Evening all - have convinced the bloke that I am working hard and he needs to put the kids to bed wink, poured myslef a mahussssive glass of wine, and now I'm ready for some chatting.

Oh and sold 11 things on Amazon today - I totally rock (OK will, didn't sell anything previous two days, but today I totally rock).

Anyone shirking work for a chat?

    1. Cagsil profile image70

Great to hear about the items sold. That's cool. smile

@jenblacksheep, that is certainly an interesting picture for an avatar.. lol

  4. jenblacksheep profile image69
    jenblacksheepposted 15 years ago

I'm supposed to be backlinking, writing a hub or making dinner but ye, I'll chat. My legs hurt from walking to work, standing up all afternoon and then walking home, so I'm not getting off the couch any time soon.

Just noticed a Google ad for Hubpages on a website I was about to backlink on. Thought that was pretty cool, never seen it before.

Congrats on the Amazon sales. I haven't sold anything on amazon since xmas, although I've had more clicks than usual in the last few days.

  5. Spacey Gracey profile image36
    Spacey Graceyposted 15 years ago

Jen - you've changed your pic - is that the real you big_smile

Maybe your extra clicks is the same person psyching himself up to buy something really really expensive smile

  7. jenblacksheep profile image69
    jenblacksheepposted 15 years ago

After all that I got up and made some food. Now back to the comfort of my sofa.

I wish there was a way to see what items they had clicked on. I hope it is one of my big money items. I have something for $255,000 that I found on Amazon, and the best thing is that I wrote a hub and then found that to compliment it, it wasn't a hub designed especially for it ... although perhaps that makes someone less likely to buy.

Yes that is the real me in my avatar, thats why it takes me so long to do anything; it takes a long time for me to process anything in my little monkey brain!! big_smile

Jen - must take you ages to straigthen all that hair in the morning - loving the blonde look though big_smile Which hub has the mega bucks on it - I wanna take a look.

  11. jenblacksheep profile image69
    jenblacksheepposted 15 years ago

I'm not saying which hub it is. Don't want other people stealing my products and then promoting them better than me!! And if you find it please don't say what it is.

I love that photo. I said it was a monkey before but thinking about it I don't think it is. Yes, the hair is quite the chore, if I don't straighten it I look like I've stuck my finger in an electricity socket.

    1. Cagsil profile image70
Cagsilposted 15 years agoin reply to this

Is it on this account Jen. Or another?

If it is on this account, you only have 44 hubs to go through to find out which hub it is... lol lol

  12. Spacey Gracey profile image36
    Spacey Graceyposted 15 years ago

Ok Jen - I understand - hope you know I wouldn't steal it though. I just meant I had no idea that Amazon sold stuff like that. Having a look through it now to get some inspiration - I find stuff that is a few thousand but its products I have absolutely no experience of. Do you know, if it says its available from an external website do we still get commision?

  13. jenblacksheep profile image69
    jenblacksheepposted 15 years ago

I know you wouldn't steal it, but if I write the name of the hub then someone else could find it and there are plenty of people on here who I have no doubt would be able to sell it. I didn't know you could get things that expensive on Amazon, I ignored it to begin with because I assumed it was some kind of con.

I'm not sure if we get commission through an external website, you'll have to ask one of the hubpages boffins. I would have thought that if Amazon don't make money from the sale then we won't make money from the sale.

  14. Spacey Gracey profile image36
    Spacey Graceyposted 15 years ago

Yep that's what I thought, but then why would they list it on their site if they aren't getting a cut?

Gotta go - nice long soak in the bath calling me. will be chatting / working hard tomorrow so maybe see you then. Might've found some mega bucks Amazon stuff by then.

Hey Precious, I am doing well and I hope you are too. I'm not sure when I'll do another challenge. I'm presently re-vamping my Celebrity hubs, so as to keep ads on them.

Apparently, my celebrity hubs were not standard quality, which would be true, because I didn't write much on them. So, now changing that. I have managed to publish one or two articles, since the last challenge.

lol   I think it was quite fun going through it, and I have you to thank for starting it. big_smile  My brain is still functioning, something I thought I might have lost, and the feelings associated with it are kinda scary.

Hey!  I got a compliment in class today - someone in my new group said something like..."I like it that you want things clear cut because it gets us moving in the right direction"   .....at least, I think it's a good thing - some people might not think so......see?  my crazy roller coaster!  lol

            1. Cagsil profile image70
Cagsilposted 15 years agoin reply to this

There is an old saying(I do not agree with, but expand on)-

When trying to explain anything, it must be clear cut and simple to understand.

However, the old saying is all about using the least words as possible. I disagree with it. I say use as many words as required to convey the thought that you want to share with others.

I want people actively using their mind, because it makes them consciously aware of more things and opens up their mind to more learning and the paths it can take them.

Words are powerful when placed properly together to convey a message.

Edit: Congrats on the compliment. smile

thanks smile  (so you see it as a compliment?  lol  I was unsure after class...lol)

I can agree to using as many words as required to explain - in order for others to understand - as long as they aren't redundant.  using the least amount of words is for conveying an important message or to defend yourself.

They arrested him then later while I was closing she decides to hang around out front and threaten me for having him arrested! (Women can be so stupid) So I call the police again and they come and arrest her. Now I will have to waste two days in court over what will not amount to anything any way just because these two idiots can't hold their booze.

Actually, it could have been a lot worse, she could have had a weapon. And, decided to take measures on for herself, because of you calling the police.

It could have cost you your life. The possibility remains, depending on what "he" thinks he is. If his ego gets the best of him, he'll be back to visit.

Especially, from the woman's reaction...tells me she is really used to it happening. Just because they were arrested, doesn't mean they will be prison. It's not guaranteed, even with your testimony. It really depends on their past history.

This might(or probably is) not their first encounter with police. Abusers are always being bothered by cops/police and the police really do not want to deal with it.

      Just a thought.

You are right it could have been a lot worse than it was and I am glad that it did not escalate. You are also right that depending on the nature of these people it could but I can not let those thoughts play a big role in my outlook on the situation or I would likely not be able to return to work.
I have been held at gunpoint and robbed three times during the course of my 20 plus years in retail and I was witness to the cold blooded execution of one of my customers who was sadly unfortunate enough to walk into my store during one of those robberies. If I think to long and hard about these things I would likely never go into another store.

Anyone about - I am still relentlessly persuing the phrase that pays. It is sooooo boring. Distracting myself with F1 qualifying.

Good moods are a good thing! big_smile

Kinda stagnant, I guess. hmm  I'm trying to push myself and it makes me feel like crying so I'm avoiding it....

So, today I turned on the air by 1:30 or so...cuz it was already 84 degrees in the house.  Now it's 80. (I have it set at 77) and the outside temp is 84.

All I can say about the temperature is that it is comfortable. I'm not hot and there is no humidity here. I'm not even sure what the temp is to be honest.

No need to run my air today. smile Then again, I like heat anyways. smile

We're supposed to have a stormy weekend...I know we had a bit of rain last night but I don't know about storms (didn't wake up anyways...) and for tonite there's supposed to be storms coming from Iowa and Minnesota but not reaching all the way to where I am.  Guess I'll find out in the morning. wink
