Since my childhood, I had dreamt of becoming a pastor, And now I am now on my half way of it.

And I wanted to become a Rock Guitarist but I don't think if I could still make it... it's kind late already

I wanted to have a career in Horticulture, possibly creating new species of roses etc. Sadly I have had no end of other jobs since, including ones that involved growing, but never fulfilled my original ambition. Today my ambition would be different though, and I think I would be far happier growing food crops on a viable scale to make a living, or running a smallholding with animals and vegetables both included.

I wanted to be a Vet, but the years in college scared the beegeebees out of me. I also wanted to be a nurse but them children came along and life happened. In a way I have become the vet and the nurse and a teacher and a great mother which is everything rolled into one. I raised many small animals including goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, cats, dogs, mice and hampsters along the way and of course two beautiful independent daughters who are grown and on their own now.
I am also a minister and a writer, which neither ever entered my mind until after my children left home.

I used to watch Seahunt as a child and wanted to be a scuba diver.  I never dove for a living but I did get my advanced certification and went on many pleasurable dives in the Pacific, Atlantic and Caribbean.

When I was young, I wanted someone to create something like the internet; and so I asked al gore if he'd create the internet, and so shall it be written, and so al done.

you see, I'd not know that I'd already and always wanted to be a blogger; but thanks to heroes like algore, and billgates; I am the stunning success that you see.

Growing up, I changed my mind often as to what I wanted to be: first, a teacher; then, a vet; next, a writer. I ended up pursuing a business major with a concentration in human resources, but in my spare time I write on hubpages, so I guess, in a way, I did become what I wanted to be.

I wanted to become a writer... or a psychologist.

I was a photojournalist in the military for five years, and now I am currently writing online and writing a book... so I kind of accomplished it.

As for the psychologist, I plan on going back to school next year to finish my psychology degree. Hopefully I can use my writing and my psychology degree to finally become satisfied with my career choice.

My career though is cosmetology and barbering... while not my first choice from childhood, I do enjoy it.

i love the question because it always makes us stop and think,... i wanted to play music, and write songs,.... but i got maried, had the kid, got divorced,.....now i pay the bills, raise the boy, and RA tries hard to take the guitar away from me,... but arthritus cannot take away words,.. so i keep going,... but thanks for the question, it sure made me think back, and i managed a smile in spite of it all.

I wanted to become a teacher and an author. Although I've had several books published I thought that I hadn't become a teacher, but when I look at all the articles I write I see that I am teaching.  Sometimes our dreams don't come true in the way we expected them to, but that's okay!

I always wanted to be a veterinarian. I still love animals, but as I got older the medical aspect of being a vet no longer appealed to me. As a kid I loved writing stories, family newsletters, etc. but I never once considered being a writer...but that's what I grew up to be!

I'm only 20 years old, so i can't really attest for much. However, when i was younger, i wanted to be an Astronaut, or FBI Agent; growing up, I've discovered that not only were those professions dangerous, they just weren't for me. I now want to become a writer, and i plan on this dream becoming a reality. I think FIRST i realized that i wanted to change people's lives some how. This thought led me down the writing path. For me, making money was never the destination...it was always the thought of someone reading my work and being inspired, thought-provoked, or "changed" by what they read.

I wanted and believed I would be a professional baseball player when I was growing up.  However, I went into the military, finished college and have a good career.  Most days, I would much rather be playing baseball and being in my mid 30's, I'd be a year or two away from retirement already!!

I wanted to be lots of things, but when I was nine I decided that I was born to be a writer and never changed my mind again after that.  I have achieved it to some extent; that is, I write and have had a few things published but have not yet achieved any major success.  But since I'm only 25, I figure that there's still plenty of time!!

When I was a kid, I do not really dream of something to be. Just finishing my studies and have a good job are enough for me. But now, I read this from the Internet and I wish I could... "When I grow up I don't want to grow old."

When I was a kid, I watched Honey I Shrunk the Kids, the TV series. From then on I knew I wanted to be an inventor. Come high school, Physics and Chemistry subjects almost blew my mind apart. Now I'm studying Interior Design, aiming to be a furniture designer.

Conclusion? I'll create my own furniture, so that still counts as inventing right? Haha.

At various stages I wanted to be (in no particular order): a hacker, Superman, a snowman (and I lived in Florida, ponder that one), a Ninja Turtle, a lawyer, and of course the ever-present ambitions of being a parent and author.

Still working on the author part, but have managed to become a parent in a manner that I'm not legally or biologically related to the boy but I claim him as my own anyway.

At 23, my current goal is now not to grow up, but to enjoy every fleeting second and to not stress about a tomorrow that's always a maybe.

I wanted to be an astronaut when I was young.  I was fascinated by outer space and rocket ships as a kid, as I am sure many little boys were.  I ended up becoming a police officer.  Although I never made it to outer space, some of the people that I have dealt with while on duty made me feel like I was dealing with alien life forms.

I honestly didn't know what I wanted to be when I was younger. I had a lot I could choose from, writer, archeologist, nurse, docter, teacher? The list just went on and on. I was interested in so many things. My mother is a nurse so naturally I know more about health than anything else. The way the human body worked has always made me curious. I'm still in school, however I have finally decided what I want to be and am going for it.

I either wanted to be a Vet or an artist.  My Dad discouraged my aspirations of becoming a Vet, because at the time small animal practices and women Vets were not common.

I did become an artist, but only on the side.  My main profession was  school librarian and teacher.
