Stacie gave me this idea of starting a thread about being grateful.
I had a great friend who was very very wise. At a low point in my life he asked me to follow in his footsteps. He showed me a cedarchest full of little notebooks. The covers all had dates from---to. He said the last thing he did before going to sleep is clear his mind with coming up with three things to be grateful for...
I tried, to be honest I'm not as faithful as he was about writing three things daily. I usually only get about 3-4 addings weekly.
Why not try it here and see how far we can get?
I'll start: I'm so so gratful for my children
I'm so grateful for my health
I'm especially grateful for my new friends here on HUBPAGES
I'm grateful for the people who have impacted me along the journey, and grace god has given me to learn from my mistakes as I continue to make them!
Gratitude is my attitude...I try! I am grateful for all the times I am grateful because it gives power to my momentum of being more grateful
Zsuzy Bee, did you know that Oprah has had a gratitude journal for years? Seems to have helped her a lot, I think it's a great idea.
I express my gratitude as I go, with extra expressions before I go to sleep....way too many to list here, and some personal, but I have to say that:
I am grateful to be a member of this writing community.
Thx for doing this ZBee!
Shirley
This is a wonderful idea. And, I'm going to start one of these journals.
I'm grateful for my comfortable home.
I'm grateful for my beautiful, sweet, cuddly kitties.
I'm grateful for my husband's health.
(Not necessarily in that order!)
Nice thread Zsuzsy.
My family, present and future (baby girl due in July)!!!
My wonderful pets, Oliver & Alfie.
Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
I love this idea -
I am grateful for my very patient husband, (who doesn't mind me hanging out here at hubpages)
My three healthy little girls, my very supportive parents, my comfortable home...
I am grateful that the current troubles in my life will pass, eventually.
I am grateful that spring will soon be here...
I am grateful for coffee at 5 am, coffee at 11 am, coffee at 3 (with a cookie)
Zsuzsy Bee, what a GREAT forum topic!
Two big things:
I'm grateful for our baby girl due in April (Peter, you took the idea right out of my mind!)
I'm grateful for our financial blessings- we're able to own a [mortgage on a] condo, two cars and other things that 99% of people in the world don't have.
After my car accident in December... it TOTALLY changed my list!
This is what I am now grateful for:
1) That I had one more day to tell my wonderful family I love them
2) That someday I will walk again
3) That being at hubpages has given me an outlet while I re-coop!
Feb. 20, 2003, my left foot was cut off between 1/3 - 1/2 the way around at the ankle - on July 4th, 2003, I stood up during a church service and walked unaided ever since. Prayers are going up for you right now, in Jesus' Name. Hubbers feel blessed to have you here.
Best wishes,
Patty
Patty! I'm grateful to the Almighty for having been there for you. We'll put in that dancefloor on our island too so we can celebrate July 4th in style...zs
Bless you Zsuzsy Bee! What a time we will have!
P.
I so much understand you because something dramatic also happened in my life that I almost died and still undergo the consequences on many plans from health to financial ones
So for all remember Ronan Keating's song "if tomorrow never comes":

I'm grateful for my continued health, the love of the man who saved my life, and great friends who love me no matter how big a meanie I am sometimes.
I am grateful that the Hublove contest is almost over!
Great postings guys...Congrats Peter and wife on a baby girl soon. Congrats Wedding consultants also on a new baby girl.
Here I'm gratefull that a new hubpages generation is in the making hahaha.
I'm gratefull for the fantastic cup of tea in my hands and the great shortbreat cookie soon to be memory. The sun is shining and melting the two thousand foot drifts outside.
Wanda all the strength to you so you will be running soon not just walking.
regards Zsuzsy
I hadn't thought of that: our prospective 2nd generation hubber. Cool.
See that eye above? It's now crying. Thank You Zsuzsy Bee
I´m very grateful to be alive!
I´m very grateful for my daughter!
I´m very grateful for my better half!
I´m so grateful...
Currently, I'm grateful the HubLove contest is almost over. ;-)
Usually, my pups and occasionally my boyfriend.
I am grateful for my children.. my dear, dear children. I love them so much it hurts sometimes.
I am grateful for my health. I have just returned from my diabetes doctor and things are looking OK for me.
I am grateful for my husband and my friends and my family - all part of my big support system on which I rely each and every day.
I am grateful that I live in such a beautiful place with clean air and gorgeous scenery.
and yes, I am grateful that the HubLove contest is almost over!!!
I am grateful that I have gotten to know so many of you too!
I am grateful for the continuing sense of inner peace for the past 5 years.
I am grateful for my significant other; I actually shed tears of gratitude for this sweet, spiritual man who has helped me in so many ways. Found true love rather late in life, while I kissed frogs, but the waiting for my prince was worth it!
I am grateful for my good health.
I am grateful for the hearing I still have; I can hear music, the wind blow, the birds sing, not as clearly as those with normal hearing can, but I can hear it.
I am grateful for the hub community; what a nice group of creative, intelligent and diverse folks.
I am grateful for the new business my s/o and I have.
Great testimony, Patty. Thank you for sharing. I'm thankful for that.

gamer girl, that is such a cute picture! I'll have to show it to my wife!
I'm grateful for the ability to make people smile and laugh, if only by looking at my face.
I showed the kitty picture to her and she loves it.
You're in league with the greats then! - Red Skelton, Jack Benny, Groucho.. all the pros...
That kitten picture is perfect.
Charlotte thanks for sharing. I also declare that that picture should be the official trademark for this 'thread'.
Right now I'm grateful for life itself.
We had a thick peasoup fog this morning, the cold temperatures froze the dropping "fog mist" onto all the vegetation outside. It was like walking in the most amazing wonderland. Absolutely the most beautiful I've ever seen. So I'm grateful for my eyes, that I was able to witness such beauty.
I'm about to have cheese for lunch. Yum.
Charlotte, I love the picture. I have two sweet kitties trying to scramble onto my lap right now.
I'm thankful for Charlotte, AKA gamergirl. She always makes me smile.
I'm grateful for all the friends I've met here, and for the good humor of most of the people who post on the forums.
Wow Zsuzsy!
When I try to think of only a few things to be grateful for, it is so hard to narrow it down. I am grateful for every blade of grass, leaf on a tree and drop of rain that God graces us with. Therefore, the task is a big one. But, as most people, I am naturally grateful for my very supportive husband who encourages me every day in my business and with my writing. I am so very thankful for my wonderful daughters and grandchildren as well as all family members. And I am grateful for all the people here on HP. I feel as if you have all accepted me as a family member although I haven't been a member long and that is priceless. Your family members kind of have an obligation to accept you but you guys don't. It means so much to me that you have allowed me into the hubber family.
I'm grateful to be an American
I'm grateful to live in the great state of Idaho
I'm grateful for a cold beer on a hot sunny day,
and a 5 lb. Salmon on my fish hook
Dude.. I can't see the picture. It's cool. I hate cats (no offense to anyone).
I'm grateful for my girl and grandmother.
Cheese? hehe. My partner loves cheese, so once when I messed up with broiled potatoes, I covered it with cheese, and it turned out to be yummy for him.
