Here is another example where Trump FAILED and Biden-Harris SUCCEEDED.

Lordstown, OH: GM plant closes. Trump promises to fix it. Helps a startup that makes electric trucks (I thought Trump was against electric). It goes bankrupt and the CEO is under investigation.

Biden-Harris comes along with the CHIPS and Infrastructure plans and now Lordstown sports a brand new high tech plant that just negotiated a great new union contract. and has brought HOPE back to Lordstown.

Today, from the internet comments section:

I really don't understand how it's basically tied. Just think, half the country believes a TV personality, convicted felon, narcissist, and pathological liar who has a ton of pending court dates; who is a racist and sexist, mentally unstable, childish and has bragged about groping women without their consent, is doing just as well as a woman who has a proven background in politics, who has been proven to fight for people, and has nowhere near as much baggage as Trump.

Is our country just that stupid? What happened America? This is utterly embarrassing, and I hope the world is laughing at the idiocy of this election.

Without the Trump name and specific criticism (or anyone's name - insert "Biden" and the Right would be pushing this column), this resonated with me. We have lost our damn mind.

Liberals blame it on Trump, Republicans blame it on 'Woke' (and by extension, Biden and Harris), and us folks in the middle blame both.

No offense meant, but based on recent comments, while you may see yourself as 'in the middle,' I am one who does not.  No one can read that article and think the bully with bad hair is anyone but Trump, or that when the writer references the guy in the race for president - that he's referring to Harris.

          Its funny that...

Tulsi Gabbard, RFK Jr., Elon Musk, Eric Weinstein, Bret Weinstein...

These were all progressive Democrats not so long ago...

Now they are pleading to all rational Americans, get the current crew out of the Executive Office before its too late...

          1. Valeant profile image74

And it's even funnier that most of Trump's cabinet from his first term says not to let him back into the Executive Office.  These are people that actually worked with him and saw him up close.

What former Harris staffers are saying the same thing?

So, Gabbard, RFK Jr., Musk, and a few other uber-wealthy guys aren't pleading to the rational Americans - they are pleading to those that can help them further their own careers or expand their own personal wealth.

That's right, the scumbags of DC say Trump is unfit...

You know who backs Harris... Dick Cheney... Dick F'n Cheney...

You know, the guy all you Democrats are supposed to hate... a real SOB nearing to the levels of what you accuse Trump of being... the guy who rescinded parts of the Geneva Convention to allow us to torture... the guy who was pulling strings to get us into the Iraq War...

THAT GUY is on YOUR side...

The real freedom loving believers in equality and justice for all ARE on Trumps side... the RFK Jr. ... Tulsi Gabbard ... Eric Weinsteins of the world...

Those aren't equality and justice for all people.  They are Trump is above the law people.  People that believe in his authoritarian vision because they were rejected by the Democratic Party and think they can advance their political careers in a quid pro quo with Trump.

And yes, there are two former Republican Vice Presidents who refuse to endorse Trump for office - openly stating he is unfit for the post.  How many Democratic former VP's are against Harris?

And for the record, the only scumbag of DC is Trump.  The dude violated campaign finance law, and members of his campaign were colluding with a hostile foreign government, in 2016 to win the one election he was successful in.  Then when he got his butt handed to him in 2020, he violated numerous laws to try and pull a coup.  When that failed, he organized a rally and incited an angry mob that ended up attacking police and the Congress that was set to certify his massive loss.  Now, that's what a scumbag look likes.

The point wasn't about limiting the "Trump" use (or arguing against it), it was about pointing the finger at any specific politician to make the article's point. It worked without naming names because both sides could agree that 'we've lost our mind,' the only argument is the 'why.'

Without the Trump parts, many could see it fitting their view of current times—they simply insert their criticisms of 'why'. That point was made in my first response. I didn't say the piece could be bipartisan with the Trump stuff in place.

      Easy peasy.

Economy - It will keep on improving from the initiatives Biden put in place over the last four years.  Inflation, which neither Biden nor Harris caused, is now lower than when Trump left office.  Harris' plans to grow housing and lower medical costs will only help Americans.

On the other hand, Trump's plans to deport a significant percentage of the American workforce will only drive our economy into a ditch and increase inflation dramatically. His promises to cut everybody's taxes will leave America bankrupt with the biggest national debt ever.

Border - MAGA Republicans forced Biden to use executive action rather than Congressional action to bring the border under control.  Harris will keep it that way.

Foreign Policy - Harris will continue to standup to Putin rather than Trump's conciliation. She won't give Ukraine away to Russia as Trump has effectively promised to do. She will continue to strongly support Israel while still trying to stop the slaughter of innocent Palestinians. Trump has indicated he will help Netanyahu eradicate them.

      How is that for starters.

Very Good. Thank you. Some things I do not believe:

"Inflation is now lower than when Trump left office."
It is trickery to say this.

Deporting illegal aliens will "drive our economy into a ditch and increase inflation dramatically."
Law enforcement promotes peace and civil decency.

Cutting taxes "will leave America bankrupt with the biggest national debt ever."
A percolating economy is always promoted by cutting taxes.

"Harris will continue to stand up to Putin ..."
How the heck do you know this ... even if this was the way to go? Which it isn't.

"She will continue to strongly support Israel while still trying to stop the slaughter of innocent Palestinians."
Oh? And that's why/how the military plans of Israel's were leaked by OUR government to IRAN?

Inflation: Economists know that a president has no effect on the economy until about 6 months after they take office at the earliest.  In some cases, such as under Obama, it may start sooner if specific policies are implements such as he did. In that case, it took about four months to be implemented.  Until then, what happens to the economy is baked in from the previous president, Trump in this case.

January belongs totally to Trump and was 1.4%.  Feb which also belongs to Trump it rose to 1.7%. Mar is also Trump's since Biden had no role in happened that month it rose 2.6%.

