A good external traffic %

   Hi,
   
   Just a quick question. I realise that hubpages traffic is worth very little $$$ and external traffic more specifically search engine traffic is worth more $$$. What do people think is a good ration of hubpages to external traffic?

   Personally I'd opt for 100% search engine traffic to 0% HP traffic.
   
   At the moment I'd say at least 70% of my traffic is coming from search engines.

   Instead of thinking in percentages, I'm thinking in absolute numbers. My new goal and obsession is to reach 10,000 google visitors in 30 days.

   wow 10k in 30 days that would be an achievement, good luck with that. I have had about 100 in 6 days so i am actually quite happy with that but jsut wanted to have an idea of good figures

   For me less than 25% from Hubpages.  But as Nelle says it depends on traffic as much as percentages.

   It will depend largely on what the topic is about.
   
   I just published a hub on HubPage Fan Clubs. I'd be surprised if I get any outside traffic.
   
   My other hub topics will have a higher percentage of outside traffic. 100% would be impossible, but the more traffic you can get from Search Engines the higher the quality the visitor will be (in terms of clicking on ads and making actual purchases).

    Darkside is right. Hub topics and content that are focussed on hubpages draws more traffic from hubpages, and hubs focussed on getting other traffic will do just that if they are well written and have plenty of room for ads.

    Thanks for all the great replys guy's is good to hear what other people are achieving gives you somthing to strive for! I appreciate that different hubs will produce different levels of external traffic...now it's just finding those topics which produce the most clicks Thanks again all for the replys.

    Because peopel coming from within Hubpages are generally a lot less likely to click on Adsense or purchase through eBay and Amazon capsules within your hubs.

    70% traffic from search engines sounds good. 10 to 20% direct traffic is good too from ezines

    I was disappointed with traffic views during the first  couple of weeks here, but in the last 10 days I have had nearly a 1000 views, about 30% from hubbers and the rest from the outside. It has boosted my morale to get more hubs out there.

    Hubpages traffic doesn't mean the person is a member on Hubpages. Outside Traffic almost 100% guarantees there not. The good thing about other authors reading your work is:
    
    1. Someone likes it so far, maybe others will.
    2. They can leave comments and tips.
    3. They may link to your Hub from one of theres if there is any relevance.

       Highlight a word .. I usually use * --> here.* and set a link using the chain icon (pic on toolbar) and paste the URL in the pop up menu. Hit save and you're set. hope that helps.

    Almost all of my traffic is organic, but I haven't built up much of an HP presence yet, nor do I have a ton of hubs to this point.

    I have 44% of my views from hubpages and the rest external.  Don't know if that classifies as good or not, but I am certainly satisfied.

       Hi kidgas. Do you know that's really good on your part if you are getting 56% views from external resources.
       
       For me, I am receiving around 72% of my views from external sources including search engines and the rest 38% internally from hubpages.
       
       One more thing to note is that whatever percentage of traffic you are receiving from hubpages, it is also good for you because it might be possible that a person is visiting hubpages from any external links such as google or other sites and then visiting your hubs so that means you have posted good quality hubs which are also ranking very well internally......
