John has already responded to Brenda's prompt. He has written poems and a short mystery story.

John..
You wasted no time putting together your article, "A Collection of Mysteries ~ Creative Writing."
I'm happy to see that this word prompt brought your muse to life.
Your poem, "Mystery
~A Poem in the Style of Rudyard Kipling~"
is quite astonishing. I love how you've weaved these words together.
Sometimes we find answers to mysteries while we sleep, but some stay hidden from view until we are gone from this life.
In "See the Person in the Book" you tell us to take time to see the writer behind his words.
To take a moment without doubt lingering in your mind and see the picture clearly.
Then perhaps you'll unlock the mystery of his actions & see he's worthy of your respect.
Great words... so many times what we are trying to convey is taken out of context.
Your piece "Why I Write Is No Mystery
~ A Poem in the Style of Robert Frost ~" shows us why one writes.
He writes to convey those thoughts weighing heavy on his heart.
Perhaps for everyone to understand & merge with the world.
There is no stopping the heart from picking up the pen and sending his voice throughout the universe.
Your story, "Fear Not the Night
~ A Flash Fiction Mystery ~" sounds like a wonderful opening for a longer story.
The O'Sullivan family disappears without a trace.
Except for one clue written in red chalk...
"Fear not the night, for I shall be the one to bring you peace."
This one Definitely sparks an interest.
It leaves the old mind wondering what happened.
John,
You've out done yourself on these pieces.
Great work!
I'll post a link in the word prompt article.
Hi Brenda, yes my muse quickly jumped on the word “mystery.” Thank you for your analysis of each piece. You are right about the story. It very well could be the teaser for something much longer. Perhaps I may expand on it in the future and turn it into a short story.
John, the Muse of Kipling has been lonely for 93 years. I'm confident she is happy now that she has found you. Wonderful responses to Brenda's prompt, especially the short story.
I like your mystery reasponselllivans.ur short story too, but I want to know what happended to the o'Sullivan family.
These are really mesmerizing poems and an ornamental short fiction- a perfect recipe before going to sleep tonight. Thank you for making my end of the day so delightful, John. Thank you so much for sharing. You did a fabulous justice to Brenda's prompt, "Mystery."
Thank you, Pamela, for sharing John's post.
Hi Rosina, I hope you slept well. I tried not to make this too scary, just mysterious. Thank you for reading.
Wonderful Poems, John. I loved the Rudyard Kipling poem(he also happens to be one of my favorite authors), as you have caught his style perfectly in your piece. The ending story is spooky, but I would love to know more about the mysterious writing of the O’Sullivan family and what happened to them. Great write, as usual, John.
Thanks, Rosina, for sharing.
Thank-you, Ravi. I am pleased that I managed to capture Kipling’s style.i live his poems and stories. Yes, maybe the O’Sullivan mystery needs more delving into and maybe some form of closure. But the prompt was “mystery” so I had to leave it as such
John...
A mystery is still a mystery even if it is solved.
Or left wide open for even more imagination.
You can keep going if you want, but I think your piece is fine for the word prompt.
However....you got a story here.
I can't wait to see where you take it.
I'm certain you will in time.
Hello John,
A beautiful and wholesome response to Brenda’s word prompt, Mystery. I liked all your creations, with special mention of “See the person in the book.”
Nice and thoughtful of you to compose poems, mentioning the celebrated poets.
The mystery story is engaging and interesting too.
Thank you for for the wonderful read.
Thank you Pamela.
John has created a great response to the mystery theme. I especially like the first poem. It describes the mysteries of life very well. Thank you for sharing the article, Pamela.

Chitrangada writes a great poem about a mysterious lady who stops her on the road and takes her to a deserted house. Who was the lady? To whom did the home belong? And most important, why did she stop Chitrangada? These questions make the poem a delightful mystery. I also liked the short story on...
