Should Trump be charged for giving classified info to the Russians?

When Trump met with the Russians a day after firing Comey as the FBI director he is alleged to have revealed classified info to the Russian obtained from an ally country. This info is said to have put many undercover agents in peril as well as causing our allies to not trust the US with classified information.

What are your thoughts if this turns out to be true?

I really do not know what it will take to get this administration out of office. It's like some kind of alternative universe.
I really do hope that whatever it takes will happen soon and that every other country and ally will forgive us.
Trump flaunts his ignorance and yet his supporters are completely blind to all. It is so unbelievable.

His supporters don't see it as ignorance because they are ignorant too. smile  They, like Trump, think they are smart.

That saying, "they are too ignorant to know that they are stupid", rings true for many of them. If 45 ate turds in front of a camera, there would be a run on the turd market, and high praise for him being so smart.

So it's a forgone conclusion in your mind that this story is true? The Washington Post has published so many stories they have later had to redact, it's not even funny. An unknown source who makes up a story is evidence of Nothing, except that whoever is attempting to leak information illegally needs to be put in jail.

The Left needs to stop going crazy over every fake news story they see. They also need to stop making up foolish conspiracy theories and fake news. Of course, that won't happen. That would be like asking a baby not to cry. At least the baby has good reason....

Below is only one of many fake stories from The Washington Post:

The answer is no, because what he did is not illegal, according to many experts.

But David Gergen is one of the most respected presidential advisors in Washington He served Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Clinton. He said Trump has violated his oath of office and has shown such a high level of misconduct that he is not fit to serve.

He also said that Trump has entered "impeachment territory" because of the pressure he put on Comey to drop the FBI investigation into Michael Flynn.

First - "alleged" is all anyone has to go on right now
Second - The President can declassify anything he wants at any time
Third - If you want to go after someone for jepordizing America - then why aren't the leakers your target?  People who run right out of a briefing and give the contents to the Washington Post or New York Times to score political points are the ones who should be prosecuted - unless we take some serious steps as a nation to redefine National Security - this entire process that we're watching unfold will be repeated - but maybe the next time it will be a Democrat in the WH - remember how the Nuclear Option of Harry Reid backfired????

I know most of the people on this thread hate the President.  You're angry that an upstart beat Hillary Clinton.  You feel like the Obama policies are being dismantled and you're watching as the economy grows under Trump when it floundered under Obama and you are angry - I get that.  What I don't get it why you refuse to allow a fairly elected President just do the job!

Talk about OBSTRUCTIONISTS !  The modern Liberal Democrats take the prize as the biggest obstructionists in the history of our nation.

OK - now let the HATE begin - tell me how stupid I am, dodge, divert, and deflect from the facts and paint me as an idiot!  Woo Hoo...bring it!!!!

This is a very serious matter. R's better wake up and smell the coffee. It has nothing to do with Trump haters. I think he's a moron, but wished him well, if he chose staff carefully he could maybe have been a success. I never realized his Trump empire was just a family biz, he doesn't answer to shareholders and or a Bd. of Directors. He is a lowly real estate developer, rich enough to buy whatever land and material he needs.

There is no reason his daughter and son in law should be in on classified meetings. Ivanka is an idiot who suggests a strawberry milkshake a day makes everyone happy in her book. She would have no biz if it wasn't a floor downstairs from Dad. Her hubby is another money grubber, the marriage was probably arranged and she's too stupid to realize it.

He never divested his money interests, fired Comey while being the subject of an FBI investigation, and Flynn was already in trouble before he was part of the cabinet, Trump knew and tried to get Comey to stop the investigation. He gets payoffs from Putin. He even hid behind Hillary last week, who although disliked, did know how to run a country. We look bad all over the world.

His skill set does not stretch to be able to run a country. There's been a scandal everyday since he was elected. He took over the country the first day as President Elect, and robbed Obama of the last 2 1/2 months of his Presidency. Now he's broken so many laws, told so many lies, it's a criminal investigation. I hope he's out by the end of the year.

And I'm sick of "Moral Christians" who will steal the shirt off a dying person so they can hide more money in their numbered accounts. Obama at least made inroads with healthcare, with enough decency to care about other fellow human beings, as Jesus expected of you moral hypocrites.

The "fake news" was another invention of Fox News, like the old War on Christmas. Uneducated people believe this nonsense. Sorry about Roger Ailes, but the station should be taken off the air. CNN is bland, and MSNBC has R's in it now, and is telling truth. Coal mines in most states have been shut down now, even in PA. He lied to his voters through his whole campaign. Melania appeared to go on this trip with him, and was so ashamed she didn't hold his hand or wave to the crowd. She's the brains in the family.

We need a free press, or do you want to be a country like Russia? Criticizing the press just shows stupidity. News moves much faster than it did during Watergate. And what Nixon did is nothing compared to this.

Absolutely, He should be impeached. He acts like a very spoiled ENTITLED 10-year-old. We as private citizens would be arrested, Patriot Act slapped on us, and prison I'm sure.  His White House is in chaos.

He hired Michael Flynn after several people told him of his ties to Russia. I think Trump has deep ties to Russia because that's all we have heard about since day 1. I'm pretty sure after he is out of office, we'll see "TrumpVilles" all over Moscow.

I am a tried and true bleeding heart liberal democrat. So this answer may be a bit biased, but if I'm very honest, I hoped he would accomplish some of the things he talked about during his campaign. It's clear there will always be chaos, with no legislation in sight.

Trump is not breaking the law by giving the Russians classified information. He is the only person in the country that can do so without being charged.
If it was a clever move, I don't think so. What I do know now is that Trump is not a politician and not clever in his role as a president. He is making one political amateur blunder after the next. Like firing the head of the FBI without thinking about the consequences.
And last in the line is to visit Saudi Arabia before visiting Israel. He has no feel for diplomacy whatsoever. This lack of understanding of how the democracy in the US works will be his downfall. He thinks he can run the US like a business with one boss who dictates all. That's fortunately not how it works. A dictatorship works like that, the US not (yet)

This is what many of us see, Peter. DT has no tact nor knowledge how to obtain such. His staff and cabinet are terrified of what he's going to say or tweet next. And yes, DT wants to be either king or a tyrant. He'd prefer the latter of course.

Very simply no. He has the authority to share classified information with other nations. This is out of the mouth of Alan Dershowitz one of the foremost Attorney of constitutional law. he also makes the claim president Trump can not be charged with obstruction due to asking Comey "please let the investigation go on Flynn".

No one knows what is else will be discovered in the FBI investigation, but as for Trump giving Russia classified info  he has not committed a crime.
