What do you like to put on your baked potato?
What's your favorite topping on a baked potato? Looking forward to your delicious answers.
chilli-coriander powder, heated in butter with lemon juice sprinkled all over the potato. Try and taste it!
Butter, salt and pepper. I think a little bit of garlic salt is nice in place of table salt too. On rare occasions having a semi-loaded baked potato is nice; melted cheddar cheese, green onion and bacon. Delicious.
This is an interesting question because when I lived in the states, it was always served as a side dish. In England where I lived for many years, it was served as a main course which I thoroughly enjoyed. Some of my favourite toppings were.
Baked beans and cheese,
Tuna and corn,
Coleslaw (yes on top)
Chilli and cheese (yum)
Prawn mayo
or just lots of mature cheddar cheese.
Very filling and tasty.
We love a Mexican-style baked potato topped with salsa, crumbled corn chips, sharp cheddar cheese, jalapeno slices, sour cream or Greek yogurt and chopped cilantro. BTW, I like canned jalapeno slices by an authentic brand like Herdez and I only use homemade salsa, not the bottled stuff! It really does make a difference.
Here in Peru, there's such a variety of potatoes. In the U.S. we would use a big Russet potato but here in Peru I'd choose a starchy potato that's in season like the canchan or huayro potato. Yum!
That Mexican style topping sounds fantastic.
I love a simply baked beans and mild cheddar cheese topping. It's been one of my favorites for many years now and I have it nearly every time. When I'm not have beans and cheese I'll normally opt for cottage cheese and chives or just good ole' salted butter.
Black pepper, salt with green mint and coriander chutney along with some curd. Typical Indian yummy taste.
I have to say sour cream with some old cheddar cheese sprinkled on top with some chopped parsley yum yum one of my favorite esp. when it is done on a barbeque can't beat that flavor!
I know there are plenty of options for loading up a baked potato, but I absolutely love the classic grated cheese and bacon. Yum.
There was a time when a hefty portion of butter and salt was the only thing atop my potato however as age and weight try their damnest to change my lifestyle, broccoli and cheese makes a fine complement or low-fat margarine and sea-salt makes a decent substitute potato topping...
As Blond Logic says here in the UK a baked potato is usually served as a stand alone main dish, so usually loaded up with a hefty filling.
Egg mayonnaise
tuna and sweetcorn
cheese and beans
chicken salad
chilli con carne.
All are yummy.
Chili and cheese. Yum! This makes for a great meal all by itself!
Butter, salt, pepper, sour cream and broccoli....Yum....I'm getting hungry reading all the great responses!!
Salt, pepper, butter, sour cream chives..sometimes broccoli , sauted mushrooms
I rather love baked potatoes just as they are. I'll cut them in half lengthwise, add butter and salt and eat them out of hand, skin and all.
My husband, on the other hand, is one to pile them up with all manner of toppings - from the standard dollop of sour cream to a good sized scoop of chili.
I do make twice-baked potatoes for gatherings if I'm feeling the need to take them up a notch.
Ice cream, melts almost instantly, definitely rum and raisin flavour does it for me every single time.
Regards Dale
How about some sour cream. A steamy hot baked potato with some sour cream is always delicious!
Baked beans and little bit of cheese on top is my favorite. I also tried it with Indian curry, its quiet nice.
Sour cream, cheese and bits of bacon are my favorite baked potato topping. Maybe a few chives also.
The standard sour cream and chives, sometimes we use tomato sauce the same as we use for pasta, instead.
I like to fill it with vegetables, and then some chicken or tuna.
Or if it is a sweet potato, I like to top it with Peanutbutter
I like my potato with extra virgin olive oil, and butter. Sometimes, though, I steam vegetables such as green peppers, yellow peppers, broccoli, and collard greens and put those on after sprinkling some EVOO on top.
Lemon pepper, real creamy butter, real bacon pieces or ham... or both, steamed brocolli, grated cheddar cheese, sour cream, and sliced peperoncini. Yes! All of that, in that order on one baked potato. It's a meal.
i would simply add broccoli, cheese and bacon bits to top of my baked potato
Butter, Sour Cream and Jalapeno Peppers and I like twice baked potatoes at home.
Also, pepper jack cheese and cheddar with a little of butter---this is delicious.
I have even put chocolate on a baked potato.
When you lived in the country one has to improvise.
Butter, chives, sour cream, bacon bits, pepper and tapatio.
My favorite topping for baked potato is sour cream and mustard! It seems strange, and I'm often made fun of for it, but it's so good!
I like to put yogurt, chopped onions, garlic powder and season salt.
Ranch dressing but also sometimes a tablespoon or two of spaghetti sauce, or marinara and some ricotta cheese for a "lasagna" potato.
I like them with dense Greek yoghurt and some fresh chives.
My two favorites: 1.) pulled pork BBQ and some really good BBQ sauce and 2.) Steamed broccoli, cheddar cheese and bacon bits.
I love some baked potato with the following toppings, all at the same time :-)
butter
sour cream
salt
bacon bits
chopped broccoli
lots of melted cheddar cheese
Chives

What is your favorite way for stuffing a baked potato? Some just like the usual butter, cheese, sour cream, bacon bits, and chives. Others like barbecue, bacon and cheese, taco meat and queso... There's no wrong way. Is there a way to stuff baked potatoes that you enjoy more than others?

What seasonings do you use on a pork roast?I always seem to season my pork roasts with garlic powder, ground pepper, and insert slivers of fresh garlic into the roast. I'm just wondering what everyone else seasons theirs with.
