   Anyone know any good, unusual pumpkin recipes (the canned kind.)  My sister in law has a cooking contest at her Super Bowl party every year, and picks the main ingredient everyone has to use. This year its pumpkin.

      I can try to find the one that my aunt used to make, it is like pumpkin loaf, almost like zuchini bread or banana bread but pumpkin, it is pretty good. Just not sure if I can find it..lol

    I was gonna write and publish a new hub..I actually wrote 2 yesterday, over 360 some pages worth of notes to go on..but I did not get to it..so hopefully herbalism , chapter 2 or Early Americans and the zodiac will appear on my pages soon..if anyone has a preference on what they would be interested first, please let me know..

       I will have 25 to 50 more of the recipes hubbed for all, I hope you go ahead and print them out..I would take that as an honor..
       Someone has gone ahead and cooked them all up and loved them..
       
       
       don't you wish we could still live the "old way" but have modern conveniences , like electricity..that lantern in the pics is one of the originals that was actually the lamp used in the main room for light, this is why it is in good shape, the others did not make it because they were used to be taken outside for outhouse trips, walks, what was needed..I have tried my best to clean it up and keep it original..I will be adding history and maybe some "stories" , as they called them, with the next few recipe hubs.
       
       I still take it in honor for "Granny" that you enjoy her cooking. I would write a cookbook, since I have some from Grandma's mom and Grandparents, dating back to 1847 ( I opened the tin today, it is the earliest piece of paper I found..it is for Apple Pie and tells how to bake it over your open fire. I also have a handfull of pages on the main things that were preserved, how to do it and how to keep you food and prepare for mountain winters, also preparing the game, from bringing it home to cooking it up.
       
       Because of the wonderful comments like you have left. I will be turning this into a massive string of hubs.
       
       I just want to say Thank You, again for helping me carry on the legacy of the true Appalachian people.

       yep my newest hub, in honor of the grandma that raised me, her appalachian recipes are getting posted, got 25 up and will be working on more, thats the other side of my heritage, not my fathers side that was Hopi..just an FYI for you Steve..one thing I don't think I ever told you much about...sorry I did not see you on before, I had a couple customers who came, bought , talked , and ordered some things.

    To be honest I don't do much fun stuff (or what other folks would consider fun) Not a big Drinker to be honest (2 Beers and I'm asleep), so I go shopping now and again, movie once ion a great while, but mostly hang out at the house...When the weather improves I'm gonna go hang out in the squares and take pics for fun...
