I appreciate your explanation between narrative and lyric poetry, John. I enjoyed the article and loved the poem. Wandering around the world that way sounds a bit glamorous.

This is wonderful poetry about a traveler's lifestyle. It opened my eyes for real how his life and yearnings could be. I loved the prose too about the differences between narrative and lyrical poetry. The quotes are equally enticing. Thank you for giving me delight on this Tuesday afternoon.

Thanks Pamela for sharing John's post.

Hi Rosina. I am glad you found this description of a traveler's lifestyle to be appealing, and that you enjoyed the quotes and the prose about narrative and lyrical poetry. Thank you.

I loved it, John. So, when are you going to meet me in Antarctica? Let's just go there and explore if we can survive.... wink tongue Just kidding!!

The Urd/Hindi word for wanderer is 'banjara.' This word has always fascinated me; I wish I could be a wanderer for the rest of my life; there is so much beauty and wonder in our world that needs to be explored, but the question is: who's going to sponsor me??? big_smile

I believe we didn't become friends by chance; I think the cosmos has a reason for it. Let's travel around the world together. Let's be the wanderers.... OMG!... ''Two Starving Wandering Poets' sounds fascinating! big_smile

    Just having fun! smile

Thank you for brightening my day with your wonderful poem, my friend.

    Thanks Pamela for sharing.

Have a great day. Blessings to both of you!!

What a wonderful comment, Misbah. Antarctica.. sure, anytime. In the poem, I did say "between the poles" so we could meet anywhere and travel around the world smile But yes, I would need a sponsor too, being your fellow starving poet...but 'starving wandering poets' sure has a ring to it. I like the word 'banjara' too.
I am so glad this brightened your day. Blessings back to you.

    Hello John!
Thank you for the delightful read.
I liked the explanation about the narrative and the lyric poetry. Your poem is interesting and very well creates the image of the ‘Wanderer.’
I enjoy traveling and have been fortunate to see many wonderful places. I can relate to your words.
    Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Pamela for highlighting John’s excellent article.

      Hello Chitrangada,
Thank you for reading, and being able to relate to the words of my poem. I haven't travelled as much as I would like, but I can use my imagination as to what it could be like to travel freely to anywhere you desire. Have a great day.

John, thank you for taking the time to explain the difference between narrative and lyric poetry (I never knew). "Calling the whole world home." What a lovely thought. And, you featured one of my favorite places of the world in your illustrations--the Cinque Terra.

Hey Linda. I wasn't exactly sure of the differences either until I checked the definitions of both forms of poetry. Wouldn't it be great to be able to call the whole world home? I am also glad "the Cinque Terra" is one of your favourite places. Thank you for always supporting my work.

    Hello John!!!

(greeting you with my most energetic voice)

Was it just me, I noticed you incorporate two of your poem characters 'the wanderer' and 'the prospector'. I'm sure I've heard of these names somewhere in your response? to the prompts of Brenda.

I never really know the differences between various kinds of poetry.

Sometimes it happens I mix it all up in one masterpiece. And still I wouldn't know what kind of poetry it was.

I enjoyed reading your hub and a little Lesson 101.

Hoping I learn more and more a lot from you this year again.

Thank you Pamela for sharing this on discussions.

    Stay blessed all

Hi Gianella, you could be quite right that I may have used ‘the wanderer’ before, not ‘the prospector’ though, as far as I can remember. I don’t think he is one of my previous characters from a poem.
My memory isn’t the greatest, and I have repeated similar themes, characters before at times. If it wasn’t in the title of an article it is quite possible. I am glad you enjoyed this article though. Blessings.

    John
That's  a great write.  Poetry and lyrics often do seem the same.

Awe how I sometimes wish I could just be wanderer.
To visit places for just awhile then move on to the next.

I think i would like it very much.

    Great write.

Hello Brenda. I hope you are feeling better now after your health scare.
Thank you or reading. Yes, wouldn’t it be a greta life just wandering around the world and staying as long as you want wherever you want..calling every place “home.” I am glad you enjoyed this.
