According to an article dated September 18, 2012, due to the increasing racial and ethnic tolerance in this century and the resultant marrying across ethnic and racial lines, the human race is becoming more and more homogenized.  It is predicted in the future, that there would be only one race as all racial boundaries will be erased.

Okay, the page was removed for one reason or another.  The article stated that as a result of increasing racial/ethnic tolerance and its resultant intermarriage, people in the future will tend to be of one mixed race, similar to many people in Brazil.

Good, who knows, eventually the human race will accept that we are all equals and stop dropping bombs on one another, raging about immigrants  and debating which creed is closest to god. I look forward to this new period of enlightenment.

Please note regarding the link, the link will get one to an 409 error page; however, once one gets to the 409 page, type "one human race" in search, and the subject relating to the link will appear, just "enter" and the full article is there. Thank you.

Thanks,  I found it that way.
The article is inconclusive, really;   they're just estimating about this.

I see nothing wrong if the races become "homogenized",   if that's what happens naturally.     But if it's done as some sort of perverted sense of "fairness" or reverse-discrimination agenda, etc.  (which some people already advocate for!  as in they think people should deliberately pick out a mate who's got a different skin color!), then it's simply that----a reverse-discrimination tactic.   Personally,  I've always thought of everyone, regardless of skin color,  as "mankind", period, because that's what we are!!

But even as I think of everyone being humans, period, I also see nothing wrong with being happy with a different skin color.    It seems to me that it might become very boring if everyone looks similar,  and besides, where oh where would political activists go for fodder for their minority rights campaigns??!!  LOL.    They're always so awed by diversity;   I'll bet they'll be whining about being bored.   Or, as someone said, they'll find other things to use in their activism.   WHO will they be able to falsely accuse as racist then?!   Poor people;  their basis for living would be pulled out from under 'em!  ha.

Another point to be considered here is this----------culture.    Culture is often determined BY skin color, really,  and/or each is often the result OF the other.   Many people LIKE to have individual, diverse physical features,  as well as cultures in groups.    They also like to have different styles of living, cooking, eating, dancing, traditions, etc.  that are specific to them and the group they associate most with.

I always thought there was only one race.  Sadly the end of the red head is coming - no more Maureen O'Hara-s - that is beyond tragic.

I am also not convinced that the end of supposed "racial" differences will be sufficient to end tribalism - for centuries Japanese considered the Aynu racially inferior despite both being Asian.  Just check out how some blacks view others of the same heritage but with lighter or darker skin color.  Just check out how Italians and Greeks were treated when they first arrived here with olive complexions, dark brown eyes and straight dark hair.

Given sufficient reason people will find an excuse to belittle and hate each other.  Just consider how vile and contemptible those conservative, Republican, TEA party people are, if left to them there would be a revival of slavery, the Holocaust, chastity belts and all other kinds of retrograde insanity.

By the way - what a cool pic to include.  Nothing better than a laughing child.

Sarcasm frequently goes untranslated by these forums.  I will stack my conservatism against any one's.  My point was hyperbole.  Conservatives are usually the villains to every liberal.

Frequently race is an excuse for division and hate, not the cause.  In fact, I would conclude that it is not the cause of anything but always the excuse.  Poor Southern whites after the Civil War were the most likely to be racist, even more likely than wealthy whites.  Why, because race permitted them to excuse their poverty by creating an even lower class of people.  It happens time and again, ideology, self image and other non-racial causes masquerade as racial division.  Similarly, the Reformation Wars were not caused by religion but by political divisions within the Holy Roman Empire.  Religious reform merely gave the opponents a powerful tool for turning a struggle for influence into a battle on behalf of righteousness.

Just like today, liberals see themselves as "gods' " army and conservatives as the army of darkness.  The political labels liberals must have are necessary to keep the hatred alive.  Listen to how violently liberals hate conservatives and even non-conservative Republicans. It isn't about race, though liberals will always claim superiority in that regard, but, rather, it is about political power.  It is a religious war for them, that explains their frothing madness whenever they talk about Sarah Palin or the TEA party.

