Every year I hear the world will end, each time it is a diffrent year, or a diffrent prediction on how it will end. But each year I do not get scared, and I do not fret. If my time is up there is nothing I can do to prepare for it. I just do right by my fellow man today, tomorow, and next year, and not think about what might be.
great prophecies once thought unfulfillable have now been fulfilled. There are only a few left and they are very detailed as to their completion and what it means for the time all of humanity has left.
I think the large cults are going to end. Not the world, not the people, just the belief in group religion. People are already seeing you cant follow men. They will lead you straight to hell. People will finally have enough of the Pat Robertsons and Osama Bin Ladens of this world and finally realize "BY YOUR OWN BELIEF SHALL YOU BE SAVED." People will start following the good sense God gave them and start listening to the word in their hearts instead of the hate and fear spread by men and women.
exactly. the entire point is to show believers it is time to change. to be the beings they were created to be. True, their world will end, the world of limited thinking, limited creation, limited unity with Him. I am convinced that has already begun. One by one, people are turning away from all pointless ideologies (no matter the title).
Interesting how the letter states that their will be in fact a large number who no sin was found in them meaning we will reach the place beyond this idea of economics, buildings, spaceships, etc and return to the place where we were 'Eden'.
Aside from that, end-of-world scenarios are comforting for those who don't want to have to actually make their own way in this warring universe. Lots easier to figure, "Hey, who cares; it'll be over soon, anyway."
I just wrote a Hub on the subject, titled, "The World Will End on December 21, 2012!…and if it doesn’t, maybe we’ll reschedule it for 2016". Out of the 220+ dates scheduled for the end of the world, what makes any upcoming prediction credible?
I think that Jesus was predicting the end of the world for that Hebrew Nation that existed then; and did become non existent in 138 AD. Would stick around and discuss this further but gotta go to work. See ya later ??
That's a shame, isn't it? Well, I guess I'll have to use that time wisely - keep chilling out and procrastinating. Don't be worried too much yourself, every couple of years there's one of those ends, just get used to it and keep reading the Bible.
In my philosophy, there is no end-- only beginnings. An end to our physical world? I say no there as well. According to the Mayan calendar, there is a new beginning coming up in 2012-- a RE-cycling. As in anything, if you only look for an "end"-- that may be just what you'll receive.
My oldest son always asking me of what he had heard at School. Mom...it is true that the End of World is on 2012? What the heck, kid at young ages knows this. As a respond to him...son you don't know what you are talking about. Nobody knows when it is. Please try to focus on your study....okey?
In my belief, it will only effect those of us on earth. I do not know if there are men and women on other planets. If there are they came after earth as per the bible. I do know that there are other planets created with vast varieties of life as it is said, but we were the first humans. Through prophecy I have discovered that we are probably the only ones who "entered into sin" and therefor are the only ones who will come to an end and enter into a new life, only after all have died. There is no evidence that we get some form of a fresh start without an utter end(as stated a few pages back).
All that being said, I'm not preaching an end date. I am pointing out that there are only a handful of prophecies left to fulfill and one of them will be completed within the next five years. The others, who knows.
Just like the Mayans, Just like the End-of-the-World-Cult (a highly Christian organisation in the USA), Just like Y2K, Just like Adso of Montier-en-Der, Just like The Return of Halley's Comet. The list goes on.
Between 44AD and 2009 there have been over 220 known (recorded) prophecies to do with the end of the world. So far 220 have been incorrect.
There is to be a temple built at New Jerusalem, also. As far as I know, there is no evidence of New Jerusalem being established, or a temple being built. Also, the complete demise of the money system needs to take place, which is in Revelation. That could be closer than we guess.
However, there are more prophecies that have not yet been fulfilled yet, and I'm not sure that the "end" means the ceasing of the world and its population. The end could mean the end of old and beginning of new.
There are also signs in the heavens that haven't yet happened. The list is not lengthy but pretty critical. I don't see it as close as perhaps you do, sooner (with all due respect).
What is this guy ON about (meaning the OP)?? There is NOT any attempt to build a new temple in Jerusalem. Geez, I wish people who go on about Israel would actually *study* it...
The idea that the secular state of Israel, which, incidentally, was founded on Marxist/Socialist ideals initially (and that is not a slur, simply a fact of history), would build a new temple is nuts. Man, go and spend some time in the place
This I agree with. Or at least I believe it's the same as my interpretation. For sure, I believe there is no "second chance" after death, and I believe the "Rapture" IS the end of the world. The "Left Behind" books and movie series have a few major flaws.
