Here is another example where Trump FAILED and Biden-Harris SUCCEEDED.
Lordstown, OH: GM plant closes. Trump promises to fix it. Helps a startup that makes electric trucks (I thought Trump was against electric). It goes bankrupt and the CEO is under investigation.
Biden-Harris comes along with the CHIPS and Infrastructure plans and now Lordstown sports a brand new high tech plant that just negotiated a great new union contract. and has brought HOPE back to Lordstown.

Today, from the internet comments section:
I really don't understand how it's basically tied. Just think, half the country believes a TV personality, convicted felon, narcissist, and pathological liar who has a ton of pending court dates; who is a racist and sexist, mentally unstable, childish and has bragged about groping women without their consent, is doing just as well as a woman who has a proven background in politics, who has been proven to fight for people, and has nowhere near as much baggage as Trump.
Is our country just that stupid? What happened America? This is utterly embarrassing, and I hope the world is laughing at the idiocy of this election.
Without the Trump name and specific criticism (or anyone's name - insert "Biden" and the Right would be pushing this column), this resonated with me. We have lost our damn mind.
Liberals blame it on Trump, Republicans blame it on 'Woke' (and by extension, Biden and Harris), and us folks in the middle blame both.
GA
No offense meant, but based on recent comments, while you may see yourself as 'in the middle,' I am one who does not. No one can read that article and think the bully with bad hair is anyone but Trump, or that when the writer references the guy in the race for president - that he's referring to Harris.
Its funny that...
Tulsi Gabbard, RFK Jr., Elon Musk, Eric Weinstein, Bret Weinstein...
These were all progressive Democrats not so long ago...
Now they are pleading to all rational Americans, get the current crew out of the Executive Office before its too late...
And it's even funnier that most of Trump's cabinet from his first term says not to let him back into the Executive Office. These are people that actually worked with him and saw him up close.
What former Harris staffers are saying the same thing?
So, Gabbard, RFK Jr., Musk, and a few other uber-wealthy guys aren't pleading to the rational Americans - they are pleading to those that can help them further their own careers or expand their own personal wealth.
That's right, the scumbags of DC say Trump is unfit...
You know who backs Harris... Dick Cheney... Dick F'n Cheney...
You know, the guy all you Democrats are supposed to hate... a real SOB nearing to the levels of what you accuse Trump of being... the guy who rescinded parts of the Geneva Convention to allow us to torture... the guy who was pulling strings to get us into the Iraq War...
THAT GUY is on YOUR side...
The real freedom loving believers in equality and justice for all ARE on Trumps side... the RFK Jr. ... Tulsi Gabbard ... Eric Weinsteins of the world...
Those aren't equality and justice for all people. They are Trump is above the law people. People that believe in his authoritarian vision because they were rejected by the Democratic Party and think they can advance their political careers in a quid pro quo with Trump.
And yes, there are two former Republican Vice Presidents who refuse to endorse Trump for office - openly stating he is unfit for the post. How many Democratic former VP's are against Harris?
And for the record, the only scumbag of DC is Trump. The dude violated campaign finance law, and members of his campaign were colluding with a hostile foreign government, in 2016 to win the one election he was successful in. Then when he got his butt handed to him in 2020, he violated numerous laws to try and pull a coup. When that failed, he organized a rally and incited an angry mob that ended up attacking police and the Congress that was set to certify his massive loss. Now, that's what a scumbag look likes.
The point wasn't about limiting the "Trump" use (or arguing against it), it was about pointing the finger at any specific politician to make the article's point. It worked without naming names because both sides could agree that 'we've lost our mind,' the only argument is the 'why.'
GA
And my point was that it would take someone with rose-colored glasses on to reach the conclusion that it was referring to the candidates from both parties.
Without the Trump parts, many could see it fitting their view of current times—they simply insert their criticisms of 'why'. That point was made in my first response. I didn't say the piece could be bipartisan with the Trump stuff in place.
GA
Donald Trump called for police to be allowed "one real tough, nasty" and "violent day" to eradicate crime "immediately" at a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Sunday.
Trump advocating for 'The Purge' is so on-brand for MAGA.
Our media will never tell you the truth about how horrible this Biden-Harris Administration is for Americans.
They don't even cover the disaster that has wiped entire towns off the map... remember how they berated Bush for Katrina?

Good thing? Bad thing?
So GA, since you're likely the only Fox viewer on here with the open mind to listen to Harris being interviewed on Fox, what'd you think?
"When Harris is elected, America will keep on getting better as it has under Biden."
How so?
Easy peasy.
Economy - It will keep on improving from the initiatives Biden put in place over the last four years. Inflation, which neither Biden nor Harris caused, is now lower than when Trump left office. Harris' plans to grow housing and lower medical costs will only help Americans.
On the other hand, Trump's plans to deport a significant percentage of the American workforce will only drive our economy into a ditch and increase inflation dramatically. His promises to cut everybody's taxes will leave America bankrupt with the biggest national debt ever.
Border - MAGA Republicans forced Biden to use executive action rather than Congressional action to bring the border under control. Harris will keep it that way.
Foreign Policy - Harris will continue to standup to Putin rather than Trump's conciliation. She won't give Ukraine away to Russia as Trump has effectively promised to do. She will continue to strongly support Israel while still trying to stop the slaughter of innocent Palestinians. Trump has indicated he will help Netanyahu eradicate them.
How is that for starters.
Very Good. Thank you. Some things I do not believe:
"Inflation is now lower than when Trump left office."
It is trickery to say this.
Deporting illegal aliens will "drive our economy into a ditch and increase inflation dramatically."
Law enforcement promotes peace and civil decency.
Cutting taxes "will leave America bankrupt with the biggest national debt ever."
A percolating economy is always promoted by cutting taxes.
"Harris will continue to stand up to Putin ..."
How the heck do you know this ... even if this was the way to go? Which it isn't.
"She will continue to strongly support Israel while still trying to stop the slaughter of innocent Palestinians."
Oh? And that's why/how the military plans of Israel's were leaked by OUR government to IRAN?
Inflation: Economists know that a president has no effect on the economy until about 6 months after they take office at the earliest. In some cases, such as under Obama, it may start sooner if specific policies are implements such as he did. In that case, it took about four months to be implemented. Until then, what happens to the economy is baked in from the previous president, Trump in this case.
January belongs totally to Trump and was 1.4%. Feb which also belongs to Trump it rose to 1.7%. Mar is also Trump's since Biden had no role in happened that month it rose 2.6%.
April is the first month Obama so any results from what he implemented in late February 2009 and that was a reversal of the stock market. Other than that, there was no economic benefit to his program. So, in April, Trump's inflation rose to 4.2%,
It was only in May when people started seeing the effects of what Obama did in late Feb. Biden, on the other hand, had only implemented Covid policies early on, not economic ones. So, in May of 2021, inflation attributable to Trump rose to 5%
Today, inflation is at 2.4%, well below that attributable to Trump's economy.
He also wants to deport legal aliens as well as split up families where both documented and undocumented live.
You comment about police seems non-sequitur.
Cutting taxes. There has only been ONE instance where cutting taxes resulted in economic growth since Korean War. In every other tax cut the economy was not impacted or got worse along with the national debt and deficit.
If you disagree, please show me the second time a tax cut improved the GDP.
Putin - so you are suggesting the way to handle Putin is to concede to him?
Harris will stand up to Putin the same way Biden has.
Leaded plans - Boy, you are really stretching on that one. You seem to be saying, lol, that Harris is weak on Israel because she purposefully leaked military plans to Iran. WOW!
... not accusing her directly. You just did.
Just interpreting what you wrote.
I wrote: "She will continue to strongly support Israel while still trying to stop the slaughter of innocent Palestinians."
And you responded with "Oh? And that's why/how the military plans of Israel's were leaked by OUR government to IRAN?
Put those together and you get: "She [Harris] ... while still trying to stop the slaughter of innocent Palestinians. And that's why/how the military plans of Israel's were leaked by OUR government to IRAN?"
I was thinking about the blob behind her. However, she pretty much represents the blob ... as you blatantly and accurately suggest.
I guess we aren't reading the same thing, are we. And, the only blob I know of goes by the name of Donald Trump.
Welcome back, ESO, thanks for all the correspondence filling me in. As we get closer to,the election, the Republicans get that much more dirty and Trumps numbers are rising. Can he really be defeated?
When VP Harris wins, how many of the MAGA posters on this site do you think will go silent?
Thought it time to remind Trump voters here what a LIAR he is (along with being a felon and sexual offender (what is it, the 25th women came forward this week to talk about how Trump had his hands all over her breasts/)
FROM the Joe Rogan Lie Fest:
1. Trump repeated his frequent false claim that “we had 13,099 murderers dropped in our country over the last three years.” - A LIE He knows it has been over decades, including Trump's four years.
2. "I won that second election so easy.”, Trump LIES.
3. “You know, I built 570 miles of wall.”, Trump Exaggerates. It was 435 miles, but only 52 miles was new]. At least he didn't bring up his broken promise that Mexico was going to pay for it, lol.
4. “She was in charge of the border.” , LYING about Harris.
5. Trump claimed that at least “21 million” people have illegally crossed the border during the Biden administration - A LIE! The DHS as recorded 11 million. Further, Trump doesn't bother to mention that Biden and Harris has deported/expelled 3 million up until Jun 24. Can any of you explain why Trump omitted this crucial fact? And, why you keep believing his lies?
6. Trump did what he claims Biden does (and he does), get his stories confused in his old age. He says polls showed him down 17 points to Clinton in Wisconsin. He called the polls "crooked stuff" because he won. Here's the problem, it was against Biden and he lost. OOPS.
7. “If you take a look at Wisconsin, they virtually admitted that the election was rigged, robbed and stolen.” - This is a LIE, of course.
8. "Trump falsely claimed that, just before is interview with Rogan, there was a ruling in a legal “case where they found thousands of illegal ballots.” - This is either a LIE or he is suffering from dementia. The verdict was about illegal scrubbing of voter rolls by the Republican governor, not illegal ballots!
I'll stop here, there are another 24 lies.
https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/27/politics … index.html
At Madison Square Garden where he and his surrogates amped up there racism and demagogy, Trump continued his torrent of LIES which apparently fools his supporters to no end.
1. “You know why? They spent their money on bringing in illegal migrants, so they didn’t have money for Georgia and North Carolina and Alabama and Tennessee and Florida and South Carolina.” Trump repeated, “They didn’t have any money for them. They spent all of their money on bringing in illegal immigrants.” - LIE! If anything, Biden spent all the money expelling illegal immigrants. But that is not true either. FEMA has plenty of money for Helene and Milton. I personally know people who received it.
2. Trump claims that in Jan 2021, the month he left office, border crossings were the "“the lowest illegal immigration that we’ve ever had in recorded history.” - LIAR! 1) The chart he was pointing at showed April 2020, 2) COVID was the reason it was so low, and 3) it was not the lowest in recorded history. WHY do you guys believe ANYTHING he says?
3. Trump repeated his vow that, if elected, he would liberate every “city and town that has been invaded and conquered” by migrants. - ROFL! He won't have anything to do since no city has been invaded by migrants.
4. Trump continues his narcissistic LIES about rally sizes.
5. Trump repeated his false claim that he “ended” the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline from Russia to Germany, adding, “It was dead.” - LIE. The project resumed in December 2020.
6. Trump falsely claimed that, when he was president, “we had no inflation.” - HUGE LIE. Cumulative inflation during Trump’s presidency was about 8%. It then carried over into the first 4 months of 2021 ending with an annual inflation rate of 4.2% in April (cumulative 1.8% for a total of 9.8%)
They listed another five LIES and you can read them here:
https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/27/politics … index.html
The gathering on Madison Square Garden is one of the many shows that is showing the narrative that the election is stolen when Harris wins.
Just like against the election against Biden, beforehand Trump is creating a storybook in case he loses.
Last time he evoked hatred en violence with his words. Not cooperating with a peaceful transition of power. With the result of the storming of the Capitol.
This is pure intimidation and violence, bullish behaviour.
Bingo. He knows that he has lost. I am certain they have internal polling that tells them so. The show at the garden wasn't to convince undecided voters, it was to whip up anger in the base.
Interesting to see Harris’s small donations are dwarfing Trump’s.
That’s a big indicator or motivated voters.
This one is from August, so I guess it only increased.
His allies have already started burning drop boxes to destroy votes. Fortunately, they failed (save for three votes where the state is notifying them to vote again).
And the election domestic terrorism continues. Drop boxes set on fire in two states:
https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/28/us/ballo … index.html
If you saw this ad from Trump - YOU WERE LIED TO.
The ad's on-screen text attributed to an August article in The New York Times: “Harris is seeking to significantly raise taxes.” - That was edited by Trump.
The actual quote is "“Harris is seeking to significantly raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans and large corporations.”
If you saw this ad from Trump - YOU WERE LIED TO.
The ad attributes to a CBS News piece in September: “Harris vows to keep Biden’s border.” The text is accompanied by a narrator saying, falsely, that “Kamala was in charge of his open-border policies.” - That was edited by Trump.
The actual quote is "““Harris vows to keep Biden’s border crackdown: ‘The United States is a sovereign nation.’”
REMEMBER - it was Trump who blocked more border agents going to the border.
For those who think burning drop boxes is hyperbole, here is the last update where they have identified a suspects car.

