   Considering my belief in God and family and the ethical standards of life, if all of that were suddenly proven to be false, then I'd have to go somewhere, re-evaluate and then come back as an alias or something, start over, fresh, even in a different place and rebuild my beliefs in something or better yet... just believe in myself and let everything revolve around me instead of me revolving my life around everything.

   We need to always have an open mind. In the first place, I doubt if everything you believed in would suddenly be proven to be false. There may be some philosophies that you believe in that are incorrect. Those may have to do with raising your children, or being a good spouse. On the other hand, they may be religious in nature. I have been wrong on many occasions when it comes to most, if not all of the above. If you clearly see you are going the wrong direction in life, to have any integrity, you must change your life to match your newly found truth. When it comes to religion, I believe the Bible is the only truly authoritative book and believe it to be inspired by God. Most of us come to the Bible with rose colored glasses, stained by our past beliefs and teachings. It is important for each individual to come to their own faith based on their understanding of the Bible. I wish you well in your search for truth in all that you do.

   In all honesty, I have no idea.  I would like to believe that I would react as I do in much smaller incidences of loss, Take a deep breath and find the truth of the matter. I wuld like to believe that, but I honestly don't know.

   I tend not to believe in things unless there is evidence to support them. I suspect that any beliefs that would be suddenly proven to be false would be those which are opinion based with no evidence to support them (religeious beliefs etc.), so I'm guessing that most of my beliefs would change only slowly over time as newer or more accurate evidence is found.

    That would be hard to accept...at first...but then with logic I'm sure the "new" reality would slowly be acceptable. For example for people that believe in a certain God or Gods, if suddenly they are told that the Gods are actually aliens from long ago, and that each culture represented the "alien" as a God in their interpretation of that being, and thus the structure of religion collapses, then this can cause a lot of turmoil among cultures...wonder if that's what's going to happen...hmmmm....

    Well most of the things we believe in is based on our up bringing. So I would have to re-live my childhood memories and know that evidently my parents were given the wrong advice too, so I could never hold a grudge against them. It's not their fault.

    I experienced something similar to this in my early  20s. When my eyes of childhood beliefs disappeared and I  began to see life from the eyes of an adult, I was dismayed. I felt stripped of all I believed in. Yet I was wise enough to put things in perspective. I found a source that helped me understand that life is not about me and how I wanted it to be. Life is about honoring the life of a man who loved me so much he gave his life for me. From that point on, I saw living and life in a more positive and real way. I chose to have faith and not become angry and rebellious because life can be very hard and unforgiving from time to time.Especially if you don't have a basis from which you will live it.

    I would evaluate the situation, try to figure out why exactly it was that I believed in those things, then move on and find something new.

    I've actually had a day or two like that before. First thing I did... call my mother haha. Then, I had to realize that not everything is in my control, and that I can choose how I want to respond to situations. I ultimately chose to not get all bent out of shape about it. I hope that this helps. Just remember, life goes on.

    First, I would make sure that whatever proved my belief to be false is valid. If it was not...then I would seek the truth until I found it.

    I would put all that belief into myself,get over it and keep it moving in a positive light.
    
    We can be disillusioned by many things,our government for one, had me down and not trusting until Obama got in office. Now it seems people want to give him the blues,but I still have faith in him,he wants what is best for the country unlike the president before him.

    I am a Christian. What I believe takes faith. If what I believe does not come to pass - oh well. my life is still good. But if you aren't a Christian and don't believe that Jesus is Lord and you find out He is, then what happens to you?