I have a problem with this whole 'end of the world' thing.
If we are all so evil that this purging is needed ... and if it was all foreseen and predicted when it would occur ... then why let us live on for so many generations after the prediction was made?
To give us a chance to change? All of those that died before us can't change ... their dead.
And of the future generations ... he knew we would grow more wicked, so why let us keep spawning?
How many centuries did God think over the Great Flood? For that matter, how many centuries of warning did man receive that the flood was coming?
I thought I read somewhere that God's judgment was always swift ... so is there a chance this is nothing more than man's judgment being used to control other men?
Think before responding, as the church has been quoted MANY times over the centuries as saying the 'end of times' are upon us, and there were those who claimed to have seen the signs. Why should this time of warning be seen any differently?
yes, but another prophecy might explain why they should not have thought that. And that would be one the one that explains that man will have the ability to destroy all the earth. The same fear all men have about Nukes confirms that.
We don't want to forget about Revelation 17:11 Thur 16 has to be fulfilled. Before the end comes That great city (Mystery Babylon) that rules over the kings will have to be utterly destroyed. When this happens all doubt will be removed as to her identity.
Anyone can predict when the world will end, for example I say 2057. The problem comes when we alter our life course based on unproven knowledge. More dangerous are those that try to accelerate the end by inciting wars and conflicts. Yes, there are stories about religious nuts in the middle east trying to do it now and they are not all Muslims.
Those prophecies of the end are so that we are prepared for them, and most importantly so that we do not follow the beast(devil) as he will confuse many. A man and womans life is at end by the thousands on a daily basis- so I guess preparation is always upon us. In this case however, I am talking about the end of humanity as a whole.
Let me ask you this. How much longer do you think man will let man live? Please consider that most people think Nukes will be used in our lifetime. Now, God says He will not let us destroy what He has created. That is a very powerful message with all things considered.
I think your second paragraph raises a very important issue. The world WILL end about 45 mins. after they empty the silos. There's nothing in the bible that I know of that says man can act as stupidly as he wants to and God will protect him from the consequences. I hope we're smart enough to insure our own survival.
I'm sorry I missed your question earlier. To answer as to why I think that... I haven't read anything written in scripture that specifically says that we do. There are many interpretations that man has made that are just that, "Interpretations". Acording to scripture that is how Satan tricked Adam and Eve. This is his most effective TOOL yet to this today.
actually, Jeremi is partial correct -our 'present' physical limitation will be lifted off when we come to the place where (like Enoch) as having 'great faith'. This is described as the corruptible putting on in-corruption. unrighteous putting on righteousness.
first, who says He is angry at anyone. No one knows if He is, only He.
second, as for the 'end of the world' -a sad thing really, if true. i think it sad that people of such a pure heart of Love would consider -or be elated- at the destruction of any creature or creation.
Plus, it would be a direct violation of His 'Free Will' Act in giving man the choice to live or die, to enter in or be without.
Prophets and prophecy are very powerful things -both honest and false. if you accept the literal word, then you know MANY MANY false prophets would come after Him.
False Prophets are the anti-anointed, appearing to be like the Spirit even to the point of deceiving the elect. Those who know the Spirit will not concern themselves with such things.
For that which is flesh alone is, that which is Spirit is. Why the controversy?
As for "Him striving with man...flesh" : that was true. However, that was under the Law. Now Grace has come and His Spirit dwells in those who KNOW HIM.
The bible is mute. The quoran is too. Nothing at all supports this crazed belief in a god other than the words in a book written about itself, that has a tiny little god who is apparently still in nappies and needs to be worshipped! A bit like some of the religious posters!
earnesthub. the bible is no mute on anything. it has over 300 prophesies filled by jesus alone... his birth , place of birth, his sufferings, his death, his resurrections from the dead.. go to (ciyh.net/blog/2009/12/02/birth & go to prophesies fullfilled & check it against the bible..the bible also tell the earth was round (is.40:22) importance of the blood for life (lev17:11) gravity field of the earth, he hangs the earth on nothing( job 26:7). the end of ages in(matthew 24:1-52)also (luke 21:28) the whole book of revelation (the last book in the bible) tells of the doom to come upon those of the earth, their last chance to repent or be beheaded if they refuse to worship the beast.. this is already happening in areas where christians are being killed for their belief in christ.. we serve an awesome GOD.... we need him he dont need use . he is not some (LITTLE GOD) as you state . may your eyes be open . this is not to slam you but just take the time to look this up for yourself.....
twenty one days
we are each given by GOD the spirit of free will, to make our own choices in life, but we can not serve 2 masters.GOD wants all his creation to live & enjoy life & some of us it takes o little longer to sink in but i have learned that all GOD does & commands us to do is solely for our own benefits. we can choice to live in sin & die or live in faith of eternal life. it our choice.. GOD hates sin and he tells us what is sin in the bible.. with faith we are lost.....GODS 10 commandments are holy & eternal. but we are saved by grace thru faith in jesus..
