If you had the opportunity to be an astronaut and go into space, would you?

I would love to bounce around in a space suit and try to eat a banana upside down in the space craft and catch my yogurt and spoon. (wait oops! I dont like yogurt! never mind)

Where are all the boys who dreamed of being astronauts as kids? This is too funny. I personally have no desire to go into space. I forget the name of the movie but it's got an all-star cast and they are old fart astronauts who want to go back up one more time. I think they have some major thing they have to do up there. Clint Eastwood, Tommy Lee Jones. Anyway, the scene where they have to endure all those "g's" -- no thank you. I also don't completely trust NASA anymore. Too many disasters.
Wouldn't mind trying out being weightless, tho! I think there are places here on earth you can do that (?).

It would depend on the money...but I love exploring new areas and how many times in your life does one get to travel to space? The ship better have some dang good food though...

Yeah, I think I would go as well. I think it is because of my preconceived notion that everything is better in zero gs.

Nope! I'm quite happy solidly on my planet thank you very much... neither would you catch me jumping out of a perfectly good airplane either even with the most gorgeously colorful parachute strapped to my back...
I volunteer to stay behind as the "switch-flipper-on-er" when everyone needs to leave the planet. Everyone make a note you saw me offer first

I love to look at the stars above and maybe even fly to Hawaii and back, but I would rather not go to space.  It is fun to watch documentaries about space though.

Space is nice, but you don't have friends and a family in space. Maybe if the trip was only a 2 day look down at Earth, but I wouldn't go further then that.

I had the opportunity to become an engineer, followed by service in the space program, had an eerie premonition and declined - then Challenger blew up. If a new space vehicle program is implemented, I would go up then. Good, meaning no "cheap parts/equipment and no sloppy checkout procedures."
