Hi Greek One...that was a long thread....I'm posting my response here.

"I was wondering if you'd be by.  I was just watching CBC and the reports.  I was out all day and happened upon the news.  WOW!!  and I guess there are some pretty violents ones from out of the country - just to cause problems rather than bringing their message.  They'll be on guard all night - 12 hours already!

No kicking ass allowed!  There's enough going on there!

Was that your poster about the kitty cat?...curious...."

Just some anarchists trying to burn a few cars with thousands of others trying to take pics of the action.

If I was a younger man, it being Saturday night and all, I would be heading downtown to go clubbing with some friends, and then know doubt around 3:00 am let out some post-clubbing sexual frustration upon the heads of some of the trouble makers.

...I don't get it - almost 1 billion for security????  and a handful (more than a handful) of trouble makers.  It's not over....

Sounds like a quite a bit of damage was done from what I read (store fronts etc.)  - you know T.O. can be pretty peaceful and non-violent in relation to protests.  I don't like it when protests become violent like that - so far no one has been killed anyway.

Was reading some reports - looks like the main and busiest areas of D.T. were blocked off and/or not an area you'd want to venture into.

And Jazz Fest is happening too? what a drag...

we tend to like to over react a bit.. remember that we called in the army when it snowed a few years ago smile

They sectioned off a large part of the city where all the leaders and their staff are from the middle of last week.. I doubt they heard or saw a thing.

Most people knew not to go downtown this weekend just to be safe and lots of places closed shop  Just the usual windows and cop cars were damaged.. pretty tame compared to other past such summits I think.

Still I would have liked to have seen a group kick the crap out of some of the 'protesters'.. or as I call them "the great unwashed"

well the security measures were because of past summits....but a billion????  why bother holding it - let someone else pick up the tab.

I guess Harper's wife won't be getting a new shiny motorcycle this year!  the old one will have to do - there's bills to pay.

Yea - I remember the snow fall and the army coming.  People should be used to it there.  Now, the west coast is another matter - but even when we have a freak snow fall - the army doesn't come - we're on our own - and have to take off the socks and sandals for a few days and put on some boots for a change!!  Most of us don't even own a snow shovel!  LOL

Well, I'm glad that all should be well there!

Well, Beth- I am really not going to get into it any further. It could lead to trouble. So, with that said- You have a good night sleep and be safe.

@Rafini, I have no problem with sports and yes there are some sports I follow. As for catching, throwing and other things, yeah. I can do it.

But, that isn't my point for laughing at you. My point was simply to get your attention. I find it interesting you hate all sports. I don't like quite a few of them and only watch two myself- baseball and football.

Boston RedSox(baseball) and Dallas Cowboys(football). Otherwise, I have no use for them.

we live 10 minute walk from the beach, and have not been for a walk down there, for almost three months.  It was sooooo hot all day today, so i went about 10.30.p,m.  Perfect temperature.... i forgot just how relaxing the eb and flow of the tide, sounded.   Any one else live  near a beach?

yea - i am around it everyday (the ocean)....but 3 months when it is so close?...you must be busy Joy!  I love checking out the wildlife hanging out especially when the tide is out.

yeah it is amazing how quickly you can take it for granted.  Beaches everywhere here in Ireland, i could walk all the way home from work along the beach if i chose to.

...that's exactly what happens - we take where ever we live for granted.

Me too...I can walk along the water to and from work...sometimes I do...I see the water from my house.  I tend to avoid some areas in the summer because of busy tourist times, but find other out of the way beaches to go instead.  nothing wrong with tourists - just don't want to be around it unless I absolutely have to.

it is a tiny little town i am in.   It does get busy at weekend.  People come and park there car on the beach during the day.   It's not in the least touristy though.    where are you?

I missed this post....I'm on the west coast of Canada - Pacific ocean.  Pacific Northwest - so in most areas the water is too cold for swimming...but there are a few spots to go where the water is warmer.

You don't want to sell it, but you have to? Yet, you reschedule a showing? Have to means you must sell, meaning there is only a limited time for which you can control the sale of the house versus what others will pay for the house or what the bank is willing to take for the house.

I would suggest you do it on your terms, but be quick about it. wink

a friend of mine just emailed me this...

    "A Real Man
A real man is a woman's best friend. He will
never stand her up and never let her down.
He will reassure her when she feels insecure
and comfort her after a bad day.

He will inspire her to do things she never
thought she could do; to live without fear
and forget regret. He will enable her to
express her deepest emotions and give in to
her most intimate desires. He will make sure
she always feels as though she's the most
beautiful woman in the room and will enable
her to be the most confident, sexy,
    seductive, and invincible.

No wait... sorry... I'm thinking of wine.
    Never mind."

I have been to Canada once in my life, so far. I did enjoy myself while camping with a friend's family. It was a great 2 weeks.

Yeah, I know- the question popped into your head- Where in Canada?

I was about 100 miles North of Quebec. I was 11 years old at the time. I have vague memories of the vacation now at 41(turning 42 shortly) years old. smile
