Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 Walkthrough Part 32: Index

You will start out at the Leaky Cauldron, and you can be Harry or Hagrid. Harry doesn’t know any Wizarding powers, so he cannot do much of anything.

Hagrid, on the other hand, can do a lot. For example, he can walk up to a table and get it spinning with the Wingardium Leviosa spell. You will notice some tables that you can levitate so that they will flip. There are also some cups to be put away at the bar. All of these will get you studs, which you will eventually need to gain True Wizard, as well as buying other important things.

What you need to do is go over to the tables in this area and levitate the candles on them. You will find that they go off like fire-crackers and then land on the tables, smashing them to bits. Levitate them, and they will become Portraits. When they are formed, the Red Crest Portion will appear. However, it is high. It can only be obtained when levitating bar stools until they become a ramp. Go on and become Hagrid and use that ramp to get it.

Hagrid can also zap things. There are some large barrels and small ones. Go ahead and zap them all and get all the studs you can.

By the way, there is a Wizard sitting in the corner. You can shoot him and his chair will come to life. You can ride it if you want. It doesn’t really do much for you, though.

There is a patch by the stairwell, and it requires that Harry stand on it while Hagrid levitates the area on it. When it is levitated, Harry will leap off. Switch to Harry, and make your way up the stairs until Harry can grab a yellow crank thing. Have him jump down, and place the crank in the proper spot, a green area on the door.

Hagrid can use the levitation power to open the door, and you will be at the next area.

This area here has some boxes to blast, but what you really want to do is levitate the bricks so you can get to Diagon Alley.

Be sure to blast anything you can down this street.

When you get to the area with the lady waving, go ahead and wave back at her. This will uncover the Green Crest Portion.

Don’t forget to levitate a purple banner at this area, as it will get you coins.

On the right, you will also see a table that you can use levitation to set it down. Go ahead and do that. You can then find a place where a table can be lifted up. Go ahead and get Harry on there, and Hagrid will automatically levitate him. Atop the roof there, Harry can get some studs and get the Student in Peril.

As you go along, you will see a red and blue saucer shaped thing. Have Hagrid make that into trampoline. Harry needs to bounce on this and go to the rooftop onto the left. He will find a coveted purple stud, good for 10,000 studs. You might find this a difficult jump to make, but if you are playing the Wii, I found that holding the jump button “A” down makes Harry fly higher with every bounce.

Coming up is your first cauldron. There will be a lot of these in this game. The trick is to gather the ingredients (always three that it requires). In this case, it is flowers, a popsicle, and a spider.

The flowers are on a table nearby. Just grab them and drop them in. As for the popsicle, levitation has to be used on the ice-cream stand nearby. You will get one, and you can drop it in. As for the spider, it is in a big spiderweb on the left, so drop that in there.

When all ingredients are used, go ahead and mix them together. This will cause the area to blow up, and you can proceed to the bank. After you get the ingredients to the potion, you will find that there is some green residue left behind. Fortunately, there is some stuff that allows you to dump out a broom and make a sort of “broom-bot”. You can walk over and clean up all the mess, and you will get the Yellow Crest Portion.

Only Hagrid can open the door, as it requires that he pull on a chain there. (He is only one of a few characters who has the strength to do this.)

You will then be in Gringott’s bank. You will notice that there are a lot of things that you can shoot and levitate to get studs, so do it. You are, after all, in a bank. Do these things before you visit Griphook the Goblin and enter the vault area.

There are several blue studs on the other side of the small wall that serves as the border.

By the way, there are eight lights that can be lit with levitation, and will give you a reward. These can be lit in any order. 1/8 and 2/8 can be found as you approach the goblin’s desks. There is one on the left, and one on the right. If you walk all the way to the end of these desks, you will find light 3/8 and 4/8. The next set of desks will have 5/8 and 6/8 at the ends, one on the left and one on the right. Walk all the way down again and you will have 7/8 and 8/8. You will then be rewarded with a purple stud.

Be sure to levitate the blue books on the goblin’s desks, and zap some of the things in front of the desks.

In the corner, there is a dragon, but you can assemble a table using the levitation spell. Have Harry jump on the table, and Hagrid will automatically levitate him. There are a lot of studs that you can find here.

You will notice an area with a shiny silver metal lock. You cannot bust this unless you have a special spell, which you simply don’t have at this given time. You will, but not until FreePlay. This won’t be the first time you encounter this, believe you me.

Go and visit Griphook, and you can play him as a character. As far as I know, he is the only character with the ability to open vault doors, and there are many in the game. Have him open the one that you need to get by, and then try and get as many studs as you can. You will note that in the corners are some blue studs that your eyes won’t see.

Use Hagrid to open the door to the vault cage. Griphook must open the safe to reveal some pieces, and Hagrid must assemble them with levitation. He can blast the chest nearby as well, and then ride the cart to the bottom of the vault.

In this area, Griphook can open the vault door, and Hagrid can go inside and have some fun destroying things and levitating things for studs. He can get more studs by using the stuff inside to make a table that Harry can stand on. He can then levitate and Harry can get a purple stud, again. Hagrid can also make torches in both of these areas.

As for the area on the left, Hagrid has to pull a handle to get a dragon to retract. Griphook can then open the vault.

When the vault is entered, you are outside the bank once more, and the only thing left to do is enter a wand shop, indicated by a glowing arrow.

Go ahead and proceed to Part 3.
