It seems to take an inordinate amount of time to refresh the Hubtivity and to navigate within Hubpages.....is it just me?

It's terible at the moment, and is just on Hubpages, as other sites are way quicker. I have taken over 5 minutes just to get here.

I've noticed it, too.  But assumed it was on my side.  It takes a long time to process comments and publications take much longer.

I thought it was just my computer...but it's slow on my laptop at home too....think all that hubchallenge stuff damaged the system????   Overload???

Yes I also think that hubpages servers are overloaded. I think there will be a downtime in the upcoming days and hubpages staff will increase their capacity to overcome this problem. Lets wait for them....

Oh, good.  I'm not going blind.  I thought my eyes needed checking.  I posted a comment and a few minutes later (maybe five) posted another one to a different hub.  The hubtivity section said that I posted the first one last.

For me, sometimes when I give answer to a visitor's comment on my hub, it takes very long time and then when I press the submit button twice or thrice, the comment appears two or three times. Then I usually delete the two comments and keep just one..... Has it happened with anyone else?

Yes, I was trying to write a Hub and it's very slow. It ate a lot of my tags first and didn't show my template correctly. It's fixed now but still running slowly.

  10. Eaglekiwi profile image75

    Yes seems slow and different.
My score was humming along nicely tween 95-99 and kept dropping and stayed dropped ,despite publishing and being active.
    Cant figure it at all.

Here another thing I was curious about ,maybe you guys know
If traffic is really good one day ,maybe even two , then drops off ,I dont really get that part .
I mean if a particular hub is good wont it stablise ,rather than hit extremes? double red arrows ,then blip blue.
The reason I was thinking it should remain stable is because traffic is moving 24/7, and not just our individual time zones.
Sorry if I got it all wrong , just one of those , "why is that" thoughts. smile

Am back. Noticed something odd in new hubs. One hub seemed interesting so checked it out. The new hub rated 50. But when I opened it, there were 4 small unlabeled pictures of I don't know what. No writing. A big zero. That can't be right.

slow response rate is a familar issue from my time at ecademy...the popularity of the site combined with scalability of servers is probably the issue although i dont claim any technicalknowledge...

chrome browser seems to be responding well, and I'm using mobile broadband from the uk if that makes a difference.

I wonder if this is why my earnings are WAY down today? Are the ads not loading or something? I've only made .50 cents! Typically at this point in the day I've made around $4...something is really weird...I've been earning really steady the last 2 weeks so to have a day like this is really weird. I hope it's just a fluke and is attributed to the site being slow today.

Anyone else see a decrease in earnings?

    1. BristolBoy profile image66
BristolBoyposted 15 years agoin reply to this

No.  If anything I have seen an increase in earnings!  Similar number of Adsense impressions/clicks as normal, slightly increased value per click.

I'm still having issues, as well.  Very slow day.  Traffic stats haven't moved in hours again.  It moved earlier today, but stopped again.  It seems odd it would affect earnings, though...

  32. BristolBoy profile image66
    BristolBoyposted 15 years ago

My traffic stats aren't changing as often as normal.  For me the website is if anything faster than normal, but then I am in the UK like DennisBarker.  Also I am using Opera browser which may make a difference.

Good to know I wasn't the only one who had things running slow on hubpages...I was thinking it had to do something my computer. Still...that conspiracy theory that R. Blue proposed earlier might have merit. I'm going to be on the look out for extra UFO activity in stratosphere tonight just to be on the safe side...NA NU, NA NU!
