Just for fun, following up on the thread about hubstats, the latest figures for views per hub are as follows:

    http://hubpages.com/stats/

•Hubs with 1,000+ hub views in the last month: 5,313
•Hubs with 100+ hub views in the last month: 39,439
•Hubs with 10+ hub views in the last month: 152,649

How many people have hubs with more than 1000 views per month? I'm afraid I haven't any - my best hub manages 508 views per month.

Anyone on these forums in that exclusive 1000+ club?

Hi Silver Rose. Not me. I'm lucky if I'll get 500 views during my first month in hubpages. But I'm also curious to know who gets those number of views.

I don't consider being in an exclusive club for hub views at all. The information you provided in stats is shocking though. I have only been here two months and my hubs have seen 2300 and some change views in total. I am now in the process of updating some of the lower viewed hubs for better content, and deleted two hubs that were not doing much at all. My ultimate goal is not to get as many views as I can, but to work on my writing, and have people who will enjoy it.

That is great. I have noted in the forums that the "help", "how to", and information hubs really get alot of traffic. What do you think on what is the key to high traffic?

yes Help articles always get a good response however to speed up the process of getting to the top you need to hot link. Also a new technique I have found works good is to hotlink to google for your chosen keywords. like this Disable Windows Automatic Restart After Update as you will see i am number one, also for most variations of the keywords including "auto restart" number 1 again. this really does seem to help. hot link to google

I feel like my hubs must suck.  I have been here almost 2 months and have just over 1200 views for the entire time on all of them.  But, I guess that is OK.  I consider it like golf...competing against myself and the course.

I only have 6 (which are closer to 1,500/2,000) 9 that have gotten 500-1000 views. Some of my hubs aren't a month old, but when they reach that age they should have a 1,000+ views.

So, not as many as I'd like, but as the PR increases, so will my views! smile

Four.  One of which takes about a week to get 1000 views.  I also have further ones which reach 100 views in a month.

Yeah I know I should, some of them are just weird little ones stories etc. that I never really expected to get any traffic, some are the ones I wrote when I first joined, and the others were just really really bad, lol.

I'll probably just forget about them, hope they get the occasional hit, and try and write better hubs in the future. smile

I know shorter hubs attract the most readers; it only makes sense.  People don't want to spend all day reading hubs.  My problem is that I am primarily a fiction writer and stories take a little more time to develop than articles.  I guess I have plenty of hubs that are too long and it shows on the stats, but that's what I love and that's what you're going to get.

    1. kmackey32 profile image53
kmackey32posted 15 years agoin reply to this

This is true for myself. If a hub is too long I usually leave. Think I just want the information instead of nonesense. I like a hub that gets right to the point! And I get bored easily. lol

      1. Pete Maida profile image61
Pete Maidaposted 15 years agoin reply to this

Fiction isn't generally characterized as nonsense.  Not everyone writes to make the last nickel out of every word.  Some people love to write.  You are not required to read it but it doesn't make it nonsense.

Just two that consistently run over 1,000.  After that, the count plunges to under 300.  Both of the "biggies" are, yes, How To hubs AND come up on Google's first page.  But no, they don't make me a lot of bucks.  Got a click yesterday on one of them that paid seven cents, my total for the entire day.

One with 1,000+ a month (Henry VIII and his Six Wives)

    33 with 100+ views a month

Only my Christmas hub (not surpisingly) has fewer than 10 views a month.

Oh, and look at it another way...

        * Published Hubs: 404,074
        * Hubs with 1,000+ hub views in the last month: 5,300
        * Hubs with 100+ hub views in the last month: 39,429
        * Hubs with 10+ hub views in the last month: 152,802

That means that 206,543 hubs have LESS THAN TEN views per month.  Hmmm... not something that looks too goo to me...

It happened to me once. When Bruno landed on Eminem's face w/his bare backside flashing for the whole world to see i wrote a hub. it went up on msn (bing) and got 1k+ hits. i think if there's some big media event and u write a hub FAST and it gets indexed u'll surly see a huge surge of traffic....

My best Hubs are under 300 views per month . . . but it really comes down to a number of factors: how many views come from Google, Yahoo, other sources as opposed to within Hubpages?

Most of my views come from outside Hubpages since I haven't been that active internally.

I'm going to write more specific types of product reviews, how tos and that should increase those Hub views.

One of my few hubs gets 1000+ views weekly mainly from search engines, others also doing pretty well. I'm grateful to God and to HubPages. Thank you.
