If MAGA were attempting an actual coup, you'd think they'd have brought their actual weapons - given their self-proclaimed status as proud "2nd Amendment enthusiasts." Does anyone else think it's fishy that the DC Metro PD and the Mayor refused assistance from the Pentagon, purposely placed too few officers on duty to be effective, ushered demonstrators in the capitol building for about an hour as lawmakers were hidden in the bowels. And voila: They already had legislation drawn up to begin a new, domestic war on terror in which the Feds and Silicon Valley oligarchs censor the internet, create a Ministry of Truth, and de-platform political dissent (esp when our blatantly fraudulent election results are called into question)

It is somewhat scary how the left is criminalizing dissent. I was shocked at how quickly big tech jumped in to help.

We live in scary times.  My job ensures I interact with random people nationwide.  The level of irrational and emotional diatribes I am exposed to from both far ends helps my understand how dangerous this climate is.  We have the ability to openly share ideas, through the internet, at an unprecedented rate; yet our politicians and big tech (aided by the media) are actively orchestrating virtual echo chambers to facilitate distrust through misinformation.

The only hope I see for a faster de-escalation of this powder keg is for politicians to stop.  Rethink.  Be states people and not drones of the party.  Not going to happen.

        This isn't dissent, it's a crime.

Livetolearn, the Left is cracking down on any type of conservative dissent.  They are threatened by any opinion that isn't liberal or leftist.    The left is creating an increasingly totalitarian society.

I agree and I don't quite understand what they are afraid of. But I do see it is a broad, concerted effort to twist words and create interpretations that are consistently nefarious. I spoke to a gentleman yesterday who went on a 20 minute rant about anyone who leans right which was so bizarrely off base, so insanely paranoid and insulting, I really felt sorry for him. There was no point in attempting to engage in conversation. He needed a therapist.

I see the internet as part of the problem. We have personalities pushing agendas. We have weak minded people easily led. And, don't get me wrong. I respect those with lower intellects. They have the same rights to opinions and desire to pursue the American dream. They have the right to vote their conscience. But journalism is, for all intents and purposes, dead. Killed by egotistical pundits using click bait sales practices. And those incapable of critical thought become weapons in their war.

There is no deprogramming MAGA, who honestly believe the lies they've been told about the election being stolen.
Just like there is no deprogramming Blue MAGA, who honestly believe the election was stolen from Hillary in 2016.
Our elections are most certainly fraudulent. But both sides are nuts and completely brainwashed by their trash media bubbles. The parties steal the primary elections which they control. Not the case when both parties participate in counting general election votes.
If we want to ease tensions, I have a solution: prisoner swap. We petition that the incoming Biden/Harris administration, by 2024, pardon anyone charged over the January 6th demonstrations. They also must pardon Leonard Peltier, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Assata Shakur, scores of Black liberation and environmental activists, along with Assange, Snowden, Manning, & Winner

      You would think so, agreed!
But we aren't supposed to think about it too hard.
We aren't supposed to question the obvious, as you have done.
We are to believe that Trump supporters that have been attending rallies for the past four years, without incident (tea party rallies before that, without incident) suddenly went rogue!
That's the story and it must be promoted.

How did 1 police officer die and 50+ get injured from this peaceful demonstration?

        1. Justin Earick profile image71
Justin Earickposted 2 years agoin reply to this

Did you watch Trump's speech? He kept saying that the election was stolen, said he'd never concede, and urged the crowd to march to the capitol for the electoral college vote. But he also repeatedly instructed the crowd to be peaceful during their non-violent direct action (obviously not his verbiage).
The splinter group who stormed the capitol building were already there. Capitol police repeatedly refused Pentagon offers for National Guard troops, purposely placed too few on duty to guard the perimeter, chose to retreat into the building and secure the lawmakers, and ushered the crowd inside for an hour of gallivanting about. We've learned in the days since, that many of the people in that crowd were plain clothes police officers who are being identified by internet sleuths and suspended/arrested. (Similar to how undercover agent provocateurs started the trouble that was blamed on antifa, at the fraction of BLM protests which resulted in property damage or violence.)
We've also learned that lawmakers gave tours to the people who supposedly had them so frightened the next day.
And when lawmakers emerged, they already had plans worked up to start a new, domestic war on terror, to label MAGA a domestic terror group, use the threat of regulation to coerce tech companies to censor and de-platform election Wrong Think, and expel elected Republicans from office.
In the week since, we've seen numerous establishment and neocon Republicans join hand in hand with the liberals to condemn Trump and his rabid followers.
Liberals have been rehabilitating every neocon war criminal in the country, and allowing ghouls like Bill Krystol, Rick Wilson, Steve Schmidt, Jennifer Rubin, Mike Bloomberg, and Colin Powell to reshape the modern Democratic Party. They've been uplifting every former CIA and NSA agent they can find, and sending them to congress, and nodding along with their lies on cable news shows.
And now these authoritarian liberals are doxxing regular people and trying to take their employment.
Eerily similar to the McCarthy-ism that got the left chased out of this country in the 1950's with employment blacklists and the Hearings on Un-American activities, in order to break apart the coalition of communists, socialists, and trade unionists, who organized thousands of protests and strikes across the country, and forced FDR to implement Social Security, the minimum wage, unemployment insurance, the GI Bill, the FHA, regulation to keep banksters from gambling our deposits away on the stock market, and federal jobs programs which hired unemployed people to build roads and bring electricity to rural farmers and end the Dust Bowl disaster with soil conservation efforts...
Good-hearted liberals honestly believe they are fighting racism and a dangerous white supremacy that tried to steal the election. But the people they wish to empower (the Feds and Silicon Valley oligarchs) don't give a damn about Trump or white supremacy.
They give a damn about stopping leftists who want to -gasp- raise their marginal tax rates and make them pay their workers a living wage. And liberals are giddily giving them the power to do it.

