    The Last Post

The Australian War Memorial, in its section on the Anzac Day Tradition, says 'The Last Post is the trumpet or bugle call sounded at 10 pm each night to inform soldiers that they should be inside their quarters for the night.

It is also sounded at military funerals and commemorative services ... to indicate that the soldier has completed his life's work and has entered into his rest.'

    1. rmr profile image73
rmrposted 17 years agoin reply to this

I don't believe a word of it until I see the photos. It's a clever ploy to take away my inevitable victory! If you are serious about fishing, CS, I know some lovely spots along the Wabash (far from any wi-fi connections).

  29. Shirley Anderson profile image74
    Shirley Andersonposted 17 years ago

RMR, are you saying it's a 'fish story'?

CS' laptop must have a better battery than mine.  Mine only lasts about an hour.

    1. rmr profile image73
rmrposted 17 years agoin reply to this

Having told a few fish stories in my time, I can smell one from a mile away. On the other hand, she may spill coffee on her laptop when the "big one" bites. Another competitor falls from the race. If you're listeneng, CS, I have seen some giant catfish around Indianapolis! Geist reservoir is loaded with 'em!

      1. Shirley Anderson profile image74
Shirley Andersonposted 17 years agoin reply to this

Spilling her coffee on her laptop, thereby eliminating her from the competition....brilliant!

How do we take care of the others?

I think the second hub I published was a fish story, but it quickly fell from grace. If you have a good cat story, they seem to be gaining popularity around here.
