You guys remember Hub Tennis?
Well - would you like to play a totally different type of game?
Keep your eyes peeled here on this thread.
You know how a banana starts to go brown and mushy if you partly peel one and leave it out? Yeah, I think that's happening to my eyes.
I was thinking the same-- I always hate peeling my eyes, and would only do it in a surpreme emergency. Besides, the eyeglass prescriptions are expensive.
I'm always game for something new... Lead on fair haired leader... lead on
Peeling...peeling.....pleeeeeeeease entertain me, Charlotte! I'm bored, and can't think of anything to even write about.
See... I dunnooo.... are you folks ready for something new and interesting? I know Hup is, he and I have worked closely on the idea (he had it about a day before me, I bet. His brain is like that.)
With all due respect ...
Spill it already! Before Maddie's eyes get all gloppy and gross and stuff.
*peers in*
What? No details yet? Okies...I'll check back later...
this is not unlike sitting in a doctor's office...c'mon lets have it!!!...
CHOO CHOO!!
Ever wonder what those requests are all about?
Well here's your chance to join the fun. The request train is all about inspiration. It is a way for Hubbers to connect, much like the cars of a train do!
How this works:
Make a request specifically to the person who posted ahead of you by clicking the "Request a hub from [insert name here]" link on their profile. When making your request, really try and make it good - really check out the person's profile, maybe skim a hub or two they've written.
That's it- that person would then answer the request, be given inspiration for a new hub AND, you'd be next in line to receive a request.
So who's in?
Just call me Thomas the Tank Engine, gamergirl...here's your request. Looking forward to getting mine. Feel free to have a little fun with it, Hubbers...I'm all yours!
Tips and Resources For Managing Your Children's Video Game Habits(addiction)
Also, remember to send the request directly to the Hubber through their profile, not just as a general request...that way the Hubber will get a Request email and you'll get one once they answer it.
Who's got something for me? Just be sure that when you post, you give a reply to the person in front of you. You might want to mention who you're requesting as well, just in case someone sneaks in on you.
Also, I say that we give a 3-day limit max for answering, what do all of you think?
And here's yours, Ryan:
How To Do Keyword Research To Produce Popular Online Content
Jenny
Weeeee! A game! And a fun sounding one at that! ^_^ I'm so in!
But wait; how do we pick people and stuff? What are the rules? I don't entirely get it.
You don't "pick" someone really - you make a request from the person who last posted a request. So - for example, you would go to Inspirepub's profile and request a Hub from her based off of what you see on her Profile page.
Oh! Okay, now I get it. This will be great! I'll do my best to make requests! ... After I sleep. ^_^
Come on... who is next? Make your request to Inspirepub and then post here to let everyone know you did it - the first person to post they requested is the next person in the Request train!
----Non-Request Train Comment(do not Request me)----
Also, remember that you just have to initially give the Request, which shouldn't take too long. The Hubber then has 3 days to complete the Hub that you Requested of them. Also, after you give the request, the next person who posts in the Forum will then send you a Request.
Does this make sense?
So, for example, gamergirl posted the Request Train information and I followed it up with a CHOO CHOOOO! and a Request for her about children and video games. She will get an email telling her that I sent her a Request and she now has 3 days to publish the Hud as an answer to the Request.
Then, after I posted, Inspirepub posted a Request to me regarding finding good keywords to Hub about, which sent me an email about the Request and now I have 3 days to publish the Hub and answer the Request.
...and the Request Train keeps on moving along.
Now, someone needs to post a new Request in the Forum that will be for Inspirepub so that she can answer it in the next 3 days. Be sure to look at her profile and previously posted Hubs so that you can get a good idea of what to Request from her.
I hope this helps - just remember that if you Request, then you will be Requested. Also, after you publish the Request answer Hub, post a link to it in the Forums so that we all can see.
Sounds a little confusing, but we'll get it. I think that it will be a fun thing going into the weekend, so have some fun with it and hop on the Request Train when you feel like playing along!
CHOOO CHOOOOOOO!
----Non-Request Train Comment(do not Request me)----
LOL Kika! I didn't mean to send you out book shopping roflmao! I figured with everything you've ever read you'd have this one nailed! *heart u 2*
Mine is up...and I'm sure after reading it, Zsuzsy will regret having asked that fateful question...
Daf - I think you get Inspirepub. She's the last car in the choo choo.
----Non-Request Train Comment(do not Request me)----
Hmmm... confusing...
"Make a request specifically to the person who posted ahead of you..."
I think I'm going to drop out, not because I don't understand the rules, but because I just am not in the mood for it.
----Non-Request Train Comment(do not Request me)----
It's ok, dafla, I'll answer yours, too.
Now, someone post and give dafla a request...we'll get this running smooth in no time.
Maybe if you post something, but you're not posting to be in the Request train you can add something to the beginning of your post like I did here.
----Non-Request Train Comment(do not Request me)----
Awww dafla!!
*hugs* Feel better!
Okay, I made one for InspirePub here about Wicca and the Goddess, which I saw she mentioned on her profile. I want to see her take on it! Have you guys seen her hubs? She's very money-savvy, especially with kids. It's incredible!