As Trump continues to spiral downward, he also keeps getting dumber and dumber.
He is now running around in a garbage truck wear a caution vest. He thinks he is criticizing Biden for an unintended, stutter induced misstatement. He is not. He is reminding all Latinos how much he hates them because he thinks they are garbage and come from s-hole countries.
From what I read, he is hemorrhaging Latino votes as they are spreading the message in their community about how Trump really feels about them.
One popular Latino star who announced last week or so that he was supporting Trump has reversed course and told his 43 million followers that he made a mistake and they should dump Trump.
Spanish language radio in Nevada and Pennsylvania are broadcasting his "garbage" remarks about Puerto Rico and Puerto Ricans.
"your insinuations mean nothing but anyone but you, for the other readers here recognize your massive TDS and the necessity to exaggerate (and assume) anything and everything to demonize Trump "
His "insinuations" are actually evidence by fact and other readers recognize the truth of them because we read more than one news source and - what do you called it - think reasonably.
There is no need to demonize Trump. All you need to do is pay attention as people who have worked with him tell the truth.
I will be so glad when all this is over and HP goes back to having useful discussions and not all this endless posturing for a con man.
The election is much more than Trump...
The Democrats work tirelessly to make it ONLY about Trump whenever possible, because all their policies and agendas are mostly insane to the majority of Americans... and the more they try and communicate their agendas and ideals to Americans, the more Americans stand up and say, NO... I don't want that.
So they have to revert to demonizing Trump and all that support him.
Because trying to sell Americans on letting in another 10 million migrants over the next 4 years is not an easy pitch.
Trying to sell Americans that we are going to escalate our war efforts overseas so financial institutions like BlackRock and companies like Shell can make their Trillions is not going to fly.
Arguments fall along economic class lines... who is going to lose their job to an immigrant?
A well-educated woman with a Master's Degree... or a High School educated man working for Waste Management picking up trash daily?
This also runs along male/female lines as well... all the crap jobs that women do not want to do, and that do not require higher education, the amount of money those jobs pay will continue to decline as low educated migrants come in to fill them.
Over 60% of college degrees go to women, a misleading figure as the majority of STEM related degrees go to non-American students... so what we have in America is more likely a 70 - 30 split in higher education going to women... while the critically necessary for a higher civilization's needs STEM field degrees are decreasing in terms of American graduates.
This is an election about putting Nation over International Oligarchy fantasies...
This is an election about preserving the Middle Class rather than sacrificing this class and creating a world of those with higher education and those without... which just so happens today to cut along the male - female divide as well.
A very well thought out video I watched recently spells out some of these issues, it is worth the watch:
Why the Harris Campaign Is Striking Out With Men
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvyNLOWxfIU
I suspect the "majority of Americans" disagree with you a lot.
And why is Harris' numbers improving with white men without college degrees?
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics … ngNewsVerp
(this is about white voters in general but since she already has the white women, the shift is probably from white men. I read elsewhere, which I can't find now, that the shift was specifically from white men without college degrees.)
She is also regaining black male voters - https://www.npr.org/2024/10/28/nx-s1-51 … nald-trump
Ken, why do so many Americans think this about Trump?
A new ABC News/Ipsos poll says 49% of registered voters agree that Trump fits the definition of “a political extremist who seeks to act as a dictator, disregards individual rights and threatens or uses force against their opponents.”
Can you explain why this kind of man, along with being a convicted felon, a sexual predator, the most prolific liar in American political history is your choice for President?
I can explain why everyone of those 49% think he is a "dictator [that] disregards individual rights and threatens or uses force against their opponents"
Because sources like MSNBC and NYT have been screaming that out for about 10 years now...
It appears on about half the population, it works quite well.
Well, when you can name another president who organized and incited an attack on their own Congress at the very moment they were set to certify his loss, maybe he would have company in the fascist label.
Trump is so far from a dictator. He believes in freedom. It is Biden & his cohorts who are the dictators. They denigrate those who are against his inanely leftist policies.
If he believes in Freedom so much, why did he take a woman's right the chose away?
How are Biden and his cohorts dictators. Saying it doesn't make it true. Where is your PROOF???
Why are they "screaming it?" (they haven't been of course, just reporting the truth), Because so many MAGA are brainwashed by Trump's rhetoric that it takes that to get through and release them from the spell Trump has over them.
In reality, what you describe as "screaming" is simply reporting the facts and truth
Studies have shown that the rhetoric people like Trump, Hitler, and other demagogues like them physically and almost permanently change the neural pathways in the brain.
Here is a little primer on how brainwashing works. I will annotate it a bit.
Brainwashing, also known as “coercive persuasion” or “thought reform,” affects the brain through intense psychological pressure, manipulation, and repetition, leading to observable changes in neural pathways and behavior. Here’s a breakdown of how brainwashing affects the brain:
Stress Response and Fear Conditioning: Brainwashing often begins with fear induction through threats (TRUMP), isolation, and sometimes physical deprivation. This activates the brain’s stress response, primarily engaging the amygdala, which plays a role in processing fear and emotional memories. Prolonged exposure to fear (Trump has been sowing fear since 2015) and stress can lead to changes in the amygdala, strengthening associations between certain ideas or behaviors and fear responses
Prefrontal Cortex Suppression: The prefrontal cortex (PFC), responsible for decision-making, critical thinking, and rational judgment, is also affected by brainwashing techniques. Intense psychological stress can reduce activity in the PFC, impairing one’s ability to critically evaluate information. This creates a mental environment where individuals are more susceptible to accepting new beliefs without rational scrutiny, as the critical thinking pathways in the brain are suppressedroplasticity (yes, that is a word) and Habit Formation: Repeated exposure to particular messages or behaviors promotes neuroplastic changes, essentially “rewiring” the brain. Constant repetition of specific ideologies or beliefs strengthens related neural pathways, making the new beliefs seem more natural or automatic over time. This is exactly how Trump has gotten MAGA under his control) This process is similar to how habits form—repeated behavior becomes ingrained, making it harder to return to previous beliefs or behaviors once brainwashed .
Recognitive Dissonance: Brainwashing often uses cognitive dissonance—a discomfort arising from holding contradictory beliefs—to encourage people to align their thoughts and behaviors with the imposed ideology. This is achieved by creating a psychologically uncomfortable environment, making it easier for individuals to abandon prior beliefs for new ones, relieving the dissonance. Over time, this reduces the brain's resistance to accepting conflicting ideas and increases susceptibility to manipulation.
Memory Alteration: The hippocampus, crucial for memory processing, is also impacted. Techniques used in brainwashing, [b]such as gaslighting and manipulating past events,[i](a favorite Trump tactic) can distort personal memories. This often causes individuals to question their own recollections, weakening their sense of identity and further embedding new, manipulated narratives into their memory .
In summary, brainwashing uses stress, repetition, and manipulation to alter brain structure and function, suppress critical thinking, form new beliefs, and distort memories. The longer these techniques are applied, the more difficult it becomes for individuals to regain their original beliefs and sense of autonomy.
In other sources we find that Trump and other demagogues use of words and phrases such as "vermin", "poisoning the blood", and "enemy within" are triggers to suspectable people that starts off the brainwashing process.
And yet, look at what Dems were able to achieve in their first two years. Infrastructure - which Trump failed to accomplish in each of his four year. Assistance for wounded vets. Bipartisan gun safety reform. CHIPS Act to bring manufacturing back to the US so we did not need to rely on China. Capping drugs costs for seniors. Student loan relief.
Saying those things are unpopular is just not accurate. Many things about Biden were unpopular with the right - such as his humane treatment of immigrants and willingness to follow the asylum laws that many immigrants are taking advantage of. His foreign policy. His spending.
But while the right ignores the good he has done, many can recognize that he's accomplished many things during his term, including overseeing a very stable recovery from the train wreck of Trump's final year in office. The statement that 'all their policies and agendas are mostly insane to the majority of Americans' should be amended to 'all their policies and agendas are mostly insane to the insane people who follow a convicted felon who failed in his one term in office.'
Someone asked how Trump is destroying democracy. Well, besides being obvious here is one of the ways he has been doing that since 2019.
https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/01/politics … index.html
Trump has crossed another line by calling for the assassination of Liz Cheney!!!
“She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK?” the former president said at a campaign event in Glendale with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. “Let’s see how she feels about it, you know, when the guns are trained on her face.”
https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/01/politics … index.html
Openly stating that political opposition should be shot. Let's see how the MAGA cultists explain this one away.
Oh, he was just being humorously obtuse being the entertainer showman that he is, right?
Yes, just like many people thought that Hitler was a funny little man who was just exaggerating and making jokes.
On this political level you don't make such jokes!
Or you say what you mean, or you are incredibly diplomatic inapt. Both don't work for a future president.
Exactly. Unfortunately, those people who voted for Hitler then, and didn't regret it, are called MAGA today. It is even worse, because everybody knows how unfit Trump is, but for one of two reasons, they don't care.
1. They are brainwashed by his rhetoric and the neural connections in their brains have been almost permanently altered.
2. They believe in his nativism, racism, misogyny, and criminal behavior already.
Be fair, there's a third possible reason:
3. They believe the Democrats are pushing the country in such a dangerous direction that even Trump is a better choice.
GA
If you believe that then you need that "shovel" that you loaned to me more than I do
You act as if it were Trump that has been running the show the last 4 years.
Any doubts I had of a Harris win have effectively been removed with today's data that shows that Men are voting almost 10 points less than Women.
Women are going to go for Harris at least 60%... they went for Biden 58%.
No surprise... it will be a blue wave with the exceptions of OH, TX, and FL for the most part.
But it sure has been fun the past few weeks getting a rise out of you folks that take these things way too seriously.
You may well be right, but I will delight in "losing" and will eat crow with joyful glee. Your man has only himself to blame by trumpeting his misogyny attitudes and statements over the media. Women represent half the voting populace, how stupid is that?
Yes, Trump has been around too long, and it would be adequate if he just went away, go back to his yacht and his jets, even if he dodges going to prison.
We take it seriously because saving democracy from Trump is a very serious business. Remember what Peterstreep said - "People use to think Hitler was a funny little man"
Since they want some humor...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXYujAHrjqo
Enjoy!
Surely you're not saying that isn't a legitimately possible reason?
GA
It may be a legitimate reason for the most crimson red of reds.
It says that out of fear of differing politics and ideological foundations, you would advance a man that is completely incompetent and is a mere sock puppet for the malevolent behind him folks that pull his strings? You all thought that Barack Obama would bring the house down in 2008. Well, you know what GA, the sky did not fall.
Trump has threatened our democratic process and institutionsand is a rank criminal. His racism, misogyny and Xenophobia are the equivalent of an air raid siren rather than a dog whistle. He comes out with Archie Bunkerisms daily insulting us all except his base of white males. And you all go ostrich and not believe him and not take his threats at his word?
If you really had problems with Harris and the Democrats you could have selected a conservative candidate for your party without all the baggage and vitriol. But, you all would rather support a candidate's that resurrects the ugliest aspects of American life, double down on it and bring it to the forefront. Some of these Trumpers then actually have the nerve to ask me why I can't support him?
Gus, your answer is right. The Democratic Party is pushing America into a VERY DANGEROUS direction. People see this. If traditional Democrats are voting or even becoming Republican, something is totally amiss within the Democratic Party. I saw the direction that the Democratic Party went with Obama. I said no more & voted for Trump. I have voted for Trump in 2016 & 2020 & I will vote for him in 2024.
The Democrats are creating havoc in everything they touch. The influx of illegals are creating crime in our cities. The educational system has become a fiasco under Democratic tutelage-look at what is taught in the schools. Forget about the astronomical rate of inflation, two bags of groceries cost at least $100.00. Need I say more. I don't live in a dream world, I live in reality.
Gus, many Democrats know this yet they cling to the Democratic delusion. They know that what is done is wrong yet they go along w/it anyway. This is analogous to what the Germans did under Hitler. They sided w/him although he was evil. They rationalized his actions as many Democrats rationalize the actions of the present Democrats. The Democrats, if not stopped, will led America to utter perdition.
People see it... but the majority that do, have checked out...
Men in particular, working class and poor men... you could call them Men Going Their Own Way... MGTOW... and that way is, amongst other things, completely disconnecting from voting/elections.
PROVE that Democrats are pushing us in a dangerous direction. Give us reasonable examples.
Maybe you can use them giving us a $35 cap on insulin.
Maybe it was the CHIPS and Infrastructure Acts that produced and is producing so many jobs.
Are those examples of what you are talking about?
Escalating the war with Russia, to the point where we have American citizens (unofficially of course) fighting IN Russia against Russians.
Escalating the conflict(s) in the Middle East, while allowing hundreds of billions to flow into Iran who funds the Hamas, Houthis, Hezbollah, etc.
Setting up a system where we bring in millions of foreigners, with almost no vetting, dropping them in on unsuspecting communities, to the point where some of these smaller towns have their population nearly doubled by migrants.
Trying to mandate that people take vaccines that have potential serious side effects, or lose their jobs.
Trying to mandate that if an insane person decides they are a non-binary or a furry, that you have to participate in their insanity and address them in the way of their choosing or else lose your job.
Legalizing children being mutilated (sex change) and trying to take a parent's right to protect their child away from them.
Making free speech illegal... regulated... making words have as serious a legal ramification as physical assault.
Etc.
Thank you Ken. Eso knows the answers so I adamantly refuse to engage in an argument with him. Eso is just setting the bait & I refuse to participate.
Its at the end... so why not?
The hand off from Biden to Harris has been accepted by half the country...
That is all they need, they know they will never have the majority, they don't need it... if they can keep a solid 33% or more of the people believing and devoted to 'transforming' America... moving to a future unburdened by what has been... they can pretty much do whatever they want, to whoever they want... history has shown this repeatedly.
We didn't escalate the war with Russia, Trump's friend escalated the war with us.
Hamas escalated the war in the Middle East. We are helping Israel make them pay the price for doing so.
We DIDN'T let money flow to Iran. That is just news that was changed into fake news by the right.
The comment about immigration is, of course, total fabrication. Just because you claim it, it is not PROOF of anything.
Mandating vaccines that had next to zero side effects is necessary for public health. Otherwise you get hundreds of thousands to needless deaths like Trump caused.
Very Trumpian of you to call normal people crazy.
Necessary sex change isn't mutilation, it is life saving.
Words can have serious consequences such as Trump's insurrection. Besides, that kind of speech has NEVER been protected by the 1st Amendment.
Please offer REAL PROOF with facts and figures.
A wonderful post....
Proof of where the country is heading... full steam ahead... non-stop...
You are the voice of the 'Progressive' movement as much as anyone.
Yes, he isn't a progressive but a leftist. He is a ride or die one. He is leftist right or wrong. He refuses to see the deleterious effect of leftism. He is beyond liberal. I am a liberal but I am a discerning one. I am not a leftist. I see the wrongs of leftism. Liberals like me believe that each person have rights as long as it doesn't infringe upon others. Leftists, au contraire, are extreme. They refuse to see the wrongs of their ideology. Esoteric refuses to see the wrongs of the ideology. When questioned, he rationalizes the actions of the left although such actions are destructive. I have noticed this about him.
Maybe the first time around.
Now, that's only a reason for an ashamed MAGA, that do not want to acknowledge that their real reason is 1 or 2.
That third choice is because of the first option that Eso listed.
So far, there's a 'not possible' from Cred, and a 'maybe before' from IslandMom, and a 'no way' from you.
I don't have the confidence you guys do. I think it's very probable that Trump will be the 'lesser of two evils' choice for many folks.
GA
Everyone seems to have forgot it is simply deciding if Trump is heads or tails before flipping the quarter.
Sure, because the steady stream of distortions and outright lies about the state of the nation, and the right's complete inability to acknowledge any factors their candidate contributed to that state.
He is the next Hitler... for sure:

A direction more dangerous than Trump's huge Tariffs? 60%? 100%? 200%?
A direction where a candidate puts his political fortunes over asylum law changes that are beyond a necessity?
Or a candidate that says he would put "his moron friends" in charge...
Trump says he’ll put ex-NFL player in charge of US missile shield
Former President Trump told supporters Sunday that he wants to put former NFL player and failed GOP Senate candidate Herschel Walker in charge of a new missile defense shield if elected.
Walker, a staunch ally of Trump, appeared at a rally in Macon, Ga.
Trump, who spoke after Walker, said if elected, he would “build a missile defense shield all made in the USA,” and “put Herschel Walker in charge of that little sucker.”
Trump over the past year has declared that he would create an “Iron Dome” for the United States in a second term, referring to the missile defense system used by Israel.
On Sunday, he said “a lot of” such a system would be built in Georgia.
It is unclear if Trump meant Walker would be in charge of overseeing all U.S. missile defenses or the process of building a new system.
Walker spent 12 seasons in the NFL beginning in the late 1980s before retiring and pursuing business ventures in food processing, with no experience in missile defense or national security.
He eventually made his way to politics and served under Trump as a co-chair of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition from 2019 to 2020. Walker launched his first political campaign in Georgia’s 2022 Senate election, during which he supported finishing Trump’s southern border wall and for Washington to “heavily invest” in the military.
Walker’s campaign, however, was plagued by controversies and baffling and false statements. He mistakenly said there were 52 states, falsely claimed he was once an FBI agent, and lied about graduating from the University of Georgia, when in reality he had left to play professional football and did not complete his degree.
Or a candidate who would put RFK Jr in charge of...HEALTH.
Or a candidate that advocates for abolishing the Department of Education?
What is it that makes them believe such nonsense? Certainly that cannot point to any actions or words that would give that impression. You don't hear them saying they are "going to be a dictator on day one." Only Trump says that.
They can certainly believe lies like that, but that belief is based on the fiction created by Trump.
It's a bit like a sales funnel. You get into it for whatever reason and bit by bit it is harder to pull out without loosing face. Admitting that you are wrong, especially towards yourself, but also towards a community, is a very difficult thing to do.
Otherwise I can't explain why people still vote for this man who is so easy to manipulate, has no diplomatic qualities, will say one day this, the other day that. Has no clue about economics and doesn't have the faintest idea about the computer age and the new AI technologies that will dominate the next years.
It will be an utter economical disaster when he becomes the president. It's not for nothing that the Economist is endorsing Harris. (Even Elon Musk said that Trump will bring an economic crisis, but he thinks it's a good thing. Which of course it is for billionaires as everything will be cheap)
Let alone the fascist and racist tendencies he has.
LOL, Donald Trump seems to be going broke.

