My favourtie city is Tokyo. Each season has its different beauty. I love visiting Tokyo during the Cherry Blossom period in Spring as well as their winter. Love the clear blue sky and the crisp air.

Certainly can't go without savouring the good food. It's freshness...and the variety.

In America that would be New York. I found the people to be smart and well rounded.

I don't have a piticular city...however it must have the following:

1)culture and museums, outdoor events like sailing and hiking
    2)low crime
3)lots and lots of trees and mountains
    4)warm climate
5)prefer no beaches because half naked people can be gross
6)and a great church in town

Of the few places I've been, New Orleans is my favorite city.  There is something about it that cannot be explained.  Bourbon street smells like vomit and redemption at 9 o'clock in the morning.  It has its own culture.  The food is amazing.  New Orleans is a city that knows how to survive... and thrive.

Charleston- for the history, the culture, the food, the people.

Seattle- the music, the laid back awesome people, the smell.

New York- the way it makes you feel.

I've had amazing memories in all three and would be happy to live in either of them one day.

New York, I grew up in Queens, I still remember riding the subway in the summer with my sister. It was our playground, we would take a frisbee and generally annoy the adults. No one ever chased us out either. I still remember summers in Central Park watching Pegasus the clown.

Chicago.  The first time I saw Chicago I was on a long layover on the way to Paris.  We hopped on the train and ended up at Grant Park.  It was a cool, sunny September day.  The lake sparkled like diamonds.  We stood around looking like stupid tourists and all sorts of people came up to offer help.  We had lunch at a little bistro, then caught the train back to O'Hare.  Two years later we went back for four days.  We were drawn by the stunning beauty, the friendliness of the people and the many things to see and do.  We plan to go back again.  I've been to London, Paris, New York and some other big cities and I'm here to tell you - there's no place like Chicago!

I love London and New York but for very different reasons. I havent travelled much in America to be able to say anywhere else. But I have travelled extensively around Europe and I would highly rate anywhere in Italy (especially Rome and Florence), Greece (islands rather than mainland) and Barcalona.

I’m one of those people who can never pick just one favorite anything.  I’d say Izmir Turkey is definitely on my short list for favorite places on the planet.  I lived in Incirlik/Adana Turkey, but traveled to Izmir 5-8 times a year for work.  I loved the “little big city” feel of it.  We could walk to so many wonderful restaurants and shops from our hotel, the beautiful Izmir Hilton.  I loved the food and looking at handmade carpets.  Izmir was less than 2 hours from Ephesus, which I was able to visit 4-5 times over a period of 3 ½ years.  Also close to Pamukule, which I was able to visit twice.

Rome is my favourite city in the world.  It is a good walking city, with lots of history, beautiful buildings and good food!  Turin is also a lovely city, with a medieaval centre and a lot of history.  It has the added attraction of the Egyptological Museum.

Possibly the most disappointing city I have been to is Brussels - very dirty with lots of graffiti everywhere.

I have visited most of the major cities in the U.S, and there are some beauties, but by far and above, my favorite city is Paris.
History is in every breath, beauty, love, cobblestone streets, flowers, the city of light. Paris is not just a city, it is an experience.

We should all stop comparing and simply enjoy.

    My favorite cities in order
    Kiev
    st.petersburg
    marrakech
    Santorini
    Nerja
    Geirangerfjord
Us cities are great but they lack the history that the rest of the world has.
Caribbean cities are awesome but for ultimate relaxation and biological explorations.
NYC is on a totally different level you can love it or hate it but it has a massive flow of expanding energy.
Shanghai is indescribable when I saw the ariel flying in i was stunned life changing experience.
i still have to see many places though.

Sydney for its seafood, weather and carefree lifestyle. Check out my hubs and you'll see why.

Bangkok for its food, people and value.

Vancouver for its beauty and rain.

San Francisco for its fog over the Golden Gate while eating fish pies.

London for shopping and hopping onto Europe cheaply.

Sardinia for its bottarga in all its food.

Tokyo for its vibrancy, toro and culture.

Hong Kong for its Cantonese food and 24/7 city life.

Queenstown for its tranquility, skiing and pinot noir.

New York, followed closely by Hong Kong and Las Vegas.

I love them for the same reason - the incredible energy and dynamism.

New York has tremendous culture and diversity, and since I was a kid I've loved everything about it down to the smell. You can never get bored here and the city really never sleeps.

Hong Kong is a fave for its many attractions crammed into such a small piece of real estate. It is also impossible to get bored here and there's a constant flurry of activity at all hours, too. It really helps to know some Cantonese, though, based on my experience.

Las Vegas has a certain kitchy energy that's nice to appreciate as a tourist. People watching is amazing here.

Other cities I've loved: Tokyo, Taipei, Rome, Berlin, Paris, Chicago, Montreal, Bangkok, Sydney, oh, and San Francisco (where I'm moving to in less than a week!)

It's neck and neck between Rome and Vienna. Two magnificent cities, with mind-blowing buildings that tell the stories of people's lives, wars, victories and collapse. The architecture is so awe-inspiring that you don't know whether to cry or keep touching them but I usually settle for a snap.

As cities go...my favorite are: Tucson...or Austin...Maybe Santa Fe...or Estes Park. Small Towns would be: Huntsville, Texas or Brownwood, Texas...But like redneck woman before me said...I much prefer living away from the cities...although I live in Houston at this time...go figure? Favorite Cities to Visit: San Antonio, New York, Washington D.C., Miami, and San Diego. (Galveston and Fredricksburg, Texas for favorite small towns to visit!)

Possibly Redding, Ca because of its ideal location.  It is within an hour from any kind of outdoor activity you can think of from skiing, skating and snow shoeing, to wake boarding, snorkeling, swimming, hiking, spellunking, you name it.

It is a city with all the right comforts and stores but it is not crowded or polluted, it is like a small town but without all the lack of modern technology and shopping availability.

Pleasantly surprised by New York - but 3 days is not long.

Toronto also fascinating - and people stop to ask if you need directions! Scary at first, especially when your default mode is suspicion.

Paris, London, York (the old one - England). All my students who come to York love it. Apparently the second most visited city in the UK after London.

Yes, London - 300,000 French expats can't be wrong!

But to choose between Paris and London isn't easy.
