I'm spending all day on Bubblews, but I cant help but miss my friends here!
We miss you, too. Come back. It's much nicer over here in HubVille!
Maybe it's time to sit down and work out what your hourly rate on Bubblews is, if you're spending so much time there. Bear in mind that once you stop being active on Bubblews, your earnings will trail off to a trickle. Whereas you might feel like you're not earning much here, but a Hub can go on earning for years (I've got one that's hitting six years and $400).
Wow, thats interesting Marisa... What a good point you make.! I am really surprised at how much I am earning on bubblews. But I find it quite draining. I dont even bother proof reading my work as its all about speed. Thanks for the advice.
How can you tell which hubs are earning money?
Are you on the HP Earnings Program? If yes, then you're paid for each visit to your Hub. So the more views a Hub gets, the more money it is making.
I write on both: I make my big money on Bubblews, and my little money on HP...however, as Marissa says, the little money will continue to add up for years and there is much more pride and much less stress. However, I've earned more than $800 on Bubblews since July, so it is hard not to write there...plus, there are many really nice folks on that site also. Anyhow, good luck here and welcome back.
I have noticed that if Im not actually doing stuff on bubblews the money stops. But $800 - wow. That is really encouraging. I think I need to do both. xx
yeah, I noticed that too , I dont spend much time there , just pop in every now and then I like HP better because you know you will get paid with Bubblewes , they can drop you like a fly any second and all your earnings are gone to the wind , too stressful for me, I would rather earn slow and keep earning and know I will get paid
Cute photo to go with your note. You can be on bubblews but come say hi once in a while. We are your family. LOL
Thats exactly what I intended to do i have decided. I would like to be involved in more forums, but when I've tiptoed here previously - I have seen it can be quite harsh. In fact 3 years ago, I commented on a forum and the reply I got back was 'drivel'.. that was from Mark Knowles. I never came back again. LOL
You can be on both. Even when I write on Bubblews I come on here anyway. It was my first "online home."
Is something changed at Bubblews? I stayed offline for a few weeks, and now it seems much harder to get connections. I used to get so many from one Bubble. I made the $50 payout once without much added effort. That's when I took a break. I've been going on Bubblews, but in hours of commenting and liking or disliking, I'm getting very few new connections, and am running low on ideas. Does anyone else see a change or is it me?
I haven't written there in a few weeks, but the last time I wrote a couple of articles, the same thing happened to me. It seems it is slowing down.
The site does slow down and stop from time to time. They're probably paying out too much and need to spend more money on perfecting their browser. I don't reckon it will last for ever, where as hubpages is professional and in for the long haul. Bubblews has really bad grammar etc. In saying that I have gone into bubblews mode and not checked any of my comments here. Ha ha. Hope my grammar and spelling is okay
Im new to it so im not sure. But I got a $50 pay out so quickly. In about a week. Its alot of writing though. I have applied to jobs on Elance to. I was offered a job today but he wanted 10 articles a day, to be written on the topics he sends me via Skype, from Monday to Saturday. All articles to be written within one hour. Now had he not put the time limit I could have probably did what he wanted and he was paying well. But the pressure of the hour scared me off im afraid. My mind will go blank. Jean, my first home was hubpages too. I love it.
I think it's such a different 'kind' of online writing site - you really have to kind of be into that kind of writing for it to work well. Although, if you are - it does work well. But, I find that I get SO bored with Bubblews, sometimes. I skip out on it for days and sometimes even weeks at a time, and then I force myself to go back. I wonder if other writers aren't having that same problem? If everyone was 'active' all the time on Bubblews, we'd all be RICH beyond our wildest dreams, LoL!
I dont so much get bored - I love writing, But the connecting is a little tiresome and I feel thats the only way to earn money on the site and as Marissa said, once you stop clicking the money dries up, where as if you write good SEO here, it will carry on earning long after we have left the building. Your last point is TRUE. lol
Well, Hello Jane....Nice to meet you for the first time. I'm an automatic "friend" now, so you can miss me too!
Seriously, I actually jumped on here just to say that I had been going back and forth with myself about this very thing......should I spend less time here and put more into Bubblews?
I see where all these hubbers have been "redeeming" like mad and making $$$$. I've also read the negative hubs and comments.
Nothing is perfect and certainly not ideal for everyone. It just happens that I guess I'm at the "age" where once I'm happy and comfortable somewhere....I hate to be away for very long.
I surely cannot do both sites equally. I THINK I still have a life....?
Keep racking up those Bubblews dollars!
Hello there my new friend. Lovely to meet you!!! Its Paula isnt it? Do you live near Epi? Doesnt he live near Great Lake Erie? I personally think this site is better, but I need fast money so am trying there right now solely for that purpose. But it defeats the object as I'm trying to build up a presence as Jane Arden (my real name is Lesley) I know... I sound like I have border line personality disorder. I havent. Its a long story. Get this then - On Bubbles Im 'Alice', joke hey. Ha ha.