The TRUTH about Trump from Bill Clinton.
"He still throws in Arkansas-spun laugh lines, like Donald Trump “spreads blame like a John Deere spreads manure” or a favorite bit he has about how the Republican nominee would take credit for this unseasonably sunny weather in the final campaign stretch but would blame Biden if it rained."
The last one speaks to the Trump supporters on this forum. Very unfair of them.
Another truthful observation from Clinton
"“What has surprised so many people – although I’m sure this happened in the ‘30s throughout Europe, when they were considering things with fascism – a lot of people just can’t believe how many voters in America agree that he doesn’t make sense, agree that he’s advocating things that would be bad, but somehow think that if the experience was good for them back then, it was magically his doing and everything was fine,” Clinton said. “So, I don’t know what’s going to happen.”" - I guess he could have brought up the convicted felon, sexual predator, and 100,000s of unnecessary Covid deaths thing, but maybe didn't want to pile on.
Another thought from Clinton:
"“I think you have to look at what the definition of ‘survive’ is,” Clinton said. “You can put me on a breathing tube tonight, but it wouldn’t be surviving like I’m surviving now. And the same thing’s true in politics. I don’t know if we can survive or not – I think it would be a travesty if he became president again.”" - I hadn't heard it put that way before, but it makes sense. I can't help but think of all those Covid patients on breathing tubes that eventually died, many of them because of Trump's poor policies.
OK, I'll give you the whole thing.

Trump definitely has cognitive problems. If this video doesn't open,
It a recent large venue Trump was at which he said was overflowing with attendees. Maybe it was, if you didn't look to high to see about 30 - 50% of the seats empty, ROFL?

Fir the life of me, why would anybody want such a con man as their leader? He lies to your face and for some reason, you don't care.
Only Trump is the proven con man. Nobody other than MAGA think Biden and Harris are conning them.
tsmog made a post in his Polling forum. It was about the huge disparity in trust in elections.
I was going to post this there, but in the spirit of non-partisanship, I am posting it here.
"And that last quote says it all about Trump.
From at least 2004 to 2008, Republicans were more confident that Democrats in the fairness of elections. The Great Bush Recession changed all that when Ds and Rs equally didn't trust the elections at 57%
From 2008 to 2016, Rs remained at around 57% while Ds jumped to 85%, Then Trump won and now the Republicans trusted elections more, their trust grew to 75%! Ds fell a bit to 69%.
Then came Trump's attack on American democracy and our elector system. While Ds remained in the 80s, the more Trump disparaged our voting system, the more Republicans trust deteriorated. By 2020, it plummeted to 44% and by 2022, it was at 40%,
This is statistical proof of how Trump is destroying our democracy."
With this incredulous story, Senator Tester may have a shot in Montana. It would appear his opponent, Sheehy got caught in a big fat lie. Given the story he tis telling Megan Kelly, he either lied to a park ranger or to his commanding officer when in Afghanistan. Both stories can't be true at the same time.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/mo … &ei=21
Now Demented Trump is saying "he shouldn't have left the White House after losing" and that he "wouldn't mind if someone shot the press" What a weirdo.
It would have been sad for America but still satisfying to have watched Trump being hauled away by his secret service detail.
Now, in the span of a few days, he has given his followers permission to go shoot Liz Cheney and a now the press. I think the press now needs Secret Service protection.
https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/03/politics … index.html
Now Trump says it is OK for kids to get more cavities and die from diseases vaccines protect us from. You would have thought a few hundred thousand unnecessary Covid deaths due to his failed polices would have satisfied him. But no, now he wants thousands more to get sick and die because America isn't vaccinated.
I guess Trump and Musk never studied history and learned how many people died each year from diseases vaccines protect us from. How stupid are they?

Does anyone on the left here actually click in Ken's YouTube opinion links?
Not I. I have found so much on YouTube to fake news or conspiracy theories or edited to distort the truth.
How are you planning on getting away with this Ken? Showing something so vile! Such anguish and hate on display.... This has Third Reich written ALL over it!?!
Thank you, at least someone had the courage to call it for what it is.
Yes, abwilliams is very brave. She surely calls things for what they are. Things which no one should see, remember or revisit.
Things which Trump embodies and represents to this very day.
Kamala Harris may appear to be kind & for the people; however, such is not the case. Here is something for you:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htqiJp79cKs
I should have said YouTube(political) = Fake News or Russian Propaganda
It was an allegory of sorts. When I saw the video, I pictured the rise of the Third Reich under Hitler whom the Germans believed was a godsend now many Americans are totally enthralled by Harris, not knowing WHO they REALLY ARE. Watch it again.
I know my history. Some Germans (they would be called MAGA today) thought Hitler was a godsend. The same thing is behind Trump's success. The rest of the Germans didn't take Hitler seriously.
Americans cannot make the same mistake with Trump today. He is an existential threat to our country.
I KNOW my history also. I majored in history as well as sociology. Outside of this, I have studied history extensively. I am very familiar with the history of the Third Reich. Most Germans were with Hitler either out of agreement or fear of being put into concentration camps. They did take Hitler seriously. Remember, in Nazi Germany, people were watched by neighbors who would report them if they deviated from Nazi policy. Also homes were bugged to ascertain who spoke against Hitler & Nazism. You see I KNOW my history.
No I get it... Harris will not be our Hitler...
Our Mao perhaps... or Stalin... hard to say...
No one, and I mean NO ONE in America will be able to criticize her, the first POC Woman President... are you kidding me?
That will be a career death sentence for putting anything out in the media that is in any way critical or controversial and against Harris.
I can see where this is heading... people who loathe Trump have been raising their red flags in warning, actually campaigning for him even as they say they don't like him... because they know... the alternative is going to be worse, for them, for the country.
Get you popcorn ready... its going to be a wild time ahead.
Not surprisingly, Republicans are out stealing Harris signs at the polling places in my neck of the woods in Florida.
One lady put out a whole bunch of signs along HWY 100 only to find some a-hole ran them all down. Takes after Trump, it seems.
Trump supporter continue to prove by this sort of activity that they ARE garbage. I don't see that sort of behavior from Harris supports, who would want to explain why?
Really? A Harris supporter inserted hate mail into the mailbox of a Trump supporter. C'mon now, talk about DOUBLE STANDARD behavior.
Those who have voted for Trump, are you excited with Trump's statements in terms of putting RFK Jr in charge of health and Herschel Walker in charge of a missile defense system? Are you encouraged by that? Feeling bolstered by the RFK Jr statement that they will that they will remove fluoride from our water on Jan 20th?
Additionally, are you welcoming the higher prices Trump's tariffs will bring?
As I write this, Trump is four electoral votes away from establishing the Fourth Reich.
Credence, I suspect you might be wanting to follow your son to Europe.
Me? As Trump's wrecks America, the markets will fall, if not crash, so I am going to be selling a lot of Puts to hedge against the coming loss for some things or devesting entirely and going to cash in others.
Based on Trump's stated policies, this is what is likely to happen to America:
* The economy will decline as he deports a significant portion of our work force and effectively ends legal immigration.
* Ukraine will fall unless Europe steps in big time to help keep that democracy alive as ours fails.
* Trump's tax plans will bankrupt America as revenues fall driving the national debt to levels we have never seen before.
* Trump's tariff plans will put America at economic war with the rest of the world and drive inflation up beyond what the pandemic did. I wouldn't be surprised that goosed by our inability to meet demand due to deportations and little immigration we might approach the kinds of inflation we saw under Carter and Reagan, or worse.
* If Trump follows through with installing idiots like Musk and RFK Jr. into his cabinet, Americas health and healthcare systems will suffer greatly by the end of four years.
* The liberties of women and minorities will decline. Blacks and Latinos will finally understand why they should have voted for Harris, as discrimination and hate crimes rise on the one hand and the deportations rip families apart.
* Freedom of religion will probably decline because the social conservative Christians will have a promoter.
God must really hate America to have let this happen to us.
America will be the laughingstock of the world for having elected a convicted felon, sexual predator, the most prolific liar in American political history, and the greatest conman in our history as President of the United States.
Such hyperbole. Only thing one has to fear is FEAR itself. FEAR=false evidence appearing real. Have a LOVELY day, Esoteric & Credence. Both your fears are totally unfounded. Embrace the next 4 years.
You wanted a dictator and now you got one. American and the world will suffer your foolishness greatly.
Actually... the foolish weren't favored, not this time!
God Bless America!
A Harris administration for the next four years would have been a complete disaster.
As I said, You wanted a dictator and now you got one.
Americans and the world have suffered immensely in the last 4 years...
You have been in denial of all that...
The Chickens have come home to roost... you reap what you sow...
That is really what this election's results are all about...
The fact that Joe Biden ever ran for president four years ago was a complete aberration. The fact that he ever selected Kamala Harris as his running mate was indicative of his cognitive decline even back then. The majority of Americans weren't going to stand by and watch Kamala Harris take over the Oval Office and run our nation into the ground. The 2024 election results speak for themselves. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have run our nation like a pair of slumlords for the past 4 years. It was time for us to evict them from the White House and give Donald Trump a second term in office.
Not really, Biden repaired the schisms that Trump rent in the world order in his first four years. The world had finally decided to trust America again after Trump destroyed that trust, and now his forces have just destroyed that. It will be a very long time before the world will look kindly on America.
BTW, you will finally get that recession/depression you have been predicting for the last four years. One of two things will kick it off, either his tariffs or his deportations, depending on which happens first.
Those who falsely keep saying the our 2.3% inflation is "astronomical" will finally be telling the truth whenever either one of those events come to pass.
I am ashamed, my patriotism is gone, the America I heralded as an exemplary place in the world simply no longer exists.
It will be a place of internal strife, as we join the ranks of international dictators and tyrants.
My brother went to Spain and in some manner he intuitively saw this coming, just as many Jews saw the writing on the wall before Hitler's brought the hammer down.
I warned my brother in San Diego to expect Trump jackboots to be on hand to squash liberal/progressive dissent. He will shoot people without conscience or reason.
You are way out in the ocean Cred...
The undertow pulled you out there and you are swimming far from shore...
The people Trump surrounded himself with are not like that... RFK Jr.... Elon Musk... Tulsi Gabbard... Vivek Ramaswamy...
They are going to try and make things better for Americans...
I doubt it will be perfect... but I have faith in those he has brought into the fold... relax and give them a chance.
worth repeating:
"... relax and give them a chance."
I would, if I was a Dem!!!
Why not? ... at least wait until there is something concrete in present time to get all pessimistic about!
We relaxed and gave Trump a chance in 2016 and America paid the price. They have already said what they want to do, and it isn't pretty.
I am totally embarrassed for America with this outcome. We just stuck a huge middle finger to the rest of the world.
I am so embarrassed that half of America elected a 34-time convicted felon to be president - that makes him unfit for office by any moral standard.
I am so embarrassed that half of America elected an adjudicated sexual offender to be president - that makes him unfit for office by any moral standard.
I am so embarrassed that half of America elected a adjudicated fraudster to be president - that makes him unfit for office by any moral standard.
I am so embarrassed that half of America elected a man who was indicted for leading an insurrection to overturn an election he lost fair and square but keeps lying that he didn't and is destroying democracy in the process - that makes him unfit for office by any moral standard.
I am so embarrassed that half of America elected a former president who was indicted for stealing classified documents, wouldn't give them back voluntarily, and left them totally unsecured - that makes him unfit for office by any moral standard.
I am so embarrassed that half of America elected a man who has been indicted for interfering with the Georgia election to be president - that makes him unfit for office by any moral standard.
Regardless of whether his previous policies were good or not (which arguably is that in the main, they were not) it says a lot about the lack of moral character of the people who elected him into office again to finish the destruction of America that he started eight years ago to ignore the evil this man represents.
It was basically the old white men who chose Trump above Harris.....
Aren't you also a little embarrassed that you couldn't find a candidate to beat the evil orange man?
The worst of the other side beats the best of your side. That seems a bit embarrassing.
GA
I would feel embarrassed by the mockery my Party made of the DOJ and FBI... using them to cover up the crimes of people like Hunter Biden and Hillary Clinton... while finding ways to bypass Statute of Limitations and convict a person of a crime, that was not a felony, but somehow they made it a felony based on another crime they never convicted him with...
If I were a Democrat that is...
I wouldn't keep harping on the fact that he is a convicted felon when those convictions were going to be overturned due to the mockery of justice that they were.
I would also be ashamed that my Party knowingly put up a candidate they new had the onset of Dementia prior to his even running... and they spent 4 years hiding it, saying what everyone in the world saw wasn't really happening... elder abuse... greed for power... a 1st lady more worried about the galas and attention she got than the state of the nation... and a VP that over the course of 4 years proved woefully inadequate on the world stage, time after time while doing the duties of the VP she came across as clueless and un-informed of the issues she was supposedly there to address.
But to be a Democrat these days is to be out of touch with the real world... either because you have so much money that a 25% hike across the board in prices doesn't impact you... or because you suffer from the "woke mind virus"... an ideology that does not allow one to question, merely follow.
LOL do you feel that Trump Will survive the same scrutiny as Biden in terms of his mental acuity? His every word and movement will be under a microscope, just as Biden's was.
Americans from both sides of the political spectrum should be alarmed by Trump’s words and behavior. The nation must confront the fact that beyond his hateful character, he is crippled cognitively and showing clear signs of mental illness.
There’s no need to resort to armchair psychology to interpret what’s apparent. Trump will be the oldest president ever inaugurated. In recent weeks, he has canceled an increasing number of public appearances, with his own campaign citing the candidate’s exhaustion. It's easy to imagine what a diminished, ragged figure he will be in 4 years. When he does appear publicly, Trump struggles to complete sentences or sustain coherent thoughts, and has shown a pronounced difficulty concentrating and a tendency to repeat himself, sometimes within the same sentence.
He dodders about aimlessly, slurs his words and sometimes speaks gibberish. Always an effortless liar, now that his speeches are nothing more than a series of lies tangled in a mass inside his head, it appears he no longer even knows he’s lying.
And folks are going to try to say that we're not seeing the onset of dementia with Trump?
How current supporters don't care. He could be as dumb as a rock and they wouldn't care. They will only begin caring when he starts causing the financial pain - which he eventually will.
No embarrassment there since it didn't happen.
What IS GOING to happen, however, is Trump will appoint an abject loyalist as attorney general (say Paxton from TX) who will do exactly has Trump wants. For the next four years, the only that thing what will save us from the fate the Russian people endure is our Courts. They aren't in his pockets - yet.
I don't know what you're asking, but it wasn't edited.
But . . . maybe it could use an edit, maybe this would be better:
Instead of not beating the "evil orange man," they couldn't beat the ". . . convicted felon, sexual predator, the most prolific liar in American political history, and the greatest conman in our history, evil orange man put up by the other side.
A majority side that you say is stupid, over half the country so stupid they can't see the dangers you do? That's what is embarrassing. If you're (generic) so smart why couldn't you convince the stupid people?
GA

