Hello Hubbers, Welcome to a new month full of new challenges. After a very busy April with The HubMob Greatest hits and the HubPages contest we are entering May full of new ideas to keep making the most of our Hubs.

This week we are going to be sharing tips about an evergreen topic: Saving money. In a world where every day we see prices climbing up and salaries remaining stable, economizing is a very important issue regardless of what country you are based in. This is why this week the HubMob team is prompting you to share your economizing tips. Whether you have a special way to make your money go longer with your weekly shopping, tips to travel in style without spending a fortune, financial advice to make your savings work for you, energy saving tips to run a more energy efficient home, this is the week to share your knowledge about living frugally.

To join in this week's HubMob please follow the following instructions:

Excuse me if this has been covered somewhere else -- I've been away from HP a long time and I've never done the Hubmob topic before.

Is there a deadline for this specific top? Are there length requirements or other guidelines I should know about? Thanks.

      1. cardelean profile image86
cardeleanposted 13 years agoin reply to this

No guidelines except that your hub needs to be on the topic given.  It runs through the week (Sunday night).  You add the hubmob graphic and the rss feed to your hub.  The exact steps are at the top of the page!  It's just great fun to create a hub about a specific topic.  Sometimes it helps with that pesky writer's block.  smile

Thanks -- that helps. Yes, having a deadline often gets things moving. I'm getting hung up about post-Panda topic selection.

All the hubs from each weekly topic are included in the RSS feed automatically.

You havent done anything wrong, you just need to add a capsule to your hub that displays the feed.

With the holiday season just starting, many people are looking for a budget holiday, yet they don't wish to compromise on quality.

My hub Book Holiday Caravans Direct With Owners provides a list of websites where you can book a holiday caravan direct with the owner - saving yourself £100-200 over booking through the holiday park.

Economise on the cost of your holiday, not the quality, by booking a holiday caravan direct with the owners!

The RSS capsule broke (apparently) sometime before last Thursday. HubMobsters, go back and look at your hub after publishing it and you won't see the the RSS feed you saved. This has been reported in the forums, but I have not yet seen any staff reply. I'd like to know how HubMob is going to work without it!

    1. earner profile image82
earnerposted 13 years agoin reply to this

If the hubs are created .... that's a plus.  If the rss feeds show up one day, that's great too.  In the meantime, as it's been reported, I'll carry on "mobbing" just to create hubs smile

Princessaposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Where is that?  As far as I can see all the RSS feeds are working in my hubs and in any other ones I've checked.

Yesterday Jason acknowledged it as a bug and submitted it to an engineer. It has now apparently been fixed (see the one by calicoaster). But check some HubMobs published the last half of last week through early Monday. Pick authors who definitely know how to do it--it will look like they didn't. You personally did not publish during the affected time.

For Hubs published during the affected time period: The RSS capsule is still there, but the url you inserted was removed when you saved it. You need to go back in and re-add it. Any other parameters you set in that capsule were saved.

The RSS capsule needs to be re-edited for hubs published between the following times, as best I could determine:
-It broke Monday, 25 April, after L.L.Woodard and before emilgen.
-It was repaired Monday 2 May between 8 pm and 11 pm Pacific time.

Here's my hub on saving money when it looks like you have nothing left to cut.
It's not about saving for retirment, or other such things...it's savings for those at the bottom of the barrel, for whom retirement savings, or even any savings account is not even in the budget.

So, as someone said, the RSS feed capsule does, indeed, seem to be broken.

What about putting the feed link into a LINKS capsule instead?  Would that work?

    1. Austinstar profile image87
Austinstarposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Sometimes the RSS feed has to "percolate" before it appears in the capsules. Wait 24 hours and check it again.

Hi guys, I know I'm late,  but I had to have a try here, especially that there are nice things and good hubbers sharing here.
By they way, I made a silly mistake "you'll discover when you visit the question page smile)"

I want to tell you that I wrote a topic that might enable someone in less than 90 minutes to save around $140 WOW!!!
Is that strange? smile No it's really not

Some people spend time watching the TV or chatting just to kill time and some of hard working people "like us wink" spend hours and hours to write hubs and blogs and do marketing to get some dollars "may be 10 or more or less".

Why don't we use our time to save money instead of getting more money!!! Good idea, isn't it!!!
