Of one light , or the glow of many. Of earth we are born, and of earth all return. struggles are about us all. Of one mind. Impossible it seems, yet of earth we are born, and of earth we all return. In a single life many are touched, as well may be destroyed. In peace we search for love and happines. War seeks an end as well a begining. Of earth born, we are bound to it's nature. to constant struggle. to constant change, and a constant seeking of peace. Of one light, or the glow of many. of earth we are born, and of earth we return.

      A World Filled With Peace

My poem of power...  will fill the world with peace
there'll be no sadness .. the violence will cease

You'll go back to the days of yesteryear
when doors remained open.. all night without fear

We'll no longer worry about semiautomatics
all guns would be gone.. there'll  be no fanatics

Imagine the joy among all humanity
no one will endure a life of insanity

There'll be much affection..  no police needed for safety and protection
no security alarms..  will be set for detection

I truly look  forward to a world filled with peace
and join every cultural in a ballroom feast

i saw some good poetry on hubs in a couple of series called poetic license but every time i go to find them now they are all gone and if the profile is right the last person to name a series poetic license was banned.
too bad because there was some good poetry there
maybe hp doesnt like more than one hub series having the same name or using the same name more than once?
i dont know but there were a few good poems there
there still are some good poems here justnot as many now

      RELIGIONS

The entire Buddhist monk’s life is but a preparation,
For his Death Point or moment of separation.

      The Jains have santhara,
Quitting life consciously to join with the paramatma.

      Hindus go into Samadhi,
Where there is no Congress, Shiv Sena, BJP or Samajwadi.

The Christian merges with the Holy Spirit,
      Peace, no more desperate.

The Sufi mystic to become one,
Dances, twirls, prays, trances to get the job done.

      Aghora means Illumined with Light,
Longing for Shiva in whom they delight.

Shamanism or the Art of Ecstasy,
The ultimate being one with the super entity.

There is no need to change your faith,
And on your old religion lay a wreath.

If the words written could reach down low
into the soul of the readers being.
Pulling out by the roots all the evils of
selfeshness and maybe he'd start seeing.

All that he has created in the mess of
this world and all that it might ever be.
Without the resident evil  holding us
all by the heart to be forever free.

The words would wrench the human element
from the hold of ignorance and bias.
To once and forever lead us  to a place
where shared our love could not deny us.

into a place of bliss and joy?
What if a simple law were passed,
Four nude girls for every boy?

Yes famine and war would still exist,
the world would still be troublesome
But nothing that can't be overlooked

treat others how you would like to be treated,

If I were to save the world
    with prose and mere words,
I would speak ever so softly
as to not wake or disturb.

    But I would announce loudly
to those who would want to hear.
Even the neighbor, who can only peek
    across the bushes and sneer.

I would pick up his paper
when it is raining and wet,
and I would take it somewhere dry
like his porch and leave it set.

I would not yell at the politicians
    or anyone who didn't agree.
    I would do something nice
    so others could certainly see.

    We cannot change everyone
but we can change who we are.
    Just something very little
    will certainly go far.

So if I could change the world,
it would not be by mere words and deeds.
I would just try to make someone smile
and by that plant some seeds.

        THe Massacre of Humanity

        We fake diplomatic smiles
        To cameras with flashing lights
        We blame each for all,
THe pain and guilt .As we fall,
Lies pile up like a brick wall,
Eating up every single ray we call,
Hope. Our vision of a better worldis fading,
Leaving bodies all over the place burning.

Millions can't find crums of bread,
        When we stuff ourselves instead
A massacre in the name of peace
When will all this bull shit seize
        No time for diplomatic smiles
Time to listen to those bloody cries
Let us lay down our differences
And go back to our senses

Or has our conscience been dead
        For a long time instead
        I wonder if treacherous history
Can forgive us for the massacre of Humanity

    My Message to the World

    Agree to stop all violence,
    for pain results in hate.
And if you cannot get along,
    for now, just separate.
Put your ego in its place.
Don't think of folks in terms of race.
    See someone else's child
    in each and every face.