True, McCoy was introduced to SEC football. How long did he last? Not too long. Seriously though, even Alabama seemed to have been shocked by the loss of Colt. But they would have won anyway. But there's always next year.
Yeah thats it, tough SEC defense that almost let a TRUE freshman whoop em! We will never know who would have won had Colt played, but from the looks of the Alabama players they were not ready for the speed they saw. And as an Alabama fan said after the game "we dodged a bullet" it wont be next year but soon.
Speaking of "dodging a bullet." Watch the last drive of the Texas vs Nebraska game. Lucky the refs threw all those flags and put 1 second back on the clock, or Texas would not even have been playing for the championship. The SEC will win the BCS next year too. I do like the Longhorns though. We'll trade you Vanderbilt for them.
I know being a fan of the SEC you are not use to seeing rules enforced like horse collar tackles, unless of course they are being thrown against Arkansas in favor of Tebow (talk about crying) but in conferences where rules are enforced you will see things like that. Poor kicks don't help matters either, and there should have been one second on the clock, video confirms it. Texas with the first string quarterback running the offense usually wins, what am I saying, always wins. Its been fun but I gotta watch 24 now, DVR you gotta love em.
I don't think that there will be an end to the world. I think that it will be something more like the end of division between two dimensions of reality that has been present on this earth ...??? lets just say from the fall of Adam and Eve. Maybe... The garden of Eden was in that other dimension
Excuse me.. I was just thinking out loud. I hadn't really considered that "Possibility" before. Tomorrow I'll probably wish I hadn't said that out loud.
It is kinda like your football team is ahead by 4 touchdowns. So and you know that there is three minutes left on the clock. Ya might as well head out early and get out of the parking lot ahead of the crowd.
So, the sooner the better for you lot. I guess after America (in the name of god) or the Muslim or Jewish blocks (in the name of god) blow us all up, you guys are all off the planet and "saved"? Did you ever see the movie hitch-hikers guide to the galaxy? Pretty much the same story!
2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 2Pe 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 2Pe 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
I suppose that is possible. In my opinion without studying it out I would say nuclear weapons.
Zec 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
I'm sick of seeing people talk about the end of the world.
In 1970, some dude predicted the end of the world was near. In 1983, the same guy predicted the same thing In 1995, yet again, some dude predicted the end of the world was near In 2004, someone predicted the end of the world was near In 2008, someone predicted the end of the world was near
The world will not end for another 200 years or so.
In the past we have come across similar misconceptions about the end of the world but nothing really happened. i am sure same trend will continue this time also...only advertising agencies will take advantage of these situations and keep revolving these rumors across the globe until it becomes pandemic.....
That is more of an expression...that I have heard preachers/ congregation members use when discussing the scripture Matthew 24: 36. The parable surrounding that scripture at Matthew 24:32 and 24:33 hints that "he will be near"...and "you will know that summer is near...when the tree puts forth its' leaves". I have heard many a sermon that went right into..."so...we will be able to know the season"!
If the world would last yet another 5000 yeare, people are still going to think that these things Jesus said to Peter James John and Andrew was spoken to them. How can that be, we know that when Jesus spoke, that he was talking to you and me... Not someone else 2000 years ago or 2000 years after us ... RIGHT ????????? WHO WOULD EXPECT THAT THESE THINGS THAT HE WAS SAYING APPLIED TO THEM ???? NO that is out of the question!!!! THAT IS A STUPID IDEA ..huh
And here we are today; we caint figure out who he was talking to.... And we caint figure out prophesy as it applies to US.... Go Figure ????
I dont see the reason why there is prophecy, they could have guessed what happened to this world, it gone haywire, I dont believe and never like prophecy it meddles with planning and changed your value system, scare tactics dont work for me, LIVE and LET LIVE hehe,
The problem with the bible is very simple. It is a pack of lies written by men to control those gullible enough to believe the unbelievable, see the invisible and interact with what does not exist. The world is full of people like that, but even a tiny knowledge of psychology reveals this biblical god of yours as a psychopath.