April is the first month Obama so any results from what he implemented in late February 2009 and that was a reversal of the stock market. Other than that, there was no economic benefit to his program. So, in April, Trump's inflation rose to 4.2%,

It was only in May when people started seeing the effects of what Obama did in late Feb.  Biden, on the other hand, had only implemented Covid policies early on, not economic ones. So, in May of 2021, inflation attributable to Trump rose to 5%

Today, inflation is at 2.4%, well below that attributable to Trump's economy.

Cutting taxes.  There has only been ONE instance where cutting taxes resulted in economic growth since Korean War.  In every other tax cut the economy was not impacted or got worse along with the national debt and deficit.

If you disagree, please show me the second time a tax cut improved the GDP.

And you responded with "Oh? And that's why/how the military plans of Israel's were leaked by OUR government to IRAN?

Put those together and you get: "She [Harris] ...  while still trying to stop the slaughter of innocent Palestinians. And that's why/how the military plans of Israel's were leaked by OUR government to IRAN?"

Thought it time to remind Trump voters here what a LIAR he is (along with being a felon and sexual offender (what is it, the 25th women came forward this week to talk about how Trump had his hands all over her breasts/)

FROM the Joe Rogan Lie Fest:

    1. Trump repeated his frequent false claim that “we had 13,099 murderers dropped in our country over the last three years.” - A LIE He knows it has been over decades, including Trump's four years.

    2. "I won that second election so easy.”, Trump LIES.

    3. “You know, I built 570 miles of wall.”, Trump Exaggerates. It was 435 miles, but only 52 miles was new]. At least he didn't bring up his broken promise that Mexico was going to pay for it, lol.

    4. “She was in charge of the border.” , LYING about Harris.

    5. Trump claimed that at least “21 million” people have illegally crossed the border during the Biden administration - A LIE! The DHS as recorded 11 million. Further, Trump doesn't bother to mention that Biden and Harris has deported/expelled 3 million up until Jun 24.  Can any of you explain why Trump omitted this crucial fact? And, why you keep believing his lies?

    6. Trump did what he claims Biden does (and he does), get his stories confused in his old age.  He says polls showed him down 17 points to Clinton in Wisconsin. He called the polls "crooked stuff" because he won. Here's the problem, it was against Biden and he lost.  OOPS.

    7. “If you take a look at Wisconsin, they virtually admitted that the election was rigged, robbed and stolen.” - This is a LIE, of course.

    8. "Trump falsely claimed that, just before is interview with Rogan, there was a ruling in a legal “case where they found thousands of illegal ballots.” - This is either a LIE or he is suffering from dementia. The verdict was about illegal scrubbing of voter rolls by the Republican governor, not illegal ballots!

I'll stop here, there are another 24 lies.

At Madison Square Garden where he and his surrogates amped up there racism and demagogy, Trump continued his torrent of LIES which apparently fools his supporters to no end.

      1. “You know why? They spent their money on bringing in illegal migrants, so they didn’t have money for Georgia and North Carolina and Alabama and Tennessee and Florida and South Carolina.” Trump repeated, “They didn’t have any money for them. They spent all of their money on bringing in illegal immigrants.” - LIE! If anything, Biden spent all the money expelling illegal immigrants. But that is not true either. FEMA has plenty of money for Helene and Milton. I personally know people who received it.

      2. Trump claims that in Jan 2021, the month he left office, border crossings were the "“the lowest illegal immigration that we’ve ever had in recorded history.” - LIAR! 1) The chart he was pointing at showed April 2020, 2) COVID was the reason it was so low, and 3) it was not the lowest in recorded history.  WHY do you guys believe ANYTHING he says?

      3. Trump repeated his vow that, if elected, he would liberate every “city and town that has been invaded and conquered” by migrants. - ROFL! He won't have anything to do since no city has been invaded by migrants.

      4. Trump continues his narcissistic LIES about rally sizes.

      5. Trump repeated his false claim that he “ended” the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline from Russia to Germany, adding, “It was dead.” - LIE. The project resumed in December 2020.

      6. Trump falsely claimed that, when he was president, “we had no inflation.” -  HUGE LIE. Cumulative inflation during Trump’s presidency was about 8%. It then carried over into the first 4 months of 2021 ending with an annual inflation rate of 4.2% in April (cumulative 1.8% for a total of 9.8%)

They listed another five LIES and you can read them here:

The gathering on  Madison Square Garden is one of the many shows that is showing the narrative that the election is stolen when Harris wins.

Just like against the election against Biden, beforehand Trump is creating a storybook in case he loses.

Last time he evoked hatred en violence with his words. Not cooperating with a peaceful transition of power. With the result of the storming of the Capitol.

This is pure intimidation and violence, bullish behaviour.

The election is much more than Trump...

The Democrats work tirelessly to make it ONLY about Trump whenever possible, because all their policies and agendas are mostly insane to the majority of Americans... and the more they try and communicate their agendas and ideals to Americans, the more Americans stand up and say, NO... I don't want that.

So they have to revert to demonizing Trump and all that support him.

Because trying to sell Americans on letting in another 10 million migrants over the next 4 years is not an easy pitch.

Trying to sell Americans that we are going to escalate our war efforts overseas so financial institutions like BlackRock and companies like Shell can make their Trillions is not going to fly.

Arguments fall along economic class lines... who is going to lose their job to an immigrant?

A well-educated woman with a Master's Degree... or a High School educated man working for Waste Management picking up trash daily?

This also runs along male/female lines as well... all the crap jobs that women do not want to do, and that do not require higher education, the amount of money those jobs pay will continue to decline as low educated migrants come in to fill them.

Over 60% of college degrees go to women, a misleading figure as the majority of STEM related degrees go to non-American students... so what we have in America is more likely a 70 - 30 split in higher education going to women... while the critically necessary for a higher civilization's needs STEM field degrees are decreasing in terms of American graduates.

This is an election about putting Nation over International Oligarchy fantasies...

