We all know what Jesus said and did in the Bible including getting annoyed by the money-changers and calling the Pharisees hypocrites etc but what would he have to say about all the terrible people who call themselves Christians and all the evils done in his name? What would Jesus say about the world today and what do you think he would do to sort it out?
This could make an excellent hub if anyone wants to have a go at it.
If Jesus was to speak out against anyone, it would be against those who call themselves Christians, but bear no fruit at all. In the Bible Jesus said, "Not everyone who says Lord Lord will enter into the kingdom of Heaven." Many claim to follow after Jesus, but yet they follow after their own hearts.
The Bible also states that evil will wax worse and worse. This is not only in the church but also everyone in the world. I will think about writing a hub on this and see what comes of it.
Thanks, Bard, for starting this thread.
Thank you everyone for your replies, and in particular, thank you Sir Dent! I am sure you could make a brilliant job of it because I know you know your Bible very well indeed.
I wonder where he'd start? I wonder what his priorities would be? Would he command that things were done? Would he cause them to be done by his divine power? would he appoint disciples again? Would he remove evil people from the positions they currently hold? Would he show the sincere in spirit how to achieve miracles so they could help him? Would he come back undercover so that people didn't know he was Jesus returned? Would he gives us new parables and new commandments? Would he tell us how to sort out the pollution worldwide? Would he give us new sources of fuel and power? Would he resurrect animals and flowers that have become extinct? Would he cast out demons? What country would he announce his return to first or would it be a worldwide proclamation?
So many questions!
When He comes back He would actually call all who are His to go back with Him. The whole world would know it, but probably make up an excuse or a story claiming the evil ones were removed from the earth or something similar.
If He was to come back in the way you asked, He would start where He left off. When he preached he preached repentance and acceptance of Himself as being the Son of the Living God. Not sure if He would do anything animals that are extinct. God spoke and animals were created by His Word, but man was formed by the hand of God. Man holds a higher position in the heart of God than animals do.
In Revelation there is a great war and the army that comes against Israel will be defeated. Israel will then take all the weapons of war that were left by this army and use them for fuel and such. If I recall without looking it up, 7 years will be how long these resources last.
He still casts out demons even now.
Not sure about Him coming back undercover. That's something I would have to ponder on.
I probably won't be able to reply anymore here until later tonight. If you want you can email me your questions using the contact link, or just ask more here. If anything I said here needs clarified, just let me know.
I think he would probably call them dumb asses and move on.
Though the ones that swear it in his name they got it right; he would probably find himself with an argument about who he is too.
They'd say, Your not the real Jesus because Jesus said this and it means this and if it's not in the bible then we know etc...
Makes me laugh really. All I would says is. "WTF?" And he would respond... "Yeah, I know."
He'd just shake his head and look for a different job.
Maybe he'd be a carpenter.
Gosh wouldnt that be an experiment for Jesus , employment in 2009...
"I'm sorry sir, but you haven't got the necessary qualifications."
"What do you mean? I died for you lot! I was nailed to a cross after carrying it for miles! You owe me!If it weren't for me, you wouldn't be here. My father would've wiped you all out."
"I'm sorry sir, but you haven't got the necessary qualifications."
Hmmmm, I think he would say, I can't believe you guys fell for that. Walking on water, seriously?
I suppose you have the answer. He may have changed a little in over 2,000 years. Who here speaks for G-D?
Well for me. I think Jesus would want to make a lot of difference by introducing The Father to the world. He is our Creator and He loves us.The world has actually gone haywire, it's as everything is caving in.I believe He would make a clear-cut distinction between phonies and people who actually love Him and have a genuine relationship with Him and outrightly expose what's beneeath the surface of both.
I think he would say God this place has gone to the dogs....look at all these humans running around like headless chickens trying to make a fast buck and never stopping to think what effect it will have on there lives.....sometimes i think we should go back to the good old days when we had nothing but felt we had the entire world at our feet.Where we could run through feilds and feel as free as birds...Nowdays they have barbed wire around them ...Oooooh what a happy comment i have made x
Yeah I liked it when people were more real and "self-service" was not even a term. When you had to go knock on someones door to get to know them, when you wrote a letter in your own hand and it meant something to you, it was a small creation, and the person who received it was filled with joy to get some mail for them from a friend and they did not just hit delete!! When we could play 5 miles from home and our parents had no concern that someone might harm us.
When back talk to an adult was not even something you thought about for more than 5 seconds. When people saw you doing something wrong they would call you on it and not look the other way.