So, Republicans staged the whole thing?

There is no proof of that in the videos and in people's testimonies.
The truth, however, will be seen clearly, as there has been much evidence gathered on cell phones etc. to reveal that this viewpoint is false.

What? It seems like you don't actually read anything, you just move your eyes across the screen while making up words in your head.
I was responding to a liberal. I basically wrote a novel and barely even mentioned Republicans.
It is the Democrats who want to start a domestic war on terror in response to J6. Which will further empower the Feds and Silicon Valley oligarchs. Which will largely be used against the left. Because the powers that be don't care about white supremacy (unless it hurts profits). They do care about suppressing the views of people who want to tax their wealth and make them pay their workers a living wage. They do care about keeping workers of both parties divided (and they love that perpetuating racism accomplishes this). So you should know that establishment Republicans will gladly work with establishment Democrats to try and cast both MAGA and antifa and anyone else who questions their authority and lies, as fringe and dangerous and probably terrorist

The same way so many were hurt and killed during the summer riots. Pretty easy deduction. According to Forbes, as of June 8, 2020, at least 19 people died during the protests thus far... Need the death toll for the entire Summer of Love?

The alternate reality the right is living in has led to five people being killed and an attempt by some in Trump's support system to have actively sought to do harm to our elected officials as they executed their duties in electing our next President.  Plans for added violence on the day of the inauguration are being spread through social media sites.  Kicking domestic terrorists off of those sites is in the protection of our country - that is unless you promote that kind of thing.

The plans are for January 16-17. When the senate returns, they say that with a mere 15000 Trumpers, they can secure the area and set up check points and only allow Republican lawmakers who will somehow overturn the election to enter the capitol

+1000000000, Gus, yes they did & did & did ad infinitum.  For the past four years, all the Liberals/Democrats(who leaned to the left) did was complain & whine.  They had literal meltdowns.   They needed safe spaces & places for their angst.     Yes, stop the squeal was befitting for the Liberal/Democratic response to Trump's election.   I see this Democrats & Republicans akin to the German-Russian war from 1941-45.  Each side is totally hellbent.   Each party has become EXTREME.

That's not true at all. The Democrat Party has been lurching right for 40 years. Obama admitted that if he had the same exact policies in the 1980's, he'd have been a Reagan Republican. Carter kicked unions out of the presidential nomination process after Dems lost twice to Nixon. The Clintons took Koch Brother money to sell out the worker's party to the same corporate interests running the Republican Party, after Dems lost twice to Reagan. Clinton deregulated the banks and the media, and filled the prisons with Black and brown people, while at the same time "ending welfare as we know it." Obama used his mandate to implement the Heritage Foundation's individual mandate healthcare plan to enrich insurance companies, and he offered time and again to give Republicans the cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid that they've so badly wanted, in exchange for temporarily raising taxes on the rich. He kept the war machine humming, made the banks bigger, let the oil companies drill the arctic whenever they asked, let Michigan be poisoned, let Bush off for torture, let the banks off for causing the recession, coordinated DHS with union cops to bash skulls at Occupy, refused to even mention Wisconsin teachers losing collective bargaining rights, "let it play out" while Standing Rock water protectors were brutalized by Pinkerton oil cops...
While Democrats spent 40 years lurching right, Republicans have had to sprint right in order to maintain contrast with an increasingly conservative Democratic Party. Only over the past four years, have we added a handful of mildly leftist politicians to a right-wing Democratic Party that is now being shaped by conservative ghouls like Joe Biden, Colin Powell, Bill Krystol, Rick Wilson, Steve Schmidt, Jennifer Rubin, Mike Bloomberg...
There is no left wing party in America. We have a right-wing Democrat party, and a neo-fascist Republican party - and both are joined at the corporate, war-mongering hip

The United States have the most fraudulent elections in the entire developed world. We don't have a popular vote, so land mass matters more than actual people. On top of imaginary state lines, we allow politicians to gerrymander districts and literally pick their voters, block by block. We have politicians purging voter rolls and disenfranchising people with similar names of people who moved, or were charged with a felony, or skipped a couple elections. We have competitions in which tiny children hack our voting machines in minutes. We have voting machines and vote tabulation apps which are provided by companies owned and operated by partisans. We have primaries which are run by corrupt party organizations, who have argued in court that they get to pick the nominees, and not the voters. We have super delegates, and unbound delegates, and faithless electors - all safeguards should the elite disprove of the people's chosen candidate. We have an unofficial "money primary" in which candidates who fail to secure enough financial backing from wealthy sponsors for their privately financed campaign, never make it onto the ballot. We don't have paper back-ups or scans in many states. We don't have exit polling in many states. We don't have a weekend or holiday so that everyone can vote, and barely half the country bothers. And perhaps the greatest indictment, is that the exit polling companies have admitted that they change their numbers to more closely reflect the fraudulent election results provided by partisan election officials

We have a common enemy. To acknowledge this fact is to isolate the difficulty ...
Unless one does not wish to find a solution to totalitarianism and "1984."

      The Tactics of Totalitarianism:

      Eradicating common sense.
      Shutting down the truth.
      Threatening opponents.
      Surveilling the people.
      Abusing freedom of speech.
      Preventing freedom of speech.
      Allowing slander and supporting falsehoods.
      Creating illusions.
Allowing government agencies (such a the CIA) to control the news.
      Draining the treasury.
      Brainwashing, infiltrating the youth ...
      and the people.