Wouldn't that be a blessing, the destruction of the Republican Party thus clearing the way for impenetrable Democrat majorities in Washington.  Ironically, the only place were this perceived destruction is occurring is among the ossified and cranky old men in Washington.  In the States, you remember them, they created the Federal government and are empowered to dissolve it, there is a surge in conservative and Republican victories.  How do you think Michigan got a Republican governor?

Republicans hold legislative majorities in an increasing number of state houses and an increasing number of governors.  This is the incubator of Federal power.  In your lifetime it is likely that new Republicans, currently represented by men like Ted Cruse and Rad Paul, will hold the majorities in Congress.

The tide of political history is turning and liberalism will be swept aside.

Michigan's problem isn't so much with the governor but rather with the Tea Party term-limited morons and fanatics in the legislature.

"men like Ted Cruse and Rad Paul, will hold the majorities in Congress."  Cruz and Paul are what's wrong with the GOP.

I love when people make the "we have the governors and the state houses..."

Congrats on getting North AND South Dakota and the other states with populations lower than some large cities.

You can thank population density for keeping the GOP brand alive.

It is impressive how you fail to grasp the mechanism where by the federal government exists, at all.  I hope all liberals are so well educated in the legal aspects of our government.  You aren't quite getting the flight from big states to small ones or the bankruptcy of big states or that every state has 2 Senators or that once conservatives control the state houses in 38 states....  Oh, never mind,  I should have stopped with "you aren't quite getting it."

Well let's see, the liberal president which is apparently the most leftist thing ever seen won two clear margin elections one by 8% another by 4%, the liberals wont eh Senate and then the majority of the American voting population voted for a democrat Congress but due to population distribution Republicans managed to hold onto congress losing several seats.

But the issues, well conservatives are doing really well on same sex marriage... no wait they are being destroyed there, conservatives managed to keep gay people out of the military... no wait even don't ask don't tell was repealed, well conservatives managed to stop public healthcare right? oh no they didn't and then the person who instituted it was re-elected, well conservatives managed to make abortions illegal right... nope, well they managed to make most people disagree with Roe vs Wade right? Nope not that either according to the polls, not by a long shot. Marijuana legalization is going the way of the liberals as we speak, in the polls and in the states.  Jeez I really could go on all day like this.

But obviously conservative demographics are growing right? or moving in the right direction anyway. Well nope minority groups that Republicans have never managed to win are growing and those minority groups are actually moving further Democrat, Democrats increased their share of Asian Americans, Hispanics and African Americans last election.

Yep you are correct, Republicans will run state legislatures. That's fine with me, Democrats will run the country.

I have believed for years that the increase of marriage across different ethnic groups ("races") was an inevitable, natural progression, that will only continue to increase. If humans do appear to become more homogenous in appearance, I am more inclined to think it would be within nations or regions instead of on a global scale. If a community shares language and national identity (which reduces barriers to socializing with each other), they are more likely to intermarry with each other, despite ethnic ("racial") differences.

      1. profile image57
retief2000posted 9 years agoin reply to this

Good point.  Interracial marriage is also nothing new, it is merely the resistance to it by the general culture that has changed.  If it was always unthinkable than how did my German great grand father marry my half Cherokee great grand mother.

        1. profile image51
NewYorkManposted 9 years agoin reply to this

I agree. Although it seems most people don't "marry out" there have always been those who are inclined to intermarry as well. Another factor in the increase of intermarriage today is the advancements in modern communication and ease of intercontinental travel. The increased exposure of different cultures to each other has also accelerated intermarriage on an international level. For example, due to the government imposed "one child" policies in China, there is an imbalance in which there are more men than available women in China. In recent years, many Chinese men went to Africa to work and ended up marrying African women.

    gmwilliams,

It is a sad commentary to human beings that they have allowed themselves to live up to the ignorance of others whose in tolerance have driven people to the idea that differences are unacceptable. How is it that lower species such as dogs, cats etc. do not take issue with the differences in the species? Only the most so-called intelligent beings on the planet uses differences to try and appear elevated above others.

If differences really were the primary problem, then there would not be problems within the same race. Blend all the racist together, turned them into one race and I guarantee you there will be another issue-maybe they are too tall, too fat etc. but rest assure ignorance doesn't leave once the smokescreen is gone.
