I love this hub by cindyvine, because it contains rich and gritty details about what it's like to live in Africa: My Life Under an African Mountain

Her description of combing her hair while looking at her shadow because she didn't have a mirror is an example of some really great storytelling.

Self-Improvement Tips to Get Out of the Box by Dayzeebee

I love this hub because it gives you a different perspective on how to get out of the box and live life creatively and fully.  Empowering, inspirational, enlightening, informative and life changing!

The link to the hub: http://hubpages.com/hub/Self-Improvemen … of-the-Box

Ryan, thanks for this.  I had a hard time choosing because there are so many wonderful hubbers with wonderful hubs.  It was an agony! lol

I'm going to nominate a hub by CJStone called "We're Here Because We're Here." It's an incredibly moving story of Ivor Cole, who died in WW1, and was seemingly forgotten...

Choosing just one is very hard!

Several of my favorite hubs and hubbers have already been represented, so here's one I don't think I have seen yet: Amanda Severn's Is the future plastic, cheap and shiny? Get fit for Purpose in the 21st Century

This hub is by Cindyvine who has captured the history and horror of Nanjing, China. The shame for the still unresolved issues relating to these attrocites falls not only on the invaders; but also the Western governments, for their apathy.

    Thank you Ryan.

I like Connie Smith's hub for newbies. It is informative and funny at the same time. I think someone new to hubpages would enjoy it and learn how to set up a hub correctly.

    Thanks Ryan!

Christoph Reilly is a character, a wit and debauched ranconteur.  I could pick several of his hubs for pure hilarity, but I'm going to nominate this one because it's not just funny, it's the kind of writing that fosters community (It's got almost 600 comments for Pete's sake).

That's exactly why I suggested to the HP team to indicate WHEN a post originated below the forum topic/thread, where is says who started it.  I can't tell you how many times I've checked out an interesting sounding thread only to realize that it was started several weeks or even months ago...if the started-on date had been on the listing page I wouldn't have wasted my time perusing it...just my thoughts...obviously the HP team ignored my suggestion! smile
