If you could be either BUT NOT BOTH, which would you prefer?

You only have one choice. One or the other.

I prefer to be RICH!!! Fame can be deadly at times...

Rich. Fame often comes with too high of a price tag. I much rather be rich and lead a relatively obscure life than be famous, and have my every move scrutinized, any day of the week!

Rich and fame sometimes are closely related. For famous people
its easy to stay rich both mentally and financially. One can
retain both fame and richness if one's intention is clear and
stay positive and focus in life.

I'll pick Rich - money can always buy fame or seclusion - whichever you prefer. You can also use your money to make more money..

Fame on the other hand is, as they say, fleeting!

Rich. I don't want fame at all (too bad, my chosen career is likely one day to lead to it if I ever force myself to actually do the work!).

Definitely rich. Fame means less freedom, money means more freedom.

How does fame mean less freedom? ( as opposed to being rich ,that is)

See if I was famous , Id automatically be rich anyway.
So ya got the best of both worlds
Maybe it depends how youre famous too
See I was thinking famous like a "New Invention"  or "Cure for Cancer" and the patent and all that comes long term

        1. LornaDane profile image61
LornaDaneposted 15 years agoin reply to this

Don't go for the cure for cancer every pharmaceutical company in the world would put a hit on you for that.

There are loads of famous people who aren't wealthy and better people for it.
          Rosa Parks
          Mother Teresa
          Ghandi
          Anne Frank
          Harriet Tubman
          Tesla

Then you have famous for being bad.
          Serial Killers
Bank Robbers (the ones who got caught didn't stay rich)
Those two ice skating girls and that guy who got part of his penis cut off.

And last but not least those that went broke because of fame.
          Judy Garland
          Debbie Reynolds
          Bobby Brown
          Buffalo Bill
          Lindsay Lohan

I pick rich because there are so many possible meanings.
          Rich = Abounding

nevermind... but darkside repeated one only many times
Come on its not that difficult  to leave 1 tongue

      Frankly for me.. NONE
Both are Addictive, Ego feeding, kinda Materialistic, Time dependent & need hell lot of "Down to earth" attitude to control them (Esp when they are in plenty) without which i dont feel its worth to anyone.
But to choose one, i choose RICH
That can fetch materialistic happiness and one can enjoy life to an extend depending upon his/her requirement.

Society means a lot in this world and to participate & be its part...one needs Moolah... & the requirement is more when one is a part of a family or those who dont believe in Singlehood ..hehe

Rich - as long as you could guarantee my riches wouldn't bring me any kind of fame. Can't think of anything worse than dodging paparazzi, worrying about my kids security, and having the tabloids pick my life, morals and fashion choices to pieces (my morals and fashion choices don't stand up to much scrutiny at the best of times).