When someone else's dad could discipline you if you were at his house, then call your dad and tell him what happened.
People did not live in fear of others. The people who liked to harm others had reason to fear those that liked to do good to people.
Above all, it seemed like you learned respect.
So I think He would bring respect back where it belongs.
The principal paradox in today’s western world is that Bible, is the only habitually misunderstood book by the westerners specially Christians. Although Bible is not the book which the Muslims believe rather INJEEL is the one revealed on Jesus (pbuh). Today, Christians are unable to present INJEEL, instead, they have Bibles written by John, Mathew, Mark, Luke etc and not Jesus (pbuh) himself. Even then, the whole series of Bibles does not contain the word TRINITY, these Bibles does not mention Jesus (pbuh) claiming divinity and does not mention the death of Jesus (pbuh) yet ironically Christians believe on these false notions which the Paul and Pope gave them and don’t get verses of Bible in context.
The three major misconceptions which we see around in the Christian world, Jesus (pbuh)’s death, his claim to be God and the concept of TRINITY, were merely developed by the Christian elders and due to this very reason Jesus (pbuh) will return to earth before the end of time for proving them to be wrong and killing the Antichrist (Dajjal) for the peace to prevail on earth. Jesus (pbuh) is the only messenger of Allah from the total of 124 thousand messengers in the history of mankind, whose followers, majority of them (not all) consider him to be divine, the begotten son of God and was killed by Jews on the cross ruthlessly. All these type of things, attributed to Jesus (pbuh) are unique in the sense because none of the other messengers of Allah faced these types of allegations which the Christians attribute to Jesus Christ (pbuh). His return is also mentioned in Bible without any doubt.
when Jesus (pbuh) will return, these popes, priests and missionaries will approach him and say in verse 22 and the Christ's reply will be as verse 23
Gospel of Mathew: Ch 7:V 22-23
22. "Many will say to me on that day, 'My Lord, my Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name cast out demons and in your name perform great powers?'
23. "And then I will declare to them that, I never knew you, go away from me, workers of abomination.
This will be the statement of Jesus (pbuh) to christians and that's the main reason of his return to earth, to prove to the christians that he never claimed divinity or trinity and he was not dead. Look at the irony, the word TRINITY which these popes cry about does not exists in the complete range and flavours of Bibles, the old and the new testaments alike.
Why do you religionists seem to be unable to have a conversation? What is the point of cutting and pasting great chunks of text to support your irrational beliefs?
This is all copied from a hub that has since been deleted. You have not spoken to the question - you have merely demonstrated your incredible ignorance and desperate need to spread your particular interpretation of the rubbish.
Jesus is turning in his grave - that's what. And he is not coming back, because he never left.
I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A GO AT IT.... HAVE TO GO TO WORK TODAY AND ALL DAY TOMORROW TIL 8 AT NIGHT BUT I WILL DO IT
He would probably re-check his GPS and do a double take. Then, hopefully, he would remount the mount and set everyone straight.
He would take a deep breath from his diaphragm, sigh, and say, "Here we go again...what have you not learned in 2,000 years?" I think he expected this mess.
He will be back only if there is a mess .
I doubt he'd say anything. He'd just text or email all his contacts on msn. Probably something like 'wassuuup! im bk, its all gd. bcos im bk. lol'
And I'd do a hub about it. But I'd probably get hammered. I can imagine an awful lot of very silly things he could get up to.
he did like wine, or so I seem to remeber...
I think he would just lead by example as he did when he came over 2000 years ago, somehow move us to see beyond duality, but no matter what he'd say the human ego would attempt to pervert his real teachings to cater to themselves and the power/control hungry! Its sad how his true teachings have been so perverted and most Christian religions idolize him when he came to show us the way to have life and have it more abundantly.
He'd put his hands on his hips, and say, "God, what a mess! I leave you here for nearly 2000 years and look what you've done!"
@manly
Thanks manly. Have you thought of something yet that Jesus would say? You'll put it best in pics I suppose.
AV...I got one that I would say If I were him:
"Where's the one that had that whip...I think I'll start with him!"
But...in reality...He will probably say, "Anyone Miss Me While I Was Gone?"
Very risqué this, but here goes. I couldn't resist.
"So that's the way you guys wanna play?"
or
"I never knew this could be so much fun"
or
"Come out and play, sinners! I'm back!"
He'd be better than the terminator.
