Many times you would find that you had lied unnecessarily, though quite harmlessly and without any chance for adverse consequences.

Does this happen often with you?

It depends on the situation - if it is something that is going to embarrass someone as in 'why didn't you answer the phone' and the answer was 'because we were fooling around' and it is my son - then yes, I lie!  It would give him a heart attack and I would never be able to look him in the face again!

There are lies and then there are LIES!

If the truth causes problems and the lie is the solution, you have to lie.

With parents as strict as mine were, lying was a matter of survival, and I grew up to be a brilliant liar.
Unfortunately, I don't have to lie to anybody anymore ... one talent gone to waste ...

Why not find a job you hate or find so boring it makes waking up when your alarm goes off next to impossible.  Chronic absenteeism and lateness make for sources of need to invent some good stories...     lol  (Just remember:  Your boss may start counting how many of those great aunts of yours die over the course of six months.)