Do you think Esoteric will see your new edit to him?
Are you saying that people who don't believe the science about climate change aren't stupid?
Stupid -
Slow to learn or understand; obtuse.
Tending to make poor decisions or careless mistakes.
Have you never used a phrase such as "He made a stupid mistake" or something like it?
Nope, Harris is a good person, articulate, and honest who had a great vision for our nation.
What is embarrassing is that half the country apparently wants a convicted felon, sexual predator, the most prolific liar in American political history, and the greatest conman in our history to lead them into oblivion.
We showed them his evil, hell, HE showed them his evil, for which he seems to be proud. How does the saying go? You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink it. In this case, you can show people the truth, but if they find dishonesty more appealing, you won't change their minds.
It will take the disaster that is to come to do that as they get buried in recessions and inflation.
I guess I could say that Trump was right about one thing, the election was rigged in his favor. But I won't because I don't want to a liar like him.
ESO, Excuse the bits of foul language but the article reflects the views of many of us.

Here is a through CNN exit poll with all kinds of statistics. The female of the Caucasian persuasion let me down, in spite of every outrage against them in the last 3 years;, they still voted for Trump. I guess White will always be Right in the final analysis.
https://www.cnn.com/election/2024/exit- … resident/0
My dear Credence, it isn't about race at all. It is about social & economic policies. I voted for Trump based upon issues of (1) the tsumanic influx of illegal immigrants, (2) the need to restore law & order to our cities, & (3) the stop to the escalating inflation. People don't care about the racial or gender of the president, they care about THE TYPE of social & economic policies that president will implement.
Really?
In America, its always about race and as a “black person” you should know that already.
Yes, I am a Black woman & a dark-skinned Black woman at that. However, I refuse to use race as an excuse. I WON'T.
Let's see "restore law and order in our cities". Which country do you live in because you aren't talking about America where most crime is down almost everywhere (That said, I think car thefts are up.)
Not true - what is said is that violent crime is down, leaving non-violent crime (theft, car jacking, while collar crimes, fraud, etc.) to rise. Certainly cyber crime is on the rise; we are ALL getting more fraudulent emails.
But saying violent crime is down does not mean it is. Could be that it is not being reported. Could be that criminals are not being caught or not prosecuted when caught. Could be that plea bargains are being offered to reduce it to something non-violent.
None of which would be surprising in large liberal cities - all of those are the type of things liberals think will help their cities. Criminals are not, after all, responsible for their actions - that falls on their parents, their siblings, their neighbors or school or even society in general.
Or it could be because we don't have the prison cells to hold them - I know some places have released criminals early because of that.
Besides your learned opinion, how do you actually know any of this?
He doesn't, because he lives in the world of "could be". Like, it Could Be Trump is a murderer and we just don't know it yet.
But Trump only cares about violent crime. And given Trump's proclivities, I am not surprised fraud is up.
BTW, do you check your facts before making such unsupported claims, or do you just "hope" you are right.
But, since you obviously didn't, I did. According to the FBI:
Larceny: DOWN 4.4%
Burglary: DOWN 7.6%
Property Crimes (which includes fraud): DOWN 13.1%
I already said car theft was up.
Since she was referring to "law and order in our cities", I doubt that is referring to non-violent crime in any case.
And it "COULD BE" that that the earth will explode tomorrow. :"Could Be" has no meaning, only data does in this context and the data doesn't point to the earth exploding.
Wilderness, there is absolutely NO USE to trying to convince Eso. As my late father stated, there are people who are hard to learn.
Oh, I know. But I feel sorry for those with TDS - it's a rather nasty disease that has ruined many lives and will ruin more before it runs its course.
I KNOW. TDS has resurged. It is SOOO FUN watching them TOTALLY LOSE IT. I am eating my steak and salad as I watch them totally freak out. It is a laugh a minute.
Well, I have to agree that I get a giggle from some of them. Probably wrong of me to laugh at their unfortunate disease, but there you have it. I laugh anyway.
Enjoy your fantasy life along with your steak while Trump brings America to its knees.
Others might try to bring America to its knees, but apparently America is standing quite strong. I also think it is destined to stand strong.
I thank people like gmwilliams who shares, so strongly and eloquently, her message of personal strength, responsibility and determination to succeed and find happiness, not from hand outs and government assistance, but from one's own joy of life in fulfilling hopes, dreams and ambitions. She urges us to tap into ourselves more than government.
That's a message worth listing to and the conclusion everyone will eventually, (some quicker than others,) come to.
Yes, it is standing quite strong right now because Biden and Harris repaired most of the damage Trump caused the first time around. But now that Trump has learned how to do it, this convicted criminal and sexual predator will probably succeed destroying us in the next four years.
For sure we will have much higher inflation and probably a sizable recession. All those terrible things Ken said would happen under Biden and DIDN'T, but will under Trump.
Other than the fact that we are living with a 'Weekend at Bernie's' for President...
We are in a world war... you know... Russia, Iran, North Korea... the multi-continent conflict we are knees deep in...
Or the 25% total inflation... aka price increase.... across the board that Americans were told to choke on...
Yeah... nothing bad happened under Biden at all...
Tell me what the 80-year-old Trump's plan is to reduce my grocery bill on day one? And no Ken we are not in a World war.
25% inflation lol? Would you like to provide some sort of backup on that?
June 14, 1946 is Trump's birthday. He is not 80. He is 78. He has more energy than most forty year olds. Why don't you cut him some slack and just wait until something concrete happens. Why don't you just sit still and contemplate the greatness of Trump's existence. He wants to help us.
He is already working to save us from the disastrous effects of Biden's four years in office.
Be Thankful. Be happy. Stay positive.
I say.
Picky, picky, he will be 80 while in office, in fact he will be 82.
I must agree about his energy however. But that doesn't say anything about his inability to string two sentences together and other obvious signs of dementia.
Do you mean he is going to increase inflation about the current 2.4%? Or is he going to kill the steady, long lasting GDP growth Biden has established, or will he drive the record breaking stock prices down? If so, I agree with you.
OMG...
"we are not in a World war."
Perhaps you should take a moment to review the current conflicts across multiple continents and who is backing them.
Ignorance is not bliss when you choose to comment in the forums...
Its OK not to know... its OK to say I have NO IDEA what you are talking about, that foreign affairs and military conflicts is not my expertise.
That can be an acceptable position to take...
But don't tell me "we are not in a world war"...
Anyone who has been perusing these political forums for the past few years knows I deep dive into such topics as the Ukraine war.
AND
I am so glad you find 25% overall inflation funny... most Americans didn't... and still don't... and voted their feelings on the matter.
"But don't tell me "we are not in a world war".
Especially don't tell it to the Ukrainian troops, who are at this very moment, battling the North Korean army in addition to the battered russian troops.
But Ken says we started that war, lol. Putin had nothing to do with it.
But, I am sure he will be happy when Trump hands over the keys Kiev to Putin.
One thing you forgot to address... What is Trump's plan to reduce my grocery bill? I have listened to you folks incessantly complain about the cost of food and now that Trump has been elected, that complaint seems to have completely disappeared.
We've discussed this in the past, it all starts with investing in America once again.
How does that lower my bread cost? Specifically. He has promised lower food costs "very quickly".
If you wish grocery stores were more expensive and offered less variety, then you’ll love his tariff proposal.
Trump is WORKING on it, it takes TIME to repair the damage that Biddy did.
Oh absolutely not. He has promised everything "very quickly". Covid impacted grocery prices by the way. But I think many of us will be tracking grocery prices on day one of Trump's administration. "Promises made, promises kept". right? Like his promise to cut my energy cost by 50%? Oh yeah the clock is ticking on that one too.
His ego and inability to close his big mouth have lead him to make a multitude of promises that he will not even be able to approach keeping.
He will be held to the exact same ridiculous standards that maga held Biden to.
I find it very odd that maga is able to give Trump the grace of time but was never able to do so for Biden. He was expected to turn the world's largest economy on a dime. The expectation was that everything would happen immediately. Instant results, instant gratification... Now you ask us to give Trump time? Lol oh hell nooooo.
Maga has lost the ability to use the. " Give it time" argument on anything
I suspect grocery prices will remain constant - for a while.
BUT, when the deportations of workers kicks in or his tariffs kick in or maybe his tax giveaways to the rich start up, things WILL change, assuming he implements them as advertised. People will then begin look at the Biden years as the "good ol' days".
But when did Trump do that the first time? He only tore us down. Don't bother mention his tax giveaway to the rich, that did NOT result in more investment in America.
Here are the bullet points from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities:
1. Was skewed to the rich
2. Was expensive and eroded the U.S. revenue base
3. Failed to deliver promised economic benefits. (which includes investment in America)
https://www.cbpp.org/research/federal-t … to-deliver
So much for the Myth that Trump was good for the American economy.
I see you didn't provide the back up she asked for. That says a lot about the veracity of your claims.
Another wonderful gift from the Biden era of economic and foreign relations disaster brought to us in the last 4 years:
The Most Violent Gang is Spreading Across America
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUNJccBHK9E
I saw this; however, the ride or die Bidensters refuse to acknowledge this. They live in Fantasyland. We who live in the real world, know how perilous crime is in the cities. I used to go to Pio Pio in Clinton a/ k/a Hell's Kitchen in NYC; however, now with the influx of dangerous gangs due to the influx of illegals in the Times Square era, I avoid the area like the plaque. This is one of the reasons I voted for Trump-the escalating crime.
YouTube again with its edited and manipulated message. Please provide hard evidence like I do.
He added 8% in 2022 to 5% in 2023 to get to 25% (yes, I know, it only totals 13%) before inflation returned to below average.
To keep things in perspective -
I wonder if Ken knows that the combined 13% is less than the single year inflation in 1917, 1918, 1979, 1980.
I wonder if Ken knows that the 2022 inflation of 8% was smaller than equivalent inflation in 1917 - 1920; 1942, 1946, 1947, 1978 - 1981. All but three of those years was in double digits!
We were in a world war ... you know ... Russia, Iran, North Korea ,,, the multi-continent conflict we are knees deep in... UNDER TRUMP (and Obama and Bush and Clinton and Bush and Reagan and Carter and Ford and Nixon etc.)
Uhhh... no.
Trump had strangled Iran, it was on its knees gasping its last breath...
And then Biden got in, and on day one opened the floodgates so hundreds of billions could go pouring in to Iran...
Those billions fund the Houthis, Hamas, Hezbollah, and others...
The Biden Admin sent billions directly to some of those terrorists as well...
The Biden Admin cranked up the war against Russia right on its border, sending tanks, missiles, jets, money... lots of money... all the intel they use to fight the war, plenty of "trainers" as well...
Escalating that war, and America's involvement in it, to the point where other nations are now stepping in and helping Russia with their fight...
But I know... none of that is what has occurred in your version of the past 4 years.
Ken, THEY'RE back yet again. Welcome THE CHOIRBOYS.
Hardly, but prove it, be specific. Otherwise you aren't believable.
So you're God now. There is more than one viewpoint. Ken proved Biden's disasters. Oh no, you refuse to acknowledge it at all. You believed your party to the detriment of the American people. That is why Harris was voted OUT. Now, you are discombobulating. GOOD. Another one freaking out at the presidential results. I am laughing at this. This is pure drama. When will you accept DEFEAT? No matter how you rant & rave, Trump IS THE PRESIDENT. TRUMP IS THE PRESIDENT.
~ what a great word.
discombobulating
Some are discombulators.
Luckily, just those with cameras in front of them or platforms of some type. Most people are now very happily living their best lives. There is a pervasive and powerful sense of relief and a renewed sense that GOD is on OUR side.
Thank you, freedom fighters. You did GOOD!
WE DID GOOD!
Don't let the bums get you down!" as my mother used to say.
Kath, THEY are the ones who are FALLING APART. They are LOSING IT BIG TIME. They are the ones who are MISERABLE. They aren't HAPPY AT ALL. What DO THEY FEAR????
A very interesting and compressive article, thought that you might want to have a look.
https://www.salon.com/2024/11/09/six-bi … t-america/
There were several interesting quotes in that article but this stuck out because it reminds me very much of the other side on this and other forums.
"Trump was saying, in effect: The hate you saw was really love, and if you can’t see that, you’re the hateful one. It’s the kind of upside-down logic commonly found in abusive relationships, whenever the abuser is challenged. "
You see that in spades from MAGA.
Ad infinitum, NO ONE IS LISTENING. Stop whining.
Obviously, you have been listening otherwise you would not have posted a reply.
I continue to write because I never know who will compose my audience.
"Were gonna keep on a walking, keep on a talkin till we reach the freedom land"
For 4 years, every step Biden took, every sound he uttered, every policy put forward, every decision was under their high power microscope. And now they don't want to discuss any of Trump's policy agenda or promises. And now? They basically tell us to shut up. I'm with you, nothing is going to silence me or suppress strict scrutiny of all things Trump.
Yeah, Willow, Trump doesn't have any policy plans. They expected a dissertation on the fine points of Quantum Mechanics from Harris while "Trump will fix it" sufficed when he was asked about credible solutions to our economic problems. What was it he said about Obamacare? He and the GOP wanted to eliminate it and replace it with something so much better. I haven't seen anything.
Yes, indeed, we are tag team champions!
You are living in the freedom land... because enough Americans realized what was up, and that they were going to try and take it away.
It was John Kerry and Tim Walz who were talking about the 1st amendment being a problem, that something was going to have to be done about it.
