I left quickly, because I have a crazy neighbor.  For so many reasons, I wish I were back in the country.  Medical assistance is better here.  What's a gal to do?

Talk to yourself, GF. It works for me. And then I post it on this thread every night, so everybody who reads it knows precisely how crazy I am.

Join me. It's great. Sort of.

I have a serious question, do people think it is okay to recommend that someone suffering from depression visiting an astrologer to achieve emotional balance?  Not to criticize astrology, but it is not 100% accurate and I know many astrologers out there will take young peoples' money no questions asked.  Am I too critical to feel this way because I just read a hub about it and I was wondering what other people thought.

    1. CherylTheWriter profile image61
CherylTheWriterposted 17 years agoin reply to this

I know little about astrology, but there are scammers in every field, not only online. Depression is a serious medical condition that requires medical care, although not necessarily prescription medications. To recommend that a person suffering from depression visit an astrologer is, in a sense, to practice medicine without a license. At best, it's bad advice.

Emotional balance has little to do with one's stars, as Shakespeare put it. It's chemical and neurochemical., and requires a healthful diet, loving support, slicing through stress, coping exercises such as deep breathing, and possibly either herbal or prescription assistance. (I prefer herbal, as there are much fewer side effects and much lower cost, but I'm not going to practice medicine without a license, either.)

Hello again, SweetiePie. We're discussing pictures and garage sales.

    Good Day to ya-all!
At 6:30 this morning it was clear and sunny then soon after the fog came...just a mild foating bit gradually it got thicker and thicker. It is the weirdest feeling looking out the window and seing only a grey-white soup. As long as I've lived I've never seen anything like it...kind of neat yet almost spookey. Standing outside for a just couple of minutes got me all wet.
hmmm.........I wonder if I could sell a picture of NOTHING to someone? Maybe Dean Koontz could use it for his next book illustration...hehehehe