This is an election about preserving the Middle Class rather than sacrificing this class and creating a world of those with higher education and those without... which just so happens today to cut along the male - female divide as well.

And why is Harris' numbers improving with white men without college degrees?

Ken, why do so many Americans think this about Trump?

A new ABC News/Ipsos poll says 49% of registered voters agree that Trump fits the definition of “a political extremist who seeks to act as a dictator, disregards individual rights and threatens or uses force against their opponents.”

Can you explain why this kind of man, along with being a convicted felon, a sexual predator, the most prolific liar in American political history is your choice for President?

I can explain why everyone of those 49% think he is a "dictator [that] disregards individual rights and threatens or uses force against their opponents"

Because sources like MSNBC and NYT have been screaming that out for about 10 years now...

Why are they "screaming it?" (they haven't been of course, just reporting the truth), Because so many MAGA are brainwashed by Trump's rhetoric that it takes that to get through and release them from the spell Trump has over them.

In reality, what you describe as "screaming" is simply reporting the facts and truth

Studies have shown that the rhetoric people like Trump, Hitler, and other demagogues like them physically and almost permanently change the neural pathways in the brain.

Here is a little primer on how brainwashing works. I will annotate it a bit.

Brainwashing, also known as “coercive persuasion” or “thought reform,” affects the brain through intense psychological pressure, manipulation, and repetition, leading to observable changes in neural pathways and behavior. Here’s a breakdown of how brainwashing affects the brain:

Stress Response and Fear Conditioning: Brainwashing often begins with fear induction through threats (TRUMP), isolation, and sometimes physical deprivation. This activates the brain’s stress response, primarily engaging the amygdala, which plays a role in processing fear and emotional memories. Prolonged exposure to fear (Trump has been sowing fear since 2015) and stress can lead to changes in the amygdala, strengthening associations between certain ideas or behaviors and fear responses

Prefrontal Cortex Suppression: The prefrontal cortex (PFC), responsible for decision-making, critical thinking, and rational judgment, is also affected by brainwashing techniques. Intense psychological stress can reduce activity in the PFC, impairing one’s ability to critically evaluate information. This creates a mental environment where individuals are more susceptible to accepting new beliefs without rational scrutiny, as the critical thinking pathways in the brain are suppressedroplasticity (yes, that is a word) and Habit Formation: Repeated exposure to particular messages or behaviors promotes neuroplastic changes, essentially “rewiring” the brain. Constant repetition of specific ideologies or beliefs strengthens related neural pathways, making the new beliefs seem more natural or automatic over time. This is exactly how Trump has gotten MAGA under his control) This process is similar to how habits form—repeated behavior becomes ingrained, making it harder to return to previous beliefs or behaviors once brainwashed .

Recognitive Dissonance: Brainwashing often uses cognitive dissonance—a discomfort arising from holding contradictory beliefs—to encourage people to align their thoughts and behaviors with the imposed ideology. This is achieved by creating a psychologically uncomfortable environment, making it easier for individuals to abandon prior beliefs for new ones, relieving the dissonance. Over time, this reduces the brain's resistance to accepting conflicting ideas and increases susceptibility to manipulation.

Memory Alteration: The hippocampus, crucial for memory processing, is also impacted. Techniques used in brainwashing, [b]such as gaslighting and manipulating past events,[i](a favorite Trump tactic) can distort personal memories. This often causes individuals to question their own recollections, weakening their sense of identity and further embedding new, manipulated narratives into their memory .

In summary, brainwashing uses  stress, repetition, and manipulation to alter brain structure and function, suppress critical thinking, form new beliefs, and distort memories. The longer these techniques are applied, the more difficult it becomes for individuals to regain their original beliefs and sense of autonomy.

In other sources we find that  Trump and other demagogues use of words and phrases such as "vermin", "poisoning the blood", and "enemy within" are triggers to suspectable people that starts off the brainwashing process.

And yet, look at what Dems were able to achieve in their first two years.  Infrastructure - which Trump failed to accomplish in each of his four year.  Assistance for wounded vets.  Bipartisan gun safety reform.  CHIPS Act to bring manufacturing back to the US so we did not need to rely on China.  Capping drugs costs for seniors.  Student loan relief.

Saying those things are unpopular is just not accurate.  Many things about Biden were unpopular with the right - such as his humane treatment of immigrants and willingness to follow the asylum laws that many immigrants are taking advantage of.  His foreign policy.  His spending.

But while the right ignores the good he has done, many can recognize that he's accomplished many things during his term, including overseeing a very stable recovery from the train wreck of Trump's final year in office.  The statement that 'all their policies and agendas are mostly insane to the majority of Americans' should be amended to 'all their policies and agendas are mostly insane to the insane people who follow a convicted felon who failed in his one term in office.'

Exactly. Unfortunately, those people who voted for Hitler then, and didn't regret it, are called MAGA today. It is even worse, because everybody knows how unfit Trump is, but for one of two reasons, they don't care.

            1. They are brainwashed by his rhetoric and the neural connections in their brains have been almost permanently altered.

            2. They believe in his nativism, racism, misogyny, and criminal behavior already.

Gus, your answer is right.  The Democratic Party is pushing America into a VERY DANGEROUS direction.  People see this.  If traditional Democrats are voting or even becoming Republican, something is totally amiss within the Democratic Party.   I saw the direction that the Democratic Party went with Obama.   I said no more & voted for Trump.   I have voted for Trump in 2016 & 2020 & I will vote for him in 2024.

The Democrats are creating havoc in everything they touch.  The influx of illegals are creating crime in our cities.   The educational system has become a fiasco under Democratic tutelage-look at what is taught in the schools.   Forget about the astronomical rate of inflation, two bags of groceries cost at least $100.00.   Need I say more.   I don't live in a dream world, I live in reality.

Gus, many Democrats know this yet they cling to the Democratic delusion.   They know that what is done is wrong yet they go along w/it anyway.  This is analogous to what the Germans did under Hitler.  They sided w/him although he was evil.   They rationalized his actions as many Democrats rationalize the actions of the present Democrats.   The Democrats, if not stopped, will led America to utter perdition.