Okay Kika - I got you lil sister!
Describe in detail what literary heroine most resembles you as you are now compared to which literary heroine you would most like to be and why
With everything you've read, I bet you can come up with a really great hub on this topic. Have fun with it!
Ah man, this one's so hard! I explain why in the hub, but DANG, SISTER!
I love this topic! It totally made me want to go out and book shop. So I went, after work, and to my dismay, found nothing! Absolutely nothing! Target and Wal-Mart have failed me! Then again, Wally World always fails me, but Target?! I nearly broke down and cried! I had to call my best friend before I went crazy! She didn't answer, so I sent her a text saying "Help! I'm having a literary crisis!" All she said back was, "Well, I'm not surprised. You do go through books like Pooh goes through honey."
Thanks a lot, Spryte. Now I have to wait until Sunday to go book shopping down in the cities. Why couldn't you have waited until TOMORROW NIGHT to give me this request, so I wouldn't be biting my nails in anticipation as long? *pouts*
lol I still heart you anyway.
----Non-Request Train Comment(do not Request me)----
I see what you are up to Zsuzsy....
Spryte just for you! This will just up your alley...
"Life with a pet squirrel named Fluffy!" I checked your hub list and I didn't see one about your pocket full of squirrel.
----Non-Request Train Comment(do not Request me)----
LOL! As soon as I saw that request go up I went..."Hey! Somebody else has a pet squirrel named Fluffy...uh...uh oh."
Thank you for that request...I think I'll have a lot of fun explaining that whole thing...
----Non-Request Train Comment(do not Request me)----
I think this will work, just add this before any non-Request Train comments while posting in this forum thread. Make sense?
Not to worry I can sit this one out and take the next train out... no big deal zs
For Dafla: How to lower day-to-day transportation costs (repairs, gas, etc.), and/or alternate transportation.
She's got great hubs on frugal living.
----Non-Request Train Comment(do not Request me)----
Well, Spryte, I've finished your hub: Literary Heroines; Who I am and Who I'd like to be
Of course I had this one nailed. It was hard as heck to pick my heroines, but I got it, and it's done. Now, fo' shizzle, send me $50 so I can buy more books. >D It is your fault for getting the book-shopping blood flowing. (lol! I'm only joking! Though $50 would be a very pleasant gift! ^_^ HINT HINT WINK WINK CHRISTMAS PRESENT IDEAS I LOVE BARNES AND NOBLES GIFT CARDS!!!)
Ok, Dafla just informed me she's bowing out in favor of Zsuzsy Bee, so I'll send a request to Zsuzs.
Here's my request to her.
Who has a request for me?
Okie Dokey, KT pdx. Here's yours.
"The Feral Cats of Rome's Ancient Monuments"
I guess you can change it to Oregon if you want.
Will work on this but won't grt at it till Tuesday... sorry... I only have a few minutes on the 'puter while the sidekicks still snooze. Happy Thanksgiving to all you guys in Canada and just Happy Sunday for the rest of you... isn't life just grand... gotta go zs
Ok, requested Hub written:
Wicca, The Goddess and Witchcraft - what's the big fuss?
----Non-Request Train Comment(do not Request me)----
This is a great idea. I'mma play soon as I catch up on some projects.
You guys need to make an RSS thingy like Ryan has for the hubmobs if there's anyway to do that (yes, I am ignorant and have no idea how any of this works. I just drink and write, so... yeah, whatever).
----Non-Request Train Comment(do not Request me)----
Holy crap Jenny - did you write that while logged into the wrong profile?
Wait, I see what happened. Jenny, your link is missing a _2 at the end!
Thanks, Gamergirl - I never would have picked that up! Should be fixed now ...
----Non-Request Train Comment(do not Request me)----
I'm so sorry, but I'll have to reneg on my requested hub. One of my cats (Lydia) is dying. Took her into the vet this morning, and she has a huge mass. I want to just spend time with her right now. Sorry.
So very sorry to hear about that, take care of yourself anf your cat.
----Non-Request Train Comment (do not Request me)----
Oh, no ...
You and Lydia and the household are in my thoughts.
----Non-Request Train Comment (do not Request me)----
Thank you so much. *sniffs and cries* I've changed my pic to her picture. Her website on Catster is linked on my profile, if anyone wants to see her. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.
So sorry KT here I'm off in my little world blabbing without reading the rest of the thread...
My thoughts are with you and Lydia...
Hope all is well with all Hubbers.
Can we get the train going again?
I'm not sure if this train here has been derailed or if it will chug along slowly but surely...
Here is my hub that was KT's request for me

If I may be so bold as to make a request of HubPages, I would like you to please re-examine at this time your decision to ban Jerrico Usher from the Hub Forums. He has proven himself to be quite mindful of the mistake he made before and seems to me to be waaay to smart to make the same mistake...

Here's an idea or two... We all know that Hubpages have automatic flaggers that points out substandard hubs, "overly promotional", and so on. What if there's a feature where a hubber can request review, either "peer review" or "hubmaster" review (i.e. review by...
