I really enjoy being a hubber, the community has allowed me to converse wit other writers and learn from them. It has given me a platform for my work. The comments help to encourage me to keep writing and I have earned a little bit of money too.
I thought that might happen to me too. I thought it would be great for a while but then the novelty would wear off or I'de get bored but thankfully that has not happened and like you said we are still here! I feel very thankful to have found HP.
i am still relatively new to hubs but i have found it really good in terms of quality of people , discussion and i am able to read some thought provoking things out here.. reading forum post too is what i like in hub..
For me HubPages is a motivation to write. To write in a way that hopefully interests other people and in a way that they can understand what I am saying. It makes me check my spelling and organise my thoughts and present them in a certain way. Also it has been a learning curve and I am always happier when I am learning something.
i still have to learn about earnings, can you believe it. I have been on here so long, it took me about a year to work out how to put pictures up......... one day i will work out how to earn, but it does not seem to important at the moment. I know all the info is out there, i just need some tuition on computer one to one. One day i will get it, then you never know i may get rich. why did you choose the name origin..... it is very kind of original .
Well, I just couldn't stay away. Have had a short 2 mo. hiatus, working on a project, and haven't written much during that time. But I'm back and reminded again of how relaxing it is to write what you want, when you want, and how you want. No pressure is right! And lots of good feedback.
I've been here a year and, during that year, have gotten back into my poetry again and been able to experiment with other genres. People are great here, friendly and forthcoming. It's a good place to be.
Hubpages has definitely made me a better writer because of the many great writers here. I see creativity in all forms of writing here. Commercial or otherwise....a lot can be learned from the writers here. Hubpages also has the best format I've found. It is easy to use and looks good. If one comes here to learn...they will. If one comes here to teach....trust me...we can be brats at times.
I love HP! I agree with all of the comments here. I have so many ideas and topics I want to write about and yet balancing writing with the rest of my priorities right now can be challenging.
It gives me a chance to read others work and communicate with people from all over the world which I really enjoy. I think it's a good thing when we can bring our big world a bit closer in understanding and acceptance/tolerance of each others differences. the forums especially do help me to look at issues from different points of view even though I don't always agree.
Tut, tut, oh pompous one! You're hysterical, my friend. 1. Patience! OH yes....it teaches us how to stifle! 2. Forum comments as a laxative : just consider it a colon cleanse. 3. Dating site: Best flirting site for high drama.
Whatever happened to the wife thingy-ma-sucky-jiggy of yours or was that mine? Ya know, I'm getting tired of paying her travel fee just to fly your wife down here from Canada! Sex is so damn expensive these days! Go cook her dinner or something...as I don't have as much time or cash for her anymore. Thanks for sharing, though...
Hubpages has given me a place to publish, taught me about getting traffic and SEO and has allowed me to make new friends even though I am confined to the pens with a chimpanzee and can't get out and about.
I am just now beginning to experience the limitations and boundaries of what can and cannot be done with Hubpages. However, I'm not planning to leave any time soon. I will expand my field of vision to other forums, while maintaining a presence here.
I think Hubpages is an outlet for me to express myself freely. It' also a good place to, perhaps, vent a frustration through writing. It's helped me a great deal to be able to open my articles and see encouraging comments from others. In addition, I have made friends with people from everywhere. It's been a pleasure.
HP has forced me to reconsider a lot of my personal views of life and living. And I think that's actually a good thing. You don't have to agree with everyone, but sometimes it's amazing what you can learn from others if you're open to it.
Additionally, I've focused more on my writing skills, like so many others. And I've made some great friends here. Generally, although I do disagree at times with people, I don't really intend to be overly harsh about anything. I've had enough of that. I come here to destress. learn, and have a sense of community, as much as write.
I can't see the value of posting comments about my own hub although Ive seen many valuable lessons on poetry in the last week sites that have risen in the conficts about new middle east elements versus elements on the value of difference about the dealings with the public eye on various topics in part about the dealings with the different stages of suffering in poverty stricken nations... thanks a bunch..
I've been allowed to read the work of many fine writers, and I've also made some good friends along the way. It has also been fun to put some artwork in the hubs once in awhile. I've made a few bucks here and hope to improve that along the way, but I've greatly enjoyed the people I have found here.
In my profile I have pointed out I am not a writer , I am just a guy with an opinion. I do have some passionate views about things and when I accidentally found hubpages I found an outlet to express myself. I now have also found that my writing skills while non existant prior to HP are now mediocre. And the joy of it all is that I have found some others my viewpoint resonate with. And I am now meeting people from all over the globe. How can that be bad ?
I'm new here and things seem QUITE shifty I should say. My total page views have been 98 for a day or two and today it is 91. Now unless the Earth began a reverse rotation on its axis near the speed of light I doubt we have gone back in time without noticing. So how in the h@!! did that happen?This...
If You Were Granted One Wish In Relation To Hub Pages, What Would You Ask For?I think for me it would be to be able to write high quality, popular hubs in short a time as possible or for some mega publisher to discover my work and like it!! One can always dream!! Have a happy New Year!
What do you like the most about writing articles on Hub Pages? The least? The Hub Pages community is changing daily with the influx of new members and new guidelines. What do you enjoy the most about the opportunity to write here and why?Are there things you would like to see change? Please explain...
I have been on Hub Pages about a year and I have written about 27 Hubs and they have received close to 5000 views, which I felt was not bad and my status hovers between 82-88. Last week I had about 8 of my Hubs featured, which again seemed ok. Now magically overnight, I have all these codes now...
I've been a little down about not having received a payout for nearly two years of participation here, but I'm looking at Triond, another writing site, and I must say how grateful I am for the amount of control I have about how my article looks here at Hub Pages by comparison. When I delete...
