It is really difficult to speak truth about one's life. We, normally, hide and seek many things of our life. Actually we mask those.
If you can write the right things, nothing can be better. Thanks for bravery.

If you are proud of your life, and proud of your experiences, then by all means, continue to write about them! There's nothing wrong with writing from the heart. smile

  4. thranax profile image72

Well, it's up to you if you want to share that. It normally is more educational if you use your real experiences because you can fully explain it and give a real working example, and not just a made up "simple" scenario. Really, its your call but remember-if it is something you will be ashamed of then think twice about writing it, because anyone can read it-but on the flip side it takes a lot more coruage and will come out to be a better hub/writing if you do use it!

Lawretta, if you want to write about your personal experiences, you are very welcome to.

Just be aware that if you are here to make money, you need to be careful how you write about them.

If you are just going to chat about your personal beliefs and opinions, what happened to you in the past or what you're doing now - that kind of Hub won't earn any money.  You might be better doing that kind of thing on a blog (HubPages is not a blog).

On the other hand, if you're going to write informative articles so others can benefit from your experience - for instance, maybe you suffered depression and can talk about what it felt like and how you conquered it, or maybe you have a blended marriage and can talk about ways to make that work, etc - then those are the kind of solutions people are looking for, so you'd stand some chance of earning from them.

I'm glad that you asked that question. I was thinking about having one of my blogs be about my journeys with Multiple Sclerosis and how I have been getting through it. I thought that I would even offer my advice to recipes and ways of living that might improve not only my condition but other condition too. Perhaps even the different drugs and therapies that I have had to endure and what to expect of them and how to cope with that. Maybe even some natural living advice to link to my greener living websites. What do you think? I'm still new to this whole hub page thing too. You seem to check back to your responses and respond, so I thought you might have some advice on your own advice thread....LOL.

The same applies - if you were just going to chat about your life with MS, I doubt it would get far.  But reading your description of what you're planning, I think it would be terrific!

I'm imaging a network of Hubs, all about MS.  You could put them all in one Group and also connect them by adding links from one Hub to another.   You could then make a central Hub which lists all your other Hubs.

I'm sure there must be forums and chat rooms around the internet about MS.  Once you've got a few Hubs going, join those forums and put a link to your central Hub in your signature.  I'm sure you'd get lots of readers!

Gee, I'm all excited and they're not even my Hubs....!

there's nothing to be ashamed of writing what's true to you. but writing about what is not is shameful even if it's only you who know. but if you're honest and true, and the world thinks otherwise, who cares? cool

Better to publish personal stories on a blog or personal web site instead, that's what I think.  I just had a hub title flagged and had to delete it because somebody thought the title misleading.  I disagreed with this assessment, but there seems to be no one to appeal to.

I feel that writing a hub is too much work to suffer that kind of loss.  From now on I am only going to publish technical stuff, or maybe some occasional humor, but only if it is literally G rated.

My real life experiences are in plenty of my own writings and also in the writings of other people including CJ Stone's hub, columns and books!

I have no worries about it because I like to be honest about things, I think that revealing true information about your life can help others share their own, real experiences make interesting reading, I feel that it helps explain why I am as I am and also that it is therapeutic!

I've just written a hub about my wife being sectioned under the mental health act and this to me I thought was important to highlight that there is support out there and just an outlet to let my feelings known about this issue.

Personal hubs no matter how personal are just something that helps us in a way to get something out of our system...it helps!!

I believe you did the right thing as 90% of us have written about ourselves, to me it makes us more real. It just really depends on who is actually responding as everyone's thought process is different. HP is a stepping stone for many, so you did the right thing. Thumbs Up for sharing!!!big_smile