You seem to be missing ONE KEY element. That element is if you want to BRING IN something from a mystical place into our objectively defined reality, then IT IS YOU WHO NEEDS TO PROVIDE PROOF of it's existence.
It's unbelieveable that some people use a sad illogically rationalized belief to establish something inside the realm of reality, which has been defined.
The PROOF doesn't fall on non-believers. They live in their objective reality and KNOW that the "god" concept is non-existent. Why? or How? Because, everything inside our objective reality is DEFINED!
The "GOD" concept isn't defined, except as a mystical, imaginary entity.
So, please......learn what's truth? Before spouting off untruths about what's in the bible, which has already been proven to be nothing more than a history book and mythology books combined.
Prove it? Prove what? That your book is a pile? What do you call someone who, to get their own way threatens to kill or worse? Your gutless stupid little god couldn't get a pie in a pie fight!
The bible is, along with the quoran the biggest pile of filth ever written by man. Why would I bother to provide proof again. Many have, all ignored and followed by scripture as "proof." because there is not one word of proof, and why would there be? There are no fairies at the bottom of my garden. The bible is proof of nothing, you worship a fairy fer gords sake, then you ask for proof it doesn't exist?! A nasty one at that!
I hear all this doom and gloom. When is the world going to end? I must say that I do not know and the truth is neither dose anyone else. People love to talk about calanders from ancient times and they are worthless as far as predicting the end of days because time means nothing to God as far as the way we understand it. As for someone who is a christian our lives are everlasting and when our days are done on this earth we will move on to a better place and because this is something I know I have no fear and will not waste my time worrying about the end of the world. TO know God is to live life without fear. If God is with me who shall be agaist me. As my grandma used to tell me just belive in Jesus and you will be alright. In closing I would like to say that as a person looks at the state of the world one has to hope that Jesus returns soon.
You're a truly good sort, and I mean it about one of us (or both of us) but really you preferably, you've got the knack for more modern subjects, could do a hub on STD...Look up the stats on the Web and you'll see what I mean...
i dunno...STDs don't really fit into my hub topics, heh. if i did write a hub like that i would have to put some sort of spin on it to make it interesting to ME first, as i only write about things that interest me. i hope that makes sense.
Oh, sure, write whatever you want of course and don't write whatever you don't want...didn't mean to sound as if I was telling you what to do, you know best, certainly. You're the writer, and that means YOU and only YOU get to determine the subjects of your art.
The world will end at some stage..Who cares? Focus on your life now, you are here, be present and enjoy, instead of being preoccupied with when the world will end. Given all the hate that exists on earth, it's not much of a loss anyway.
Well Myklee, while they're at it I feel sure they will see the whole picture and tell you to blow it! You have mounted a constant and ongoing stream of abuse to provoke, even constantly called me by other names, I knew you would report me. It is just your speed.
I don't need to report you, you say who you are in your posts. That should be enough punishment for anyone!
No for being someone who constantly abuses others in a totally gutless way that is full of lies and sneak tactics like you have done above. Mindless. Like I said your punishment is being you for all to see.
Being a "someone who constantly abuses others in a totally gutless way that is full of lies" can get someone banned? I do not believe that Earnest. We all see it day in and day out from the same people and they don't appear banned. Holly
Well the fear of the end of the world merely signifies fear of one's own death. The worst thing that could happen to YOU if the world ends is that YOU would die! Even if it doesn't you would anyway. So why worry now?
I do not usually get involved with posts about religion...my faith means too much to me to argue. But if i 'member correctly the Bible says that we ain't gonna know when the end is coming. He says we'll have signs but will not know the day or the hour. Men who claim to speak for God have been one of the biggest blots on Christianity since the beginning. You know, the pride thing and all. There ain't nobody better than anyone else.
Too bad, Tex! Maybe the Longhorns won't have to play anyone from the SEC for a few years. I hope he's tougher than his big bro. HA! Just kidding of course. What's the latest on Colt's injury? I hope he's recovered by now.
Couldn't tell you, he is no longer a player so he goes out with the old. I gotta look to the future, two years and we're back in the title game and I don't care who we have to play! But these damn trips out of state to see the NCG is getting expensive.
So, the Mayans were wrong. Which doesn't mean that the end isn't near. According to Saint Malachi, anyway. His predictions on the popes have been eerily accurate.Once the current pope is gone, do you think that will...