Or a candidate that says he would put "his moron friends" in charge...

Trump says he’ll put ex-NFL player in charge of US missile shield

Former President Trump told supporters Sunday that he wants to put former NFL player and failed GOP Senate candidate Herschel Walker in charge of a new missile defense shield if elected.

Walker, a staunch ally of Trump, appeared at a rally in Macon, Ga.
Trump, who spoke after Walker, said if elected, he would “build a missile defense shield all made in the USA,” and “put Herschel Walker in charge of that little sucker.”

Trump over the past year has declared that he would create an “Iron Dome” for the United States in a second term, referring to the missile defense system used by Israel.

On Sunday, he said “a lot of” such a system would be built in Georgia.

It is unclear if Trump meant Walker would be in charge of overseeing all U.S. missile defenses or the process of building a new system.

Walker spent 12 seasons in the NFL beginning in the late 1980s before retiring and pursuing business ventures in food processing, with no experience in missile defense or national security.

He eventually made his way to politics and served under Trump as a co-chair of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition from 2019 to 2020. Walker launched his first political campaign in Georgia’s 2022 Senate election, during which he supported finishing Trump’s southern border wall and for Washington to “heavily invest” in the military.

Walker’s campaign, however, was plagued by controversies and baffling and false statements. He mistakenly said there were 52 states, falsely claimed he was once an FBI agent, and lied about graduating from the University of Georgia, when in reality he had left to play professional football and did not complete his degree.

The TRUTH about Trump from Bill Clinton.

"He still throws in Arkansas-spun laugh lines, like Donald Trump “spreads blame like a John Deere spreads manure” or a favorite bit he has about how the Republican nominee would take credit for this unseasonably sunny weather in the final campaign stretch but would blame Biden if it rained."

The last one speaks to the Trump supporters on this forum.  Very unfair of them.

    Another truthful observation from Clinton

"“What has surprised so many people – although I’m sure this happened in the ‘30s throughout Europe, when they were considering things with fascism – a lot of people just can’t believe how many voters in America agree that he doesn’t make sense, agree that he’s advocating things that would be bad, but somehow think that if the experience was good for them back then, it was magically his doing and everything was fine,” Clinton said. “So, I don’t know what’s going to happen.”"  - I guess he could have brought up the convicted felon, sexual predator, and 100,000s of unnecessary Covid deaths thing, but maybe didn't want to pile on.

    Another thought from Clinton:

"“I think you have to look at what the definition of ‘survive’ is,” Clinton said. “You can put me on a breathing tube tonight, but it wouldn’t be surviving like I’m surviving now. And the same thing’s true in politics. I don’t know if we can survive or not – I think it would be a travesty if he became president again.”" - I hadn't heard it put that way before, but it makes sense. I can't help but think of all those Covid patients on breathing tubes that eventually died, many of them because of Trump's poor policies.

OK, I'll give you the whole thing.

Trump definitely has cognitive problems. If this video doesn't open,

It a recent large venue Trump was at which he said was overflowing with attendees.  Maybe it was, if you didn't look to high to see about 30 - 50% of the seats empty, ROFL?

tsmog made a post in his Polling forum. It was about the huge disparity in trust in elections.

I was going to post this there, but in the spirit of non-partisanship, I am posting it here.

"And that last quote says it all about Trump.

From at least 2004 to 2008, Republicans were more confident that Democrats in the fairness of elections. The Great Bush Recession changed all that when Ds and Rs equally didn't trust the elections at 57%

From 2008 to 2016, Rs remained at around 57% while Ds jumped to 85%, Then Trump won and now the Republicans trusted elections more, their trust grew to 75%! Ds fell a bit to 69%.

Then came Trump's attack on American democracy and our elector system. While Ds remained in the 80s,  the more Trump disparaged our voting system, the more Republicans trust deteriorated.  By 2020, it plummeted to 44% and by 2022, it was at 40%,

This is statistical proof of how Trump is destroying our democracy."

With this incredulous story, Senator Tester may have a shot in Montana. It would appear his opponent, Sheehy got caught in a big fat lie.  Given the story he tis telling Megan Kelly, he either lied to a park ranger or to his commanding officer when in Afghanistan. Both stories can't be true at the same time.

Now Demented Trump is saying "he shouldn't have left the White House after losing" and that he "wouldn't mind if someone shot the press"  What a weirdo.

It would have been sad for America but still satisfying to have watched Trump being hauled away by his secret service detail.

Now, in the span of a few days, he has given his followers permission to go shoot Liz Cheney and a now the press.  I think the press now needs Secret Service protection.

But no, now he wants thousands more to get sick and die because America isn't vaccinated.

I guess Trump and Musk never studied history and learned how many people died each year from diseases vaccines protect us from.  How stupid are they?

I know my history. Some Germans (they would be called MAGA today) thought Hitler was a godsend. The same thing is behind Trump's success. The rest of the Germans didn't take Hitler seriously.

I KNOW my history also.   I majored in history as well as sociology.  Outside of this, I have studied history extensively.    I am very familiar with the history of the Third Reich.   Most Germans were with Hitler either out of agreement or fear of being put into concentration camps.   They did take Hitler seriously.   Remember, in Nazi Germany, people were watched by neighbors who would report them if they deviated from Nazi policy.  Also homes were bugged to ascertain who spoke against Hitler & Nazism.   You see I KNOW my history.

As I write this, Trump is four electoral votes away from establishing the Fourth Reich.

Credence, I suspect you might be wanting to follow your son to Europe.

Me? As Trump's wrecks America, the markets will fall, if not crash, so I am going to be selling a lot of Puts to hedge against the coming loss for some things or devesting entirely and going to cash in others.

Based on Trump's stated policies, this is what is likely to happen to America:

      * The economy will decline as he deports a significant portion of our work force and effectively ends legal immigration.

