You're my hero, Nelle! Congratulations - I hope someday I'll be at that level, but for now I'd even take a couple hundred a month!
Great news, Nelle! May you exceed your best hopes here at HP.
Hi Again, Thanks for all the congrats and well wishes. Had a great lunch, went shopping with friends, and as part of my celebration I bought a nook - the Barnes & Noble e-reader.
Share some with us. (joking!) Congrats and hope someday I can earn that much.
Your post gives me goosebumps, Nelle! That is so incredible! I'm so tickled for you. You deserve every bit of it. You are an inspiration to us all.
PS. I completed the 30 hubs tonight for the Nov Hub Challenge.
Thank you KCC I just saw your post about your successful hubchallenge, that was a tour de force, I fell a few short but was still pleased to get close. I started so many other websites, that I got a bit scattered. Have to get better organized for December.
You are my new inspiration, Nelle, if I ever decide to get serious here (I work full time, too).
May I ask what your click through rate is for Adsense? I mean, what should one aim for? And just plainly, so I get it--backlinks are essentially 'marketing' your articles elsewhere so that they are ranked well by Google and people also follow those links? Yeah?
Lita backlinks are just links from my blogs to my hubs, that google sees and gives importance to in it's Search Engine Results Page. It's for google and other search engines - not people. Although if done right, I guess they serve both purposes.
With Google adsense I shoot for money targets, I couldn't tell you my click through rate.
Thank you. I actually started my job in marketing the same time I started Hubpages, so, lol, I'm crossing my domains! And since I kinda use the writing on here as a bit of stress relief and write, oh, poetry, its been a bit of a learning curve.
I'm glad to hear if someone really works at it, $$ can be had!
Excellent news Nellie. Not only do your share your wonderful news and the "how I did it..." but you are such an active hubpages participant. You really are an inspiration. Enjoy your success and onwards to another zero or two added to the number! Heck why stop at another two......
Congratulations Nelie - you have worked hard and deserve it!
Holy shit that is awesome! I've only made 8 dollars so far... *tears*
This is a great day for me too Nelle because i'm so happy for you. You really deserve this. But its so good for me too because this is a great inspiration for me. I know its real to make money online here at HP (and i've tried to pull my weight as much as i can), but i never knew one could hit the 4 figure within a year as you have done.
I know there are others as well who hit it effortlessly, but i follow you closely here on HP and i'm glad i do.
Great work Nelle and this is to the 5 figures soon in 2010.
GodBless.
Nelle, you are to be congratulated, that is a tidy sum to help with the bills. You do your job well, they are very clever hubs!
hi great to know it can be done. I have only been a hubber for two weeks and it is a huge learning curve. Stupid question probably but do we have to paste HTML codes on to our hubs. lol Monsa
Wow....... I am really happy for you Nellie. You deserved the best and you have got the best. Congratulations and celebrations.....
Way to go nelle! Glad all your hard work is paying off and heres to many more successful months
well i wanna say congrats, and o.k i will congrats, but i am just pure jealous
Hopefully, one day I can be as financially successful as you writing articles.
That truly is impressive. Congratulations! You worked very hard for it. Success like that doesn't just happen. You have inspired a lot of people today! I hope you have a frivolous thing in mind to spend all your HP earnings on!
Thank you all again. Just remember that I had all the same tools that everyone has. It isn't magic, just keep doing hubs until you find your sales voice. Everyone has one, and everyone's is a little different. But all the pieces are there, it's just a matter of putting them together your way.
That would be the "Marketing Muse" nelle - a sales writers voice I guess? Well done with this achievement - I was looking at your hubs and have to say I'm impressed by how you've structured them as well as the content - do you use a set hub style?
I sort of have a basic one. But I'm playing with the general format a bit. You might notice sometimes there's a lead-in paragraph with adsense only; sometimes there's a lead-in paragraph with ebay and adsense; sometimes there's a lead-in paragraph with both ebay, amazon and adsense. And sometimes there is no lead-in paragraph. Sometimes in place of the lead-in paragraph I've put two columns of products - (very controversial with some hubbers). Sometimes there is nothing leading in. The hubs vary in length from 350 to 1600 words.
And there is a lot more varients. Sometimes I'll put a double column of products in the center a couple of times.
I've written 250 Amazon hubs and about 100 Ebay hubs (They aren't all written under Nelle) in the past 9 months trying to find the best way to monetize two very difficult affiliate programs. And I'm not really satisfied yet.
I do have a lot of affiliate marketing experience, and that has helped me, because once I saw the Google traffic Hubpages gets, I knew there was potential
Hi Nellie, Can you say how long it took you to get up to 1000 visitors per 7 days from Google ?
And very well done with the sales
I don't know about 1,000 google visitors per 7 days. I don't really keep track of stuff like that. I just know how much traffic I want, and I keep pushing and writing stuff until I reach it. I try not to fixate on anything really but money in the bank - so I don't get sidetracked with data paralysis. Which I could very easily.
Nelle, congratulations. It's not even a little bragging. It's nice to let people know they can earn if they do what it takes to earn. A lot of people don't believe that earning much is possible here. I know of a few people for whom $1000 a month is the goal. I'm one of them, but I have some more work to do.
You're right , I have to fight that data fixation thing
I must say your pages are very solid content wise, do you prefer to complete or at least really fill a page with content before moving on?
Well, I think its great and it certainly makes me want to get back to work after the Holidays. Of course, I had an all time high of $250 myself. If I hadn't earned anything, I'd probably be nothing but sour grapes.
Why are you waiting until after the holidays? This is the time to write for Valentines Day, St. Patricks Day, the Olympics, winter sports, March Madness and I'm already starting on Mother's Day. Don't forget graduation, Father's Day and all those year round ideas as well.
The holidays themselves are expensive. I'm picking up extra freelance work to make sure everyone can actually get presents this year.
Also judging by how things have gone, I might have to make an even heavier push for Amazon in the future. $1400 sold in two days this December? I can get used to that.
hi Nelle,
Congrats! That is especially impressive because you've "only" been a hubber for 9 months. I think you just inspired a lot of us, and more importantly, you've shared what WORKS. Thank you!
I enjoy reading about your success. Gives me hope. So much better than reading the so called making money online gurus.
As hard as you work, you deserve, I am so very happy for you!!!
Glad to see the positive results here, im just starting and this is a great incentive to see that real people have real results. Congrats and good luck in the future!
Wow this seems interesting, all I have to say is great job. I just started and this inspired me
That's great, Nelle! You have worked really hard-- and you are smart. Obviously a winning combination.
Well done Nelle, you are definitely doing something right and deserve the rewards
Congrats Nelle - amazing what a lot of hardwork and some knowledge of the right Keywords can do!
Congratulations!
This serves as a great motivation to myself and many hubbers. Thanks for the great tips. It gave me a few ideas...
Congrats - good for you. Interesting that you didn't do keyword research for your big hits. I find that some of the stuff I write from the heart/instinct or whatever, does as well as some that I've spent ages doing keyword reseach on. i think a mix of both is good, though I do target alot of stuf towards keywords and adsense.
Let us know when you jump to $10,000!

Many people writing different things. But I and I'm sure that many other people would like to know the potential of hubpages. Thanks for answers.

How long did it take before you started earning $50 to $100 a month on Hubpages?I try not to think all too much about the earning part on Hubpages since I'm still new here (4 months), but when you're earning literally NO money at all... It's still a bit discouraging.
