Good goals for the New Year varies person to person. There are always the generic ones "lose weight, eat healthy". However to set a good goal for 2013 the person should really think of something they really want to accomplish. Research their goal and then start setting goals to acheive it. Reaching a long term goal takes dedication and work. And to stick to it through the tough times requires motivation, dedication and will power.
I am currently working on my own long term goal of starting my own business. The past few months I have spent hours researching how to open a business. The costs of opening the business, cost of equipment, advertising, ect. I have also reached out through social networks to get involved in gatherings of small business owners, mentoring and free classes through the SBA. It has been rough. I have keept myself motivated by reminding myself why I started this venture in the first place. I have dedicated myself and made myself accountable. I created small goals and worked towards obtaining them. Small goals included, buying domain name, creating business cards, create online ad, book first gig, attend SBA meeting, sign up for mentoring, and many others. Each small goal gets you one step closer to the main goal.