      * Ukraine will fall unless Europe steps in big time to help keep that democracy alive as ours fails.

      * Trump's tax plans will bankrupt America as revenues fall driving the national debt to levels we have never seen before.

      * Trump's tariff plans will put America at economic war with the rest of the world and drive inflation up beyond what the pandemic did. I wouldn't be surprised that goosed by our inability to meet demand due to deportations and little immigration we might approach the kinds of inflation we saw under Carter and Reagan, or worse.

      * If Trump follows through with installing idiots like Musk and RFK Jr. into his cabinet, Americas health and healthcare systems will suffer greatly by the end of four years.

      * The liberties of women and minorities will decline. Blacks and Latinos will finally understand why they should have voted for Harris, as discrimination and hate crimes rise on the one hand and the deportations rip families apart.

      * Freedom of religion will probably decline because the social conservative Christians will have a promoter.

God must really hate America to have let this happen to us.

America will be the laughingstock of the world for having elected a convicted felon, sexual predator, the most prolific liar in American political history, and the greatest conman in our history as President of the United States.

The fact that Joe Biden ever ran for president four years ago was a complete aberration.  The fact that he ever selected Kamala Harris as his running mate was indicative of his cognitive decline even back then.  The majority of Americans weren't going to stand by and watch Kamala Harris take over the Oval Office and run our nation into the ground.  The 2024 election results speak for themselves.  Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have run our nation like a pair of slumlords for the past 4 years.  It was time for us to evict them from the White House and give Donald Trump a second term in office.

Not really, Biden repaired the schisms that Trump rent in the world order in his first four years. The world had finally decided to trust America again after Trump destroyed that trust, and now his forces have just destroyed that. It will be a very long time before the world will look kindly on America.

BTW, you will finally get that recession/depression you have been predicting for the last four years.  One of two things will kick it off, either his tariffs or his deportations, depending on which happens first.

Those who falsely keep saying the our 2.3% inflation is "astronomical" will finally be telling the truth whenever either one of those events come to pass.

I am totally embarrassed for America with this outcome. We just stuck a huge middle finger to the rest of the world.

I am so embarrassed that half of America elected a 34-time convicted felon to be president - that makes him unfit for office by any moral standard.

I am so embarrassed that half of America elected an adjudicated sexual offender to be president - that makes him unfit for office by any moral standard.

I am so embarrassed that half of America elected a adjudicated fraudster to be president - that makes him unfit for office by any moral standard.

I am so embarrassed that half of America elected a man who was indicted for leading an insurrection to overturn an election he lost fair and square but keeps lying that he didn't and is destroying democracy in the process - that makes him unfit for office by any moral standard.

I am so embarrassed that half of America elected a former president who was indicted for stealing classified documents, wouldn't give them back voluntarily, and left them totally unsecured  - that makes him unfit for office by any moral standard.

I am so embarrassed that half of America elected a man who has been indicted for interfering with the Georgia election to be president - that makes him unfit for office by any moral standard.

Regardless of whether his previous policies were good or not (which arguably is that in the main, they were not) it says a lot about the lack of moral character of the people who elected him into office again to finish the destruction of America that he started eight years ago to ignore the evil this man represents.

I would feel embarrassed by the mockery my Party made of the DOJ and FBI... using them to cover up the crimes of people like Hunter Biden and Hillary Clinton... while finding ways to bypass Statute of Limitations and convict a person of a crime, that was not a felony, but somehow they made it a felony based on another crime they never convicted him with...

If I were a Democrat that is...

I wouldn't keep harping on the fact that he is a convicted felon when those convictions were going to be overturned due to the mockery of justice that they were.

I would also be ashamed that my Party knowingly put up a candidate they new had the onset of Dementia prior to his even running... and they spent 4 years hiding it, saying what everyone in the world saw wasn't really happening... elder abuse... greed for power... a 1st lady more worried about the galas and attention she got than the state of the nation... and a VP that over the course of 4 years proved woefully inadequate on the world stage, time after time while doing the duties of the VP she came across as clueless and un-informed of the issues she was supposedly there to address.

But to be a Democrat these days is to be out of touch with the real world... either because you have so much money that a 25% hike across the board in prices doesn't impact you... or because you suffer from the "woke mind virus"... an ideology that does not allow one to question, merely follow.

LOL do you feel that Trump Will survive the same scrutiny as Biden in terms of his mental acuity?  His every word and movement will be under a microscope, just as Biden's was.

Americans from both sides of the political spectrum should be alarmed by Trump’s words and behavior. The nation must confront the fact that beyond his hateful character, he is crippled cognitively and showing clear signs of mental illness.

There’s no need to resort to armchair psychology to interpret what’s apparent.  Trump will be the oldest president ever inaugurated. In recent weeks, he has canceled an increasing number of public appearances, with his  own campaign citing the candidate’s exhaustion. It's easy to imagine what a diminished, ragged figure he will be in 4 years.   When he does appear publicly, Trump struggles to complete sentences or sustain coherent thoughts, and has shown a pronounced difficulty concentrating and a tendency to repeat himself, sometimes within the same sentence.

He dodders about aimlessly, slurs his words and sometimes speaks gibberish. Always an effortless liar, now that his speeches are nothing more than a series of lies tangled in a mass inside his head, it appears he no longer even knows he’s lying.

And folks are going to try to say that we're not seeing the onset of dementia with Trump?

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink it.  In this case, you can show people the truth, but if they find dishonesty more appealing, you won't change their minds.

It will take the disaster that is to come to do that as they get buried in recessions and inflation.

My dear Credence, it isn't about race at all.  It is about social & economic policies.   I voted for Trump based upon issues of (1) the tsumanic influx of illegal immigrants, (2) the need to restore law & order to our cities, & (3) the stop to the escalating inflation.   People don't care about the racial or gender of the president, they care about THE TYPE of social & economic policies that president will implement.

