hey guys! Follow me on Pinterest here's the link to my account.
http://pinterest.com/robal1030/
thanks
I just followed you too! I'm under my real name though. Initials AH.
Alright, folks. I just went and followed everyone who is following SimeyC.
I'm the one with the name "Nonplussed". An accurate description of my current state of mind concerning life.
We can rearrange boards, but we can't rearrange the pins within each board, nor move pins directly from one board to another. Gotta do the first-repin, then delete thing instead. Is that correct? I hope I'm wrong here.
I've added everyone (I think) - if I haven't added you, you need to friend me I think - then I can add you:
http://pinterest.com/simeycook/
Just to follow up. Since I started on Pinterest my traffic has increased by about 29%.............
I joined-- then I pulled my membership, due to concerns others were expressing. I'd love to have more traffic.
Use a new email and rejoin! Just post your own hubs and repins until you feel more comfortable.
Well, I changed my name again. Sorry about that. This one I think will stick. I am now "Good Karma".
Simey, please add me to the group. my pinterest user name is sdaniel128.
Thank you
Just a general fyi.
Pinterest users do show up for humor hubs.
Here is mine ( if it`s not too late to join)
http://pinterest.com/millishu01/
My name was taken so you can find me as "White Orchids" I will find and friend.
I am stalking you as we speak. You can find me as "GoodKarma".
If you are pinning your material to Pinterest, please be aware that it can be used by others and you can lose your ownership rights to your own material. This could affect your Hubpages traffic if others repin it, too, since your hubs will now be duplicate material that ranks lower on Google.
The only thing that you 'may' lose rights to is the picture - you article content is not copied to Pinterest, so there's no duplication problem.
When you click a link whether you have pinned it yourself or it has been repinned, it will link back to your HP hub. I have checked it on pins that have been repinned of mine by other people and I have clicked on photos that I have repinned from others. It takes me right to the original source. The photo is the only thing that is pinned. The actual writing stays in the same "hub" location.
Yes, cardelean, I, too, did some checking on how pinning and repinning work. You are absolutely right, photos are pinned with the original source of the photo. Happy pinning!
Hope you're enjoying the great traffic from Pinterest!
I just signed up, have nothing pinned yet, but would love to get started as soon as I get a chance.

Sounds like a ton of fun!
Is it OK to put sample pictures on here? Someone let me know if not.
Anyway this is the sort of thing that might work for me...
OMG, I'm sitting here with my mom (Denise Handlon) and we are literally cracking up. You have some sense of humor!!!!
Thanks! I'm enjoying the novelty of doing cartoons - a simple rude idea and a few stickmen. Might work on Pinterest.
You might get syndicated! Or have a TV series - I can't wait to watch you're 500th episode in 20 years time!
Oh man, I am so far behind that kind of game. What a brilliant series the Simpsons has been - sharp, funny, heart warming - one of the best TV programmes ever. If I could draw a picture to hang on Homer's wall in his workplace I'd be happy.
After Monday and Tuesday...
Even the Calendar Says W T F?
A Pinterest pic quote.
I've pretty much pinned everything I'm going to pin. I'll splatter around some likes and repins occasionally, but I'm pretty much done for the foreseeable future.
And ditto my twitter/facebook activity.
I consider all of them just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
Paradigmsearch is herewith on a search for a new paradigm.
You can add me Simey I didn't see this before now. It popped up on my wall for some reason. I'm busy this month with this 30/30 challenge but I'll check in when I can.

