They're a lot more than 7. But I guess saying 7 is catchy is hell. Lying to get chicks is pretty much the most prominent of all, I'll say.
Reason number 1. To avoid a horrible death...
Her: "Darling, does this pants make my butt look big?"
A friend of mine in college used to ask me this all the time... "Does my butt look big? Does my butt look big?"
Finally I just said to her: "Fucking moooo! You're a cow! Can we go out now?"
:-(
[Men can lie, but women need to tell each other the truth...]
1. They've been at it.
2. They want other ladies to believe they are single.
3. Just to make their other half happy. (Honey, does this look nice on me? "Yes, gorgeous", he says without looking)
4. To get in their ladies good books. (Wow, honey you've really lost weight) - Yeah right!
5. They wanna go out with the lads and don't want their lady to start gettng all suspicious.
6. They don't want her to know where he is.
7. Unfortunately, "significant other" came home too early and there's a lady in the wardrobe or under the bed.
Lie is simply a lie. There can't be any good reason to lie, instead of lying men should find 7 good reasons to tell the truth.
Okay, andromida hit on the nose, but what would you tell your child in response to hypothetical situation then?
You can explain the hypothetical situation metaphorically or just explain them that there are certain thing that can be understood only with age,the way the second standard student does not really understand the 8th standard maths.
Here's one:
Child: "Daddy, is Santa Claus real?"
Daddy: "Yes, sweetie. Now go to bed or else he won't come."
I wish he did lie to me. 'Truth is bitter' as they say.
1. To evade arrest
2. To win a large sum of money
3. When asked, "Does this make me look fat?"
4. When it's none of anyone's business
The rest are not good excuses.
5. To avoid an argument.
6. For a pack of smokes...
7. To get laid
There are no good reasons for a man to lie other than hes to chicken to tell the truth!!!
"Do you think I look my age?" is immediate death for the incorrect answer....
are you guys joking? lying sucks, getting lied to sucks. I swear to god, if I ask...do these pants make me look fat?...I really need to know. I dont want to go in public looking fat!!!! And if the person says ..yes..Ill just change my pants! As far as I can tell, there is no good reason to lie.
@ dennisematt - Good for you! In most cases it takes guts to speak the truth, and if you use any of these lines to convince yourself it's ok, you are likely just lying to yourself.
If darkness is the absence of all light, would lying be the absence of all truth?
Do you find me attractive or enjoy having sex with me?
(I wouldn't lie)
"If you promise me youll never die, Ill sleep with your RIGHT NOW!!"
blink blink "I promise, Ill NEVER DIE!!"
does this kid make my butt look big? ha ha!!!
oh yeah, I like your avitar!! no, really, Im not lying.
THANK YOU! I have been playing social Russian Roulette to see what people would do when they saw the crazy pic. Most people have said they don't like it, my dad said he didn't want to read my writing/pictures because he said it was morbid (he dosen't understand speaking out about injustice)...
thanks dennise! I'm not sure if I am morbid, but I'm passionate about humanities, and civil rights. Often I am misunderstood, and the pic just spoke to me about how I feel about people sometimes!
:>
how about 7 reasons that woman lie? its not like men are the only liars. I think all the reasons that have been given for men to lie, are they same reasons that woman lie. I think the question should be why do people lie?
As a dude this is a freaky question..but I'll field it.
Just for the record lying is a horrible thing and cant think of a real reason to do it..but just for banter I'll give it a go.
1. To avoid hurting another.
2. To sound interesting.
3. Insecurity in themselves
4. To avoid a fight
5. For humor, in joking situations.
6. To cast themselves in a better image due to #3.
7. To keep Santa Claus the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny alive and well.
this guy knows how to write and put his thoughts together well....good answer!
My gut reaction was that there are never any "good" reasons for lying, but then I saw 1kmjs' list and realized that sometimes, a white lie is better than the alternative.
Number 1 is debatable, though, if the lie only delays the inevitable and creates false hope.
We only need one that is to keep up with all the lies that women tell.
If he has all these qualities that appear to be not that great then with all due respect- what the heck were you thinking??? LOL
They can lie in the following situations:
1. When telling a client they really like some interior decor thing they are really proud of, but he cannot stand, even though he designed their house or some such thing--for PR reasons.
2. When somebody just needs a sanity break (his sons or me), he can lie and tell whoever they are sick.
3. Lie about a surprise.
4. Lie about boring things I just don't want to hear about.
5. For humor, , in joking situations.
6. White lies, like: "No, I did not eat all of that pizza!," provided he doesn't get TOO fat.
7. Lie to make me feel better--ie, when I know I don't look that great because I'm sick or something, but have to go on with it, he can lie and tell me I do look good. Those would be it.
It sucks when it's lies about something really big like regret or something about your relationship....
1--Not really listening to you, lie to conserve energy.
2--Incriminating question--lie for survival. (ie, Are you attracted to any of my girlfriends?)
3--Lie so you will too. (ie, Please don't tell me about the guys you slept with before me.)
4--Lie because it's fun. (Let's see if how long I can go before she realizes I'm zooming her.)
5--Lie for love. (You are the most beautiful woman in the world to me.)
6--Lie because he can't help it. (The truth? What do you mean by that?)
7--Lie to gain sympathy. (My boss totally started it, he's an evil prick.)

With all of the political hidden agenda, we never truly know what politicians have our best interest in mind. Should all politicians be required to take lie detector tests before and during office?

A friend got a ride with me and when she reached home, she discovered that her son[6 yrs] was 'sweet' with cologne, apparently belonging to his father. She asked him about the cologne, where he got it from,if it belonged to his father, why he sprayed himself with it; and the boy denied everything.When...
