Plan heavily for your future happiness.  Learn the skills of food storage.  Learn various techniques of emergency preparedness and survival.  Stay clear of debt.

On your 21st birthday you will be tempted to try to finish a whole bottle of Jack Daniels by yourself. Refrain from doing this. If you do it anyway, don't be surprised when you wake up wearing someone else's pants.

Yes, but I have no children to avenge the situation. Frankly, I'm happy about that--poor kids would be stunted if I had them.

I really would tell myself that, and wish I were not where I am right now--at least in some ways. In other ways, I am exactly where I want to be (but those are mostly professional, educational, and spiritual). When it comes to my home life--I just cannot live with other people...or else cannot live with a man...or else just have gotten a couple of rotten ones. Or something. But it sucks. And I am working on changing it...and if I knew then what I know now, I'd be in a different place.