Instead of "Hasta la vista, baby", he'd be like "Hallelujah, Amen."
So ya like Rock n Roll huh !
Lets get this party started!
I fought the law and the law won
Now this is funny!! Jesus is not playing no games!!
He's been far too lenient up until now. Not that I don't appreciate that, mind you.
And he is going to say one day:
"Bring it" and end with a humongus fireworks party ...bigger than 'you know where' lol
He would say, Told cha I come back?
And I be like, on my knees asking for forgiveness!
I hope he would say "Good Job Cole, carry on"
Then we would play Guitar Hero, and he would beat the Devil for me
I try not to have too many preconceived notions about what might happen.
Although he would saddened by the sight, he would not be surprised by any means. John says he knows what's inside a man. He knows that the intent of each man's heart is evil nearly all the time. Yet, he would still have compassion seeing that we are harassed and helpless. He would stretch out his loving arms knowing that the vast majority would refuse to enter his arms and his peace. As they rejected him in the 1st century; so they will reject him in the 21st century. Once Jesus wondered outloud "when the Son of Man returns will he find faith on the earth?" Will he? Will he find genuine faith in any of our hearts?
No need to wonder what HE will do.
He already said what He will do.
I am more interested in the part about.
1 Corinthians 2:9
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,
“No eye has seen,
no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
for those who love him.”
The rest is all in black and white already.
So you can imagine then the dismay people have for people saying they have seen god, have heard god, god has told them what to do etc.. right?
Sure it is hard to believe, many were dismayed when Messiah was walking the earth as the visible image of the invisible GOD. I understand that.
But the above reference is talking about the things He has prepared in the future and how they cannot be figured out, have not entered into anyones thoughts because they are hidden and nobody has seen them.
It is not talking about seeing or hearing from Messiah, that has happened already.
That's why it says "prepared"...future tense.
When a man speaks for God, you have to test the spirit and ask "does he contradict God? Let me look it up and see if the man lines up with God"
If he predicts anything that does not come to pass, he is a false prophet.
We want to assume right away the man is lying for saying he is speaking for God rather than just test him over time.
No man has seen God at any time Messiah said, He is invisible, His visible image is Messiah and he has appeared to many people. Again, you have to test them.
Only Messiah can see God because they are the same, one is visible the other is not.
Just like i can see you, but I cannot see your spirit, right?
Simple.
No, I really don't think you do understand. The invisible is always invisible. Not invisible ink.
And you came up with this on your own?
So then you are surly calling Solomon a liar as well as he has also stated that "no one can see god" From the OT as well as the book of Romans.
Sorry, you are confused about the use of the term prepared. It's not a reference for the future. It's a past tense use of the term prepare. If it were future tense it would have read... preparing. But this is not the case.
Which one? And so you delightfully wait for the end of all ends so you can be right? You are not speaking for god and you are not god. get it out of your head. you mean burn them and see if they die. Shoot them and see if they bleed? The testimonies just get crazier and crazier the more I hear. All these people have seen what cannot be seen and come up with a number of different way to make it true. The extent that people will go is more amazing. So he has a mirror in heaven. How vain.
And now I know you are absolutely confused. You have no idea what a spirit is. You might want to check with your messiah again and ask him what a spirit is.
@manly
"Or the one with the spear, where's he at?"
"He's dead, Jesus. Died about 1950 years ago."
"No worries, I'll just resurrect him and kill 'em again!"
I don't think it is likely anyone will see your god. Too small!
Well, He did come, emptied Himself and manifest Himself to be like one of us, so yes that is pretty small.
And everyone did see Him.
He can appear as a man, no big deal to Him at all.
Sandra's spirit is totally visible, tangible, observable! Hello Sandra's spirit!
Messiah is the visible image of the invisible God and He can be seen if He choses to appear.
Col 1:15 Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before God made anything at all and is supreme over all creation.
Col 1:16 Christ is the one through whom God created everything in heaven and earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see, kings, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities. Everything has been created through him and for him.
Col 1:17 He existed before everything else began, and he holds all creation together.
Col 1:18 Christ is the head of the church, which is his body. He is the first of all who will rise from the dead, so he is first in everything.
Col 1:19 For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ,
Col 1:20 and by him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of his blood on the cross.
I wanna see somebody show up as a 'Grokman!' I really do.
(This MIGHT be a hint to somebody who posts in the religion forums regularly.)