I am also interested. I have started following you. My username is amanthkr012
I'm in and all over it. My Pinterest username is eclecto.
FYI to anyone interested, I applied for an account through Pinterest, rather than being invited, and they sent me an invite the very next day.
I have just been careful to not repin other's things since reading up on possible copyright problems, but I enjoy "liking" others posts and mixing random photos of mine with links to my hubs. I've enjoyed some decent traffic from the site since joining a couple of weeks ago.
For all you excitable types out there.
Please do not send me an invite as I am expressing a non interest in this site. Why? It is a site like Reddit or Stumbeupon. ......... with pictures.
I am with Josh on this as i do not see any long term benefit to traffic generated from Pinterest. There will be traffic for sure, but will that traffic convert to sales? No.
Definitely not over a long term period. To get any sustainable and converting traffic one will have to dedicate an exclusive amount of time networking with people. Just like one would have to dedicate vast amounts of time to do the same on social networking sites like Facebook, Stumble, Technorati, reddit, Twitter, et al.
I dont spend time on these sites as I dont have the time to dedicate.
I see efforts expended better with other tasks that gets me results, which is traffic and traffic that converts and buys items or clicks adverts or pays for affiliate products.
Yes pinterest is no good. But no on a more serious note I am doing very good with traffic from there both here at Hub Pages and on my own sites. You have to have something ( photo ) that is going to get on their front page or popular category. If you do it will help your bottom line greatly. I won't go into dollar amounts but its well worth my time. But anyone that thinks its not worth it just leave it along and I'll keep plugging along. I have one Hub here that has got over 200,000 hits from there in about a months time.
My easter egg decorations hub did great at pinterest. It looks like a bunch of hubbers pinned it for me. That's the first one I've gotten much from, but I think I don't really understand how to use it that well.
SimeyC I friended you, do I have to wait till you friend me back to post to the collaborative board?
I have finally joined Pinterest, my screen name is SmartAndFun. I found a few of you but haven't yet had the time to give it a good going over. When I get some time later today or tomorrow I'll go through this thread and follow those of you who have listed your Pinterest names here.
I also need to take some time to figure my way around Pinterest. I hate being a newbie!
Here's my Pinterest observations.
I have pinned about 60 odd pictures and received about 300 visits. Fairly typical of my social network experiences - not great traffic, hardly worth doing.
But... I am finding a great benefit in doing this.
When I write or update hubs I tend to add new or improved pictures to them.
And Pinterest gives me an easy feedback. People ignore it, like it, comment or repin.
It is, I think, a good way to test your visual appeal and improve your marketing. I have been occasionally surprised by what people like... and what they don't.
So you have been getting people to youe hubs by pinning people or what was your process that drove traffic toy our hubs? I am just seeing pictures and very little commenting, just repins with my hubs I pinned there but no traffic to my hubs that clicked on any ads or my amazon capsule. sigh..
I just started on Pin, got approved and began pinning today. We will see how my traffic increases.
what do you actually pin? Just images? I don't understand how that generates traffic. Are you able to shed any light on that for me please?
Yes, you do pin images, but you can link the images so when someone clicks it, they are transported to your hub, or wherever. I've received several hundred views from Pinterest in the past two weeks or so.
Oh wow. Amazing. Guess I need good images then.
If you use the pinit button on your hub, it adds automatically. If not, you go in and "edit" the picture on Pinterest. I just fooled around with it for a minute until I figured it out!
Ugh. I thought it would automatically link to the article if you pinned a photo. I hope I've been doing it right. I don;t think I have. I hate being a clueless newbie.
It does, but you can also upload photos and add a link to them. For example, you could pin your hub with the button and then create another pin with a different picture and link it to the same hub.
Sorry, SimeyC - not trying to hijack your comments or anything! I just keep seeing these pop up on my feed and want to help out
Hi Simey, have just joined Pinterest and followed you - my user name over there is Vintagepointuk.
Hello I am with Pinterest my name is (orchidpetal) Rhonda Jones. Add me and follow me on there. I will submit the work I have her and will ad mroe throughout the week. I have not seen any increase in me getting views to my hubs but I guess it'll happened one day. I'm staying positive and trying to find ways to drive traffic to my hubs to increase my Adsense revenue.
I'm on too. Same name as my profile here. Only got a few pins up. If anyone finds me and follows me let me know so I can do the same. Thanks.
I am following you
myself:

At first I was very interested in Pinterest, but after reading the fine print about how they "owned" the images and could sell or alter them, my daughter and I deleted our Pinterest account. I'm not an attorney and don't know if this would actually stand up in court, but I didn't like it.
I agree that it is uncomfortable and confusing but if they are creative images doctored and nothing private or personal isn't it safe enough as a way to encourage visitors to hubs? I mean if I have an image of a flower linking to a gardening hub I figure I'm ' safe '. I hope I'm not being too ignorant.
They have changed their TOS - they no longer own the image.
Thank you SimeyC for this new info. I will reconsider Pinterest. As far as the pictures, I was not so much concerned about the images in my hubs as the images of my handmade products in my Etsy shops. I'm glad to hear that they have changed this policy.
For whatever reason, pinterest has not hooked me in yet. I've only been a member for about a week or so, but I'm thinking I must not be "getting" something. It's just a bunch of random pictures, it seems like. SO you just go on there and look at pictures and like them or repin them? There must be more to it. I think I need to look around some more and figure out how to fine-tune my feed... or something.
Hi Simey,
I would appreciate it if you could add me! I just joined Pinterest and I'm already floored by it! Over 50 hits within 5 minutes of posting. Amazing. Thanks!

After a little more testing we've just opened up another new feature that went out yesterday -- a HubPages widget that you can add to your blog or website. To grab the code, just go to your profile page and you should see a link in the right hand column. You can see an example of it in action...

We added the Pinterest "Pin It" button to the small collection of popular social-sharing buttons at the top of Hubs on Thursday. Pinterest has rapidly become one of the largest social media traffic drivers to HubPages, already substantially larger than Twitter and Reddit. Maddie wrote a...

I suspect folks are getting worried about the move from subdomains and while we can't say what will happen with every page, a loss of traffic at this stage isn't unusual.I put together this Hub on the process. http://hubpages.com/business/What-Happe … Large-SiteIf you are really...

I just tried to pin a hub, but I was told it was going to be blocked because the site was known to have suspicious activity. I'm using Chrome. The pin was going to be from my hub about decluttering and organizing kids' toys, which does not have a red skull or anything. I assume it's not a...
