Best 5 HDTV HDMI Cable

Updated on August 21, 2013

In a few years, HDMI has become the audio and video connection standard for high definition home theater.

It started as an audio/video interface for handling high-definition video up to 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second, released on December 2002.

A single HDMI cable can carry video in high definition (also standard video) and multi-channel digital audio, plus remote control signals.

For the audio, HDMI supports eight channels of 24-bit at 192kHz, enough to handle even the high resolution audio streams, such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

The high speed HDMI cable is capable of delivering high-definition video between for example a disc player BLU-RAY and a Plasma or LCD TV.

The important thing is that there is no digital-analog conversion in the transmission, which generates a loss of quality.

With an HDTV HDMI cable the transmission is digital-digital between the connected devices.
