Stacie gave me this idea of starting a thread about being grateful.
I had a great friend who was very very wise. At a low point in my life he asked me to follow in his footsteps. He showed me a cedarchest full of little notebooks. The covers all had dates from---to.  He said the last thing he did before going to sleep is clear his mind with coming up with three things to be grateful for...
I tried, to be honest I'm not as faithful as he was about writing three things daily. I usually only get about 3-4  addings weekly.
Why not try it here and see how far we can get?
I'll start:        I'm so so gratful for my children
I'm so grateful for my health
I'm especially grateful for my new friends here on HUBPAGES

I'm grateful for the people who have impacted me along the journey, and grace god has given me to learn from my mistakes as I continue to make them!

Zsuzy Bee, did you know that Oprah has had a gratitude journal for years?  Seems to have helped her a lot, I think it's a great idea.

I express my gratitude as I go, with extra expressions before I go to sleep....way too many to list here, and some personal, but I have to say that:

I am grateful to be a member of this writing community.

    Thx for doing this ZBee!

This is a wonderful idea.  And, I'm going to start one of these journals.

I'm grateful for my comfortable home.
I'm grateful for my beautiful, sweet, cuddly kitties.
I'm grateful for my husband's health.

    (Not necessarily in that order!)

    I love this idea -
I am grateful for my very patient husband, (who doesn't mind me hanging out here  at hubpages)
My three healthy little girls, my very supportive parents, my comfortable home...
I am grateful that the current troubles in my life will pass, eventually.
I am grateful that spring will soon be here...

I am grateful for coffee at 5 am, coffee at 11 am, coffee at 3  (with a cookie) smile

Zsuzsy Bee, what a GREAT forum topic!

    Two big things:
I'm grateful for our baby girl due in April (Peter, you took the idea right out of my mind!)
I'm grateful for our financial blessings- we're able to own a [mortgage on a] condo, two cars and other things that 99% of people in the world don't have.

After my car accident in December... it TOTALLY changed my list!
This is what I am now grateful for:

    1) That I had one more day to tell my wonderful family I love them
    2) That someday I will walk again
    3) That being at hubpages has given me an outlet while I re-coop!

Feb. 20, 2003, my left foot was cut off between 1/3 - 1/2 the way around at the ankle - on July 4th, 2003, I stood up during a church service and walked unaided ever since. Prayers are going up for you right now, in Jesus' Name.  Hubbers feel blessed to have you here.

      Best wishes,

      Patty

I am grateful for the continuing sense of inner peace for the past 5 years.
I am grateful for my significant other; I actually shed tears of gratitude for this sweet, spiritual man who has helped me in so many ways. Found true love rather late in life, while I kissed frogs,  but the waiting for my prince was worth it! smile
I am grateful for my good health.
I am grateful for the hearing I still have; I can hear music, the wind blow, the birds sing, not as clearly as those with normal hearing can, but I can hear it.
I am grateful for the hub community; what a nice group of creative, intelligent and diverse folks.
I am grateful for the new business my s/o and I have.

Charlotte thanks for sharing. I also declare that that picture should be the official trademark for this 'thread'.
Right now I'm grateful for life itself.
We had a thick peasoup fog this morning, the cold temperatures froze the dropping "fog mist" onto all the vegetation outside. It was like walking in the most amazing wonderland. Absolutely the most beautiful I've ever seen. So I'm grateful for my eyes, that I was able to witness such beauty.

    Wow Zsuzsy!

When I try to think of only a few things to be grateful for, it is so hard to narrow  it down. I am grateful for every blade of grass, leaf on a tree and drop of rain that God graces us with. Therefore, the task is a big one. But, as most people, I am naturally grateful for my very supportive husband who encourages me every day in my business and with my writing. I am so very thankful for my wonderful daughters and grandchildren as well as all family members. And I am grateful for all the people here on HP. I feel as if you have all accepted me as a family member although I haven't been a member long and that is priceless. Your family members kind of have an obligation to accept you but you guys don't. It means so much to me that you have allowed me into the hubber family. smile
