What triggered all this was FB deleting my friend requests that I had sent to fellow hubbers that I recognized and thought liked me as well. Someone made a false accusation against me, and not only did FB fall all over itself deleting my remaining pending requests, they blocked me from making any more. Screw any site that says guilty until proven innocent.

This made me start thinking about the other social media sites. They really haven't done anything for me either. So I'm scrapping that whole concept for now. It really is a soul-sucking waste of time. Besides, there's always the email route to keep in touch with people. And the forums.

I intend to use all my new free time for more productive endeavors.

    Time to vacuum!

    1. DreamerMeg profile image70
DreamerMegposted 12 years agoin reply to this

But 126 is not divisible by 4, so either 1 cat has only 3 legs or you didn't do all the claws? Or is it that cats have different numbers of claws on front and back feet? We have a cat at the moment and we have had cats most of our married life  (40 years+) but I have never yet trimmed a cat's claws!

      1. DzyMsLizzy profile image73
DzyMsLizzyposted 12 years agoin reply to this

Cats have 5 claws on the front feet, and 4 on the rear., so that's 18 claws per cat.  ;-)   The front feet have a dewclaw, a bit higher up than the pads, much as a dog does.
Our cats are and always have been, indoor-only, (for their own safety), and the claws do not get worn down as they might if the cat were roaming outdoors.  It is cruel and barbaric to de-claw cats (see my hub on the subject, '"So you think you want to have your cat de-clawed?" for the full story), so indoor kitties need to have manicures every so often.  ;-)

Cooked Christmas dinner for 11 people and washed dishes, some by hand and some in dishwasher. That's an easy day this year, mostly it's 15 and sometimes even 20! Just as well this year because we had to take my sister in law in unexpectedly on Christmas Eve, after she was knocked down and broke her elbow. So I didn't do all the preparation I wanted on Christmas Eve. So on Christmas Day when my other sister in law asked if she could help, I gave her my two new sets of salt and pepper shakers and asked if she would fill those for me. Oh dear! With one set, we got salt in both the salt shaker AND the pepper shaker and with the other set, she managed to push the stopper inside the shaker, so that shaker was unusable. Her daughter tried to help and got a finger full of pepper that started her off sneezing! Think I'll start those preparations a week ahead next year.

    Good work, Paradigmsearch!!

I just spent a couple of hours working with someone on developing their website. Thought I was coaching. When it was over and she was gone, I realized that she was wanting me to set up the very thing we at Hubpages (and Google) have been working against. She wanted me to throw up any old content that would let her earn money from Google ads.

It's so funny, because I even coached her in the middle of it about how her content needs to be meaningful, because Google doesn't like it when it isn't. She paid extra careful attention to that, which is what caught my attention later, otherwise I might never have realized what she was really after. Needless to say, she didn't get what she wanted.

For those who are new to Hubpages, here is how you can expect HP to affect your lives. Sunday is my "day off." Went to church this morning and spontaneously decided to go to lunch with a friend afterward. Somewhere in our conversation she told me about a friend of hers who has this off-the-grid farm in the hills of New Mexico.

Instantly I'm thinking, "I could write a hub about this." We quickly ascertained that I'd have to contact him for permission, etc. etc., and I'm telling her I'll send a sample hub, so she can explain to him what the article would look like, etc. So just a warning, newbies. Once you get to writing (and liking it) here, HP becomes like a virus in your life - difficult to shake off. wink