If Jesus showed up today first he would ask us to please stop wearing a crucifix because he finds it offensive. Then he would ask who the hell said to "go forth and create religion"? I said to all love each other, among other things and you form groups to compete with each other and see who's is the best. That was NOT my idea. In fact, there's a bunch of stuff me and my dad never said or did and alot of men who re-wrote the bible made up. So I am here to tell you the real deal.
That would be refreshing and I am, quite literally, dying to know.
Thank you everyone for all your responses! Sir Dent, thank you for your answers to my specific questions!
Moonchild60, I really like your answer! Thank you!
Yes lovely response moonchild I think he would reframe christianity for the 21st century and tell people that the bible was never meant to be taken literally - it was written for people that lived long ago in a different type of society. I think he would reiterate his basic message which has been mis-interpreted, in essence, that we are all sons and daughters of God. Jesus was a man with a spiritual essence just like the reast of us. Also, that the resurrection was telling us about reincarnation and not about a special fact of his existence.
Ummm...please bear in mind that since I'm not a Christian, maybe I shouldn't even be Posting on this thread...but there was no yellow crime scene tape saying "stay out", so:
I suspect he'd say: "Religion? What the--?? I didn't start no religion!!"
Except of course he'd use proper English, or Chinese, or whatever language applied.
Oh. Moonchild60 already said that, more or less...well, it's still a thought.
The only words
"Can I register on hubpages and expect useful posts"
And if we can answer yes, we woudl be reading very spiritual hubs from him soon.
I expect Jesus would turn right back round and head straight back to heaven in total disgust shaking his head or he would have to run quickly as the villagers with pitchforks are trying to crucify him again and once really is enough!
I expect I am not the only one to think or say this
We really are a charming species aren't we ?
Probably like He is even now.
I think the people that really do know Him are doing the same.
I WOULD SAY HE IS WEEPING FROM WHERE HE IS NOW don't you.... he must rejoicing also as some people are truly trying to follow him.... however hard it is
I dont think He would have to say anything. He will come and believers will know to follow.....
I remember it says somewhere that judgment begins in the places that are called the house of God. So I think He would start there first, you know, clean out the house first, get rid of all the filth and fraud.
Maybe like when He took and made a whip and cleaned out the temple?
He'd say - rehearsal time's over, we're going for a take
lights - camera - action....
There are some very good answers, some funny ones too! Thank you to everyone, for responding!
Mohit, your back with a smile
I haven't seen you for a while
I see you some times
on the threads or on vines
place a well made remark in the pile
Took a break for a few days, was reading.
Well if God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost are all the same person he would be well hammered on Hubs for his alter-egos for sure !
He is ! I had very interesting chats with him ! But I found him a little soft in the head . Maybe he's 2 old
Ohhhhh I never make comments like that, the Captain is a believer ya know. Like if I believe and he does exist Happy days, and well if he doesn't I am dead and buggered anyway so don't give a monkeys !
Dont think he would say anything more than hes already said..
More like..
Move over Hollywood , Im about to perform the uncut version
I must say it is hard to comprehend One who has some 365+ Names and can take on any form He wishes. Is a Father, a Son and a Holy Spirit just for starters and has a multifaceted character.
I think we find it hard to believe because we cannot do it due to our limitations.
I will say that we are spirit, soul and body. Can be a father, a son, a mother, a daughter, a husband, a wife, a grandfather, a grandmother, an aunt, an uncle, a niece, a nephew, a friend, a boy, a girl etc. and still be one person.
We can also be a homeowner, farmer, equipment operator, animal care taker, mechanic, teacher, builder and repairman and still be the same person while not leaving the farm.
So in many ways we are multifaceted too.
We can also go by many names as well, depending on the relationship.
We can be called, dear, honey, buddy, pal, uncle, grandpa, dad and Joe.
If Jesus were to return today, he will be here to setup his kingdom for the millenium.
I wouldn't concern myself what He says, but what He is going to do.
Wickedness will be removed from the earth and there will finally be true peace.
He'd probably buy a gun and tell people to vote republican.

I would say Jesus would mean more if he was a man because then he is just like us and proved the power of faith in God. Plus Jesus said plain as day, I am from the seed of David. I am just like you, and do not bow down to me, I am just like you, or have no other God besided the...

Can only Christians and those who accept Jesus Christ go to heaven?According to Christianity, only those who have openly accepted Jesus Christ and the Christian faith may go to heaven. If that is the case, what about the African tribe who has never heard of of Jesus? Even if they are good people,...