It was Biden who repeatedly got up in front of America, during address the nation and state of the nation speeches and said the threat to Democracy was 75+ million Americans that supported Trump.
The people on the left that still support the Bizzaro world created by the Democrats in DC and media like MSNBC is growing SMALLER all the time... and as your side continues to double down on the very rhetoric and views you still hold... you will lose more support...
This is the pendulum swinging in the other direction... but its not at the pinnacle of the swing... how far it still has to go will depend on how soon the Democrat Party begins reflecting the wants and needs of the Majority of the American Citizens that vote.
What the Democrats gave us the last 4 years is not what America wants...
Clearly evident to those even moderately objective.
Here is a collage of young folks explaining it well:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdGvHf0V4jQ
"It was Biden who repeatedly got up in front of America, during address the nation and state of the nation speeches and said the threat to Democracy was 75+ million Americans that supported Trump."
And 81 million people cast a vote for the Democrat, Joe Biden in 2020... And what have we been called since that time? Lunatics, evil, the devil, vermin, the enemies within... How should I feel right about now?
Now calm down, calm down. Momma is going to give you a......NICE BIG HUG. Feel better now.
We have voted for freedom. We are currently safe from totalitarianism.
Until Trump assumes the office, that is. Then totalitarianism will almost be guaranteed.
Thank you for finally agreeing that Biden has built a strong economy out of the ashes Trump left it in.
Since you falsely try to pin inflation on Biden, please don't excuse Trump's performance on the pandemic.
I think we will have steak and lobster tail tonight, and one or two margaritas, as we toast America getting it right! God Bless America land that I love!
~ yep! hilarious!!! Its also really maddening/saddening.
But, at least we know who to avoid. Once, in the bank a lady next to me in line started being all pessimistic and accusational about Trump. I drew down an imaginary blind with my arm and ignored her. Felt just fine to be rude back.
I pay attention and base my opinion on facts. Since your side rarely, if ever, back up their hyperbole with facts, I am guessing your side doesn't believe in facts.
This is your "ESCALATING" inflation you are so afraid of and that informed your vote:.
2022 - 8.0% (due to pandemic)
2023 - 4.1%
2024 - 2.4%
When I went to school, they were teaching me that "Escalating" meant the numbers were getting bigger over time, not smaller like these are. Maybe they changed what they are teaching.
2022 - 8.0% (due to over reaction to pandemic, shutting down millions of jobs while giving out trillions of dollars, often to those still working. Followed by opening jobs back up...then paying people NOT to work.)
Yep, Trump definitely should NOT have paid people not to work. (Before you say that he didn't, what do you think the Three Trillion dollar giveaway of his partly went to?)
AND clearly, it would have been preferable to force factories to stay open and have three million dead from Covid rather than the one million we did (round numbers) of which probably 800,000 were needless deaths that resulted from Trump's policies or lack thereof.
But, at least you now agree that Biden isn't responsible for inflation. Thank you for that.
I really love how you "estimate" COVID deaths (you forgot to mention that Trump was responsible for all million deaths).
I also love how you set aside months and months of Biden paying people more to stay home, after jobs reopened (could not have been Trump as he was long gone), than they could earn working.
But yes, that's part of the President's job - to balance COVID response with potential deaths. Harm from the response vs harm from the disease.
And Biden failed miserably at it.
I guess you didn't read what I wrote or purposefully left out words again. I attributed, based on his own Covid staff, about 40% (as of early 2021) of those deaths to the felon's failed policies. Just to help you with syntax: "Some" or "most" or "majority" or similar adjectives do not equal "all" as you apparently think.
https://www.vice.com/en/article/heres-h … -response/
I would give you the [i]Lancet{/i] link but you would have to register for the paper. I'll provide excerpts in another post.
Biden saved a whole lot of lives, Trump was responsible for hundreds of thousands of needless deaths.
This is what Trump did and didn't do that cost lots of lives and makes him responsible. From the Lancet paper:
• In 2017 the Trump administration halted the nearly completed effort by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to develop airborne infection control standards for workplaces to be issued in October 2017.21
In 2018, the Trump administration transferred the already partially depleted Strategic National Stockpile of drugs and medical supplies from the CDC to the Office of an Assistant Secretary in the Department of Health and Human Services.17
In 2018 the White House eliminated the National Security Council Directorate for Global Health Security and Biodefense, which had been created in 2014 to coordinate responses to Ebola virus and other global disasters. Moreover, nearly half of all scientific leadership positions in federal agencies were vacant by 2019.18
Access to medical care, never fully adequate in the USA, contracted further during the Trump administration. One million health-care workers and many immigrant workers at high risk of coronavirus exposure were uninsured at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in February, 2020.19
Inadequately coordinated federal leadership resulted in delayed or inconsistent guidelines for state and local action.
• Reliance on market forces to supply equipment for preventing and treating COVID-19 left states and hospitals to compete with one another, and sometimes with the federal government itself, to buy personal protective equipment and ventilators.
• The Trump administration rejected WHO testing kits while waiting for US tests to be produced, which impeded testing. Other bottlenecks (eg, insufficient capacity to administer and analyse diagnostic tests) further slowed the response.
• Public health authorities were discredited by senior administration officials, which led to disregard for scientific expertise, misleading public communication, official (ie, President Trump and the US Food and Drug Administration) endorsement of therapies without evidence of efficacy, promotion of unproven theories about COVID-19, and President Trump's refusal to wear a mask, practise physical distancing, or avoid mass meetings.
• In an unprecedented expression of distrust, many states did not follow CDC's recommendations and instead joined multi-state coalitions to make policy for reopening the economy and schools.
• Many people lost their health coverage because of pandemic-related job losses.
ChatGPT, researching sites like the CDC, says this.Estimating "needless" COVID-19 deaths is complex, but researchers have suggested that a significant portion of U.S. COVID-19 deaths could have been prevented. Studies estimate that as many as 400,000 lives may have been saved if vaccine uptake had been higher, particularly during the delta and omicron waves when vaccines were widely available and effective at reducing severe cases and fatalities. Additional preventable deaths are attributed to delays in public health responses, like mask-wearing, social distancing, and early testing initiatives.
Remember that even though Trump did the right thing in pushing Warp Speed, he did the wrong thing in supporting the antivaxers.
That's what I said; you "attributed", but without any form of logical reasoning, facts or even imaginary rules.
Comes down to "Because I said so, that's why", doesn't it?
No, you are speaking about yourself, I think. I present evidence. Here is some more you won't read.
Birx recalls 'very difficult' call with Trump, says hundreds of thousands of Covid deaths were preventable
"I look at it this way: The first time, we have an excuse," Birx said about the initial surge of deaths. "All of the rest of them, in my mind, could have been mitigated or decreased substantially."
Dr. Birx, Trump's HAND-PICKED Covid Czar, said that before the Lancet article proving there massive amounts of needless Covid deaths caused by Trump.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald … d-n1262283
Sooner or later I hope you get your facts correct.
Since the Biden policies were virtually identical to Trump's policies (minus the inhumane parts), apparently Trump's policies were responsible for the huge influx, don't you agree?
The reality is it wasn't the Trump-Biden policies at all. Most of the influx was due to built up pressure that resulted when the border was shut down due Covid.
Further, your tsunami adjective is a lot hyperbolic. Here is why I say that:
It seems logical that a president, except in rare circumstances can impact anything until a few months after taking office. say May.
Assuming that is true, then anything Biden did regarding the border (and he did very little initially, just kept most of Trump's border policies in place) wouldn't be seen until at least May 2021. So, let's look at the number of encounters according to CBP:
Dec 2020: 73,966 (Trump policies)
Jan 2021: 75,317 (Trump policies)
Feb 2021: 101,098 (Trump policies)
Mar 2021: 173,277 (Trump/Biden policies)
April 2021: 178,795 (Trump/Biden policies)
May 2021: 180,597 (Biden, which are Trump policies)
And that is roughly where it stayed until Jun 2024, when it dropped to 90,704 and gotten lower from there.
So, can you explain why Trump's policies failed at the beginning of 2021? Why his policies were responsible for a tsunami of border encounters?
That is true, but she lost in all demographics except Black women. The biggest was with Latino men.
They will pay the price though.
The first thing on the chopping block it appears is the world. Trump just stated he is going to once again threaten death and destruction in America and around the world by pulling out of climate agreements which will guarantee the worst possible outcome for the climate crisis.
2024 will go down as the hottest year in recorded history and is the first year to bust through the 1.5 degree C limit after which catastrophe's start piling up on each other. This follows a record year in 2023.
Since some people in this forum don't read real news they may have missed the many of the deadliest wild fires, droughts, hurricanes, and heat occurred just in America in 2024. That was amplified across the world.
Maybe this will break through the propaganda induced fog in so many conservative minds.
2005 was the first record breaking year this century and 12th hottest this century.
Five years later it was 2010 which was 11th hottest this century
Four years after that it was 2014 which was 10th hottest this century
Then 2015 which was 5th hottest this century
Then 2016 which was tied for 3rd hottest this century
2017 ranked in the top three in 2017 which was 8th hottest this century
2018 ranked 4th hottest at that time which was 9th hottest this century
2019 ranked 2nd hottest at that time which was 6th hottest this century
2020 tied with 2016 as the hottest year on record which was tied for 3rd hottest this century
2021 ranked 6th hottest at that time which was 7th hottest this century
2022 ranked 5th hottest at that time which was 4th hottest this century
2023 ranked 2nd hottest this century
2024 will be the hottest in recorded history.
Unless a person has their head stuck deep into the sand, one can only conclude that things are getting much worse much quicker.
Further, the science is indisputable that this is because humans are putting too much heat trapping gases into our air and thereby poisoning the blood of the world. IT IS THIS that Trump will perpetuate now that he will be President.
He IS going to cost YOU billions and billions of dollars repairing/preventing the damage that will be caused by his and other climate deniers abject stupidity.
This is just the beginning of the bad news from America's dumb decision.
Goldman-Sachs CUTS Europe's Growth Estimates because of Trump's elections. If they are right, that is another indicator of recession in America.
https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/07/economy/ … index.html
To My Esoteric & Credence2, peace to you. You WILL SURVIVE this.
Everything is going to be alright, now.
I don't think the polls got it wrong, they called it even. Where I think things went wrong for the Ds is not understanding or believing what the demographics were telling them.
They counted on, just as I did, that character matters. Well, to half the country, it does not. He could have gone and shot Nancy Pelosi in the head on the House floor and they would have still voted for him, that is how bad it is.
I'll go further and say he could do that in 2025 and he wouldn't even be impeached let alone convicted. He would also not face criminal action because 1) he is the sitting president and 2) he can count on the Supreme Court saying that was within his official duties.
On January 20, America will have its first King and Dictator who is protected from all accountability.
This is how to get your "Get Out Of Jail Free" card. Become President of the United States like Trump did. There is something terribly wrong with that.
Here is what your Felon and Sexual Predator has in mind for you and America. Remember these are things he has said out loud to you.
1. Returning the civil service back to the 1800s when gov't jobs were rewards for loyalty. GS-1s through GS-9s are probably safe from his retribution. GS-10 through GS-12 probably are not safe from his revenge tour. GS-14s and 15s who don't sign a loyalty oath will most likely be fired.
2. Biden unweaponized the DOJ by putting a softy in as AG; Garland has a heavy hand in Trump being president today. Has Ellie Honig, a long time successful prosecutor of mob bosses, said something like that "while Garland played by the Marquis de Queensberry rules, Trump played by gutter mob-boss rules". Now, Trump will complete the weaponization he started in 2018. He will appoint an AG who has the same lack of moral standards as he has and will do nothing without Trump's approval. You can kiss the FBI director goodbye and watch a new J. Edgar Hoover-type be installed.
3. He wants to spend $12,000 times 20 million or $240 Billion to ship 5 - 10% of our workforce out of the country. This will skyrocket inflation and probably cause a severe recession.
4. He says he is going to place a 60% tariff on anything imported into the US from China and a 10% tariff on everybody else, friend and foe alike. That will mean retaliatory tariffs by all other nations. Several results will come from this stupidity. It will be much harder to find affordable products in the U.S. Even if we start making them here, the COST TO THE CONSUMER will be much higher. If the importers pass this tax on to consumers, that means inflation is back big time. Also driving up inflation will be the decrease in supply as we stop importing things. Those things combined will probably drive a recession as well in addition to deporting our workforce.
5. Being born in America will not mean you are a citizen any more under the serial liar named Trump
6. He wants football player Herschel Walker to build a new Star Wars missile defense system
7. He wants to an anti-vaxer and pro-tooth decay nut job in charge of America's health
8. He will probably put Elon Musk in charge of downsizing America and end many things Americans take for granted into terms of services. He will probably outsource those at a much higher cost to YOU.
9.He likes "wild" things like insurrections and now weather has he seeks to undo any gains made toward mitigating the impact of climate change. That is already costing Americans and estimated $150 Billion annually and will only grow geometrically.