Care for creatures great and small
if your heart's a human heart at all.
Within you find your power and sense.
Don't steal these things at someone's expense.

    Lend a hand.
    Dry a tear.
    Don't let others
    live in fear.
    Believe what you will
    about God or maker,
    but be a life-giver -
    not life-taker.

    Respect the world.
    Respect all life.
    Vow to battle
    grief and strife.
    Learn that kindness
    isn't weak.
    Learn to think
    before you speak.
    Gather wisdom
    where it grows.
    Know there's things
    you'll never know.

    Oh, World, we've so much work to do;
but we can do it - me and you.

Teach a child how to lose,
If you truly want them to win.
Teach them how to say please and thank you,
And how to make new friends.

Be there when they are sad and when they mess up
And when they spill a glass of milk-help them clean it up

Be the best that you can be-even when no one is around
And when the world cuts you a break,
    Spread the break around.

    Teach your kids,
Not to step on heads-in order to get to the top
Teach them that true luxury has nothing to do with things that can be bought

Kiss your kids and put them to bed with kindness and admiration
And every chance that you get take a family vacation
    Slow down-don’t go so fast
    Not all problems will disappear
If you don’t take time to love yourself you will never be able to see clear

Life is too short to forget who you are-
Ask yourself, if you don’t figure it out-
How will you show your kids how to stand up and be proud?
    Your children are the future-
Teach them the kindness of what can be

If we can change the world it will start with you and me
What we decide to do today and what we do tomorrow
When it comes to our kids and the choices we make,
We are deciding if our futures are filled with more happiness or more sorrow.

For all to stand as one being,as one solitare voice, and silence the call of war. no longer to hear weaping song of the lost, yet harmonise with the sound of peace.

    to remain on the shore.
To never take a chance, to never sail to more.

A breath is a short time
    to declare a war.
To just take for granted, the freedom from the gore.

Forever is too long a time,
    to never open a door.
To liberty and love, when all the hope is poor.

So before this time runs out,
and this diddy is a bore,
Open up your heart and shout- I want to live for more!!

(not my best, or my style. But I think you get the point.)

Before you pick the rock up
    Before you even decide
    Before you think you're better
    Take a look inside
The glass house you are living in
Is plain for all to see
Before you pick the rock up
Ask the question: What about me?

Have you looked at the stars lately?
Have you delved into its innermost being?
Tell me, what do you see?
What songs does she sing for you?
    Where do they lead you?

    Inside.

Look for that voice of reason
    where love always flows.
I can't describe it to you,
for it will be different for everyone.

Go there when times are tough.
Go there when you are happy.
    It does not matter:
    Love has no preference.

    Love is all there is.

A poem to change the world,
What words could make men see
    The travesty and evil,
this world as come to be?

    What words could one compose?
    That would embed tranquility
    Or end dismay and hopelessness
And clean our air and sea?

That one man or woman's pen
Could write words to make man see
That change must come from each of us
So this, a better place would be

    A poem to change the world;
Just what would my poem say?
Would it speak of hate and greed?
Or the love and kindness every day?

What words could my poem say?
That might ease the plight of poor
    More over remains the question
Why now, they listened not before.

SO I'll hearken not to write one
But instead by actions and by deeds
That I might make a difference
To each soul I'm blessed to meet.

Change may not come at once
But in time we may all see
If we but offer others hope
    With selfless anonymity

    To change the world

The world is spinning so fast
    its over come with wrath.
    Children cry in the night
    trembling, hiding from fright.

