a search for the word and here is what I came up with:
            1.Acts 6:1
And in these days, the disciples multiplying, there came a murmuring of the Hellenists at the Hebrews, because their widows were being overlooked in the daily ministration,
Acts 6:1-3 (in Context) Acts 6 (Whole Chapter)
            2.Acts 9:29
and speaking boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, he was both speaking and disputing with the Hellenists, and they were taking in hand to kill him,
Acts 9:28-30 (in Context) Acts 9 (Whole Chapter)
            3.Acts 11:20
and there were certain of them men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who having entered into Antioch, were speaking unto the Hellenists, proclaiming good news -- the Lord Jesus,
Acts 11:19-21 (in Context) Acts 11 (Whole Chapter)

Jesus born without a father is a miracle of him and God's power to show to others. Because God is really powerful and can do anything.
Jesus like other messenger of God such as Moses, Jacob, Abraham and etc have their own miracles.

      In bible says:

for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone (James 1:13).
