Hooray!  I got the final click on AdSense to take me to payday (too bad I spent it all at the grocery store last night).  LOL big_smile

I know.  Google just sent me my pin a few weeks ago after almost a year since I joined.  That's how far I am from reaching $100.  But I'm going to get there.  I will.  I'm visualizing that check, dammit!  Haha! lol

Susan, you have 13 Hubs - Steph has 135.  So there's a clue how to get there!

        Congrats Steph!

If I keep going the way I am, I'm hoping to get my first cheque in June.

Congrats! I remember my first check; I was stoked. They start coming at shorter intervals once you start making the money.

Some groceries ARE too expensive. I agree with that very much.

    Cool Steph!
I didn't realize you could actually make that much money (I haven't made any yet). Yeah, groceries are incredibly expensive now!

Way to go Steph!  Yeah!  Gasoline is getting expensive here too.  Hmmm I wonder when I'm going to get paid. HAHAHA

Hi everyone!  Thanks for all the warm wishes.  I've been "offline" most of the day.

Yes, it does take a while - for most people.  I've been here since mid-January and published a fair number of Hubs.  smile

Congrats to you too Marisa - June is right around the corner.  And I'm going to hold you to your advice, Whitney.  LOL

(I'm sorry- I just had to say something silly like that...........I was visualizing Cheerios and the HubPages together...lol..)
Congratulations and heres to more where that one came from...

Hubbios!!  I love it!  (Hey Mikey likes it - OK, so its Life cereal).  LOL.  I told my husband that it was finally paying off and he made a rude remark about what I probably made per hour.... *sigh*

You know, I doubt whether I'm ever going to make a dime off this. I'm having fun with it, and it massages my ego a bit when I see my hit totals going up. My wife, on the other hand, feels like I'm spending too much time on the computer, particularly working on my novel....Now if I can get it accepted by a publisher and get a nice advance check, then I expect she'll be much more excited about me writing other books in the series. My attitude is that it's a hobby that I enjoy, and with all the stress in the world, what harm is there in doing something that makes me happy? I think hubbing is like that too.

I agree with you 100% about needing to find something that can help relieve the stress we all operate under.  If writing and "talking" on Hub is what does it for you--full speed ahead!  I'm sailing in a boat right alone side you!!  smile

Steph - just a suggestion: make sure you are getting paid by paypal rather than a check - which I think they would charge for and will take forever to show up! My first check cam lateApril - but I am now > 1/2 way to the next one : it does spped up :-)

    1. stephhicks68 profile image87
stephhicks68posted 15 years agoin reply to this

Thanks Lissie!  I will double check.  I recall someone on the forums saying that the fee was pretty astounding for a check.

That is super that things are moving along more quickly for you!

Oops sorry I misled you: paid by direct credit to bank account not paypal. It worked OK into my New Zealand  account but you have to get the a/c confirmed first by them posting a few cents first and u confirming the amount and code There was no extra fee and the exchange rate was reasonable - same as I would have paid with paypal anyway

Thanks for the clarification Lissie. I think I'll leave mine as cheque as I don't like handing out my bank account details any more than I have to.

I don't know if Australia is different to other places, but in the Cheque Payment section, I have the option of Standard Delivery (which is sent by ordinary mail) or Secure Delivery (which is sent by courier and costs $24).  Needless to say, I picked Standard!

Remember that will be a US check Marisa and it will cost a fortune to cash and weeks to clear even when it actually arrives!  I figure google ain't just anyone to give my accuont details to: what can happen they can only put money IN after all :-)

Maddie, I'm glad the thread was brought up to the front because I missed this comment!

Lissie, Google pays cheques in local currency in about 40 countries other than the US.  You just have to select the currency in the payment details section.

Hi guys.  Of course it's never too late to extend congratulations, but I've noticed a pattern today of rather old and time-sensitive threads being brought to the forefront.  Please note the original post date before responding to a thread like this.