If a poem could change the world,
    I would see joy unfurled.
    Upon the masses ecstasy unleashed.
Children no longer hiding from beasts

free to play in sun and sand,
never afraid to take a hand,
never to know an unkind word,
never to be just part of the herd,

but cherished as a precious gift.
Growing strong as their souls lift
higher to heaven each blessed day
    forevermore to stay that way,

    innocent and free of care.
If the world would stop and stare
I’m sure we all would agree.
A child is our greatest mystery
... our only hope for a new history.

when poets run the world as if they already don't
    (but that's another subject entirely),
    when poets run the world,
fractal rainbows appear by command performance
above white castles in the orange sky
and the throngs gather under the rainclouds
to celebrate in their mud dance huts
up to their elbows in a rugby scrum.

    when poets run the world,
    pavlov's bell will go unnoticed;
in fact the whole clock thing will appear
as the real illusion that it is.

    when poets run the world
everybody's hands will be on their own switches,
    forgetting the manipulations,
    forgetting the machinations,
remembering the God nature within everybody's everyone,
everything will just be as the poet's dream.

when poets run the world as if they already don't
(but that is what the poets focus on),
    when poets run the world,
the doors will open wide in a grand gesture bow
and everyone will rise up in song
at the festival of feasts and feats resumes
in memories of what dreams unfold.

    when poets run the world,
the news gossip will comfort the masses
    on this rollercoaster ride we call a planet;
like springboards, eyes will turn to possibilities
    instead of eventualities and actuaries
because the insurance man can go fuck himself,
a sparrow doesn't need a policy for its nest,
a sparrow builds to suit and dreams whatever
    it wants into existence
and lest a sparrow fall was only an illusion
    in the first damn place.

    when poets run the world,
    well you know what?
    look around.

life is a poem when poets run the world.

The bible is like a map to God's Kingdom.
Treasures n promises r all hidden in His words.
All is there n given to us.
    see beyond the words
    meditate on them
n trust God with the supernatural.
Just allow Him to work wonders
    n make your life meaningful.
And many people stumble, never to climb up again
because they r leaning on their own strength n ability to sustain them.
Know that the Lord wants u to lean on Him as your pillar of strength,
to hold His hand n look up to Him
n not to sway to the right or to the left,
not letting Satan to pull u back,
but allow God to push u up,
allowing Him to take u to a higher level,
    to soar with Him.

Live up to God's expectations, not men's.
Please Him n achieve n succeed for Him.
Give glory n praises to Him.

Live your life as a living testimony for God.
    Be salt to the world.
Be light to those in darkness.
    Be a history maker.
Make your life count for Christ.
Live a life that's worth living.

nobody knows when the world will come to its end.
Then, there would be no right and wrong,
because justice then will no longer exist.
    Therefore the moment now,
n make full use of your time here.
do not let the evil one or anybody pull u down,
or influence your principle in what's right.
    Stand firm on your beliefs.
Discern right from wrong, based on the Lord's wisdom.
do not go astray, but go back to your Creator.
Love Him as He 1st loved u.
do right n don't go against your conscience.
Hear the still, small voice in u
    Know it's there n it's right.
    but sometimes u doubt yourself.
    have peace within your heart.
hold on to the things u believed r true
    put your trust in Him.
    be faithful.
    for He's always faithful
    n He'll never leave u.

    Don't go through each day
    without a sense of purpose.
Thank God for all that He had done for us.
It's because of His love that u n me get to live.
    His death brought life.
    Let's live for Him.

    I can see your heart
I can even feel the beat of it
    I can understand you
I know I care for you

In this wonderful world of ours
    Our legacy will be one
    And that one day
You and I will become real one

    Because you are my brother
    And you are my friend
We are one and the same
    Breathing living and loving!

So come and join me now
Let us dance and swing together
We can travel far and wide
Into this beautiful world of ours!

    It was there before Buddha

    Before Christ

    Before Mohammed

    Before Krishna

    Compassion

You will find it in the lion

You will find it even in the rain

    Tears come and pain

Then compassion and we are whole again

    Kind thought

    Kinder action

The wounded souls cry for it

    Only compassion heals

    Do no harm

Carry kindness in your mind always

    And where you find suffering

Your kindness will inspire your healing action

    In this way

    You find enlightenment

Wow great responses. I already wrote the poem I'd give to the world to change things. It's called turd stepping. It basically says that we are all going to face problems but how we deal with them will determine how we ourselves as well as other cope and feel about each day.