How terribly sad for America is it that our military leaders are now forced to discuss what to do when (not if, IMO) Trump issues them illegal orders as he has threatened to do.
https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/08/politics … index.html
I think it is honest to say that the TRUE "Enemy From Within" is Donald Trump.
Well, I guess I am going to have to eat crow. Because of who Trump is, a sexual predator, convicted felon, a dangerous liar, a hate mongerer, etc., I assumed his voting base would continue to decrease, not increase. My assumption was based on my belief that people in general are somewhat virtuous and would be turned off by such behavior.
Well, at least according to a CNN exit poll, I was very wrong, new voters are embracing that kind of despicable behavior as indicated by Trump winning first time voters by a whopping 13 points. I apparently was lulled into my favorable view of human nature by the fact that Biden had a 32 point advantage in 2016.
I also want to say before I forget again that Trump made one of his rare good decisions the other day by picking Susie Wiles to be his chief of staff. I don't see her staying around long though since her job will be trying to tamp down Trump's baser instincts rather than manage a campaign.
When the news was announced, one quote given to CNN’s Steve Cotorno stood out: “The clown car can’t come into the White House at will".
If Susie Wiles can 'keep the clown car people out of the Oval Office' she will be an absolute hero," Tom Giovanetti, president of The Institute for Policy Innovation, wrote on X..
I don't think she'll last.

