When we truly like and appreciate someone, their little smile brightens our day. I'd like to thank John Hansen for always being so supportive and kind. He is one of the most generous persons I have ever met. I am forever thankful to him. smile

I bought a book by my favorite poet and friend, John Hansen, and I'm smiling. Thank you so much, John. Anyone who knows him will find the book extremely interesting. I've read nearly half of it. Nonstop! Then I decided to pause and suggest it to all of you. Anyone interested in purchasing it can get an ebook version from lulu.com.

Let's laugh a smile together! smile

I also ordered 'The Creative Exiles: An Anthology of Poems: Let the Words Speak.'
It is a book of poetry by John Hansen and the group of poets at The Creative Exiles. I am sure the book is excellent because I know the people who wrote it are amazing. If you want to buy it, you can find it on Amazon. I am super sure you will love it!

A few months ago, I was going through a rough phase of my life. I was quite depressed at the time and wasn't feeling well enough to post anything on HP. As those of you who know me know, I mostly try to publish positive and uplifting poems, but we are all human and can feel sad at times... At that time, John invited me to write on The Creative Exiles. There, I received a lot of love and support. I bought this book to show my love, respect, and support for the poets at The Creative Exiles, as well as for John.

    Peace and Blessings!

Misbah, you are a dear friend and you humble me once again. ‘I Laughed a Smile’ was published quite a few years back and is a collection of my earlier poems from HubPages. It was my first attempt at self-publishing and I think my poetry has improved since then, but it is good to look back on our earlier work.
It is very thoughtful of you to purchase it as well as ‘Let the Words Speak’ by the poets at The Creative Exiles. Yes, it is a very kind and welcoming community there, and I am glad you felt that.
    Thank you again.

should I do my book as well? been eyeing lulu for a meanwhile now.

just not sure if it will be great as a platform to publish my very first book.

    Thanks for sharing Misbah!

That’s up to you, Gianella. If you use Lulu, you can still sell your book everywhere through Barnes and Noble, Amazon etc. but, I only used Lulu because at the time Amazon (Kindle) did not pay royalties by PayPal or bank deposit to Australia. They only paid by check and charged $8.00 processing for every check they sent out. It wasn’t worth it.
I think Amazon KDP would probably be better.

    Hope you are doing well.

Linda, thanks to Misbah, bringing this to surface after so many years we are in the process of reworking and improving ‘I Laughed a Smile.’ It isn’t available on Amazon As far as I know. The Apple book store, Barnes and Noble and Lulu have it I think.
The Creative Exiles book however is available on Amazon.

    Thanks for sharing Misbah.

It's great to promote each other and I have no doubt that it's great, besides John's modest words stating it was from his earlier poems.

I've often thought about self publishing, but always think i need to have a bigger fan base first.

It takes alot to market these by ourselves.

Creative Exiles seems like I nice place.  John has told me abiut it before, but I just haven't found the extra time yet to commit to it.

Great job John...we are all proud of you and love reading your work.

Bredz, thank you very much for sharing! Yes, The Creative Exiles is a lovely place with a wonderful community... Unfortunately, I haven't posted anything there in 2-3 months because I've been busy with creating my Medium profile and then taking some short courses. But I am always grateful for the love and support I received there. smile

Blessings and lots of love to you!

Didn't even know all these existed. Thanks for sharing. John is my favorite HP poet also. Some of the poems he wrote in response to our requests are unforgettable. All his poems are worth reading again. Putting these on my shopping list. Thank you, John.

Hello Pamela. Thank you so much for your kind comment. I have been trying to revise 'I Laughed a Smile' on Lulu but have been having a few problems converting files etc. I will let everyone know when that is sorted. The Creative Exiles book is fine though.