I did manage to redeem $50 after a week so I have to give Bubblews credit for that. Trouble is I am a short story writer and that doesnt do so well on hubs as i have no SEO so once read, google doesnt find them again.
Life... what life are you talking about? Is there a life outside of the Matrix? LOL
Colin actually lives on Lake Erie in CANADA. I'm in the U.S. He & I may be as close as 2 hrs. apart or 6....depending on just where he's located. I actually live approx 45 min. from the Canadian border into Ontario......but we're talking about a HUGE area. I should ask him one day! Thanks Jane. Always nice to have a new friend. Keep working on that fast money. If you make too much, I'll help you out by taking the over load!! LOL
HIya, I do both! I couldn't get away from hubs kicking and screaming let me tell you! lol! I love it here. But Bubblews is my make money quite quickly site, but I can never find anything really to write about there, but here its all about research and writing 'proper like' as we say over here! So here I am, a hubber through and through....and a bit of a bubbler too!
Exactly Nell. Bubblews is paying me and I need that currently. But from now on I am going to try and at least pop here once a day. Try!!!
I have room in my life for both sites! I enjoy Bubblews a lot; less stressful; more fun to write there!
I just can't be bothered with bubblews. When I spent time on there I found the balance going up quickly but it was more about gaining connections and mutual liking short, pointless articles than any kind of real writing. I have kept the account as I may one day use it for promotional purposes but until then I will only visit when I am mega bored.
Something I rarely am on hubpages
Aw Jane we all love you here and miss you when you aren't around, but we understand your situation. Get as much from Bubblews as you need to then hurry back. I'll still be here. I am tempted to check out that site because of everyone's tales of quick money, but honestly don't have the time. I'll just be happy sitting here writing hubs.
Glad to hear that John. I will quote MJ... 'I love you MORE.' he ha. Its true. I can not wait to get back to writing my short stories and catching up with everyone's hubs, especially your very talented poetry my dear friend John. Hopefully I will be sitting here writing hubs with you soon.
Bubblews seemed cool in the beginning but got old very fast. It seems to be all about connections and likes as opposed to genuine appreciation of content. It's just too much work and I'm not seeing how it can last too long paying money on even the most vacuous of posts.
I also got the feel that people were trolling on here and making Bubblews posts on hubbers questions and content
Hmmm..."Where am I?" *Looks up*
Oh, I am on HP! Thought things looked strange! Kidding. I am here regularly, just not openly as active as I once was.
Yes, I do spend time at Bubblews, but not a terrific amount of time. I publish one post there a week average. It keeps beans on the table to go with the salt I earn from here.
So....don't be missing me...all you have to do is look over there in the corner, in the shadow, by the west window, under the table with the old lamp on it next to the oak bookcase, and there will be I.
Ha ha.. Dale, I have spotted you over there. In fact, I think we may even be connected. I have to admit, Bubblews is paying me where as the 2 years I have been here, not so good with the money. But I much prefer this site even if it does seem to prefer the 'how to bake a cake?' hubs opposed to my boring short stories. x
Hi Jane my friend. You made a good point with the comment that HP does give a lot more accolades and credence to "how to bake a cake" or "how to bath a dog" type hubs than short stories and poetry etc. I have noticed this especially finally with the 'Hubpot Challenge" and the hubs that have been selected in the top 10 each day. This is frustrating for the likes of me when I have put so much effort into my recent hubs for little recognition. Anyway saying that, I still enjoy writing here and the wonderful community. I just wish all types of writing was treated equally. Good to see you again. Keep well.
Hey John. Missed you mate. Listen - me and you - we're artists not 'how to' kinda people. Ha ha. Well that's what I think anyway. I have managed to solve a little of my problems just to let you know.
We're downsizing our flat (cheaper rent) plus I have had work from Fiverr which was great. All I had to do was write some reviews about pets Id had.
As you said, its a wonderful community here, regardless of the rules and criteria, that's why I will never leave this place.
Like you for a start, you're part of this community that makes it awesome.
I have only read one of your Hubs but others looked good. It will be a shame to not read anymore. :-(
I had the exact same thoughts earlier today. Just need to create some balance I guess.

Hello hubber friends.I've been offline a few days because I had a health scare.I had chest pain and nausea and thought I was having a heart attack. I've read enough about heart disease being the #1 killer of women and how we have different symptoms than men, etc. The good news: No cardiac event....

What prompted this thread?I have exactly 700 connections at the moment. The problem? Over 650 of them are total slackers. It's getting to be a tough town over there, leastwise for me. And I've been a good little Bubbler as to treating my connections well.Guess maybe I should start writing hubs...

Many people writing different things. But I and I'm sure that many other people would like to know the potential of hubpages. Thanks for answers.

I'm pulling 2013 kind of randomly, but I really miss how HubPages used to be. It used to be a really friendly place. We used to have kind of an "in" with the administration in that Maddie and Simone would give us advice. There used to be contests to motivate us to write.I understand that...