I never went In for the brain washing rather than to acknowledge that a large portion of the American public are simply resentful and malevolent creatures, under the skin. The choices last November 5 were quite stark and clear in an unprecedented way. America chose the low road. So much for the idea or virtue and common sense.
All the economic anxiety that they feign was the driver for how they actually voted was just a red herring diversion. Because Trump really did not do anything in his first term either.
Yep, they had a choice between a mob boss and an effective leader. They chose the mob boss.
Speaking of Mob Bosses: Ellie Honig wrote a book about Trump called Untouchable. He is a former prosecutor of mobsters and mob bosses in SDNY for a bunch of years. The book first covers why it is so hard to prosecute mob bosses. He then compares those characteristics to how Trump has gotten away with his crimes. Although he didn't know it at the time he wrote it, he puts a lot of the blame for Trump's win on Merrick Garland and his lack of will.
One thing that sticks out is that he sees that the ONLY difference between what he has observed with mob bosses and Trump is that Trump hasn't ordered a hit on anybody - that we know of.
Children, admit YOUR SIDE LOST. That is what mature people do. Accept your loss & MOVE ON. This ad infinitum rant is getting TIRED. Your side lost. Trump is the winner. Just move on & LIVE your life. Good bye, boys.
Again, Trump will fix it? He also promised a resolution to the Ukraine crisis in a day. He is not getting any time since he himself said that he did not need it. I am going to be all over this excuse for a man like white on rice.
This forum has devolved into a lot of nonsense. More juvenile name calling than policy discussion. A lot of snark and sarcasm, not much substance.
There's more substance than some could possibly detect.
Amen and hear, hear; substance on Steroids! Sure beats B.S. on Steroids!! I am still on Cloud Nine!

We are free from a porous, uncontrolled border. We will soon have border agents empowered to do their jobs. Our country will be free of the rapes, abuse and drug marketing the illegal immigrants are capable of.
Same with police who have been prevented from keeping our citizens, streets and shops/markets/stores safe.
"In 2014, as Attorney General, Kamala Harris was one of the leading champions of Prop 47 — which eliminated the ability of police and prosecutors to arrest and punish criminals in California for countless crimes."

Causing the weakness/powerlessness of our border agents and policemen was a crime. Joe should have been impeached for it. Kamala was rejected by the voters for good reason. Both of these politicians went against our constitution: Article 4 Section 4.
It will never happen again. The deed has been done and the results were seen clearly.
We found out.
Constitution of the United States
Article IV Section 4
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.
Why do you keep blaming Trump policies for what you falsely call an open border?
The convicted felon and sexual predator who is now our president-elect has already jeopardized American National Security. Isn't that AMAZING? Not, it is expected.
It seems Trump signed a law in 2020 called the Presidential Transition Act. I am really surprised he signed it because it contains a requirement that anybody transitioning into a new administration must sign two agreements before they are allowed help from the GSA and in getting access to the classified information necessary to keep this country safe during the transition.
There is one major roadblock. They both require the person signing them to agree to abide by certain ethical standards and to have no conflicts of interest.. Trump and his people are refusing to sign them because of those requirements. Why? Because at least Trump knows that he will be in violation of both provisions given he has no moral compass and no ethics (a fact that is evident to everybody and his convictions prove) and that it is impossible for him not to have very serious conflicts of interest (which everybody also knows).
As I said, his criminal convictions for what amounts to election interference and his civil convictions for defamation, sexual abuse, and bank fraud (not to mention is many indictments for one crime or another) speak loudly to his lack of ethics and moral character. In addition, he has already proven in his first term that he is very willing to take in foreign money through his various business enterprises.
For example, it will be very, very easy for Saudi Arabia to funnel tens of millions of dollars into his pockets in order to buy influence by, for example, holding golf tournaments at his various properties using the PGA/Saudi controlled LIV organization. Or, another example is, the Saudi's purchase millions of dollars worth of ads on Trump owned Truth Social. Trump's kids are going to make out like bandits again as well.
Either way you look at it, that will be either extortion or bribery. But that is OK. Since the Conservatives on the Supreme Court made him King with virtually no way to hold his conduct accountable, Trump can do damn well what he pleases and not pay the price during or after his term in office. Ain't America Great?
The damage may have already been done given that the deadline for the GSA agreement was Sept 1, which Trump ignored, and for the classified in/tel, it was Oct 1, which Trump also ignored. Assuming he gives in and does sign the two documents, it will take time to run all the vetting necessary before his staff can access the information they need to protect America.
And it is not like this hasn't happened before, with horrible consequences.. In 2000, when the Supreme Court had to step in and declare Bush the winner, the transition was slowed down considerably. This led to Bush's team not being ready when he was inaugurated. That lack of preparedness, according to the 9/11 Commission report was one of the factors that allowed the attack on the twin towers.
https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/09/politics … index.html
Speaking of extortion, Trump recently said that for America to protect Taiwan, they will have to cough up lots of money, even though protecting them is to America's benefit. What a great guy, don't you think?
With any luck this "4B" movement will take hold in America. This movement started in South Korea in reaction to male making women subservient in that society. What is "4B" you ask? It is a movement where women basically swear off men. They won't marry them, have sex with them, date them, or have children with them. These women are sick and tired of having men tell them how to run their lives.
To understand this, we need a little history.
Fast forward to America. Like with Blacks, America has a very long history of keeping women subservient - for as long as America has been around. Only in the PROGRESSIVE State of New Jersey were women allowed to own property (if they were single), divorce, and vote. That disappeared in 1807 due to what would be called Conservatives today led revolt claiming there were voter fraud issues and the fear women were being manipulated.
Over the next 200 years, women fought for (with the help of some liberal oriented men) and gained basic human rights. That culminated in 1964 *civil rights), 1965 (voting rights), and 1973 (right to privacy and controlling their own bodies).
Ever since those decisions social Conservatives have campaigned to take those rights away, slowly chipping away at things like protection from abusive husbands and the right to sue for discrimination in federal courts. The straw, as it were, that set off this movement was when social Conservatives finally got their way with the Dobbs decision which put control over women's bodies back in the hands of Conservative legislators (ironically, many of them women).
And women in America have a bleak future given that the three liberal justices on the Court are old so Trump will probably have the opportunity to appoint even more young, socially Conservative Justices to the bench cementing in the oppression of women for years, decades to come. Even if the older Conservative Justices leave the bench, Trump will just appoint younger ones; and with the far-right controlled Senate, those appoints will fly through. Can you blame them?
This "4B" movement might be the last chance women have to become equal with men again.
The question is: can women who join this movement be able to keep their commitment. The urge to have sex, have children, and to have a mate is very strong. I wish them the best.
One word of warning (several, actually) is joining the "4B" movement can be dangerous (sort of proving the point) as this anecdote reflects:
"Abby K., a 27-year-old from Florida, recently broke up with her boyfriend over dismissive comments he made about Trump’s history of sexual abuse. When she posted a video about that and her decision to join the 4B movement, she says men flooded her DMs with death threats and hateful comments about her appearance."
On a personal note, while I sympathize with and support their view, as a liberal man I feel bad about being lumped in with the social Conservatives who are at war with women. But, it is their life and wellbeing they are fighting for.

As a Conservative woman, I blame leftist feminists for screwed up women, and men! Throughout the 70's they were teaching us to hate men, but to love our bodies and ourselves --- to enjoy sex, but to destroy any new life which may come from it! As if babies were of no consequence, merely waste material!! That was their message for us girls! Men were of no consequence, and babies were of no consequence. When men (those who didn't die in war) did begin to make a comeback in relevancy, they were then to be seen as "toxic".
Fast forward to the 2020's, confused (ya think) biological men, participating in women's sports, preferring women's locker rooms and women's bathrooms, pretending to be women, refusing to be men! Women too spineless to speak out against it, and apparently, the outspoken feminists of the past... have all died off, for they no longer have anything to say!
Well, keeping it current, I feel deeply for young women who are being attacked in large numbers on social media by the trend "your body my choice" the posts by the young men are vile. I feel deeply for the elementary and middle school girls who are being harassed by their little boy classmates using the same and other phrases. I've always been troubled by the fact that I frequently see children in the crowds of trump rallies. The fact that I see youngsters, who have no concept of politics, wearing maga gear. I've never seen Trump as a role model, certainly not exhibiting language or behavior a child should emulate.
Ignore me, won't be the first time nor the last I'm sure.
Women/girls need to start looking in the mirror, (I would add weak men, afraid of their masculinity) and stop playing the victim, blaming someone else or something else for their issues and shortcomings. Going further into their heads, ain't the way!
Let me understand a little more clearly... Are you saying that the women on social media who are being attacked, somehow deserve it? To be even more clear, these are just women posting typical content and they are being inundated with vile messages on their posts. It began with this young man's post and is spreading like wildfire...

So women are to blame for this guy?
AB, just at a very basic level, I'm simply looking at a sweeping trend going on right now and I am trying to understand it.
People have turned Donald Trump into the boogeyman, and he is not. We got into trouble long ago, between abortion and man-hate, women were given very bad advice and it has caught up with us. Men don't know what is expected of them, they've received so many mixed signals.
If we can drown out the noise and focus on the individual, whether it be male or female, who God created us to be, we can heal.
My prayer is for people to look to God. People fail us, but God never will. People fall short, but God never does.
He turned himself into the boogeyman by being a convicted felon and sexual abuser. What he said at his rallies were despicable by any standards other than those who agree with him.
No, people are simply describing what Trump has no problem showing.
We could have a long debate about your version of God, but I will leave that to another forum.
It seem to me she is. That makes me wonder if she is one of those women who blame the woman for being raped, e.g. it was the way she was dressed or she had one too many drinks, as if those things make it OK to rape her.
I've never said, nor would I say, any such thing about victims of rape!
But, I am remembering discussions in the past, which involved you.... and I almost forgot, AVOID at all costs!! No need to further insult me, I'll leave.
And I didn't say you have. But when you writer something like
Women/girls need to start looking in the mirror and stop playing the victim, blaming someone else or something else for their issues and shortcomings,
Can you see why I would wonder?
Where is the insult, btw. I was commenting on what you wrote.

I haven't read WIllarbor's response yet so these are my thoughts.
I remember those days well. I remember I had to volunteer to go serve my country in Vietnam. I remember that women were treated so much worse than today where they earned half as much at the same job assuming women were allowed by men to have those jobs.
Weren't those days that if a women was raped, the going in assumption was that it was HER fault? That in those days, domestic abuse was largely unpunished? That in those days women were expected to be barefoot and pregnant and to serve their man? I will allow that things like that improved since the 1950s, although conservatives fought the "Progress" every step of the way.
Could it be that those so-called "leftist feminists" were trying to shake off the shackles men put on them. That said, I do realize there is that subset of women who think that is the proper order of society and that shackles on women are needed.
History has taught that it was those "leftist feminists" who got YOU and other conservative women the right to vote, the right to own property, the right to divorce, the right to take their abusers to court, the right to equal pay (although we haven't progressed as a society to that point yet) among so many other things that made life as a woman worth living.
From my point of view, those leftist feminists did the world a lot of good.
"From my point of view, those leftist feminists did the world a lot of good"
Bingo! It is disappointing to see that so many young men, Gen Z, have embraced the hypermasculinity that's being pushed by maga these days. For some men, women have advanced a little too much for their liking.
And they, and the conservative women who support them, are more than willing to put women back in your place.
