The share buttons (FB, Pinterest, Twitter, etc) are seen missing from my hubs. Why? Can anyone help me please?
If you have screen view on magnify or large font, this will push the buttons of the screen.
@Colleen Swan, thank you for the reply. You are right and I got it.
reduce the screen resolution of your desktop. make it 1280x 600
There is a thread related to this change from 3 weeks when the new design was introduced.

Here is a related FAQ we created as well.
http://hubpages.com/faq/#social-sharing-buttons
So, you think our visitors are going to visit the FAQ section to find out where the share buttons are?
To see the buttons, you'll have to zoom out if you have a desktop with a screen resolution of less than 1100 pixels. If you've got a larger screen resolution but are zoomed in for whatever reason, you'll have to zoom out again to see them.
Our visitors know this intuitively.
@Jayne Lancer,
Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately I was unaware of this option and now got it. We learn things through our own ignorance and blunders.
But, you know, I can never see or use the share buttons here on hubpages. I informed this to hubpages staff also and they advised me to share by copy/ paste of my url on all those sites.
You need to resolve that issue urgently since sharing gives you some good traffic as opined by Sue Adams. Recently I found that when I shared an article of other hubber, she got a lot of comments and that means her traffic also increased. Sharing on Pinterest, Twitter and HP may give your article good visibility as well traffic/comments.
For this, I have to purchase a new computer. I asked this problem also with HubPages administration. They told me not to worry. If I can't afford, I may not require to purchase new one. Presently, I am sharing my articles on all social sites with the help of URL. Copy the url of any hub and paste it on the timeline of the social sites.
I am sorry Venkatachari M,
You are still missing the point. This issue is not about how you are able or not able to share your hubs. Has it ever occurred to you that one of your readers might like to share one of your hubs? Well, all your readers with low-resolution equipment cannot see the share buttons and, therefore, cannot share your articles.
Bring back the share buttons to universal visibility!
But we can not fix this problem unless hubpages resolves it. I have no option and I can not buy a new computer.
Exactly. HubPages has to resolve this problem so that all our readers can share our hubs.
Unfortunately, the HP management is aware of the problem and is not going to fix it. Traffic to HP has fallen since this design change (among other design changes made on the same day) was implemented.
Not just traffic, the earnings too showing a very negative tendency. I got my worst earnings ever this month.
Please log in from another computer and find how it looks then. I hope HP people will take care of your issue and you get it resolved ASAP.
It is not "my" issue. The disappearance of universally visible share buttons affects every author on HP since many of our readers cannot find any share buttons.
Yes I agree, I've been affected by the change, especially by no share buttons showing for readers using mobile devices.
Are you joking? How can our visitors find the share buttons unless they are told to zoom out?
That is the whole tragedy. many of our readers think we don't have share buttons so they don't share and we lose many potential views and traffic.
Look below at the "Related Discussions". These forum threads about the missing share buttons will keep cropping up until we get them back into full view for everyone to see and to use like before.

@Sue Adams, I am with you. Thank you.
It is only our personal problem. Our computer width is low than that prescribed by hubpages. So, we do not see the share buttons. But other viewers with high definition computers can see the share buttons. So, nothing to worry.
Of course I'm joking, Sue. It's utterly ludicrous!
Really annoying is that Marina Lazarevic keeps trying to shove down our throats that only 5.9% of our visitors use the lower screen resolution. This, no doubt, is a statistic made to fit her requirements. But, even if true, should we take it that these visitors don't matter?
And what Marina Lazarevic completely fails to mention is that anyone using the higher resolution won't be able to see the buttons, either, if zoomed in. I wonder what percentage they make up. I, alone, know of several people who zoom in because of less than good sight.
I don't understand how anyone could make such a mess, then make excuses to make it seem good and right.
That is not the point.
How do you notify all your readers to "reduce the screen resolution of your desktop. make it 1280x 600"?
You can't. So nobody with the wrong screen resolution will share your hubs.
Bring back the share buttons to universal visibility!
So happy I don't have to deal with the issues here anymore. FYI I see the buttons on every hub I have looked at, even checked some profiles. I have a 17" laptop, windows 7, screen resolution: 1366 x 768 and use Google Chrome.
As for zooming: I tested this as well. 110 percent all is well, the next level is 125 percent and that is when buttons disappear.
On the profile pages, the share buttons are placed inside the sidebar on the top right. But on all hubs the share buttons have been moved to outside the content area to the left and that is why readers who have a lower resolution or are zoomed in cannot see or find them. As for mobiles and tablets...
WHERE ARE THE SHARE BUTTONS???
I only see the 'Also Follow Me On' buttons in this position on profile pages, but no share buttons - not even when zoomed out.
Can't help with mobile or cell phone, don't have any that has Internet, etc.
Sorry, you are quite right Jayne. Those are not share buttons but follow me buttons. There was me wondering why HP allowed all our readers to share our profile page but not our hubs.
Quite justified - nothing HubPages does would surprise me anymore.
Jayne Lancer, this quote is for you:
“Without making mistakes, there won't be lessons learned. Without getting hurt, there won't be knowledge gained. The only way we grow is by learning from the past. Always be willing to learn and grow daily. It's how we come to know who we are and what we are made of.”

I don't think you quite understand. HubPages is telling us this isn't a mistake. Not having share buttons visible to all is intentional.
Try disabling the ad blocking extensions from your browser or try uninstalling them because adblock extensions block them due to the tracking nature of social media buttons.
The problem is screen resolution (less than 1100 pixels wide in desktop mode) and whether or not the visitor is zoomed in if using a higher resolution.
Hi, everybody ! I have found out it after great many days of exercise. Go to the Chrome settings. Click advanced settings. Browse down to web content options. There are two options there. One is for font size and the other for page zoom. Click the page zoom options button and set the zoom level at 90%. Then close the settings page and reload hubpages and click any hub. Now, you will find the share buttons appearing there on your top left side margin of the Hubs. So, now, I am able to share my hubs using these share buttons.
But my pages have become a bit narrower and the letters are also small now on all pages.

Nine months ago a number of Hubbers noticed that share buttons were not visible when using a screen resolution of less than 1100 pixels wide, or when zoomed in on higher screen resolutions (due to poor eyesight or whatever). The reasoning behind this, according to staff, was that only 5.9% of our...

I don't see where else to place this issue--I don't think it's exactly a "bug," but more of a change that was made???At any rate, the problem is, it used to be that when you clicked on any photo in any hub, it would open the photo alone in a new temporary window without taking you away...

I just noticed the Twitter and other social media buttons are missing from my articles, does anyone know why?
by Mary Craig 9 years ago
Is anyone else missing all of their share buttons? I can't even share on HP never mind FB or Twitter. I have no share buttons on my page. At first thought it was my iPad, but its my computer too.

The share buttons seem to be missing from hubs. Anyone else having this problem?
by Don Bobbitt 9 years ago
I tried to share a hub I was reading and Voila! There were no Share buttons on the Hub anywhere. I check with a few others and the same thing is true. Yesterday, Yes, Today, No.