Not true - what is said is that violent crime is down, leaving non-violent crime (theft, car jacking, while collar crimes, fraud, etc.) to rise.  Certainly cyber crime is on the rise; we are ALL getting more fraudulent emails.

But saying violent crime is down does not mean it is.  Could be that it is not being reported.  Could be that criminals are not being caught or not prosecuted when caught.  Could be that plea bargains are being offered to reduce it to something non-violent.

None of which would be surprising in large liberal cities - all of those are the type of things liberals think will help their cities.  Criminals are not, after all, responsible for their actions - that falls on their parents, their siblings, their neighbors or school or even society in general.

Or it could be because we don't have the prison cells to hold them - I know some places have released criminals early because of that.

This is your "ESCALATING" inflation you are so afraid of and that informed your vote:.

                    2022 - 8.0% (due to pandemic)
                    2023 - 4.1%
                    2024 - 2.4%

When I went to school, they were teaching me that "Escalating" meant the numbers were getting bigger over time, not smaller like these are. Maybe they changed what they are teaching.

Since the Biden policies were virtually identical to Trump's policies (minus the inhumane parts), apparently Trump's policies were responsible for the huge influx, don't you agree?

The reality is it wasn't the Trump-Biden policies at all.  Most of the influx was due to built up pressure that resulted when the border was shut down due Covid.

Further, your tsunami adjective is a lot hyperbolic.  Here is why I say that:

It seems logical that a president, except in rare circumstances can impact anything until a few months after taking office. say May.

Assuming that is true, then anything Biden did regarding the border (and he did very little initially, just kept most of Trump's border policies in place) wouldn't be seen until at least May 2021.  So, let's look at the number of encounters according to CBP:

                    Dec 2020: 73,966 (Trump policies)
                    Jan 2021: 75,317 (Trump policies)
                    Feb 2021: 101,098 (Trump policies)
                    Mar 2021: 173,277 (Trump/Biden policies)
                    April 2021: 178,795 (Trump/Biden policies)
May 2021: 180,597 (Biden, which are Trump policies)

And that is roughly where it stayed until Jun 2024, when it dropped to 90,704 and gotten lower from there.

So, can you explain why Trump's policies failed at the beginning of 2021? Why his policies were responsible for a tsunami of border encounters?

The first thing on the chopping block it appears is the world. Trump just stated he is going to once again threaten death and destruction in America and around the world by pulling out of climate agreements which will guarantee the worst possible outcome for the climate crisis.

2024 will go down as the hottest year in recorded history and is the first year to bust through the 1.5 degree C limit after which catastrophe's start piling up on each other.  This follows a record year in 2023.

Since some people in this forum don't read real news they may have missed the many of the deadliest wild fires, droughts, hurricanes, and heat occurred just in America in 2024. That was amplified across the world.

Maybe this will break through the propaganda induced fog in so many conservative minds.

2005 was the first record breaking year this century and 12th hottest this century.

Five years later it was 2010 which was 11th hottest this century

Four years after that it was 2014 which was 10th hottest this century

Then 2015 which was 5th hottest this century

Then 2016 which was tied for 3rd hottest this century

2017 ranked in the top three in 2017 which was 8th hottest this century

2018 ranked 4th hottest at that time which was 9th hottest this century

2019 ranked 2nd hottest at that time which was 6th hottest this century

2020 tied with 2016 as the hottest year on record which was tied for 3rd hottest this century

2021 ranked 6th hottest at that time which was 7th hottest this century

2022 ranked 5th hottest at that time which was 4th hottest this century

2023 ranked 2nd hottest this century

2024 will be the hottest in recorded history.

Unless a person has their head stuck deep into the sand, one can only conclude that things are getting much worse much quicker.

Further, the science is indisputable that this is because humans are putting too much heat trapping gases into our air and thereby poisoning the blood of the world.  IT IS THIS that Trump will perpetuate now that he will be President.

He IS going to cost YOU billions and billions of dollars repairing/preventing the damage that will be caused by his and other climate deniers abject stupidity.

They counted on, just as I did, that character matters. Well, to half the country, it does not. He could have gone and shot Nancy Pelosi in the head on the House floor and they would have still voted for him, that is how bad it is.

I'll go further and say he could do that in 2025 and he wouldn't even be impeached let alone convicted. He would also not face criminal action because 1) he is the sitting president and 2) he can count on the Supreme Court saying that was within his official duties.

On January 20, America will have its first King and Dictator who is protected from all accountability.

Here is what your Felon and Sexual Predator has in mind for you and America. Remember these are things he has said out loud to you.

      1.  Returning the civil service back to the 1800s when gov't jobs were rewards for loyalty.  GS-1s through GS-9s are probably safe from his retribution.  GS-10 through GS-12 probably are not safe from his revenge tour.  GS-14s and 15s who don't sign a loyalty oath will most likely be fired.

      2. Biden unweaponized the DOJ by putting a softy in as AG; Garland has a heavy hand in Trump being president today. Has Ellie Honig, a long time successful prosecutor of mob bosses, said something like that "while Garland played by the Marquis de Queensberry rules, Trump played by gutter mob-boss rules".  Now, Trump will complete the weaponization he started in 2018. He will appoint an AG who has the same lack of moral standards as he has and will do nothing without Trump's approval. You can kiss the FBI director goodbye and watch a new J. Edgar Hoover-type be installed.

      3. He wants to spend $12,000 times 20 million or $240 Billion to ship 5 - 10% of our workforce out of the country. This will skyrocket inflation and probably cause a severe recession.

      4. He says he is going to place a 60% tariff on anything imported into the US from China and a 10% tariff on everybody else, friend and foe alike.  That will mean retaliatory tariffs by all other nations. Several results will come from this stupidity. It will be much harder to find affordable products in the U.S. Even if we start making them here, the COST TO THE CONSUMER will be much higher. If the importers pass this tax on to consumers, that means inflation is back big time. Also driving up inflation will be the decrease in supply as we stop importing things. Those things combined will probably drive a recession as well in addition to deporting our workforce.

