The GOP so far has been a field of jokes, in offering up any candidates.

I am afraid that it will be the same as before, if this keeps up.

I guess Obama was correct during the last election when he said; "Is this all you got!"  Man, I hope not

WHY TRUMP, HE'S A  ROOKIE,better to see him eat up BARRIE '' I '' OBAMA.
LIMBAUGH wouldn't need a teleprompter and it would be something to see how much barrie would stutter and maybe a few mis quotes or so

You've got a good point there, John.
I was more thinking of Trump v. Limbaugh as a giant battle of egos. Limbaugh would mop the floor with Trump. He's got way better insights into politics and knows how to pull people to his way of thinking. Trump sputters and does not have facts.
            He wouldn't last five minutes.

Rush v. Obama. Very different styles.
Obama has been practicing his everyman speeches with town hall meetings and the like. He can be "on" or he can come across as lofty and annoyed. Depends. Sometimes he's even funny.

In a Republican primary I'm sure Rush would destroy Trump. I think the fact that Trump was a registered Democrat from 2001 - 2009 and supported Obama in 2008 (along with many other Democrats through the years) would probably come up at least a couple times in a GOP debate.

Considering the diversions pursued by our current president elective office appears to reward one with unlimited time on the links.

The Comics will have a filed day. The Trump and the Grump. They'll make jokes about Trumps hair, and Rush's drugs. A rogaine and no pain moment.

Sounds like you know your poetry? Ii believe that Limbaugh could match the $ billion that Obama is raising to run if he wanted to run.I heard that Limbaugh tells it the way it is and Barry tells it the way the people feel goooood, something like now you see it and now you don't .

I'm not sure he tells it like is "is" but he sure is persuasive in getting people whipped up into believing what he says.
You could say that's leadership. Yes, I believe it is.

I can't picture him wanting to do the job of POTUS, howevever.
He makes way more money where he is and he doesn't have to deal every day with whiny babies in Congress.
He pretty much gets to say whatever he wants.
        Nice gig.
Where do I sign up? smile

I know what you are saying about signing up. If I had my own radio program, or a show like John Stewarts, I would be ripping the oil companies a new hole. But, I say that people shouldn't believe everything they hear. That's how Bush duped america into believing that Iraq was a threat to our security, when all they wanted to do was get their hands on Iraq's oil.

''when all they wanted to do was get their hands on Iraq's oil.''
Can you let us know when the iraqi oil arrived in the good ole USA?
ALL THE THINGS THAT BUSH DID seams to be helping our leader to be a HERO. BARAK ''I '' OBAMA is telling the people how he got OBL.

            1. brimancandy profile image76
brimancandyposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Your point about the Iraq Oil arriving in the United States didn't happen because the Russians and France already had contracts to buy oil from Iraq, so Bush got a huge surprise when he and Cheney's buddies from Haliburton were not allowed to recover Iraqs oil during the reconstruction. Even though Haliburton got a majority of the construction contracts to rebuild, and brought in their own people instead of hiring Iraq's citizens to do the job. And, then pissed and whined and moaned about having to protect them. They just figured the american military would do that job. And, protecting those assholes is the only reason we are still there.

In short. If Bush had never invaded Irag on a bunch of BS and LIes, we would not be in Iraq right now. End of Story.

I agree.  I cannot imagine Limbaugh giving up the career he has been in love with since he was 15.  He is the hero of station owners having revived a dieing band and making AM viable again.  The reputation and respect he has among radio people would be hard to leave behind.  The obligation someone like Limbaugh must feel for an industry for which he is, almost, single-handedly responsible - long form, nationally syndicated talk(sports talk, medical talk, even UFO talk) probably keeps him in place, also.

Rush works three hours a day for millions of dollars. Why would he want to take a pay cut and increase his work hours.  He is already one of the most respected voices in the country, he is also very influential, I do not think the thought has ever crossed Rush's mind.

Just because a person becomes wealthy, it does not mean that he or she has earned one's respect for their mind, character, heart or wisdom.

The are a number of porn merchants, drug dealers and pro athletes, etc who have achieved great wealth... either legally or illegally, yet they don't warrant any extra respect

sucess is not the money you aquire, it is the path you take to use that money....what you do.

Building Golf courses with dues set at 25,000 a year and fees of 1000-2000 a month additional is "NOT" a qualification for President.

and a Radio show, political shock jock is not a great wealth of experience to draw from either.

Maybe he can get all the Ladies on the View to fill his cabinet!!!!!!!!

Wasn't this a**hole suppose to be moving to Costa Rica (a country with universal health care) when Obamacare was passed? he made the announcement over a year ago and he's still here!

... and Glenn Beck for Vice President.  While we're at it, Sarah Palin would be a great choice for Secretary of State, Donald Trump for Treasury Secretary, and we'll find a spot for Arnold Schwarzenegger.

America's dream team for those challenged to think critically.
