Yes indeed, and Spring is coming soon. That means for those of us in the Northeast US - we can start going outside on the weekend, wOOt!!
Crazy excited. I am attending an all day conference tomorrow for work, so it is a silly way to spend a Saturday...but it is out of the office at least!
Time to start shoveling...
But, like you said it's going to be spring soon enough! I've already started wearing the sandals hoping that it will bring spring faster...
What have I done!? Since WeddingConsultant got out from smilies prison he`s never been the same again .
Great weekend to all hubbers!
Looks like the boy from "A Christmas Story"....
Fun, i'm having too much 'fun' with these smileys!
Oh, and I have you to thank for that!
You created a monster, funride. Your job as mayor is in jeopardy.
funride, do you have snow in Portugal right now? (Is it still on the ground?)
To find snow in Portugal we must go to the top of our highest mountain and even over there it´s not covered with snow the entire winter.
In case you don´t know I live in the best place in the world .
Ask to the thousands of English people who spend all winter in Portugal .
Dummy me! I checked on a map, I should remembered how close Portugal is to Africa, for Pete's sake, and you have similar weather to Southern Italy - of course there is no snow!!!
I went to Spain, and other countries in Europe, but never made it to Portugal. I bet it is beautiful!
Its snowing in Bend, Oregon today. But earlier this week it was spring-like with temps in the mid-60s (F, not C, of course!) And YES - I am really excited for the weekend!
Well, goodbye everyone! Time to get back to reality here in Virginia and get ready for the weekend.
Again, I hope you have a great weekend!
I hope that some of our good weather today can travel through the Atlantic Ocean and warm your weekend!
funride, I hope so. I am sick of having to wear multiple layers. It has been months since I have worn shorts, t-shirts, or a bikini for that matter.
Well I'm off to sunny Houston from cold Vancouver tomorrow for a week of photography at Fotofest. Can't wait to see the sun and not wear a jacket!! Yippeee!!
Have a great weekend everyone!!
I'm even more excited about it being Friday this week because I have a carefree, fun weekend ahead of me!
Oh I love those! Wish I could say I had the same.
At least my WIFE will have a blast- she's got a baby shower tomorrow! YAY for free baby gifts!
I am enjoying this weekend already. Was off work today and I'm also off on Monday. I love 4-day weekends!
Wah! It's Saturday already... I'm nearing the end of my one-week vacation from work.
I'm curious, is the Holy Week also a paid non-working holiday in other countries?
Really? No paid holidays? That sucks. Hehe.
I'm now looking forward to the next non-working holiday, April 9, which is Araw Ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor). Countdown begins on Monday. Haha!
I am so happy it is Friday!
I am so happy it is a holiday weekend and that I will get to see children and grandchildren:-)
The weather is beautiful for those in Southern California! Simply fantabulous!
Bunny report will be that Sunday will be spectacular for egg hunting and Easter Services!
The horizon is awesome for the weekend. I hope everyone is able to get out, see people they love, enjoy the beauty of the earth... and have a wonderful weekend!
I didn't realize you didn't get any paid holidays in the states. We get at least 12 statutory days off a year which have to be paid.
Well I'm back from sunny Houston and now I have a relaxing weekend ahead. Missed the snow though so I'm heading up hiking on Sunday behind the ski hill. Can't wait!! Nothing better than snow and sunshine, except maybe a hot shower after traveling all day in a plane. Gotta love Fridays.
Surely Good Friday is a public holiday in the US?
Paid for full-time employees?
It is supposedly a Christian country, after all ...?
I don't really differentiate between work and play, since I only do work I love to do.
But many of the people I love are more available on weekends and public holidays, so I tend to work a bit less on those days and socialise a bit more.
Unless there's a seminar that weekend, of course - then I do really long days and I love it!
If only we could get everyone out of having to work or go to school Monday to Friday. Life would be so much better.
I get most of the federal holidays off and paid because I work for the state. This means Christmas, New Years, Martin Luther King Jr Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, etc. (not exactly in that order). But, as a state worker, I don't get all of them off. We do get other extra days that Federal workers don't get, like Christmas Eve and the day after Thanksgiving.
I've worked at some jobs where there were less days off. Right now, we don't get another holiday until the end of May.
In the UK we get both Good Friday and Easter Monday as a public holiday which is nice. As to weather we had snow yesterday - unusual at Easter.
Hope you all have a great Easter weekend, whether you are working or not and whether you are basking in the sunshine like Funride or Writeon or wrapped up warm like Rfox
Hey, it's Friday again! whoopie! Anyone have any special plans for the weekend?
My plans are great, tomorrow I´m going to work. I´ll have to drive 250km to get there. The good thing about it is that I´m going with my partner and my daughter and we will stay in a hotel on the top of "Serra da Estrela" (Star Mountain) the biggest one in continental Portugal.
It´s also great because I was not able to work for too much time and now I feel like I´m profitable again .
Great weekend to all!
Yes after a long week of training I am glad friday has gone and passed. It's Saturday now and I'm officially resting...until tonight where we have to have rehearsals for our musical play. :-)
Another Friday everyone! Anyone have fun plans for the weekend?
IRON MAN IRON MAN IRON MAN!
Did I mention I'm going to see a movie?
Err, I get to pay bills, too. WHEEEE!
Saw Iron Man last Thursday (May 1). Really nice special effects. But the movie in its entirety didn't leave my jaws down and my eyeballs popping out like the movie Transformers did. (Transformers really upped my expectations of movies in this genre. )
Oh, and I am so happy it's Saturday today!
Robert Downey Jr. was on The View yesterday talking about his role in Iron Man. I love him as an actor, so anyone who is interested should go look for that on youtube.
I have not seen the movie yet, but I take your word for it. I just saw the interview on The View Thursday. I do want to see the Iron Man .
Haven't seen Iron Man yet but my 4 1/2 year old grandson saw it and thought it was "COOL". Probably wait for it to get to the cheap movies or just rent it. Nothing coming I want to see except Indiana Jones! Love the adventure and Harrison Ford's not bad either!
Anyone planning on doing something fun this weekend?

I've been experiencing a drop in traffic for the last week or so. I've been seeing a lot of people in the forums talking about how they are seeing increases in traffic, but I am seeing the opposite. Is anyone else seeing a drop in traffic?

So in the past 6 months we have all endured a real rollercoaster ride thanks to the big G. Many of us are still really struggling while some of us have reached new heights with our page views. I am happy to say I am in the second group of people, my views are better than they have ever...

Is anyone else having a crazy rainy summer like we are here in the northeast?
by Annette Thomas 11 years ago
There are 10 people signed up. We could use more participants. I know there are more than this who live near the Dallas area. I'm looking for a positive experience and it'll be nice to meet other Hubbers. If you are concerned about the price of lodging, you can get on Priceline and bid for a...