      5. Being born in America will not mean you are a citizen any more under the serial liar named Trump

      6. He wants football player Herschel Walker to build a new Star Wars missile defense system

      7. He wants to an anti-vaxer and pro-tooth decay nut job in charge of America's health

      8. He will probably put Elon Musk in charge of downsizing America and end many things Americans take for granted into terms of services. He will probably outsource those at a much higher cost to YOU.

9.He likes "wild" things like insurrections and now weather has he seeks to undo any gains made toward mitigating the impact of climate change. That is already costing Americans and estimated $150 Billion annually and will only grow geometrically.

My assumption was based on my belief that people in general are somewhat virtuous and would be turned off by such behavior.

Well, at least according to a CNN exit poll, I was very wrong, new voters are embracing that kind of despicable behavior as indicated by Trump winning first time voters by a whopping 13 points. I apparently was lulled into my favorable view of human nature by the fact that Biden had a 32 point advantage in 2016.

I also want to say before I forget again that Trump made one of his rare good decisions the other day by picking Susie Wiles to be his chief of staff. I don't see her staying around long though since her job will be trying to tamp down Trump's baser instincts rather than manage a campaign.

Yep, they had a choice between a mob boss and an effective leader. They chose the mob boss.

Speaking of Mob Bosses: Ellie Honig wrote a book about Trump called Untouchable.  He is a former prosecutor of mobsters and mob bosses in SDNY for a bunch of years. The book first covers why it is so hard to prosecute mob bosses.  He then compares those characteristics to how Trump has gotten away with his crimes.  Although he didn't know it at the time he wrote it, he puts a lot of the blame for Trump's win on Merrick Garland and his lack of will.

One thing that sticks out is that he sees that the ONLY difference between what he has observed with mob bosses and Trump is that Trump hasn't ordered a hit on anybody - that we know of.

We are free from a porous, uncontrolled border. We will soon have border agents empowered to do their jobs. Our country will be free of the rapes, abuse and drug marketing the illegal immigrants are capable of.

Same with police who have been prevented from keeping our citizens, streets and shops/markets/stores safe.

"In 2014, as Attorney General, Kamala Harris was one of the leading champions of Prop 47 — which eliminated the ability of police and prosecutors to arrest and punish criminals in California for countless crimes."

      https://reformcalifornia.org/news/how-t … ped-create

      https://www.opportunitynowsv.org/blog/p … nt-analyst

Causing the weakness/powerlessness of our border agents and policemen was a crime. Joe should have been impeached for it. Kamala was rejected by the voters for good reason. Both of these politicians went against our constitution: Article 4 Section 4.

It will never happen again. The deed has been done and the results were seen clearly.
      We found out.

      Constitution of the United States
      Article IV Section 4

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

The convicted felon and sexual predator who is now our president-elect has already jeopardized American National Security. Isn't that AMAZING? Not, it is expected.

It seems Trump signed a law in 2020 called the Presidential Transition Act. I am really surprised he signed it because it contains a requirement that anybody transitioning into a new administration must sign two agreements before they are allowed help from the GSA and in getting access to the classified information necessary to keep this country safe during the transition.

There is one major roadblock. They both require the person signing them to agree to abide by certain ethical standards and to have no conflicts of interest.. Trump and his people are refusing to sign them because of those requirements. Why? Because at least Trump knows that he will be in violation of both provisions given he has no moral compass and no ethics (a fact that is evident to everybody and his convictions prove) and that it is impossible for him not to have very serious conflicts of interest (which everybody also knows).

As I said, his criminal convictions for what amounts to election interference and his civil convictions for defamation, sexual abuse, and bank fraud (not to mention is many indictments for one crime or another) speak loudly to his lack of ethics and moral character. In addition, he has already proven in his first term that he is very willing to take in foreign money through his various business enterprises.

For example, it will be very, very easy for Saudi Arabia to funnel tens of millions of dollars into his pockets in order to buy influence by, for example, holding golf tournaments at his various properties using the PGA/Saudi controlled LIV organization.  Or, another example is, the Saudi's purchase millions of dollars worth of ads on Trump owned Truth Social.  Trump's kids are going to make out like bandits again as well.

Either way you look at it, that will be either extortion or bribery. But that is OK. Since the Conservatives on the Supreme Court made him King with virtually no way to hold his conduct accountable, Trump can do damn well what he pleases and not pay the price during or after his term in office.  Ain't America Great?

The damage may have already been done given that the deadline for the GSA agreement was Sept 1, which Trump ignored, and for the classified in/tel, it was Oct 1, which Trump also ignored.  Assuming he gives in and does sign the two documents, it will take time to run all the vetting necessary before his staff can access the information they need to protect America.

And it is not like this hasn't happened before, with horrible consequences.. In 2000, when the Supreme Court had to step in and declare Bush the winner, the transition was slowed down considerably. This led to Bush's team not being ready when he was inaugurated.  That lack of preparedness, according to the 9/11 Commission report was one of the factors that allowed the attack on the twin towers.

      https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/09/politics … index.html

Speaking of extortion, Trump recently said that for America to protect Taiwan, they will have to cough up lots of money, even though protecting them is to America's benefit. What a great guy, don't you think?

With any luck this "4B" movement will take hold in America. This movement started in South Korea in reaction to male making women subservient in that society. What is "4B" you ask? It is a movement where women basically swear off men. They won't marry them, have sex with them, date them, or have children with them. These women are sick and tired of having men tell them how to run their lives.

To understand this, we need a little history.

Fast forward to America. Like with Blacks, America has a very long history of keeping women subservient - for as long as America has been around. Only in the PROGRESSIVE State of New Jersey were women allowed to own property (if they were single), divorce, and vote.  That disappeared in 1807 due to what would be called Conservatives today led revolt claiming there were voter fraud issues and the fear women were being manipulated.

Over the next 200 years, women fought for (with the help of some liberal oriented men) and gained basic human rights. That culminated in 1964 *civil rights), 1965 (voting rights), and 1973 (right to privacy and controlling their own bodies).

Ever since those decisions social Conservatives have campaigned to take those rights away, slowly chipping away at things like protection from abusive husbands and the right to sue for discrimination in federal courts. The straw, as it were, that set off this movement was when social Conservatives finally got their way with the Dobbs decision which put control over women's bodies back in the hands of Conservative legislators (ironically, many of them women).

And women in America have a bleak future given that the three liberal justices on the Court are old so Trump will probably have the opportunity to appoint even more young, socially Conservative Justices to the bench cementing in the oppression of women for years, decades to come. Even if the older Conservative Justices leave the bench, Trump will just appoint younger ones; and with the far-right controlled Senate, those appoints will fly through. Can you blame them?

This "4B" movement might be the last chance women have to become equal with men again.

The question is: can women who join this movement be able to keep their commitment. The urge to have sex, have children, and to have a mate is very strong.  I wish them the best.

One word of warning (several, actually) is joining the "4B" movement can be dangerous (sort of proving the point) as this anecdote reflects:

"Abby K., a 27-year-old from Florida, recently broke up with her boyfriend over dismissive comments he made about Trump’s history of sexual abuse. When she posted a video about that and her decision to join the 4B movement, she says men flooded her DMs with death threats and hateful comments about her appearance."

On a personal note, while I sympathize with and support their view, as a liberal man I feel bad about being lumped in with the social Conservatives who are at war with women.  But, it is their life and wellbeing they are fighting for.

As a Conservative woman, I blame leftist feminists for screwed up women, and men! Throughout the 70's they were teaching us to hate men, but to love our bodies and ourselves --- to enjoy sex, but to destroy any new life which may come from it! As if babies were of no consequence, merely waste material!! That was their message for us girls! Men were of no consequence, and babies were of no consequence. When men (those who didn't die in war) did begin to make a comeback in relevancy, they were then to be seen as "toxic".
Fast forward to the 2020's, confused (ya think) biological men, participating in women's sports, preferring women's locker rooms and women's bathrooms, pretending to be women, refusing to be men! Women too spineless to speak out against it, and apparently, the outspoken feminists of the past... have all died off, for they no longer have anything to say!

Well, keeping it current, I feel deeply for young women who are being attacked in large numbers on social media by the trend "your body my choice"   the posts by the young men are vile.  I feel deeply for the elementary and middle school girls who are being harassed by their little boy classmates using the same and other phrases.   I've always been troubled by the fact that I frequently see children in the crowds of trump rallies.  The fact that I see youngsters, who have no concept of politics, wearing maga gear.    I've never seen Trump as a role model, certainly not exhibiting language or behavior a child should emulate.

Ignore me, won't be the first time nor the last I'm sure.
Women/girls need to start looking in the mirror, (I would add weak men, afraid of their masculinity) and stop playing the victim, blaming someone else or something else for their issues and shortcomings. Going further into their heads, ain't the way!

Let me understand a little more clearly... Are you saying that the women on social media who are being attacked, somehow deserve it?  To be even more clear, these are just women posting typical content and they are being inundated with vile messages on their posts.  It began with this young man's post and is spreading like wildfire...

So women are to blame for this guy?

AB,  just at a very basic level, I'm simply looking at a sweeping trend going on right now and I am trying to understand it.

People have turned Donald Trump  into the boogeyman, and he is not. We got into trouble long ago, between abortion and man-hate, women were given very bad advice and it has caught up with us. Men don't  know what is expected of them, they've received so many mixed signals.
If we can drown out the noise and focus on the individual, whether it be male or female, who God created us to be, we can heal.
My prayer is for people to look to God. People fail us, but God never will. People fall short, but God never does.

He turned himself into the boogeyman by being a convicted felon and sexual abuser. What he said at his rallies were despicable by any standards other than those who agree with him.

No, people are simply describing what Trump has no problem showing.

We could have a long debate about your version of God, but I will leave that to another forum.

It seem to me she is. That makes me wonder if she is one of those women who blame the woman for being raped, e.g. it was the way she was dressed or she had one too many drinks, as if those things make it OK to rape her.

I've never said, nor would I say, any such thing about victims of rape!
But, I am remembering discussions in the past, which involved you.... and I almost forgot, AVOID at all costs!! No need to further insult me, I'll leave.

Women/girls need to start looking in the mirror and stop playing the victim, blaming someone else or something else for their issues and shortcomings,

Can you see why I would wonder?

Where is the insult, btw.  I was commenting on what you wrote.

I haven't read WIllarbor's response yet so these are my thoughts.

I remember those days well. I remember I had to volunteer to go serve my country in Vietnam.  I remember that women were treated so much worse than today where they earned half as much at the same job assuming women were allowed by men to have those jobs.

Weren't those days that if a women was raped, the going in assumption was that it was HER fault? That in those days, domestic abuse was largely unpunished? That in those days women were expected to be barefoot and pregnant and to serve their man? I will allow that things like that improved since the 1950s, although conservatives fought the "Progress" every step of the way.

Could it be that those so-called "leftist feminists" were trying to shake off the shackles men put on them. That said, I do realize there is that subset of women who think that is the proper order of society and that shackles on women are needed.

History has taught that it was those "leftist feminists" who got YOU and other conservative women the right to vote, the right to own property, the right to divorce, the right to take their abusers to court, the right to equal pay (although we haven't progressed as a society to that point yet) among so many other things that made life as a woman worth living.

From my point of view, those leftist feminists did the world a lot of good.

Bingo!   It is disappointing to see that so many young men, Gen Z, have embraced the  hypermasculinity that's being pushed by maga these days.  For some men, women have advanced a little too much for their liking.

And they, and the conservative women who support them, are more than willing to put women back in your place.
